《The Bartender at the End of the Universe》Ch 259: An Unexpected Evicition

"Tough luck. You're much more useful to me alive." Sentenza's voice was gruff and firm.
He grabbed Narissa firmly by her arm. With a quick jump, he pulled both of them out of the room and out into the larger arena if death.
Narissa looked especially irritated. "What's wrong with you?" She scowled. "We need that place if we want to stand a chance against those two."
"Don't tell me you're getting that oblivious in your old age," Sentenza scoffed. "Look."
As he pointed up towards the room, a wolf's paw slashed out from inside the room. But they were too far away to be hit by the strike.
It seemed obvious they were well our of reach, but the wolf sat angrily in the small room as his paw reached out and slashed through the air. His one eye was focused on Sentenza again as the mist swirled around him.
"He'd gotten to us a while ago, gonna have to change strategies again." Sentenza mused as he scratched at his neck.
He'd been scratching his neck so roughly and so frequently, that it was bright red, and the scars left by Bakade's claws looked especially bad. But he seemed far too preoccupied with the fight to worry about the health of his neck. Especially when it probably wouldn't kill him within moments, unlike the robot or wolf if they were given the chance.
In fact, the robot looked a little worn down. Sparks were flying across it as several scrapes and even decently large bullet holes peppered its chasis. It seemed to be waiting for something again, as it didn't take the initiative as a slight lull overtook the battlefield.
"Hey there, welcome back to the party." Og'drimun cheered as Pockets pulled him out of a hat by his ears. "You've been stuck in that room for what feels like forever!"

Narissa gnashed her teeth. "That was for a good reason!" She grumbled. "Someone slapped together a room from spare parts and never thought about how long it would last. I've barely managed to keep away the decay of death."
Hey, I didn't mean to do anything. Death complained.
Narissa sighed in frustration. She turned her eyes to glare at Sentenza. "If you could've just dealt with that dog instead of abandoning ship."
Sentenza's eyes were distant as he continued to grumble under his breath while he scratched at his red throat. "Didn't have a good chance to do anything." He explained. "Don't plan on dying for nothing either."
"Coward," she hissed. "You could've taken him on at least instead of running."
"Bbbuuuttt hhhooowww?" Bakade asked. "Ttthhhaaattt wwwooolllfff kkkkeeeepppss aaavvvooiiidddiiiinnnggg eeevveeeerrryyytthhhiiinnngg nnnooowww."
"I thought the great Sentenza was the world's greatest assassin?" Narissa said as she shook her head. "I thought no man could survive against your gun hand when you put your mind to ending his life?"
Sentenza snorted.
"I'm not magic or anything." He replied. "It's more the gun than me. Put me against things that can eat bullet after bullet, and I'm at a loss."
Pockets dropped Og'drimun as she tapped her chin. "I swear there was something about fog. Wasn't it trouble before?"
"What are you talk..." Narissa stopped talking as she turned to look around the room.
Small sections of fog had spread out and were starting to cover the entire chamber. Slowly but surely bits of fog expanded outwards more and more. The fleshy room now had an angry wolf sitting just inside as mist practically poured out like a waterfall.
Narissa but her lower lip as she furrowed her brow.

Ugh, I do not want to deal with that fog again. Death grumbled. Having to walk everywhere, even alone is so annoying!
Og'drimun floated up as he patted his fur clean of the soot he was still coated in. "Well, we're already separated. May as well divide and conquer, right bro?"
Do...do you mean it bro? Death asked.
Og'drimun nodded. "Show them what you can do my man. Really lay into them, for the two of us."
Death nodded as he reached up inside his own rib cage and started to pull out his scythe.
Ting!
The scythe got stuck halfway through. When Death looked down, Pockets had stabbed a stiletto through his ribcage and pinched the scythe's handle up against his bones.
Really? Death groaned.
"Oopsie, my hand slipped!" Pockets giggled as she shrugged innocently.
Uh huh. Death said flatly as he clearly didn't believe her.
The skeleton pulled out the blockage and finished unleashing his scythe. Then, he turned his eyes towards the wolf.
Time to get things rolling. Death cheered.
A moment later and he disappeared and reappeared right by the box with fleshy walls. Surprisingly, his horse had disappeared and reappeared with him. Right underneath him, it stood firm as he swung his scythe towards the wolf.
"Don't destroy that room!" Narissa called out with slight panic clear in her voice. "That's our only surefire way out of this mess!"
Huh? I can't hear... Death started to reply, but a wave of the thick fog flew out of the room, and quickly enveloped him. His voice disappeared from everyone's mind and he almost seemed to stop existing completely.
Oddly enough it was eerily similar to when the robot had flung him into another dimension.
"Well, that can't be good..." Sentenza grumbled.
