Eunho was expecting to face an arrogant Prince Minho, but instead he was faced with the dead corpse of one of his soldiers. He clenched his teeth in fury at the scene. The soldier’s head was cut off cleanly and blood was pooled beneath the body. He remembered the soldier happily talking about his wife and kids. He was constantly working hard to earn money for his family.

The soldier planned on retiring just a few days later to spend time with his family. He needed to work at an old age, because his wife and him conceived at an old age. After years of working, his plan was to retire once he earned enough for his family. He was weeks away from retirement.

He felt immense guilt towards his wife and kids that were waiting for his return. The news would be devastating. He couldn’t imagine how much pain and sorrow they would be faced with. If only he let him retire sooner, he wouldn’t have died at this age.

Once everyone heard of his death, the soldiers gathered around the corpse. They placed a white cloth over his body and placed him in the cart to bring to his family. A few of the soldiers had tears in their eyes as they pulled the cart out of the Kim Residence. They were close to the soldier, and they viewed him as their own grandfather. It was heartbreaking watching his soldiers grieving over his death.

Eunho angrily asked the guard, “Why did you leave him here alone? You should’ve gotten some more guards to help.” The guard cried, “I didn’t know this was going to happen. I was scared for my life.” Eunho sighed, “He’s already gone. You’ll come with me to tell his family what happened.”

The guard nodded, “I’ll go and tell his family. Is there anything else? I can receive any punishment.” Eunho glared at him, “Your punishment will have to wait. Where’s Prince Minho?” The guard frantically searched the premises. Prince Minho’s palanquin was gone, and his servants were nowhere to be found.

Did Prince Minho leave after killing the guard? If he were Minho, he wouldn’t have just left. He would go to see Yuna. Eunho instantly began rushing towards Yuna’s room. It wasn’t possible for Minho to enter Yuna’s bedroom and leave so quickly. It didn’t take long for Eunho to walk to the main gate. Eunho instructed the guards, “Search the premises for Prince Minho’s palanquin. They must be around here somewhere.”

The guards began searching for the palanquin while Eunho dashed to Yuna’s room. He hoped that he wasn’t too late. He felt frustrated thinking about all the times he was a step too late in protecting Yuna. He wouldn’t be able to live with himself if Minho did anything to harm Yuna.
