At that moment, I felt something explode inside of me as I felt adrenaline pump into my brain.
Pure Saint's Spirit Activated.
Warning! Ethereal Power drain levels have exceeded over 1% per second!
Lesser Channeling Skill has reached level 1 and therefore has unlocked.
Mentally pushing the window away on instinct, I see three large bunnies speedily hop in a sort of zig-zag towards me.
"Get ready!" Mimi shouted as she hovered behind me.
Before I focused on the three rabbits, I managed to catch a small glance of the other rabbits further into the distance that noticed the impending battle.
I swing the sword at the biggest rabbit who gets a large cut on it's chest as it collides with the edge of the Min-turned-sword. The other two catch up and their ears collide with my legs, creating a painful sensation there.
I was instantly brought to my knees, but before I fell, I made another swing at the largest rabbit which landed on it's head with the edge of the sword, cutting into it.

The cuts pour out in blood, and the organs within the rabbit's belly spilled out a little. The pain in my legs instantly recede the moment I skimmed the window.
Making it disappear, I stand up and see the other two rabbits charging at me again when I looked behind. When they got close, I swung again, aiming for the right rabbit, who just jumps over the swing and grazes my face with it's ears.
I got knocked over as a result, and the left rabbit hit my hands that were holding the Min, weakening my grip, fortunately it wasn't enough to make me drop it. I stood up with a bit of difficulty this time, and once again looked at the two rabbits.
"Use my skills!" Mimi urged on.
Without hesitating and thinking, I subconsciously raised my hand in the air. A circle appears in my hand and flies over to one of the rabbits.
That rabbit was ahead of the other one as it was the one that knocked me over. The moment it got into the range of the blade, I slashed at the rabbit, hitting it with the edge of the blade, and made an even larger cut on it's head.
Critical! (2.0x damage)
Rough-Ear Rabbit was slain.

The last rabbit, misses me as it is also trying to dodge my blade.
When I look after it, thinking I would see it turn around. I was correct... But that wasn't all.
A huge multitude of other rabbits were zeroing in on me.
"Channel more power into your Min!" Mimi urged once again.
The sword glowed as I directed more ethereal power into the Min. I swung it at the incoming mass that was barreling down on me and made multiple gashes on different rabbits that were still a bit of a distance, but it wasn't enough to stop them, as they slowed down and new ones replaced them.
I swung my sword one last time as a desperate attempt to survive.
Rough-Ear Rabbit was slain.

Killing two more, I watched helplessly as the rest swarmed me in moments. I created another circle which rang out and sent it through the swarm, injuring more.

My Min was knocked out of my hands by two rabbits striking my hands with their ears, cutting the connection between me and it, and Mimi disappeared.
Then, another three rabbits, one from the front, and one from the back, based on impact, hit me on my sides, and I was forced to turn around.
Then I saw my follower, Vestrius being mangled in from of me as her limbs bent in abnormal directions and one of her hands was reaching out to me...
Vestrius Nomica was slain. Party Management has reached lvl 1 and therefore has unlocked.
And then the rabbits tried to finish me off after as they twisted and bruised me as well. One of the injured ones ended up dying in the process and kept me alive longer as I killed another one.

Somewhere in the Verulia Great Ocean...
In a giant ship made of metal, is a well-dressed man with a blue tuxedo that is sitting in a gem-inlaid chair. Facing his sharp facial features towards a fleet of five metal ships that dwarf in comparison to the former.
"Captain, we are about to engage the Evertus Kingdom's flagship along with their fleet and the hire of Miracle Grand." A voice in the bridge sounds behind him.
"Captain! We are outnumbered! Five to one!" Another voice in the bridge sounds.
"Captain! they have the nanites of the Miracle Grand!" A voice in the comms next to him sounds.
"...Perhaps this is an even fight then. Battle stations everyone!" A voice hums through the brig as the man gives out his command.
The giant ship changes in shape as strange cones with their point ends cut off come out of the ship. Along with oversized blades that could tear anything that might get their hand stuck in it, it began rotating.
"As people of the Lushi Republic, since they are so desperate for a fight, we give them one!" The man said as he stood up from his chair.
"""Sir yes sir!""" echoed throughout the brig and comms.
"Charge the Pri beams! Load the kinetic deck guns! Ready the missiles! Aim the hook at the flagship!" The man said as he waved his arms at every order.
"Hook armed and aimed; ready to fire!" A voice came through the comms.
"Brace for impact...! Fire!" The ship commander said immediately with no hesitation.
A giant harpoon at the forward deck of the flying ship is launched, which dives straight for the biggest ship of the fleet that is in front. The harpoon pierces through the ship's deck hull and creates large cracks on the deck's integrity. Dust falls from both ships as one is tethered to the other.
"Bring it back! Get ready for close combat!" The man bellowed.
"Aye sir!" A gruff voice came from the comms.
"Pri beams are charged!" A voice came from the comms.
"Kinetic D.U.C.K.s are loaded, sir." A voice came from the bridge behind the captain.
"B-15 Missles are ready, sir!" A voice came from the bridge again.
"Tear them apart! Target the other ships!" The man bellowed once again, spitting out some saliva on the word 'ships'.
A barrage comes to and fro the remaining ships that are still on the sea. The barrage from the flying ship creates multiple large holes in the hull of the remaining four ships, but the hulls repair themselves almost instantaneously.

While the flagship is disabled by the hook's disrupting magical-magnetic distorter, it can't fire. So it is left dangling from the harpoon that is stuck to it while it slowly but surely plummets below, even threatening the anchoring ship.
Instead, intense close combat occurs as a man with a rough appearance, with a goatee and a mustache on his face, leads a team of 6 into the Evertus's flagship. They jump off the forward deck where the hook is and fall onto the ship that is being held up by the harpoon attached.
Armed with a handgun and a sword, the man aims the handgun at the ship and fires it.
"Miracle Grand Robitics Branch. Too bad they are on the cultivator's side." A soft masculine voice sounds from behind him.
"Indeed, we could've already overpowered the Cultivators and driven them off our planet." A powerful feminine voice sounds from his side.
"No need for that, this just gives us more jobs to do. I do enjoy destroying the creations of Miracle Grand and killing their officers." The man with the gruff voice who is leading the charge says.
"To think they call themselves with the 'miracle' in their name, what a joke." A cold masculine voice sounds from behind him again.
"To us, they are just a pain, but for the cultivators, they are truly a miracle. After all, their leader is a Tri-Cultivator from what I've heard." The man with the gruff voice replies. "I've fought against Tri-Cultivators before, and they are seriously a pain in the ass."
"Indeed, it truly is scary to think what a Tri-Cultivator can do as they can fight in close combat, fight at long range, and allow others to fight for it." The man with a cold voice said in agreement. "But us Sustainors can do the same without any inhibitions." A powerful 'bang' resembling gunfire came from the cold voice's direction and blew up a white metallic humanoid that just poked it's head out of the deck.
The head just reforms while the perpetrator of the combusted head just waltz up and obliterates the rest of the robot during it's reconstruction with ease. The rest take similar actions as they encounter the robots themselves when they approached the front deck of the ship.
They all landed and spreaded out on the deck, barging into doors and slaughtered the people on the deck along with destroying the robots they found. The man with the goatee reaches the bridge room of the ship and barges in. In there he sees a man with well-defined features wearing a white coat.
"Welcome to the bridge of my ship. How can I help you?" The man said with an obviously fake smile.
"Uh... I'd like to remove you cultivator scum off this ocean. Then I'd like you cultivator scum to move off our lands. Then I'd like you cultivator scum to move off this planet." The man with a gruff voice said as if he was ordering something to eat while approaching the captain.
"Mmm... I'm afraid we don't have any of those on the menu. But what I can recommend you instead is the dead shitty sustainor on a stick along with the complimentary get the fuck off this planet." The captain of the ship said as he took out a ruler and pointed it at the man with the goatee and pushed him back out of the room. "Sorry, but it is not time yet." The captain pressed a button on the ship controls behind him and spoke into a part of the console with many holes. "Do it now!"
Suddenly, the entire ship shook.
The Lushi Republic's ship was tilting down in the air, as if it was being grounded by the Evertus's ship that had it's hook attached to. The Lushi's ship's crew was a bit alarmed, but not panicked.
"Captain, They are bringing us down!"
"Alright, alright! Discharge the hook! I'll be coming out myself to deal with the other four captains. I'll also be taking a radio with me in case of emergencies. I leave command to you, special officer." The man in a tuxedo grabbed a rectangular box that fit in his fist and poked a man in a black coat with blue trim on his way out.
"Yes sir!" The man in a black coat with blue trim said. He then walked over to the console and stood before it. "Continue firing. Focus one of the Pri beam at their flagship."
"Yes sir!"
The man in a tuxedo left his brig and made his way outside where he sees four people with white coats jumping onto his ship.
"Welcome aboard! Now then, I hope you don't mind me commiting to my business!" The man in a tuxedo said as he cracked his knuckles. The four intruder captains took out their weapons in response.
There was a hulking figure who took out a hammer that emitted a destructive pressure. There was a delicate figure who took out an instrument. There was a slim figure who took out a flying sword. And there was a lanky figure who took out a spear.
"Hmm, good! Come at me!" The man in a tuxedo said as he gestured a taunt at the four. The four attacked him at once.
The man with a spear went straight for his heart, but the man in a tuxedo dodged all of his attempts. The woman with a zither attempted to disrupt his moments, but the man in a tuxedo created a reverb backlog that backlashed against her. The man with a hammer swung down at him, but the man in a tuxedo immediately disarmed him and knocked him down to the ground with a simple punch to the face.
The man with a flying sword had his sword dive straight for him, but the man in a tuxedo knocked the sword away flying with the hammer. "Home run!" The man in a tuxedo mocked as he put his hand in a salute position so he could see how far the sword went.
But he was interrupted by a spear stab that knocked the hammer from him and into the hulk figure's hands. He then was stabbed at again, but this time the man in a tuxedo caught the spear with one of his hands and hit a palm closer to the end where the lanky figure was holding the spear, causing him to fly and let go of the spear.
The man in a tuxedo then spun his spear in multiple circles before stopping and colliding with the incoming flying sword. He sent the sword flying away once again.
"Master-At-Arms!"" The woman with a zither yelled in realization.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk. Close, but it's not a Master-At-Arms, but a Grandmaster-At-Arms." The man in a tuxedo corrected. "Of course you cultivator degenerates can't tell the difference as you can't hope to match my skill with your lousy 'daos'. Alas, this is one of the major advantages of us sustainors, we Master-At-Arms types are only rare, but not unique." The man in a tuxedo gave the spear another spin. "This is why you can't hope to beat me. I can easily disarm any of you and use your own weapons against you with extreme ease without having to worry about any sort of skill penalty!"
The man in a tuxedo knocked the zither off the woman's hands while the hulking figure knocked the spear out of his hands with his hammer. The man jumped into the air, dodging a flying sword that just flew past him and grabbed the zither.
"I haven't fought any zither-focused cultivators in a long while, so please excuse my rustiness." The man in a tuxedo said before he blew into the zither. All four on the deck winced in pain as the flying sword ended up having it's direction of flight disrupted and it stabbed into the woman.
It pierced into her and surface out the other side of her body.
Title unlocked.
The man in a tuxedo looked in surprise at this window and then he gave out a laugh.
"Hahaha! I'm afraid if any of you couldn't kill me earlier, you most certainly can't kill me now!" The man in a tuxedo said as he dropped the zither without a care and grabbed the rectangular box from his pocket and talked into it even though the others could hear. "Give me my set. Activate the array on my word."
"I don't believe that!" The hulking figure roared as he ran at the man in a tuxedo with his hammer, the man in a tuxedo dodged out of the way this time and let the hammer smash onto the ground where it smashed into a rack that had multiple weapons in it that just raised out from inside the ship, causing the weapons to go flying.
Suddenly, five walls appear, boxing in the captains. The weapons bounce off the walls, the man in a tuxedo grabs a curved blade that was about to cut into his head by the blade.
He flips the weapon to then go into a stance. He slashes at the person with the spear who said person parries it, but it was parried into the woman, which the butt end of the spear ended up driving the flying sword deeper into the woman, putting her into a dying state as her cut trachea that connects the lungs to the mouth shows.
"Good job, you've killed one of your own, how many more will you betray?" The man in a tuxedo taunted.
"Don't kill her off so easily!" The man who temporarily lost his flying sword inside the woman shouts.
"Don't forget that you too contributed to the death." The man in a tuxedo rebuked coldly. A hammer much smaller than the hulking figure's knocks the uchigatana out of the man in a tuxedo's hand.
The uchigatana collides with another weapon that was about to decapitate the woman and both objects clatter to the ground as the man in a tuxedo catches another curved blade weapon, this time as a polearm. "Ironic isn't it? It's like death is calling to you all. And I'm just the one who delivers you to it." The man in a tuxedo says as he admires his scythe.
A hammer suddenly lands where the man in a tuxedo was standing at. The man in a tuxedo makes an attempt to cleave the women in retaliation.
But the scythe doesn't cut her and instead sweeps her off the ground and the man in a tuxedo spins once before sending it into the distracted brute. The sword's point end impales the man with the woman still on it, and fall over to their sides.
"I'm not going to lie, making a shish-ka-bob of cultivators does sound rather tantalizing." The man in a tuxedo muses to himself.
A spear then appears where another parry occurs. This time with the man with a spear in a dangerous spot.
"So impatient to join your friends, are you?" The man in a tuxedo mocked. A gauntlet however hits the scythe and once again knocks it out of his hands, preventing him from capitalizing on the spearman's recoil.
The spearman recovers and strikes at the unarmed man. The man in a tuxedo dodges once before the spearman strikes once again, where the man in a tuxedo grabs another falling weapon.
The weapon is two sticks attached to each other with chains. The man in a tuxedo immediately takes a stance and then chains the spear, preventing the spearman from pulling it back, and pulls the spear out of the spearman's hands once again.
"You know, I would think that you wouldn't fall for the old disarm trick." The man in a tuxedo says as the spearman raises his hand in the air and a curved blade that is close to a knife lands in.
"Beggars can't be choosers." The spearman remarked as he pointed his falchion at the man in a tuxedo.
"Hey, that's our idiom. Use your own non-sensical idioms." The man in a tuxedo complained. The spearman just ignored his claim as he charged at the man in a tuxedo. "Well, if that's how you are going to play then, mantis stopping a chariot!" The man in a tuxedo swung his num-chuks at the spearman, the spearman just bats away the num-chuks non-chalantly.
"I'm afraid that's the incorrect usage." The spearman said as he disarms the man in a tuxedo and stabs him once in the pelvis.
"Woah, woah, woah, watch where you are stabbing my good sir." The man in a tuxedo says as he throws him at the transparent blue wall. The man in a tuxedo drops his nunchucks and takes out the falchion.
Only to get stabbed in the back. "Don't forget I'm here too." The slim man said.
The man in a tuxedo stabs behind his head as a response, only to cut air. The man in a tuxedo hurriedly removes the blade in his back. But was too late as he fell over and dropped falchion unwillingly.
You have been paralyzed for 3 seconds while your spine reconstructs.
The man in a tuxedo lays there motionlessly as he watches the lanky figure pull out the sword from the hulking figure and the delicate figure. They both drop to the ground but recover quickly with assistance.
The man in a tuxedo then recovers himself and stands up.
"Good fight. But I'm afraid I can't allow any of you to leave alive." The man in a tuxedo said coldly.
"You and what army?" The lanky figure that reclaimed his own spear said.
"Me as a one-man-army." The man in a tuxedo replied.
Arms Definitive Activated.
The weapons stopped falling as they all had clatter to the ground. The man in a tuxedo seemed completely unbothered however as a transparent handle appears in his hands from out of nowhere.
"While I am eager to find out what unique skill you just used, I don't think it would be good for us to linger in this spot any longer." The hulking figure with a baritone voice said.
"Well, if you plan to leave, I implore you to leave your lifeless bodies behind."
"I'm afraid we're not spiritual cultivators, but martial cultivators." The transparent blue handle in the man in a tuxedo's hand suddenly reshaped into a longer cylinder that projected out at two ends. The four strike at the wall behind them at once while keeping an eye on the man in a tuxedo.
The moment their attacks clash with the repelling of the wall, the man in a tuxedo rushes at them while twirling the rod behind him. The man in a tuxedo then jumps at them and the woman with an instrument sends an attack at him.
Colorful lines manifest at the will of the zither player's and rushes towards the person in the air. The man in a tuxedo clashes with the lines and dissipates them.
He then twirls the rod above him as he lands. The hulking figure thrusts his hammer at the man in a tuxedo and the man in a tuxedo just bats the hammer to the ground and hops on it.
The man in a tuxedo then disarms the hulking figure by stomping on the handle with a large force and flips the hammer to hit the back of the hulking figure's head. The hulking figure collapses the the ground.
The man in a tuxedo blocks the attacks coming from the man with a flying sword and the spearman using both ends of his rod while he jumps on the woman's head and kicks her down to the ground. He proceeds to stop twirling his rod to pierce one of it's ends into the woman.
But he was interrupted as the blue transparent wall behind him shattered and fell. He looked behind him to see a man with tattered clothes with the facial features of a goatee and a mustache that had collided with the wall.
He looks further on to see a man with a white coat also in tatters and looking rather beat up on his face. The fifth captain had shown up the man in a tuxedo was knocked off the girl by the man with a flying sword.
The man in a tuxedo grabs the man with a goatee and retreats back. "Ruegus, to think you would fail."
"Apologies sir... He's also one... that has a... unique skill..." The man with a gruff voice said weakly.
"No need to talk any further, retreat into the medical bay." The man in a tuxedo said as he makes Ruegus stand up.
"Aye sir." The man then stumbles away into the ship where he found and went through a door.
"It seems that someone has crashed into the party uninvited." The man in a tuxedo says as he goes into a stance.
"You think I'm going to allow you to kill these people so easily?" The man in a white coat said in a pompous voice.
"What I have said earlier hasn't changed with the exception of one person being added to it." The man in a tuxedo said in a completely expressionless voice as he stared at the unwelcomed crasher dead-on.
"Good, I hope you don't dissapoint me then!" The man in a coat says as hops forward. The man in a tuxedo hops forward as well to meet the man in a coat.
The man swings his ruler at the rod, the two collide with a small shockwave. The floor below them is damaged from the exchange.
"It appears you are also of the overlord rank. Now come!" The man with a white coat roars as he points the ruler at the man in a tuxedo. A lightning bolt appears from the sky and smites the man in a tuxedo.
The man in a tuxedo takes the lightning bolt head on and suffers from burns. He strikes at the man with a white coat with his rod, colliding with the ruler again.
The man in a coat is knocked back this time and staggers to the unexpected disturbance. The man in a tuxedo takes the opportunity to impale the man in a coat, aiming for the heart.
The other four who were recovering tried to rush in to help but were too late. The rod burns it's way to the to the heart and pierces it. It continues to disintegrate the heart as the man in a tuxedo continues to impale through the back and damages the spine as collateral damage.
Minor Lightning Resistance has reached level 3.
The man in a tuxedo swings his rod back and the four strike at the man in a tuxedo. The man in a tuxedo blocks all the attacks using the man in a coat as a meatshield as a flying sword pierces his stomach, the lines cut the man's legs, the hammer strikes the head, and the spear pierces his chest.
Yuguang Chang was slain.
Title unlocked.
Another one, huh. The man in a tuxedo thinks as he makes a cold sneer. "Today is a great day."
"Need help, Hamphony?" A feminine voice suddenly sounds from the radio.
"Eva? And how are you here exactly?" The man in a tuxedo is sent into a bit of a panic as he hurriedly gets out his radio and speaks to it.
"Look to the left of ya!" The man in a tuxedo and the other four who are still alive and overhear the conversation look to the left and sees an aerial vessel that is colored blue because of the distance between them, but is still visible.
Suddenly the four ships below the flagship and the flying ship combust. Sparing only the still airborne Evertus Flagship and of course, the Lushi Flagship.
"Doesn't matter, the Calvary is here!" A voice of excitement sounds from the radio.

8 177Grim Beginnings
For most, ghosts and monsters were fantasy. For Tessa Byrne-Reyes, they were a constant in her daily life as a reaper. The legendary gods and creatures of mythology were, to her, historical figures. From a young age, she carried the weight of the world on her shoulders, possessing what she saw as a curse but what her family considered a gift. It was her birthright, to use her abilities to guide the deceased to the afterlife of an eternity in peace or in torment. Her classmates viewed her as "the fainting girl" who would pass out in the middle of a lesson with inexplicable injuries. She experienced each death in the town of Belmont Falls, from the mundane to the gruesome. A gunshot wound in the gut, broken ribs, her heart ceasing to beat for several minutes. No one understood what caused these incidents but over the years, she gained a reputation for being abnormal. While Tessa is the freak of Belmont Falls, Fin Belmont, the charming rebel and son of the richest man in town, is her polar opposite. Knowing each other for years but never saying more than a dozen words between them, one night changes everything, thrusting them into each other's unfamiliar and daunting worlds. Together, with the help of her best friend/his ex-girlfriend Elena, they begin to unravel secrets about their town and their pasts, learning that some secrets are better left buried and grudges can be held for centuries.
