《Vampire's Betrayal》Chapter Sixteen

I sat in Donny's closet for most of the night, just staring at the blood bag that David had given me. Just the sight of it repulsed me. Reminding me of the monster I had now become. I was now a creature of myth and it terrified me. This was a life I hadn't expected at all before meeting any of the Seadonnas. None of this was expected, but I did have some good things come out of this life.
The friends I made was one of them. Amanda and Ashley supported me through this life and weren't afraid to give me advice when I needed it. Derik was another person I was glad to call a friend. Even though our relationship didn't start out the best, it still worked out in the end. The last thing I was grateful for were the twins. Never in a million years did I think I would become a mother.
But the dark side of this life kept coming up and reminding me of the truth about what Gene V really was. Every full moon I was destined to crave blood. Something that wouldn't be easy to ignore or hide. It made me wonder how the Seadonnas and Shidonnas were able to do it for all of the years that Gene V was around.
Noises from downstairs made me take my attention away from the blood bag. It sounded like they were having a party. The floor vibrated with music and I could hear people yelling over it. I was pretty sure there were a few sounds of furniture breaking at one point, but I wasn't going to leave my little hiding spot to go check for sure. David or someone else wanted me to hide away until the full moon passed. I wasn't sure why, but maybe it was to protect me from the lifestyle that the Shidonnas lived. It sounded like a lifestyle I didn't want to live.

Suddenly, the sound of a door opening in the room made me look at the closet door. The sound made me turn into a complete statue, staring at the closet door. My ears were tuned into the heavy footsteps walking through the room. My heart beat loudly in my chest. I was pretty sure whoever was walking through the room could hear it. But I had trapped myself by hiding in the closet. If the person found me, I would have no way of escaping.
The footsteps got closer to the closet door. I tried my best to keep my breathing shallow out of pure fear. I'm sure it wouldn't do me any good to try to silence myself more. Whoever was in the room and now coming to the closet already knew I was here. They had proven the point by slowly opening the door. My eyes then connected with bright red eyes.
Donny stood in the doorway, blood trickling down his chin from the corner of his mouth. Just the sight of him scared me. This was the Donny I was told about. Also, it was clear that he was experiencing bloodlust. A situation I only read in books during my schooling with the Shidonna family.
Bloodlust was something for those that either lost their soulmate to death or were rejected by them. Some side effects of bloodlust were blacking out and not remembering any of the actions you did while is bloodlust. But seeing Donny experiencing it told me that he had a soulmate at one point. Judging by the stories told to me about him, she probably rejected him. Feeding off of blood bags and a substitute could minimize the effects of bloodlust, but it doesn't get rid of it entirely. Now I knew who wrote the message for me to hide.

Donny must have known that his bloodlust was getting stronger and felt the need to tell me to at least try to hide. I never removed the chair from under the doorknob that led to the rest of the house. But I didn't put the other one back under the doorknob of the one leading to the private garden. He must have come that way, but if he was determined enough, he could have just broken the glass in the door. It only depended on his determination.
Slowly he walked towards me. Every step he took made my heart skip. I've never really experienced anyone in bloodlust before and it was a terrifying sight. My body instinctively tried to back away from him, but it wasn't any good. The space was too small and he grabbed hold of my arm immediately. I'm pretty sure fear was showing clear as day in my blue eyes as Donny leaned down towards me with an evil smile on his face.
He didn't say anything as he flung me from the closet and into the bedroom. I didn't have much time to think as I got up and pushed him further into the closet. Then my body moved on it's own as I slammed the door shut and grabbed the chair as fast as I could. Slamming it under the doorknob. The force of Donny slamming into the door made the whole wall shake. Making me jump back and out of breath.
I didn't waste time sticking around and went out of the door to the private garden. Jumping over some bushes, I ran into the woods like my life depended on it. Letting my feet lead me to anywhere safe, I ran until my lungs burned for air. When I finally stopped, I had no idea where I was, but I just knew that I was safe. Collasping onto the ground, I gasped for air.
My legs throbbed from running and my throat burned. It felt like my heart was ready to burst out of my chest as I sat on the ground, trying to catch my breath. I knew that even though I was safe for now, I had to go back. I had left everything behind. Also, someone had to let Donny out once the bloodlust faded. But I was too scared to go back. In all honesty, I didn't want to go back.

The Exodus Project
This is the original version of Origin before I rewrote it. It's much more simpler, some names and personalities are a little different. THere's nowhere near as much back story or character development/interaction. But the story is essentially at the end of book one. I wrote this 15 odd years ago, and with a bit of polish it doesn't look too bad. The story like Origin is about a group of college students who find a ship that is the last remnant of an ancient human space faring civilisation, they fix her up and go back into space. Along they way they'll meet alot of aliens, religious fundamentalists and conmen.
