y/n pov

when we got back to where her parents were sitting, they threw sunscreen at us. sitting down on towels we drink a bunch of water and eat some orange slices. just catching our breath. that is until hayden comes in and he shakes his hair wetting dahlia and i again. he plops himself between us taking my orange slice and dahlias water. 

"thanks mate" he laughs eating the orange he didnt get time to drink the water as dahlia elbowed him and took it back. "ow" he complained. 

"so dahlia tells us your an actress y/n" her father states and all i do is nod. "working on anything?" he asks smiley. 

"hes a marvel nerd" dahlia whispers i look down and smile to myself 

"yeah, i am actually. about a month into filming" i smile. 

"whatcha fliming" hayden leans into my shoulder bumping me. 

"top secret" i laugh 

"okay name 1 person in it tho" he trys 

"uh me" dahlia and her mother laugh. 

"one other" he eats another orange slice

"elizabeth olsen" i named the first who came to mind. plus we had been seen together on countless occasions so its not really a surprise we were in a movie together. after a couple more questions with no answers they stopped and we talked about more normal things. 

by now its 11 oclock and we had been surfing since 6. its safe to say i was tired. plus dark clouds started coming in and it was clear we would probably have an afternoon storm. we all went in for one final surf. dahlia convinced me to take one board so we can try and do that 2 person surf again. 

"its not gonna work " i say as i sat on the board dahlia pulling us out

"not with that attitude" dahlia laughs, we get to our spot and I GO TO GET OFF when she has the actual audacity to tip the board over. i fall into the water swimming under and swooping her legs. bubbles fly up as she looses her breath. i let her go so she doesnt drown coming up to the surface myself. 

"bitch" she mumbles coughing. i just laugh we both get on the board remembering how to sit like last time. after a wave or 2 passes we manage to get a good one and prepare ourselves. the wave comes and we start paddling, at the right moment we stand up holding onto eachother to steady ourselves leaning to the side and all that. 

when we go in again we gulp an entire water bottle. before realising hayden and dahlias father we're no where to be seen. "they went to grab some fish and chips" anna explained and i nodded. 

like children dahlia and i began digging a hole. our goal was to me able to sit in it and that. we didnt have any shovels so we just used out hands. we we're getting covered in sand but it was great. sand was threw dahlias wet and curly hair as well as on her cheek and forehead. how she had so much sand was a mystery to me. 

we hear music and poke our head up from the hole to see her mum back with a speaker. no one was near us as most surfers were gone and the familys were down between the flags and such. this meant we werent that awkward family that blasts music. 

her mum started playing artists like, spacey jane, teenage dads, sticky fingers, mako road, skegss that sorta thing. 

dahlia was expanding one of the sides when a small box falls out of the sand. she opens it and laughs jumping out of the hole and getting on one knee. 

"marry me y/n" she laughs holding the ring up

"oh i would be honoured love" she slipped the ring onto my finger and i looked at it. it really looked like an engagement ring. 

"damn someones proposal would've been messed up if this is here then" i say once we got back to work.

"looks expensive to" she adds looking at it over my shoulder. 

"WE COME BEARING FOOD PESANTS" hayden yells. we poke out heads from the whole once again to see both guys carrying 3 bags. chips, fish and calamari. dahlia and i get out of the hole before getting shooed away to go rinse off first in the ocean. 

"ill beat ya" i tell her 

"oh please" she starts before taking off. that sly motherfu. she was already meters ahead so i had to start running. i caught up to her easily. 

"LOSER" i laughed running past her. i can tell she increased her pace. we met at the shore. "told ya" 

"you cheated" she huffed kicking water at me

"your the one who ran first" i laugh splashing water back at her. before i know it shes tackling me into the water. one of these days imma drown istg. (cough)

we walk up to our spot again taking a seat on the same towel and finally getting some food.
