《Dungeon of books》How the tiny world has changed - Chapter 41

Pov - Umbra
The first team finally enters, heading straight for the Demi-Plane book without bothering to talk to Akasha, some of the team even give her some looks of fear. That is beside the point for now because I finally have some real adventurers coming in and going to run through my dungeon. I will finally have people going in and exploring, not just stalling or going in by accident trying to leave. After sitting up on the surface for a while, I got the rules and how they are going to be running my dungeon, they even mention the fact that they truly don’t know If I’m a dungeon. They also gave out some warnings about Akasha, and what surprised me is that they were willing to give out the data they have on their attempt at provoking Akasha to the public without worry. Everything was going well at the surface except for the incident happening… Alright, I’m not going to throw up again, I was close though.
Where was I, Oh! Yeah, I also noticed before the incident happen that the Priestess that got infected by the abyss is still going to enter my Demi-plane at least one more time, Don’t know why though. I thought that was pretty traumatized, but what do I know, I’m not even a human anymore. I’m also not sure why they haven’t cured the abyss from her yet, or maybe they just don’t have the ability to cure her, and from what I know of the abyss with my brief knowledge is that it is probably terrible to anyone, kinda like cancer, so they would have probably put more effort into it if they knew what it. Though I’m wondering about the Priestess and how the abyss is going to affect her, just for reference, I’m not going to mess around with the stuff or anything. Why am I saying this to myself, I already know I’m not, hahaha, yeah, I won’t go messing around with a very powerful and dangerous material… Anyway, I have been wondering how good these adventurers really are compared to my dungeon. Is my dungeon going to be too easy or is it going to kill far too many of them, that is all inconsequential though, because if I’m giving out good materials like what the adventurers are going to want, more are going to be coming in even if it is the most dangerous place around. Greed really is one of the seven sins, you know.

Though, with how the adventurers are dealing with the basic wildlife… animal monster things, I’m going to be on the more dangerous side of things. Off that topic, for a brief amount of time, I mean moment, I finally found where the Rogue from the destroyed team is. He was captured by some Drakekin after they found him collapsed from dehydration, which I thought was going to be a lot harder with stats and things, but no he just passed out like everyone else, though he did have some water on him, and that ended up allowing him to last a week longer than he was supposed to. I only even discovered him because I was looking around the tunnels to make sure everything is ready for the new wave of adventurers, I just happened to find him collapsed and slightly malnourished. So I ordered some nearby patrolling Drakekin to pick him up and bring him down into the fortress, which he was getting surprisingly close to it. I would have thought that he would go to the surface, but no, he went down instead. I originally thought of just killing him, but then a thought hit my mind, he produced that wisp of the concept of pride, so I just detained him for further research.
Also, I’m quite surprised at the things the Drakekin and kobolds have done with the mines. There are some stone mini forts scattered about for some kobolds and high kobolds to manage. The mine is now a better maze with all the twisting and turning that is happening with the kobold's expansion. I was even surprised by the fact the fortress has also had some renovations, with it overall being expanded, them now having some underground space for storage and a few cages. I’m surprised that they even thought of building some cages for their enemies, I always thought that they were just going to kill them, but this just shows that they're thinking on their own. Man, I'm kinda feeling like a proud father that has just sent his kid off to college with a big silly grin and tears rolling down the sides of his face. Well, not really that, but I’m proud at least for what that counts for. I also wonder where they are getting all the food and water, but some things are not meant to be questioned.

Though that is what has happened with the mines, there is an entire surface that has also changed. Even though the monsters are a lot weaker up here than the kobolds, there are still a few things that could harm the kobold operations sitting up here. The most dangerous threat is still the lily golem, but I would say the next biggest threat is the Darkness wolf that fought the Rogue, Oh yeah, and you heard me right DARKNESS wolf, he evolved again. Who am I talking to, now that is a real question? I'll just continue the showcase though, for consistency's sake, I’m surprised that he evolved so fast, I did help, but that's besides the point, he even went back to his pack and killed all of them without mercy, just so he gains some strength, that did not bring him to the point of evolving though, so I gave him a little push by sending as much dark affinity as I could into him. After a few seconds, a cocoon of darkness surrounded him, and then he evolved into a darkness wolf, a -B rank monster.
There are only two other monsters of note, with a third coming along quite nicely. The first one of note is a snake that evolved to have petrifying venom and a paralyzing gaze ability, so I’m kinda hoping that it evolves into a Basilisk or something close to that. The other one of note is a centipede that produces mist so that it could ambush its prey any time of the day, I don’t have a clue on what it could evolve into, but it just seemed pretty interesting, so I noted it down next to the snake. The next one I’m iffy about, but it has at least caught my attention. So it is basically an albino weasel, except for the fact that he is forever hungry and loves meat to the point of burrowing into the flesh of boars to eat them from the inside out, it is a low-level monster, but that doesn't really matter if you're inside a beast. It's scary, but that's all it really is, even a regular kobold can one-shot it, but it is coming close to the level where it evolves, so I don’t really know what to make of it yet. Wait, Now that I have got thinking about it do weasels live in the forest, of course they do what am I saying, I'm probably thinking about an animal that looks similar. So besides me derailing that, I’ll just keep an eye on it for the time till it evolves.
In other news, I change the text on the letter so instead of it just saying investigate, it also mentions the fact that there are now known kobolds there and to investigate deeper, so we might know what the kobolds are doing. So the people will feel like they're being pushed to investigate deeper into the mines, even though there really is no force keeping people in here they just seem to assume there is, so I’m going with that. Also, slightly off-topic, there are more animals now, I don’t know how it happened, but I believe that there is some sort of time acceleration on the animals though there is no actual time acceleration sadly. I’m working on it, but I can’t really use time affinity and there is no option in my advanced creation menu, so I’ll probably have to set it up myself. This is a huge shame, by the way, it would be so much simpler if I could just snap my finger and be done…
Pausing I finally see the adventures enter my Demi-plane, I thought they would have been here a lot faster, but maybe they had an argument, or they were afraid, or something else. All that matters is that their goal is special and not for some stupid reason. Their goal is just to adventure, a true man's passion, and work. Wait, I haven’t thought about this yet, but I don’t have a gender do I, yeah, I’m just a floating book I really didn’t think past that, Oh. and last time I check books don’t have genders… I thought I would be far more freaked out about this. Maybe it has something to do with my corruption, or it could be the fact that I’m a book now, who knows, but at least I got that out of the way. Now onto the next thing, why has my Doppelrat stopped duplicating itself?

8 193{The Dragon Within} (Completed)
Meeting his fate at the hands of seven great heroes, the wicked drake now stands in Death's hall. Met with the Grim Reaper itself. Defeated and its pride broken, the drake doesn’t beg or grovel, it simply awaits judgement. It waits for the God of the afterlife to send it on its way, to either the heights of bliss and peace or where it knew it would be sent. The depths of agony and torture, the halls of Tartarus, the father of monsters. Grim looked up from its oaken desk and down at the creature that would have otherwise, if grown wiser and older, matched the reaper itself in power. Its faceless guise, hidden by a black hood and whirling shadows, it briefly stared at the drake. “You are unfit for the sky yet also too fit for the abyss,” Grim spoke, its voice a cracking whisper. “Your time came too soon, the actions you have taken will lead your world to ruin…Be reborn, pitiful serpent. Yet remember what you have done, see what your actions have made that realm into. Let me show you, how your greed and gluttony have warped such a wonderful place and time.” Grim raised its black-feathered pen towards the beast “Be reborn, as the weak pitiful creature you should have been born as. Take this both as a punishment and…a learning experience. For failure, can be the best teacher.” The drake took a step back, hoping to escape this cruel fate. Yet none escaped Death, less so its embodiment. Screaming shadows engulfed his form, ripping away at his body and shape. Fangs of darkness sinking deep into his draconic flesh, warping it, changing him into something else… Opening his eyes, the wicked drake felt none of its power, none of its magic and none of its might. As it stood at the edge of a cliff, looking down upon a ruined valley of rot and miasma. It glanced down at itself, seeing none of its sturdy scales or sharp claws. The drake had been reborn... As a Human. Will also be posting on CreativeNovels found here; CrN Where chapters will be posted earlier than RRL.
