"What is this?" I was hearing it umpteenth time in the last 3 days that Neel was here. No, I wasn't irritated on the contrary I was amazed at how the tiniest of all things fascinated him. I looked behind to see what he was holding this time.

Electricity fascinated him.

Telephones fascinated him.

Showers, water taps, faucets, refrigerators, everything. He was bold enough, trusting me, and trying all of it.

Standing beneath the shower, or entering the bath tub filled with water, placing hand in the refrigerator, drinking various fluids and having different meals.

He trusted me with everything.

This time it was my hair straightener.

I sighed to myself 'this is going to be a long discussion.'

Out of all the things that Neel saw, Neel hated my makeup products. "why would you even voluntarily opt for self harm." He once said when I had shown him my entire waxing kit. He was curious enough to try it, and I can't believe he said "cutting yourself with a sword is less painful."

I felt bad for myself who will have to deal with an annoyed Neel after I tell him that I practically burn my hair at their length so that they appear straight.

"What's that?" he was still excited.

"That's used to straighten your hair." I turned back again to not face him hoping he would stop his questions. But as inquisitive as he was we all know this wasn't going to stop.

"How does this work." He was always curious to find the logic that the developers found before they made the device.

I tried my best to explain him in the easiest way possible of how hydrogen bond breaks when heated and cools down to adapt to the shape you keep the hair into, and how this thing works using heat and electricity, and why do females do all sort of things that are self destructive.

Out of all the things he had discovered in this tiny hotel room, his favorite was the 3D television that we had in the room. Since he was unwell when he time travelled here, I had decided to not take him to the outside world, until he gets acclimatized better here.

I thought he'll get bored in one day in this room, but I guess my brain was dead.

I forgot it was Neel. He is the 'Alice in this Wonderland.'

He had watched 7 historic movies, and was intrigued by a current historic series on television. The movie was suppose to be serious and all he could do, more often than not was to laugh, curse, appreciate and sigh.

"Nice cinematography."

A zillion of comments at every shot and I could only sit there and admire. He never said he missed his family or his world, but that did not mean that he did not. I knew at the end of the day, he would think of his world atleast once.

That every small things here and there would remind him of his world somehow.

I could see it in the faint smile he gave as he saw the simplest of all the objects, zoning out, thinking about his world.
