Being a base class is really annoying. I don’t feel all that powerful compared to when I was lvl 5, even though I became lvl 14. I am tempted to get another base class or a random super class, or even to just turn the levels to skill or stat points. However, Red Point told me not to, so I guess I shouldn’t do it.
Anyways it’s good that Yuri joined our squad. If Yuri hadn’t joined, absolutely nothing would be different probably, but still, it is good he joined. Any problem with my logic? Nope! I see none.
“Yuri, how much land did you say you will give me?”
“All of Cauylin province.”
“YES! I am going to be rich and powerful.”
“Wait, how are we going to get to the Country in the Sky?” Jaystyke suddenly asks, then adds “Isn’t the passageway to Sky very secret?”
“Well, now you will get to know where one of the passageways exists, I am going to use the passageway in Treansendis, which is currently known as Lolkaria.” Yuri answers. Then adds, “It is located in the center of Lolrena, pretty far from the Liria and the dangerous tundras.”
“Aww, that’s good” Jaystyke adds, but Yuri intervenes.
“Nope, we gotta go through the Tundra, pretty large amount of it.”
“Aww, that’s awful” I say. Yuri changes his voice and starts to say,
“Tundra is the least of our worries, the people we gotta deal with are much, much worse.”
“Mmm… so why are we helping you again?” asks Renova.
“Because if we succeed, all of us will be rich and successful.”
“And if we fail?”

“Mmm… you 3 will probably just lose a life or get imprisoned.”
“And you?”
“I will probably get wiped by them.”
“Are you sure you want to do this?” I ask. Then I add.
“Why don’t we go into hiding and live happily ever after?”
“Uh, no thank you.” he says in a firm voice. Then adds,
“Maybe I’ll let you do whatever you want after we win, but not ‘till then.”
Wait then he is going to let me do whatever I want after I win? HOW COOL! I will definitely crush the enemy.
“You are going to regret saying that, Yuri,” comments Renova.
“Let’s go straight to the SKY! I am starting to miss my old home.” I shout.
“Ye… about that” halters Jaystyke. “I recommend we go meet Nora and Ace in Liria. For reasons mmm… I am not sure how to put this into words.”
“We can’t lose any time helping Yuri! Especially if it doesn’t have reasons.” I haller.
“It has reasons, just I can’t explain them right now.”
“Can’t be explained? Then it’s good as none.” I say.
“Wait, wait, wait hold on.” Renova interjects,
“How do you even know that they are in Liria?”
“Ye… about that, mmm…”
“JAYSTYKE? What is it? Hmm?”
“Uh… it’s nothing you should be concerned about, probably.”
“Then you better say it Jaystyke.”
“How about we go there first?”
“NO! Jaystkye, I want the answer NOW!”
Dang… Renova is damn scary sometimes. Tension is high up at the top, no joke… Jaystyke better say whatever he is hiding, or I don’t think this is going to end well.
“Ye… about that…” Jaystyke keeps mumbling.
“Nora told me to come to Liria when I receive a signal from her transmitter.” Then he adds,

“It’s nothing personal, I promise.”
“Well, then why did she ask you to come to Liria? And not us?”
“Yall can come if yall want to but she asked to come to Liria because I said I wanted Lolrenian citizenship.”
“Why would you even want a Lolrenian citizenship?” Renova questions.
“I don’t consider FGU nor the Hab Kingdom as my home country. I have good experiences with neither. Instead I want to start a new life in the grounds of Lolrena.”
“Wait? How about me?” Renova asks in a frustrated voice.
“I was wishing you would come too, but you didn’t seem to want to leave this forest. You seemed happy here.”
“Duh, because you are here. You should have asked.”
“Wouldn’t you have said no?”
“Obviously not, my home isn’t something stationary, anywhere with you is my home.” Renova says in the cringiest manner possible.
“Really? Then would you come to Liria with me to build a home and start new adventures there?”
“Obviously, you should have asked earlier.”
“I am sorry… Renova, I will next time, I love yo…”
“CAN YOU FUCKING STOP!?” I shout. Then I shout again.
“THIS IS NOT YOUR BEDROOM, YOU CAN DO ALL THOSE WHEN YOU BUILD YOUR OWN HOUSE IN THE LIRIA BUT NOT NOW!!!”
“Whoa, chill out Melarie we are sorry,” Renova apologizes.
“Alright so we're going to Liria?” Yuri asks.
“Yes, I guess. Can’t separate those lovebirds,” I answer with a sigh.

Shift (Ben 10+DCU Fanfiction)
Omnitrix+ DCU, what's not to like? The main character will not be Ben Tennyson, rather someone from our world who gains the Omnitrix Hello! This fanfiction Shift is what I wanted to do for an homage to what I thought were underrated pieces of media, Ben 10 and some DCU characters. However, I would be remiss if I didn’t add context to two of the major works that inspired Shift, Dial, and A Practical Guide to Evil. Dial is another ben 10 fanfiction, however that story takes place in the MCU, and with an adult that is already a grown-up at the beginning of the story. Dial, by my own accounts, is more superficially Like shift, even though the Omnitrix is a central device in both. My protagonist starts out around 18 years old, so is less serious and can build relationships with some of the junior justice league members, and then later on in the story meet the Justice League officially. The tone will be more light-hearted at the beginning of the story as teenagers are known to use sarcasm and jokes at each other’s expense. Furthermore, in Dial, the protagonist has a well-developed knowledge of the MCU which he uses to have knowledge on events and characters, that the character in Shift will not have. While the MC will have some knowledge of people's abilities, lesser-known characters and people's real identities will be not included as much, but the MC of Shift will have some knowledge. APGTE's influence is deeper than Dials'. The epigraphs at the beginning of every chapter are an example of that, a place for light-hearted jokes and worldbuilding that's not pure exposition, but I also want to incorporate narrative stories to Shift (heroes win more than lose, providence, etc) on a lighthearted scale. While the heroes of Shift will have to work to win against villains, the MC of Shift will be allowed limited precognition, through narratives tropes and archetypes as a trade-off of less knowledge of the DCU. For example, a villain a hero faces might monologue, but the MC will not instinctively know how to counter every villain they encounter. I also wanted to bring in more realism than usual superhero stories, ie: the MC cannot just walk and have a meeting with Batman or Superman, he would have to “work his way up” in terms of credibility and whatnot. The Aliens that show up in Shift I tried to make different than the ones in Dial, just to share the love for lesser-known characters. And to make it fairer for the villains of the DCU, the main character will not wantonly use if gain at all an Alien X or a ben 10 form of Kryptonians, just so the characters have to work a little bit for victory. I urge anyone reading to consider checking out both APGTE and Dial as they are both amazing works, and I hope you enjoy them. The beginning of how the MC enters the DCU will not be as important as him actually existing in that universe, so that is why a ton of time is not spent on that part of the story. Chapters will be around 2.5 thousand words and come out around every weekday.
