Fenrir
“Before I get to what I wanted to ask you,” Leon says after I respond to him using an inscribed stone, “would you mind explaining what this room is for? I can tell that it’s probably for portals, considering the arcs, but how do we activate them?”
And you’re asking me this, instead of just figuring it out yourself like usual?
That’s odd, but I might as well answer. I am in a good mood after all.
Although I feel like there was something else he didn’t say out loud in that sentence. Like an unasked question about how I am able to make portals already.
Which is a little surprising, considering how his sister seems to have already guessed what my element is, even if she hasn’t actually said it out loud.
Has she not told him?
Not to mention those Vampires, but I think they came in here without the City Lord’s permission, so it would make sense that they didn’t tell him.
Anyways, I quickly explain the usage of the portal arcs to him, making him look rather surprised for a second before he nods his head.
“Thank you,” he says before glancing at the entrance and saying, “as for why I wanted to speak with you,” Leon turns to look at the stone again, “I wanted to ask if you could make another instance.”
Oh?
‘Reason?’ I inscribe on the stone in front of him.
“Ever since you reached Tier 2, more and more Knights have been showing up in the city to enter your dungeon,” he begins to explain, even waving his hand to indicate the few Knights standing guard around the room, “and it’s reaching the point that we don’t have enough time in a day to let as many people go in as we would like, so the Knights outside are starting to get a little rowdy. Especially with your recent closure.”

Hmm.
I glance at Dawn, only to find her still watching the other intruders admire the first room.
Guess it couldn’t hurt to make another instance.
Just means I get more intruders.
I glance back at the City Lord before inscribing, ‘It will take a few days,’ on the stone.
Leon nods his head and says, “Thank you.”
He then begins to leave my dungeon with the guards following behind him.
I watch him leave for a moment before turning my attention back towards the intruders in the other instances of my dungeon.
Sometimes I really wonder just how much wealth I’m making that Hybrid. And if he’ll always be the City Lord for the city above my dungeon.
“I told you the aesthetics are important,” Dawn’s smug sounding voice suddenly interrupts my thoughts, dragging my attention towards her.
“Yes, you did,” I respond back before looking back at the intruders again and adding, “and they certainly seem to like the room. But does that actually change whether they’ll challenge the dungeon or not?”
“After all, they’re in the dungeon already, so they were already about to challenge it,” I state rather plainly, “and having a nice looking first room won’t really change much about that.”
One of the groups of intruders finally begins to move on into the second room, which used to be the first but was pushed back to add the new entry room.
“It’s not a matter of influencing these intruders,” Dawn suddenly starts talking, sounding as if she’s about to lecture me about something, “it’s that these intruders will tell others about the room, and that might pique their interest, making them want to come check out our dungeon over the others that are out there.”
I glance at her for a second before returning my gaze to the last group of intruders still in the first room right before another group enters the first room of a different instance.

If that’s really how it works, then there’s even more about these intruders that I don’t understand.
They’re coming to my dungeon, and other dungeons, in order to fight and grow stronger. Not to admire the aesthetics of the dungeon.
So why would a dungeon’s appearance matter when they’re just gonna be fighting for their lives anyways?
I watch the intruders still admiring the first room for several minutes before glancing at the group of Knights currently rushing through my Tier 1 floors.
At least I won’t have to spend mana to respawn the monsters and traps ruined by the Tier 2 groups after they get their keys.
Because it’s honestly just a waste to constantly do that.
There isn’t any possible way that the Tier 1 traps or monsters could kill a Knight, so it’s basically just throwing them away.
They don’t even benefit the Knights either thanks to the EXP cap per floor. Not that that’s a bad thing, but still. It’s literally just a pointless waste of time to have them go through the Tier 1 floors.
I glance back at one of the groups still admiring the entrance hall.
Are they just going to stay there all day?
Even I have to admit that the room looks rather nice, but you should at least go through the dungeon instead of wasting an instance to gawk.
Dawn, as if reading my mind, suddenly says, “Don’t worry, the intruders just have to get used to the entrance hall and they’ll be moving through your floors again like before.”
I watch the intruders for a few more minutes before muttering, “I hope you’re right about that.”
Putting the gawkers aside for the moment, I turn my attention towards my lab, or more specifically, the void element World Energy flowing throughout the room.
It’ll probably take me about twenty or so hours to recover the rest of my mana, so I’ll just cultivate for now.
Then I can go and make that fourth instance.
In fact, since I already finished most of my experiments, and I have plenty of this void element World Energy to cultivate, I might as well wait another day and make a fifth instance along with that.
I glance at the entrance hall again for a moment before remembering something.
Right, I still have to do that as well.
Before I start cultivating, I hurriedly create three small gems and place them above the entrance door on the outside of the dungeon.
Each of these gems is linked to one of the instances and should glow when there is someone inside of said instance.
I hear a commotion coming from outside that doesn’t last for long before I turn my attention back to my lab and begin cultivating.
