“Alright Tom, are you in position?” Kalina said through the receiver in my earpiece.

“I’m getting there. I started looking in car one. But I haven’t found him yet. By the by, why are there so few operatives on the train again?” I asked, moving through the cars looking for the Bruno and his two editors. I put my arm through the other strap of my backpack. With my backpack secured across my back, I continued to walk through the train cars.

“We wanted to limit how many of our operatives are on the train, so we don’t spoke the criminal.” Kalina said, through the receiver I could hear the clicking of a keyboard. “I’m pulling up the GPS location of everyone on the train.”

Reaching the end of the car, the doors of the bullet train door opened up to reveal the next car’s door. When I walked through next door, there were more passengers. Some were sitting down, others were digging in their cargo above their seats. Standing in the middle of the aisle towards me was the ticket collector. The women finished checking the ticket of the person sitting in front of her and then looked in my direction.

“Okay, I can see the other 4 operatives’ locations on the 17-car bullet train. There is an operative in car 9 with you now. The car right now. They're actually approaching you.” Kalina said into the receiver. As a reached the ticket collector, she winked at me. Then she checked my ticket. “3 cars down is another operative disguised as a train attendant. Along with the ticket collector, they will move throughout the cars searching for the Killer Moderator. Staged in cabin 17 towards the back of the train is one operative and the other is in car 1 near the conductor’s cabin. Both of them are disguised as passengers. If you need further backup, don’t hesitate to call them.”

The ticket collector gave me back my ticket and then leaned in. “Pleasure working with you, Detective Morningstar. My name is Fatima. I checked Bruno’s ticket in car 4. He’s with his two editors right now.”

“Thanks, and you can just call me Tom.” I said, walking past her. I made my way towards Bruno’s car. “Alright Kalina, I’ll call in if I find anything.

“A word of advice before I leave, Tom. Stay calm, think things through and always remember only one truth will prevail.” Kalina said.

“Roger that, captain.” I said, walking into the car with Bruno. Siting in the seat facing the entrance I walked in was Bruno, talking to his editors. There was one next to him dressed in completely black and with snake bites underneath his lips. He looked like he just came from a pop punk convention. Walking past his group, I took a seat that was a row across and one back so I could not only see them but also hear their conversation. The other editor looked was dressed in street wear. He pulled his hoodie over his head and put his hands inside his oversized baggie cargo pants.

Alright which one of you is the killer. I said pulling out a book from my bag pretending to read.
