All parents are guardians of the future

as we watch over the young and innocent.

We all want things to remain as they were

but time flies by and I wonder where it went.

Parents all enjoy watching their kids grow

but the time moves faster than we’d prefer.

There are some years we wish would go slow

yet the pace is the same for both him and her.

Time isn’t infinite, eventually we all must go

into the great unknown and leave them behind.

We all hope our kids preserve, go with the flow

and will have new people and adventures to find.

I miss my kids everyday, life is dull without them

but wish them love and peace in the days to come.
