《Aliens.exe》Chapter 72 - Defence is the Key

“Commander!” bellowed Captain Scheider across his radio. “Where is your backbone?”
“It’s in my back, Sir, and that is where I intend it to remain,” said Horace, Commander of the Eternal Warriors.
“Commander, if the Crawklings get past you, your backbone will be anywhere but in your back.”
“In a stew is far more likely,” muttered Ivan under his breath, referring to one of the more substantiated rumours about Crawkling etiquette.
“Commander,” stated Captain Scheider, with the kind of gentle assertion in his voice that was all the more convincing due to its lack of volume, “if you do not man up and defend your outpost with the kind of dedication and bravery your race is known for, we are all doomed. You are our last hope. You did it last time - do you not remember the seven day-Siege of the White Centre which your ancestors heroically survived even though the Tuesday afternoon delivery of crisp multipacks had been unable to get through?”
“I do remember it, Sir, we are all taught it as children.”
“And did your multipacks get delivered this week?”
“Of course Sir.”
“So you are ready. Gather your soldiers and your packets of emergency crisps. Stand united, eat your crisps now to save time in an emergency. Fight the Crawklings, forever courageous until we can get there and back you up. You must hold them off for now, and if you can buy us the time, we will defeat them together.”
“I….I’ll see what I can do Sir,” replied Horace, and the line went dead.
Captain Scheider put his head in his hands. “We’re doomed…” he said.
Ivan knew it must be bad, as Captain Scheider had never shown doubt in his entire life.

“But, Sir,” he said. “They’re the Eternal Warriors, the single greatest race of fighters known to man. They will hold the White Centre, that is why they were put there.”
“Gah… In theory you are right, but did you hear him? They have gone soft. The Eternal Warriors have got so comfortable knowing that there has been no war for hundreds of years, that they haven’t even been training. In Horace’s own words, well we’re in the middle, even if there was a war they’d have been defeated before they got to us. And if they do hold them off, more Crawklings will come. Who are we going to send to help them? There’s no ships left.”
“OK then,” said the defiant Ivan. “You need a swift reminder. You are Captain Scheider, the greatest military leader in the universe. You can do this. You will find another way.”
“My boy, you’re right!” said Captain Scheider, sitting up straight and alert once more. “I don’t know what came over me. I knew there was a reason I gave you a promotion though.”
“A promotion?” said Ivan, beaming broadly.

Queen in the Mud
A girl suddenly vanishes from her world and finds herself drifting in and out of consciousness in a world of pure darkness. Queen in the Mud is an unusual litrpg novel featuring a female monster protagonist as she makes her way through a vicious untamed world ruled by a "system." (Book one of this story is now available on kindle unlimited. To satisfy exclusivity requirements on that platform, the chapters here have been removed. Here is a link to the book on amazon. I do plan on posting chapters for book two on royal road, but I don't currently have an estimated date for release.) (Cover art by Monomus)

Dungeon of Ideas
My name is Marshall Scott Law, I was a young rich bachelor who fell onto money when I inherited it from my Grandfather who died when I was twelve. For my inheritence I was given a little over one hundred million dollars. Instead of using the money to start a buisness I instead started to invest, after making some decent cash I decided to retire and live my life fishing. I died during a kidnapping gone wrong and when I thought all was lost I reincarnated as a dungeon. Sorry for the bad synopsis they just arent my forte. This is supposed to be a novel roughly based on a general guide while almost everything else will be decided by you the readers. I will make the first room but after that everything else is up to you guys.

Same Crap, Different World
A young man from early 21st century wakes up in a different world. This world is like a typical setting of an fantasy isekai novel. But it is also not. There is magic, alchemy, magical creatures, different non-human races, peasants and nobles, demons and dragons. But there is also politics, persecution, supremacism of every kind, entitlement, slavery and other unpleasant human tendencies. In short, this new world does not differ much from his old one. However, besides him, there may be others who have made such a strange trip, and awakened into this new world. There certainly have been others, in the past. But more than people and other living things, there have been items. All sorts of items, which are regarded as otherworldly artifacts with unknown danger and power. And he himself is an artifact as well, albeit a living one. Therefore he has use for the powers that be. He is also given a role and expectations to fulfill, to hide his real value. And in all that he still has to make sense of what has happened, what is happening, and find a way back, if possible. Author's note: I write this project mostly in (except chapter 1) in 60-100 page (40,000-70,000 word) chapters, edit them as such and later cut them down for publishing into 7-11 page segments (depending on natural breaks in the flow). Therefore, each chapter may be divided into 10-15 subchapters.

At The Lions Gate
In the 20th century America reinvented itself. Devastated by depression, scarred by war, rocked by a revolution, Americans banded together to preserve their country and their freedom. They had faith in themselves, faith in one another, and for those who believed…faith in God. This novel tells the story of one American who lived through those turbulent years….years that would test his character and the character of a nation. For Josh Sanders it begins in 1935. A star athlete in school, pro football is a ticket out of poverty during the Great Depression; but when his father, a WWI veteran, is killed during a robbery, Josh’s spirit is broken, and with it his boyhood dream. To honor his father Josh joins the war effort in 1942, distinguishing himself as a fighter pilot, until a fateful decision near the end of the war changes the course of his life once again. But many years later, after a stint as a boxer and a failed marriage, Josh finds his calling…at a time when the country is at war with itself. The year is 1968. King and Kennedy have been killed, race riots are breaking out, and Vietnam has become an albatross, causing massive protests across the country. In the streets of San Francisco Josh watches a crowd of students march for peace. As a veteran he’s conflicted, toward the war and those who oppose it. But when he encounters Rosy Goldin, a spirited young protester in need of help, a voice from the past calls him to action. His good intentions are soon tested when Rosy falls in love with the fugitive anti-war activist Erick White, a young man determined to oppose the war at all costs, against the wishes of his own father. Fearful of what happens to Rosy, Josh confronts Erick, unwilling to be part of his plan to escape…until he meets the boy’s father. A high-powered criminal attorney, Karl White is also a flag-waving patriot demanding that his son follow the law. But as White makes his case Josh is jolted by a painful war-time memory, a crisis of conscience that will soon determine the fate of Rosy Goldin and Erick White.
