“Ugh,” Zoe grumbled after waking up at 1 AM. Her vision was a tad blurry, she had a headache, felt warm to the touch, and felt sick on her stomach. A notification was flashing. Zoe checked it and could make out that she was infected with a virus. “The hell?”
Her eyes widened in alarm when it hit her. She had never scanned the music Lionel and Rita had given her. Then something else hit her and Zoe jumped out of bed and ran into the bathroom.

Zoe called Doc Brown’s clinic and Sonya answered the call. “Hey Zoe. What are you doing up so late? And if you don’t mind me saying, you look terrible.”
“Hey Sonya. I’m sick, and I’m infected with some sort of virus,” Zoe quickly explained. She then threw up again.
“Alright. Give me access and I’ll clean it out,” Sonya said establishing a secured connection with Zoe. A few minutes later, the nurse declared Zoe clean. “The virus was something called Plague, and it was in some music files. Where did you get the music from?”
“Two of my friendly co-workers,” Zoe answered. She explained about Lionel and Rita, how they had always been so nice, the daemon, and the music.
“Hmmm. That Plague daemon is nasty. Giving people flu and other bad sickness symptoms isn’t nice,” Sonya said terminating the remote connection. “You might want to be more cautious with who you are friends with. Some people pretend to be nice when they really aren’t.”
“Yeah… So, I shouldn’t use Plague when someone attacks me?” Zoe asked.
“Oh no. This thing is vicious and fast acting, but as you know, non-lethal. If someone attacks you or even threatens you, use it on them,” Sonya laughed. “I’ve made a copy of it and will use it myself. I’m going to share it with the Doc and the others too.”

“Why didn’t I get sick earlier?” Zoe inquired.
“Plague was set on a timer,” Sonya answered and then grinned. “There are no holes in your firewalls or ICE. This one is something you let in the front door.”
“Guess I’m a country bumpkin after all,” Zoe muttered.
“Nah. Wanting to trust others to be good is a good thing,” Sonya replied. Her grin then turned into a smile which she hoped would help take the sting out of her next comment. “It might make you naïve though.”
“I reckon I don’t have things figured out like I thought I did,” Zoe said.
“You’re young. You’ll figure it out eventually,” Sonya said. “Lord knows it took me a long time to figure stuff out.”
“You’re not that much older than me,” Zoe replied.
“Ha! I have you by at least a decade,” Sonya replied. “Thanks for the compliment. And no, I’m not going to tell you how old I am.”
“Fair enough. Thanks for helping me out,” Zoe said.
“Don’t worry about it. I’ll be sending you a bill,” Sonya replied giving Zoe a cheeky grin.
Zoe’s eyes widened as she checked the message that just came in. “You did send me a bill!”
“Well, yeah. This is a clinic, and we have bills to pay too,” Sonya said.
“At least you only charged 100 credits,” Zoe replied transferring the money to the clinic’s account.
“That is the friends and family discount,” Sonya quipped winking at Zoe.
“Thanks again. I’m going to take a bath and plot my revenge,” Zoe said.
“You’re welcome and good luck,” Sonya replied shaking her head and disconnecting the call.
“Now, how am I going to get back at those two?” Zoe wondered as she started running water in her tub.

“Nucky, what are you still doing here?” Tony asked his boss.
“Just thinking,” Capone replied.
“About?” Tony inquired.
“Read the letter,” Nucky answered gesturing to the paper on his desk. Tony picked it up and read the letter.
“What in the world could the other dons be wanting?” Tony asked.
“That’s what I’ve been wondering about all night after that letter arrived,” Nucky replied.
“Whatever it is, it must be big. The five families haven’t met together in half a decade, which was when you became a don,” Tony mused. He grinned. “Since the others are demanding you to attend, perhaps you’re getting a promotion to godfather.”
“Doubtful, thought that would be what I deserve. You know as well as I do, there are only two ways to get that title. The main way is by taking over…” Capone said.
“And the other is by being appointed successor,” Tony concluded. Nucky nodded in agreement.
“And since there isn’t a current godfather, that just leaves a bloody takeover,” Nucky replied.
“So, what should we do about the meeting? Not attend?” Tony asked.
“Oh, we’re going,” Nucky said. “As much as it pains me, our family isn’t strong enough to take on the other four families at this time.”
“I’ll be sure to have Sal with us,” Tony said. “He can load up on daemons, so we have some extra oomph in addition to the boys’ muscle.”
“Good idea,” Capone replied. “Let’s move up the bank job too. Blanco might not have the rep we wanted her to have, but it’s time.”
“Think we might need the money?”
“Yeah, something tells me we will,” Nucky answered. “Have Blanco deliver our invitation acceptance tomorrow.”

Mordheim: Servants of The Damned (A Warhammer Fantasy Fiction)
“The Great Library,” Stated the stranger with a pause. “You know of it?”“Of course I do. In the Merchant’s Quarter?”“Yes, in the Merchant’s Quarter. I have gathered that there is an… artefact of importance within its walls.” Slowly, the figure produced a rusted key from the furls of his robes and held it in a black-gloved hand. “This opens the door to its chambers. It is the grimoire of Gunnar von Krugenheim, and I believe that it would serve better in the world than locked away in a dusty room.” Behind the cursed walls of Mordheim, warbands and gangs of all stripes are embattled in constant wars for resources and power. The cursed city attracts throngs in the thousands, searching for treasures, artefacts, power, and sometimes all three. The Cult of the Hidden Brethren is no exception, and when an opportunity to extend their reach is discovered, the cultists are eager to take the opportunity. However, not all is set in stone, and soon the cultists discover that the lure of power alone may not be enough to give them the drive required to see their quest done... --- Mordheim: Servants of the Damned is a fanfiction set in the world of Warhammer Fantasy, which is not owned by me but by the company Games Workshop. I of course, lay claim to nothing in this story but the characters I have created, and the core events of the story itself. This is my first true foray into fantasy writing, let alone Warhammer Fantasy, therefore any feedback is welcome. (It should be noted as well, the cover art is merely an artwork I found online and is not mine, therefore I do not lay claim to that either.)
