Rot and Redemption
Description:
At the end of it all, you’ve made a choice. We’ve all made choices; but these ones brought you here.
No longer are you trapped in a prison of your own design, but you now are trapped by the consequences of your own actions. Fight against it all you may, there is no escape this time.
Worlds are falling, dying, and disappearing. Will you do nothing but watch as your fellow conscious beings are slaughtered by that which call themselves gods?
Fight.
Fight against them and redeem yourself. Redeem yourself for the final time.
It ends here.
Prologue: A Wake-Up Call
With my new reality laid bare before me, I knew that I was in for something big. Sometimes I would struggle with accepting facts shown in front of me plainly, and other times I would underthink something extremely complex.
This would appear to be both right now.
I accepted the demon’s offer when they asked if I wanted to become a demon. I thought, hey, why not accept his offer? It’ll be the right thing to do. I can just go off and kill some demons, just like we both want.
Then why is it so complicated?
Some demons can be killed, others can’t. There appears to be some kind of ‘threshold’ where they become immortal or something. It made sense so far, but why the demon at the bottom of those hellish floors couldn’t just raise me to that level of power confused me.
It was something about ‘impossible’ and ‘stop acting like a child’.
Honestly, fair points. This was just a lot different from what I was expecting once I made it to the bottom. What happened before this point was something straight out of a horror novel. It is something I wouldn’t wish upon my worst enemies, not even some of the demons that exist here.

It’s over now though. There is no more horror to go through, at least by definition. I was moving up in the world, moving on to bigger and better things! Rather, I hoped so at least, it would make the decision to become some undying being a bit lighter in my mind.
Where do I go from here, and where does it end?
I guess I just keep doing what I’ve always done; I just keep walking forwards until I find my goal. I’ve never been one to think too hard about the more complex stuff, even to a fault, but why start now? Though, having the objective of killing all demons is vague and could take a very, very long time.
Then I still have Ophelia to consider. She basically straight up said that she was a demon when I went back into my own past, if that was even real. I do have reason to believe it is based on a few factors, but the whole thing is just strange. I can guarantee it involves time travel in one way or another. I hate paradoxes.
That brings me to the final point… when and where does it end? Will I be happy once I kill every demon, will I even be the good guy anymore? At what point is it not fair to kill all the demons, I’m sure there are a few that align closer to good, just like I hope to.
I can’t predict it, so I’ll think about it later.
For now, I had to figure out how I was going to walk forwards. I was going to have to figure out how to find other demons, how to actually stop them from destroying worlds. Actually, I was going to have to figure out how exactly they manage to destroy worlds.

I got basic descriptions while I was still in the floors, but I can’t for the life of me put it all together yet. Perhaps one day I’ll understand the reason for it all. Why I ended up here, and where I’ll go from there. For now, I’m just going to live life one step at a time.

A Sinner's Eden
The Earth of the future is united under a single government, but not all things are well. The shape of the playing field may be changed, but the powerful still rule the weak. And those who do not conform with the rest of society are exiled to another world. A world that not even the technology of the future managed to tame.It should have been humanity's New World but ended up as nothing more than a penal colony. A place where the exiled are sent to die. Motivated by revenge, Magnus sets out on a quest to bring his own justice to his enemies. For that purpose, he is willing to go further than most others. But then he learns that if he truly wishes to change things, he can only find his answers beyond the gate. Having lived most of her life as an exile, Astra is a woman of few interests aside from survival and climbing the ranks of her clan.To achieve those goals, she certainly won't be squeamish when a chance literally falls into her lap, or will she? ——————————————————————————————— I am trying to go with a survival/medieval setting in this one. People from a technologically advanced society are thrown into a world where they can't maintain their tech. They are forced to rely on medieval technology where they have to make do with the limited resources they have and what little of their old technology is still working. Their gene manipulation allows them to have something akin to superpowers, but that doesn't help much against the monsters of their new world. Not sure yet whether sufficiently advanced technology will be discovered later on to count as magic. ——————————————————————————————— Author's Comment: I was asked about reading my work on other sites. The answer is simple: Currently, I am not active in any other networks than royalroadl.com. Only here, I correct mistakes and errors. If you read it anywhere else and have to pay for it or have to deal with an annoying amount of advertisement, You Are Being Betrayed. You would do good if you make other people in that network aware of it. This is a free project of mine for the purpose of having fun. And if people try to make money with it you shouldn't bother visiting their website. The only one whom I actually allowed to have my work on his website is Armaell who invested the time to compile them into pdf. (http://armaell-library.net/author/andur)

Glitched! Uplift Arc
[Winner of the April 22 Royal Road Writathon Challenge] In 2202 the System reached Earth. Thankfully it had learnt from previous uplifts and implemented an introductory arc to acclimatise the new participants rather than chucking them in the deep end. The previous practice of just dumping unsuspecting beings into a System designed for the growth of the multiverse had led to catastrophic and sub-optimal results. The return on investment was abysmal. That old trope was so over-cooked - after nearly extinguishing itself through negative returns new policy was required. That was 356 trillion local years back. Now over 5600 successful uplifts had joined the ranks of the multiverse. But the System was always learning, always growing. Still there were glitches. Mostly minor. Mere irritants really. Sometimes even they were catalysts, triggering a fresh expansion. Soon the System would understand why. Our Earth was 7912th. - Ascend - Battle - Challenge - Dominate - Expand - Gro... - Glor... - Where’s the eff word? - Glitch... File corrupted. ---END SYN---

The Storytellers
Myra Kahani lives in a world of gods and prayers. People around her constantly reach out to the gods for advice and suggestions at critical times in their life. But Myra has a problem. No matter what she does, she can't talk to the gods. When Myra meets Roam, an old, enigmatic Storyteller, she finally gets some answers. She learns of the origins of the Universe, the divide between mankind and their deities, and the important role that Storytellers play in her world. As such, they have a strong basis in the myths and folklore of various cultures and religions. Join me as I try my best to integrate these stories into my own and develop the world of the Storytellers and Myra herself. This is my first attempt at any sort of longer-form fiction so helpful advice is greatly appreciated!
