《Azure Chronicles》Chapter 50: The Fuzzball's Dragon Lord
Advertisement
Violent raging winds raced past Echo while she stood at the very front of the runway of the flying airship carrier as it flew high above the deep blue ocean without a single island to be seen.
A crackling and sparking roar reverberated through the hull of the flying airship carrier as Callie struggled to push through the strong winds; the strong winds abruptly subsided, with the howling roars continuing, causing Callie to fall forward before being caught by Echo.
"You having trouble there, Callie?" Echo remarked as she finished creating a Shockwave Nullifier Field(a large field, like a magic shield, made from shockwaves) around the flying airship carrier to block the strong winds and eventually the roaring too.
"Yeah, I'm fine," Callie replied as she stood up straight and straightened out her clothes.
"Soo... would you consider this dragon an S-rank monster or not?" Echo inquired as she pointed at the small baby silver dragon, with cyan eyes, cyan underside and silver scales, sleeping on her head. Callie inspected the baby dragon while occasionally poking and prodding it.
"It seems to be a baby silver dragonbite, given its lack of response to being poked while asleep, so yeah it's a rank-S but it's an animal, not a monster," Callie explained. Echo itched the side of her head with a single finger as she had a confused expression.
"Urg, I'll never understand how some creatures are animals and others, that look practically identical to an animal, are classed as monsters," Echo complained as she crossed her arms. Echo eventually glanced over at Callie and noticed she was glaring at her.
"I hope you didn't wake me up just to ask me about your new pet," Callie snarked as she placed her hands on her hips.
"Of course not, I was just curious about Fang; I was referring to that one," Echo replied as she pointed into the distance.
An unamused Callie glanced over at what Echo was pointing at and, as a large shadow from a cloud panned over the duo, her eyes widened in surprise. Callie, and everyone on the runway, watched as the ginormous(easily the size of a small country) silver-scaled dragon lord, with a silver underside, satisfiedly howled as they were bathing in a large section of the ocean that was cyan in colour.

The dragon lord opened some of its six eyes and instantly stopped howling when they spotted the flying Zelkio airship carrier far off in the distance. The dragon's body became encased in lightning and rapidly condensed into a small, in comparison to the dragon's original size, ball before it shot up into the air like a reverse lightning bolt.
Callie and Echo watched the lightning ball race across the sky before it landed in front of them. Within the ball of lightning, a tall silhouette of a muscular yet slim male figure stood up as the silhouette of his two dragon wings rose behind him. The dragon wings swung down and fanned the lightning magic ball away revealing the guy within.
The guy appeared to be a young male with pale skin, slightly long frizzy silver hair, two cyan ram-like horns on his head, two silver dragon wings(with the thin skin parts being a pale lavender), long silver scaled tail and dragonscales-like tattoos on his arms and legs; however, the only thing Echo's eyes were interested in was the guy's eight pack abs.
The dragon lord brushed off his lavender-coloured stretchy dawnite woven leggings and straightened out his dawnite woven fur boots; he opened his lavender, with three silver iris' in each eye, dragon eyes before squinting at Callie and Echo. Echo and Callie nervously glanced at each other before looking back at the dragon lord, as he squinted even harder at them.
"Can we... help you," Callie asked as she waved her hand at the humanoid dragon lord. The dragon lord's squinting lightened as he tilted his head.
"You sound familiar, give me a sec," the dragon lord stated before creating a Storage Pocket bubble and pulling out a pair of lavender sunglasses.
He placed the sunglasses over his eyes and, after his eyes adjusted, recognised Callie and Echo.
"Oh, you're Magistrate Calloukus and Magistrate Vikala; haha, it's a pleasure to meet you," the dragon lord happily said with a deep booming voice as he shook both of the woman's hands.
"Yeah, nice to meet you... too," Callie said as she and Echo rubbed their ears; the dragon lord ruthlessly coughed and cleared his throat for a few seconds.
"Is this better?" the dragon lord inquired with a deep and, now, slightly booming voice. Echo leaned down to Callie.

"Who is this guy?" Echo whispered to Callie.
"He's Tokubaiyashi; he's the dragon lord familiar of Kara Raiden," Callie explained as she pulled the A Comprehensive Guide To Understanding The Oracle Shogun Kara Raiden out from her Storage Pocket bubble and opened the cover. Callie pointed at the name of the author who was Tokubaiyashi along with the phrase Kara Raiden's familiar underneath it.
"Ok... but what makes you think he's the same guy- oh," Echo went to ask before noticing the extremely detailed crayon drawing of a large six-eyed dragon(silver crayon) and a tiny young girl with four moth wings(lavender crayon).
"That's me alright, I'm the tiny fuzzball's familiar," Tokubaiyashi remarked as he straightened his sunglasses. Echo rubbed the back of her neck as she pondered something.
"hum... but why were you bathing in the middle of the ocean and wouldn't you, moving around, like cause a tsunami or something?" Echo asked.
"The same reason you take a bath; Also, you don't need to worry that section of the ocean it's cut off with a large magistone wall and the water's just lake water," Tokubaiyashi explained as Callie placed the book back in her Storage Pocket bubble.
"Say is the X-Environmental Recovery and Oblivion Prevention Unit-model Magi guy here, I'd love to have the chance to spar with him," Tokubaiyashi pleaded while his tail slowly swayed from side to side.
"I'm sure Xero would accept a sparing session, but just give me a sec?" Callie requested before a green holographic keyboard appeared in front of her and speedily typed a message to Xero.
"Ok, he said he would after he's given me the supplies I requested," Callie explained. Callie also added that Xero was already on the way and he should arrive at the airship carrier within an hour. Tokubaiyashi acknowledge what Callie said before yawning.
"Say do you have a hot spring on this flying metal boat?" Tokubaiyashi inquired. Echo quickly covered her mouth when she started to uncontrollably make a devilish grin as her fangs started to grow.
"You bet we do, come with me I'll show ya!" Echo cheerfully exclaimed before grabbing Tokubaiyashi's wrist with her free hand and quickly leading him up the runway and towards the open hanger that led into the airship carrier interior.
"Honestly she has no control, although she might have just forgotten to drink a blood pack so it could be just a coincidence and she wanted to end the convo asap; So, what did you think of the dragon lord, Sugar Sparks?" Callie said before looking at her shirt collar, where Hika popped her head out from.
"He's pretty scary, especially since he swindled Magi Vikala's heart," Hika mithered as she gritted her teeth. Callie patted Hika on the head while stating it was probably a coincidence that Echo's teeth started to grow; since if she was attracted to Tokubaiyashi then Echo's teeth would have started to grow the moment Tokubaiyashi revealed himself.
Hika firmly nodded her head but stated she would still monitor Tokubaiyashi and Echo just to be safe; Callie simply chuckled as she watched Echo headbutt a small, partly dismantled, aircraft, followed by Tokubaiyashi doing the same intentionally, leaving an indent on the aircraft frame, before he asked Echo what kind of ritual this was.
"The one that sends you to the hospital," Echo replied as rubbed her forehead before she lead Tokubaiyashi around the aircraft and out of sight as a group of mechanics gathered around the indent in the airship frame.
"At least we have an excuse to melt it down now." one of the mechanics remarked.
Meanwhile, Zulcrestus snapped his fingers and fired an Echoing Destruction Flare that completely atomised the flock of heathian birds in front of him, with echoey reverbs rippling through the air.
"That's the fiftieth flock in half an hour, at this rate it will be a month before I make it to Talkia; this can't be a coincidence," Zulcrestus thought as his purple aura shifted to its normal pure white that fades into pink before the aura faded away completely.
"It's almost like the incident with the soul reapers," Hika mentioned as she appeared on Zulcrestus' shoulder from a cluster of silver cubes.
"Indeed...". Zulcrestus placed his hand on the chin of his helmet and contemplated something.
"Perhaps it isn't a coincidence if what Charlotte said in her report is true that could suggest," Zulcrestus mentioned aloud before glancing into the distance as a massive flock of heathian birds approached. Zulcrestus sighed as he raised his arm and created a large Righteous Rein ring.

The Core And The Wardens of Eternity
What is the Core, they asked me... It's the light that pushes the darkness away, a bastion of justice, a safe keeper of life. It grooms love and tolerance, embraces science, fights ignorance, sentences it to die a slow and tragic death. The Core... it's something that can't be destroyed for destroying it is to terminate the time and space itself. When the stuck-in-a-dark-age world of Zanria goes offline, the Core sends one of its experienced agents to find out what is going on and to try to reestablish a mysteriously severed connection. However, all his training and experience might come way short as the world sinks in war and chaos with different races and clans fighting for the Star of Bardan, the ward rumored to possess enough supernatural power to create and destroy entire worlds. *** I just changed the name of the series, from 'the Nexus' to 'the Core'. Somehow it just sounds more right to me. This is the first story, and it has a medieval fantasy setting. But, eventually, this is going to turn into Isekai series with elements of LitRPG. So, my future books might include worlds with advanced technologies that might be more in SciFi, including Steampunk, genre. The first book might start slow, but after a few chapters, it should all be properly set up, and by then you should get the feel of how it will all flow. Also, I plan to introduce different story threats that should spread out and criss-cross in the future. Hopefully, I will not complicate it too much, and that it will all read good. I am planning to continue to add chapters to the main storyline here, but I'm also starting a new story threat in the Core series called The Recordings of Raan. There is also a side story The Memoires of Eisen that's exclusive on Patreon for those who would like to support me.

They know their path to be the righteous one. One to roam the land, hunting for all apparitions, and be scorned by man and beast alike. They know their path to be an arduous one. One to wander the realm in search of power, to protect themselves and what they believe in. They know their path to be the only one. Writers note: The first chapter will set the standard in terms of mood for the remainder of the story. It also comes to no surprise to me that half the people who read the first part stop reading any further. It has quite a bit of the good ‘ol ‘ultra-violence’ mixed with a great deal of realism. As much as I could fit into it from my own knowledge and experience in the elite forces. The first few chapters will be slow, after, but starting from ‘Restless Destroyer’ the remainder of the world will start to open up, and when we hit ‘Adronitis’ the prologue is largely finished. The novel is well thought out and filled with hidden lore, culture, history. So even if my word choice appears random – it’s not. There is a reason why these chapters take as long as they do. Vermodalen is fantasy adventure, with magic and heroics in an as realistic setting as I could fit. Things are rarely what they seem, and the ugly nature of people bleed through the letters at the turn of every page. I hope you can give this story a fair chance, even if it isn’t immediately to your taste. Lastly, english isn't my first language. It isn't my second one either. So, if you find errors in grammer and spelling, wordplay and sentance building, do let me know, and you will be rewarded by a surge of dopamine that will be released inside your brain for helping someone whom you haven't even seen or heard.
