《Axis:Legacy》Chapter 6: Jorousian Embassy (Part 2)

As Thomas got up his ears were ringing from the explosion, he heard someone’s voice from the distance and saw one of his teammates, Ivan, help him up. He looked around and saw a radio from a dead Military Police.
“..there!” The Radio shouted as Thomas grabbed a nearby Rifle-spear and switched to it’s rifle configuration while silently regretting leaving behind Raesvelg. “I repeat! This is Military Police Command to any Military Police Present.”
“This is Aegis One to Military Police Command!” Thomas said as he quickly turned his attention to several insurgents aiming their guns causing him and Ivan to hide behind a nearby car while they opened fire.
“What’s your Status?” Command asked him.
“A Car bomb went off right after the Jorousian Official entered the building!” Thomas answered back as he opened fire at the Insurgents.
“Are there any other Military Police Present in the area?” Command asked, Thomas paused and looked around, several of his teammates were in the area simply taking a break. With Thomas himself just watching nearby before the Car Bomb went off, looking around he spotted Alice and Nicholas currently engaged with several other insurgents across the street. On the ground near the explosion were the burning corpses of Rise and Emma, who were in the middle of taking a selfie moments before the bomb went off.
The rest of the Military Police on the other hand, were dead from the explosion of gravely injured only to be executed on the spot by the other insurgents.
“Negative,” Thomas answered as he put on the radio with the earphones. “Only Aegis squad is present but are currently engaging the insurgents outside the building.”
“Aegis One be advised, reinforcements are coming but one of you must see to it that the Ambassador and the Official is alright.”
“Copy that.” Thomas groaned as he shot another Insurgent between the eyes, he then turned to Ivan and handed him a spare magazine for his rifle.
“Go help Alice and Nicholas!” Thomas shouted at Ivan as he reloaded his Rifle. “And evacuate the area now!”
“What about you?”
“I’m heading inside to see if the Ambassador and Official are alright?” Thomas said as he grabbed the radio and headphones and put them on again. And ran towards the building despite Ivan’s protests. “Aegis One to Command do you have eyes on the building?”
“Negative you will have to enter the area blind all surveillance cameras have been disabled.” Command answered, Thomas sighed as he entered the building and found a handful of Insurgents in the middle of a fight with the security of the Embassy.
"Dammit!" Thomas said as he channeled electricity into his rifle-spear as he switched to the Spear configuration and rushed the enemy impaling the First Insurgent in the back and then hurled a bolt of fire towards the Second Insurgent as he grabbed the Warhammer of the second Insurgent and, while channeling Ki into it, slammed into the face of the Third Insurgent while it didn’t kill her due to her Ki blunting the impact and just knocking her out, it was enough to knock her out. Thomas as about to turn around and attack the fourth insurgent but he was brought to his knees as he was electrocuted by the Fourth Insurgent.

“Not bad for an Axis Trainee,” Fourth Said as he extended his right hand while his left continued to electrocute Thomas into place, upon doing so his feet were immediately frozen in place.
“It’s quite a shame that you’ll die though.” He said as he brandished a pair of swords from his belt.
"On your left!" Thomas heard a familiar voice in his communicator and he quickly leaned to the right and—
Shunk!
In a blink of an eye, Lissa was standing between them and strapped to her back was the Weapon Case for Raesvelg while Adarin was impaled on the chest of the fourth. Thomas quickly opened the case while strapped behind her and grabbed Raesvelg and proceeded to decapitate the Fourth, temporarily covering both of them with blood as it spurted out from the neck.
“Don’t leave your weapon in the Armory even if you’re on break.” Lissa said dropping the Case. “Noted.” Thomas nodded as both of them activated their Communicators and ran further into the building.
“Command this is Strike One, I’ve linked up on the Aegis One and are currently en route to secure the Ambassador and Official." Lissa said as she followed after Thomas as they went deeper inside the building, eventually they found themselves facing another group of four Insurgents who were also in the middle of breaking down the safe room of the Embassy.
"Step away from the—" Lissa said but Thomas quickly tackled her on the ground as one of the Insurgents pulled out a heavy shotgun and blasted her.
"They didn't exactly came here for Negotiations you know," Thomas pointed out as he quickly got up and fired a Mana round into Raesvelg's blade. Watching meanwhile the Leader of the Insurgents who are in the middle of breaking down the door, nodded to one of the members as she pulled out a heat saw and began to cut down the braces.
"I'll deal with them," The leader continued as he pulled out a pair of heat chain axes and linked them together. "Focus on taking down the door and capture them."
"Not quite," Another Insurgent walked towards them as gripping a static mace and swung around causing it to crackle with electricity. “Who said you’re allowed to deal with them alone.”
“You choice then.” The Leader said as the two rushed both Thomas and Lissa.
[Axis:Legacy]
The first thing that Lissa did was to swing her sword to the side and caused a massive arc of electricity to surge from the tip and knocked out the two other Insurgents who were in the middle of cutting down the door.
“That deals one nuisance,” Lissa commented as she turned her attention towards the Mace Wielding Insurgent.
“Heh you sure have the guts.” He said as he spun his two handed mace around taking off his mask revealing a young man with sandy blond hair and green eyes. “I’m Rider Erbus what’s your name?”
“Lissa Ikross,” She said taking an offensive stance. “Be sure to remember of someone who will capture you!”

She quickly lunged at him as she pumped Ki into her body to increase her movement, Rider on the other hand simply danced around her and dodged her attacks with ease and a confident smirk further infuriating Lissa as she left arcs of static electricity in their wake. Meanwhile Thomas was stuck in a battle of attrition with The Leader of the Insurgents raiding the Embassy their weapons leaving behind damaged property as both of them had finally run out of Ki and Mana for their attacks relying only on pure skill.
“You sure hate Jorouse as a whole huh?” Thomas asked as he got up and blocked another blow from his chainaxe. “That’s because both Jorouse and Exavis have done nothing but hinder the growth of Axis into it’s true form.” The Leader continued as he swung both axes on the ground causing it to briefly burst into flames.
“Hey!” Thomas answered as he grabbed a rug and threw it on the ground putting out the flames. “I get that you’re passionate but don’t kill us in flames here.”
“That’s the point you moron.” The Leader continued. “That’s why I’m here, to kill the Jorousian Scum and the Liar who sold his own people in favor of the Jorousians.”
“Tell me more about your goals,” Thomas said as he leaped up and slashed his sword in a downwards arc in an attempt to remove one of the axes off his hands only for the two to lock blades one more causing sparks to appear on the both blades.
“I, Miles Rivers, will liberate Axis from the hands of both the Jorousians and the Exavisians no matter the cost!” He said proudly as Thomas felt a bullet go through both of them in the abdomen taking him by surprise, ripping through both of their armors and nearly losing grip on his sword.
Miles then proceeded to let go of one of the Axes and griped one with both hands and attempted to cut down Thomas using the remaining Ki in his body and blocked it with his arm as his heated chainaxe cut through the remaining Ki into his body.
"Thomas!" Lissa, who saw the scene unfold attempted to intervene but she dodged the mace that Rider threw at her. "Hey now," Rider smiled as he grabbed the heat saw and quickly ran towards her. "Don't leave your partner hanging!"
He then proceeded to swing the heat saw wildly as he began to laugh madly as Lissa continued to dodge his attacks, however with the strength that he adds on his swings the blade of Lissa’s Adarin is slowly getting chipped away from the damage of the Heat Saw. Forcing her to dodge his attacks using what’s left of her Ki.
“What happened to all that enthusiasm from earlier Miss Lissa?” Rider cackled as he gripped both the Mace and the Heat Saw and swung both of them at her in a frenzy.
I need to get this over soon, Lissa thought as she used her last Mana Bullet sending the Mace clattering on the floor and blocked the heat saw with the already damaged Blade of Lissa’s Adarin.
Or else Thomas and I might not be able to save the Ambassador and the Official. She continued as she shot a glance at Thomas.
As for Thomas and Miles, their war of attrition is slowly becoming one sided with Miles overpowering Thomas with his Ki reinforced arm protecting him from a death via a heated chain axe. Using the remaining Ki Thomas had in his body he had to make a last minute gamble. If he failed he will most likely lose an arm, at worse he'll die from the shock via the heated chain axe tearing through his flesh. In fact he wasn't even sure if his weapon would operate like that.
Well you only live once, Thomas thought as he smirked as he reinforced his other hand and grabbed the very blade of the axe and quickly channeled the mana into his fingertips and—
Bang!
Both Thomas and Miles were sent across the room as Thomas has overloaded the Axe since each weapon contains a battery that houses a specific amount of Mana, if it runs out of Mana then it won't be as effective as it originally was but too much if it can result into damaging the weapon. As for Thomas’ case he solved that problem with his Hraevesglr, instead of relying on a battery that houses the Mana of the weapon, he would instead use the Mana Bullets as a way of channeling Mana. Something that he deduced from the two weapons he based Hraevesglr on, which are the Crimson Edge and Azure Blade of the late Arios Elpis and Andras Desper.
"That actually worked," Thomas chuckled but then winced as he remembered the gunshot wound from before and glared at the other Insurgent that fired the gun.
"We need to get out of here!" The Gunner said as he helped Miles up. Another nodded to Rider who simply clicked his tongue in disappointment as he continued to fight Lissa as he slowly backed away and pulled a smoke grenade.
"I don't think so!" Thonas said grabbing Hraevesglr and struggled to stand up from the gunshot wound. But to his and Lissa's surprise Team Buster, led by Louis Quinn alongside the remaining members of Team Strike and Team Aegis arrived and leading to the arrest of the remaining members of the Insurgents that were attempting to breach the door.
“Took you long enough,” Thomas chuckled as he tried to walk towards them, but with the blood that he was slowly losing from the gunshot wound is slowly causing him to lose blood with the last thing he heard was the sound of Louis calling out to him and the sight of Lissa running towards him worriedly.
