《Axis:Legacy》Chapter 1: Lissa Ikross
Advertisement
A young 18 year old woman stared at list of names for the Student Assignment as well as the Academic Rankings in the bustling hallway that morning, she wore the female uniform of an Axis Academy Student which consisted of a Black double breasted coat with dark red accents and is accompanied with a grey skirt that reached up to her knees while she her pale blond hair that reached up to the middle of her back is tied into a basic ponytail as her light blue eyes flashed a fire of determination
While Axis Academy utilized light grey color scheme for their uniforms symbolizing their neutral stance between both Exavis and Jorouse, all students are given the option to have their uniforms sport the colors of their respective nations and generals. Those who originate or favour Jorouse they have uniforms sport a Black and Red color scheme similar to the ones worn by Andras and his Wolfpack, while those who support or favour Exavis have their uniforms sport a White and Blue color scheme similar to what Arios and his Pride had.
She threw one last look at list of Names in the Student Rankings, one particular name caught her attention.
[Name] [Year and Section] [Rank and Score]
[Lissa Ikross] [1-A] [A-100]
[Thomas Orphen] [1-E] [A-100]
[Charl Jorouse Noctria] [3-A] [A-98]
[Yvonne Sigris] [1-E] [A-98]
[Uther Valerio] [1-A] [A-95]
[Arthur Exavis Luxir] [3-A] [A-95]
[Petra Lowell] [2-B] [A-92]
[Shin Young] [4-B] [A-92]
[Kyle Hoffman] [2-B] [A-91]
[Alice Lark] [4-B] [A-91]
"Interesting," She muttered to herself as she walked away. I didn’t expect someone like him to actually reach a high rank.
Being the illegitimate daughter of her family, Lissa Ikross had always felt alienated from her peers despite her family still accepting her as part of the family but she knew deep down that everyone will always view her as a symbol of her mother’s infidelity to the family. It was the main reason why instead of succeeding the Family duty of managing the farm lands of the Ikross Family, she chose to become an Axian Officer in hopes that by becoming an Officer worthy of the eclipsing the sin of her presence as an illegitimate child, and while reluctantly they approved her.
It had been a month since she had enrolled, having passed the Entrance exams with flying colors, the Entrance Exams of Axis Academy is best known for being difficult as it consists of both a hand to hand combat and weapons training. And then there’s the written exams which focuses on having the student undergo various tests to determine their intellectual capacity.
Due to the difficulty of both tests, most students would have a passing average of at least a C-Rank, due to being one of the few people to gain an A-Rank within the Test it had surprised the professors so much that she was immediately placed within the Top Ranked Students overall within the Year, which is best reserved for students who are noted to be score the highest within the Physical and Academic Entrance Exams.
“Hey is that Lissa Ikross?” One of the students said as they looked at her as she passed by the Hallway.
“I heard she ranked one of two within the Academy to carry the highest Rank within the Entrance exams.” Lissa heard another student mutter.

“I wish I was able to reach that Rank as well,” She heard another said, eventually she let out a sigh and turned towards them her blue eyes flickered like cold sapphires which immediately caused the two girls to flinch in surprise and mild fear.
“If you are interested in getting a high ranking then I suggest focusing on your Academic and Physical Performance rather than engaging in gossip.” She said coldly.
“I’m sorry!” She said as the two girls hurried off in fear. As soon as they hurried off the students around Lissa began to mutter once more around her.
“Looks like they ran into the Ice Queen again,” She heard a student chuckle in amusement.
“They probably didn’t know that Know-it-all is too strict,” Another said with a hint of contempt into her tone. “That’s why she doesn’t have any friends.”
She quietly ignored them and walked away, but as she was about to walk away she heard someone call out to her.
“Don’t you think it’s a bit early to be doing a lecture?” She let out a sigh and turned to face a young man wearing the neutral colors of his uniform with dark brown hair that reached up to his shoulders and light green eyes that flickered in amusement.
“Louis,” She nodded in a neutral tone.
“Good Morning to you as well Lissa,” He smiled at her as they walked down the hallway.
Louis Quinn, perhaps one of the only few people that actually can put up with Lissa due to the fact that back home. The two of them were Classmates in High School and incidentally he too managed to make it into the First Section, and despite the fact that Lissa is somewhat dismissive around him, she did eventually learned to appreciate his presence.
“You know how I feel about being the topic to rumors and gossip,” Lissa pointed out as the two of them made their way towards their classroom.
“It won’t hurt to at least loosen up a bit you know?” He chuckled as he leaned on the doorway as she stopped before the front door. “It might even help you make friends you know.”
“I’m not interested in ‘loosening up’.” She said letting out a tired sigh. “To be honest, I like it this way.”
She really didn’t care about being alienated by her peers, in fact she didn’t mind at all. Because of her callous and cold treatment of everyone around her people instead view her as the Ice Princess of Class 1-A instead of the Illegitimate Daughter of the Ikross Family. And instead of being offended by her epithet, instead she wore it like her armor not just to herself but to her own Family.
And while she is also known to be beautiful (according to Louis many of the young men her age comment that her body has taken into a nice form) and hardworking, all of those are overshadowed at the fact that she is abrasive and cold towards her classmates and to anyone that cannot handle her sharp tongue that it leads to many to either forget her background altogether.

[Axis:Legacy]
Class began not long after the two entered, eventually their professors for Alpha Section had arrived. Each section would have one Advisor, for A Class the advisor would be Erisa Bell, a woman in her early forties with pale blond hair done in a braided bun while her light grey eyes flickered in amusement. It should be noted that despite her age, she had retained her youthful look looking only as if they are entering their early thirties despite being in their forties.
“Good Morning Class from now on I’ll be your Class Advisors for the next four years of Training,” Erisa greeted them with a kind smile. “Which is why I must first properly introduce ourselves.”
“Now then,” Erisa Bell ccontinued. “My name is Erisa Bell, I’ll be your Adviser, if you have any issues or quarrels that needed to be address I would gladly be the one two answer them.”
“And prior to being a Professor I served in the Military as a Technical Officer serving under Arios Elpis.” She said quietly but then gave them a grin. “And no I will not be discussing any War Stories just yet.”
“Now then,” Professor Erisa spoke. “It’s your turn to introduce yourselves then.”
Eventually each of the Students had introduced themselves to one another and each student Lissa noted what they were like as well as trying her best to analyze them from their behaviour.
"Right," Professor Erisa said with holding a clipboard. "The next on your Agenda would be to appoint the Class Representative. Now it should be noted that once you take this title, you're assigned to this position until Graduation which in this case four years. Now do we have any volunteers and nominations?"
Several students raised their hands, including Lissa, but eventually Erisa chose another student, a young man with neat Light brown hair and clear blue eyes and wore the Exavis Variant of the Uniform named Uther Valerio, was chosen.
"Yes Mr. Valerio?"
"I would like to Nominate Ms. Ikross for Class Representative," He suggested, earning a wave of murmuring within the Classroom. "Why not? After all Ms. Ikross herself is the top student within the Academy so what better way than to represent our Class than the woman who holds the position of Rank One within the overall Grades?"
There was a silent agreement within the year meanwhile Lissa can't help but also raise an eyebrow at him, after all he too is part of the Top ten. How come he isn't interested in such a position?
Another student raised their hand.
"Miss Bell why not have Mr. Valerio be the one to represent us, I mean it's already clear that Ms. Ikross represents the best of us." Another Student said, Lissa sensed a little bit of contempt in her tone when she mentioned her name.
That's to be expected, Lissa thought fighting the urge to scoff at the Girl's Reaction. It's a common reaction for someone to just treat someone with scorn because they are too weak willed and shortsighted to even try and improve their skills.
"Well then how about we do a vote," Erisa said writing down Lissa and Uther's names. "The one with the Highest will be the Class Representative and the one with the Lowest will be the Vice Class Representative."
And so a voting was made, Lissa won by three votes ahead of Uther. Essentially placing the role of Class Representative on Lissa while Uther as the Vice Class Representative.
"I suppose I should thank you for the Nomination then," Lissa said as she and Uther walked out of the Classroom later that day and headed off to the Student Council Room to meet up with the other Students.
"No need," He gave her a reassuring smile. "I just did it because it would be fitting for someone like you to represent us."
"Flattery won't get you anywhere with me Valerio," Lissa frowned earning an amused laugh from him.
"Was it quite obvious?" Uther laughed, there was something about him that annoyed Lissa a little bit
"Yes," Lissa pointed out. "And frankly I'm not interested in getting a Boyfriend or a Girlfriend."
Uther simply laughed as they entered the Student Council room and four other pairs of Students.
"Apologies for our tardiness," Lissa said with a bow.
"No need," The two of them turned around, Lissa's jaw nearly dropped and her eyes widened in surprise as in front of them stood a tall young man with dark brown hair fixed neatly and deep blue eyes behind a pair of black framed glasses. And just like Uther, he too wore the Exavis variant of the Axis Academy Uniform.
"It's an honor to meet you your Highness!" Uther said, alongside a few other students that were present knelt before him, as before them is Arthur Exavis Luxir, the Crown Prince of Exavis.
"Please raise your heads," He said worriedly. "We are all but students of the same institute are we not? You can just refer to me as your senior."
As it turns out, Prince Arthur Exavis Luxir is a Third Year Student and is the Vice President of Student Council. And much to his chagrin, he is constantly given special treatment to those who are loyal and favor Exavis.
“I-I understand,” Uther stammered trying to regain his composure as Lissa watched Uther stand up and straightened his posture. The two of them watched as Arthur head towards one of two chairs and looked at them.
“Uh please take a seat,” Arthur said gesturing the couches nearby. “We still have to wait for the President to arrive.”
Each one of them took a seat waiting for the arrival of the President. Nearby Lissa’s eyes landed on a reddish brown haired young man with maroon eyes that showed a dull and somewhat bored look on his face as he wore the Exavis uniform. Their eyes met and the young man smirked.
“Say,” He said slouching for a moment. “Aren’t you that Girl I ran into during the Entrance Exams?”

The Last Science [SE]
[SE has the same content as the original story, split into smaller chunks for easier reading. This story is on a temporary hiatus due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. I work in healthcare and unfortunately no longer have the freetime to continue posting on a regular basis. As soon as our workload decreases, I will return. Thanks for reading! 💙] No one ever knows the whole story. Deep in the forests of the Pacific Northwest, the fading town of Rallsburg stumbles upon an amazing discovery—magic itself. Faced with potentially world-shattering power, the people of Rallsburg keep the secret for themselves. Led by Rachel DuValle, a perpetually underestimated college student with grand ambitions, they seek to found a new society. The world beyond suspects nothing, but magic cannot stay hidden forever. A train arrives in Rallsburg carrying Alden Bensen, a directionless high school graduate. To him, magic could represent meaning for his life, an explanation for his empty existence. This potent force offers anyone the power to change humanity forever—or send it cascading into swift and total annihilation. The Last Science is an ongoing science-fiction / low-fantasy web novel series, focused on the modern world with a twist. New societies bud and grow, but the people who make them up are imperfect and flawed. The story includes elements of mystery, action, crime, interpersonal drama, relationships, philosophy, sociology, politics, and much more, all centered on the perspective characters driving the tale. This is the "Scraps Edition" of the story, where the chapters have been split up into bite-size chunks (roughly 1500-3000 words), for your convenience. The prose has been edited from its original form, with some improvements, but there are no content differences from the original. New chapters will be posted throughout each week starting on Friday and appearing on multiple days thereafter, depending on the length of the chapter. Content Warning (by request): This series delves into some topics and situations which may be upsetting for some readers. In American rating parlance, the narrative would be rated PG-13 (except for language), but some have noted the story can get pretty dark on occasion. Ancient Mana Dungeon Core.
Yes the tags are necessary, they will make sense eventually too. Art is not mine, found it on pintrest btw the title on the thing apparently has no name, or at least no title that you can search, at least, but i found this: ‘ArtStation - [UE4] Lost Temple Ruins Jonas Axelsson’ (if your curious I was searching ancient temple game art when i found it don’t bother clicking the link on the thing that says facebook, it does not work) (i will not lie this is kinda my first publication so go easy on me). A while ago I fell in love with the Dungeon Core stories and decided: ‘Heck, why not make my own spin on things!’ and so i started brainstorming what to do and i kinda just found the idea for the story during it. This is the story of a guy named Michael Alex (not a typo that is the name I will be using for him) he was an avid fiction writer and reader who was just sitting on his couch playing a puzzle game on his phone called: Ruins of Drailmor Keep (a three in one deal: tower defence, Puzzle (mazes generally), and world building (namely building on the ashes of fallen empires and regulating certain things while the waves of enemies keeps coming back to burn it down and ruin it just like the curse would while ocasionally sending out your own monsters to get rare rescources)) when he gets an alert and well one thing leads to another and he died to a freak avalanche. He then comes into contact with the universe's will (basically something that *insert your prefered deity here* cooperated with to make the world (heaven, hell, the mortal world, yggdrasil, basically every "world" that has been made (in reality, mythology, games, books, cartoons/movies, and memes!) but also had a mind of its own at the same talk.) and Michael and the Universe’s Will talked and this story is about the outcome of said discussion.

Imagine Being a Rare
The world of mobile games is harsh on wallets and harsher on the characters. How do you stand out in an crowd of designs calculated to attract attention from whales? A new gameplay mode will give them a chance to rise above their rarity, they think. All they need are courage, kindness, and wisdom. They have none of those, but they do have stubbornness, selfishness, and shamelessness, which are at least as effective. If that sounds pathetic, just imagine being a Rare. Updates Monday and Friday.
