《lord of pride》3

"finally" aero gave a small cheer as the doctor felt the room, he been cleared to leave the hospital. his was more or less healed three days ago but they didn't want to let him out just to make sure, well it what they said and Aero didn't believe it.
"zalts!" his mood soured when he realized his mother's boyfriend would be the one to help him pack up, could he do it himself. he ran through the numbers in his head his bed his bag on a weak leg, yeah that wasn't gonna happen! cursing one more he laid under the covers for a bit, it ended up being a short nap.
when he woke up Adir still hadn't arrived but he was fine with that, getting off the bed he started stretching out." just like you said it sour stiff and feels weak!" he commented to the helper as he stretched out his recently unbandaged leg. it trembled when he put his weight on it he stretched it more before taking a lap around the room.
he had taken multiple laps around the room with needed breaks before Adir arrived, he did with a gift hoping to negate aero's hate for him long enough to get the younger male back to school. it was unnecessary as Aero decided to ignore the older while he packed up his things until he threw the bed at him. they walked out of the hospital with several nurses and doctors wanting to help but the look in Aero's eyes.
outside, they loaded the things into the wagon which was pulled by one of the few non-hostile creatures. they looked somewhere between sheep and wolves, but don't think for one moment the large creature could bite of a limb. the entire ride to the school was silent which Adir found awkward but every time he tried to start a conversation aero looked at him with pure disgust.
'you know it would hurt to try and talk to him, what do you dislike about him so much?' the helper asked almost seven flowers in. 'like every other guy on this planet!'
'except you' the helper commented but was blindsided when aero said they were wrong,' no the trait I don't like about him is one I see in my self and that trait is simply the effects of being pampered all your life.' aero hated the arrogance they all had, there was no problem taking pride in your gender but the amount!
Aero decide at some point he wanted to earn his pride, and he did with hours of training and combat. he told the helper this, they didn't say anything for a moment 'a thought process worthy of the lord of the pride, well what will you do about it? arrogance is born from pride making you it lord!' aero had to think about that, what should he do? should he do anything at all? he complemented this the rest of the ride to his school.
the school building was pretty old but sturdy as the day it was built. the fields that surrounded the school were for training to relax or to pick fights. Aero drew a lot of attention from the rest of his schoolmates, he would glare and growl if it was still effective. more than a few stepped up to offer their assistance. they got harsh words in return, none felt threaten as they knew if they didn't push he wouldn't strike.
it was an annoying trip up to Aero's dorm, near the teacher to prevent someone from trying with him being the only guy. it was sparkling clean so he knew the cleaning lady had been here recently hopefully no one else! when everything was in place Aero kick out Adir without a word and started some cool-down stretches before crashing into his bed for a dozen flowers.

it was dark out when he woke up, stretching out he moved around his room a bit.' i need food before training' leaving his room and locking it behind him he heads to the cafeteria. the night shift was there so he got his jelly before heading to the training fields. a few fields were occupied by a couple of girls doing some night training, thankfully they were absorbed by it and didn't notice aero.
'alright the basics right lord aero, the first thing is your stance we talked about it he took a short stance cause he cares for agility more than stability. he held that stance for a bit before starting to practice basic punches and kick, he kept it for a good long while. he wasn't sure how long he had gone for until he saw the sun start to rise, "class doesn't start until tomorrow thank the zalts!"
he took a stop at the cafeteria before going to his room for a nap then returning to the training fields this time with a staff. 'i've been using this the wrong way.' he used the staff as a way to create melodies in combat and nothing more, the helper showed him the staff was a weapon on it own. he felt like an idiot," but I will be better som much better!" he swung once more repeating the motion at least ten times before doing another. he followed this pattern until his limbs ached too much to continue.
"should probably stop here for today anyway" he was supposed to go easy on his leg anyway, exiting the shed where the practice weapons were stored he looked at the sun which was nearing its peak, he should go talk to his teachers after like anything else.
he ended up wandering to the library finding some scrolls to read,' my lord would you mind if I scanned all the literature in this place? it should allow me to serve you better!' Aero gave the good ahead and they got to work looking through the information held here, it was very useful and enlightening. especially the scroll containing information about the Zalt, according to them they were people of the past. people who did tasks or learn things far beyond what the Grine race called mortal.
'there something strange here?' the helper noticed something in all the stories.' it was on the tip of my metaphorical tongue!' making note of this they changed to looking at the history of this world. many flowers wilted before Aero headed back to his room for a bit of quiet before going to talk with his teachers.' they can't be that bad my lord?' the helper asked as aero stood before the teacher dorms.
'oh, source these people are about to get hit! my lord doesn't clench your jaw like that you could damage your bones!' not even a full seven petals passed and aero heard several soft suggestions to resign from his current life path, 'take pride in your self-control for not slapping someone yet!' they tried to encourage. Aero quickly explained that he would get expelled if he did and there wasn't another school that would take him. so the helper switched gears and informed him of several methods to keep his anger at bay.
"are you sure you wish to continue learning here?" a teacher asked. aero's face was twitching as he said yes he would like to continue his school life, "alright in that case you've turned in all the work and you'll be able to continue without a problem. "thank you!" aero ground out through his bared teeth.

his quick retreat was unstopped, he heads straight to his room where rant to the helper about how that women dare look down on him, how dare she thinks that a simple injury was gonna scare him, make him stop." I am one of the top students at this school, I've complete the most missions this year and the second term hasn't started yet." the male stopped to huff and puff with a few growls.
"How will you prove that to her?" the helper asked after a moment. Aero froze, "I have nothing to prove to her!" his tone could have put out the sun," very well my lord!" aero could hear a hint of pride in the neutral voice. it didn't take a petal to release that he had just been tested, he decided not to confront the formless being and instead returned to his ranting.
"ugh!" with that he flopped into bed after burning himself out with ranting. "blah!" classes were starting tomorrow that meant dealing with people. "ugh!" more specific that meant facing her, the now. he wouldn't be surprised if she asked for a date when he said thanks, he shivered before wrapping his covers around himself. the helper takes his mind off the next day by explaining the befit of haveing a sub-weapon and which ones would work great with his bo staff.
the next morning Aero wakes up to sunlight in his eyes and an empty stomach. climbing out of bed he got ready for the day before heading to the cafeteria. he eats on the way to first-class which is mostly a history class, but the history of grinine wasn't much. they were too busy fighting against the beast to fight each other so there were few wars. and the one that happened didn't last all too long.
next was survival class like it name it where students learn to survive weather at home or in the wild during long term missions. Aero like this class second to least as the teacher focused on his way too much so time it disrupted class Aero has attempted to challenge the teacher to get her to stop but she flat out refused.
since the class 3 flowers, part lecture, and part hands-on practice lunch followed the second class. then after a flower, the lord had weapons class. no, it wasn't learning to fight with weapons more about the creation and care of your weapon. "this is worse than I remember!" aero commented looking over the wood chips that were his bo staff, "then again I was fainting when my weapon was destroyed."
pulling out his notes from when he carved the staff and was struck with the realization that it lasted a lot longer than it should have. his improved knowledge compared to two-orbit cycles ago, his pride swell at his own skill. "now to make something even better than before!" the first thing he needed to improve the durability he was gonna fight stronger beast from now on. he could go for a heavier wood with his strength higher than before, 'maybe I should consider making from a metal?" nan then I would have to change the way I play melodies
going to the back of the room he went through the books to find a suitable wood while the helper scanned all the books hungry for information. "this one should work!" the wood he found was 40% heavier than the last but twice as durable plus it was a nice shade of silver. going to the teacher he put in his order for the wood. "mmm, valley weeping willow that grows pretty far from here it will take a few days before it arrives!"
"that's okay!" aero returned to his note before she could say anything, with them he started planning how to carve the wood, he didn't consider painting it. when the time was up he headed for his next class, in which they learn and studied melodies, he listened closely to the lecture about water manipulation melodies. Aero practice one that made bubblies a bit before going to where the book was located,' yes you can scan them all,' aero told the helper while he looked for the book he needed.
the hidden sounds of the world are where melodies are born, the sound of the fire, of light, of the stone, of the air itself. to make melodies the first thing you must do is learn the hidden sounds, "so what the sound of pride?" closing his eye he sensed the pride of his classmates before trying to hear what sound it made." mm!" he barely suppressed the scream of pain from the hurricane of noise.
'you tried too many at once,' the helper informed after understanding what went wrong.' i advise learning the sound of your own pride first so you can weaponize it," aero nodded and listened to the sound of his own pride once his ears stopped ringing.
Aero for a moment thought about how strange it was to hear the sound his own pride made. said the sound was a lot softer than you would have thought for Aero's pride, but a strong kind of soft. he listened to it for the rest of class trying to understand the sound, "it goona be a while before I can turn this into a melody," walking out of the call he made a stop in his room for a nap before heading out to the training fields for some shadow sparing.
"wait!" he paused mid-punch she didn't approach him, he saw her doing survival. he knew she looked at him and he looked at her, he moved to talk to her but a mix of the teacher and his stomach becoming a mess kept him in his seat. "why didn't she approach me?" he didn't understand every female his age has taken any chance they could to hit on him. so why hadn't she, seriously he didn't get it and it made making his carapace itchy.
"how unsettling," he decided before continue his practice. it late that he headed back to his room after a stop In the cafeteria, the mild ache of his muscles distracted him from how unsettled he still felt. he was nearing his room when he saw a familiar face," the zaltess of luck is messing with me." cause for no other reason would she, Rahav, the girl that saved his was standing near his room. the helper felt that if the grinine were caple Aero would hurl, "hello Rahav what can I do for you?"
when she opened her mouth aero changed his mind and before she could speak, "no screw that I thank you for saving me and demanded you tell me you waited till now to talk with me!"
"you despise me despite the fact we've never spoken, I'm not sure that's fair."

The Ingress Estate
Jonathon Eucole. Soldier. Scholar. Now an Initiate, the dedication without dedication, he finds himself both prisoner and master of an arcane edifice, the Ingress Estate, which can neither be escaped, nor controlled; only diverted, maintained, and pacified. This is a gothic fantasy story, set in a world in which gods and the afterlife are not only real and known, but were both established in living memory of some of the inhabitants after millennia of arcane warfare with the being who constructed the mundane reality the humans occupy. But this isn't the story of those who colonized the afterlife at the cost of their own humanity, but a somewhat more ordinary man, in somewhat extraordinary circumstances. This is also a LitRPG-lite, which means there's a system of sorts, fragments of which can be observed through Jonathon's eyes. Don't expect level-up screens, or statistics, or indeed numbers much at all, beyond those the inhabitants of the world itself apply to understanding their own reality. It pretty much doesn't matter to the story, I mention it so those who don't want to read LitRPG at all can successfully avoid it here. I don't have any particular plan here, just some ideas inherent in the genre. This is a character concept I toyed with some years ago; an old man, bright of mind but weighed down into apathy, both by his past and his responsibilities for a terrible estate that cannot be left without stewardship. Don't expect any kind of overarching plot or story, because that's really not what this is about. Also don't expect much dialogue. Or character development. Or much of anything, really, because I've planned nothing in the way of an actual book, here. Other relevant information, if you've read this far for some reason: The MC isn't super-powerful to begin with, and probably never will be. He's a veteran with some useful skills, and the insight on how to use them, so can deal with the world's ordinary threats reasonably well, but not too much beyond that. --- Currently on hiatus, as currently the story has a rather poor ratio of effort-to-personal-payoff. I may return to this once I have a clear idea of how to get the stories where I want them. I've started a more standard LitRPG using the same system. But if you like intelligence characters who cleverly min-max their classes, it probably isn't the story for you; it's the story of a rather ordinary guy who winds up in a very similar universe.

The Ramayana - Lakshmila's POV
We have read The Ramayana as kids and always knew it to be the story of Rama and his consort Sita. Every character has an important role to play. But not all of them have found much importance is any of the version. One such character is Urmila and her story with Lakshmana. All versions mention Urmila's sacrifice as "Unparalleled" but none depicted it. This story is an attempt to present the story of Ramayana from Urmila and Lakshmana's POV. Note : This story is fictional. The characters are the same. This story is an insight of The Ramayana through Lakshman and Urmila's eyes. There would be Nobody's POV also. The events are the same but the depiction is part of fiction. Parts of the story is loosely based/inspired from Sita's Sister but I have taken creative liberty to give my character more edge and depth.
