《The Devil's Parcel》Chapter 13: Planning

With one final stroke of his scythe, Abel finished off the last of the nearby enemy reinforcements.
Blood covered Abel's black armor, staining it red; Abel could feel the smell of iron enveloping his nose, which caused his heart to beat with excitement.
Abel suddenly started chanting words and lifted his arms in sync; The bodies of the dead began floating.
With white light emitting from the dead bodies Abel turned his upturn palms inward, then moved his arms outward, which caused the white light to leave their respective bodies and enter his own.
With all the white light absorbed, Abel burned all the bodies to ash.
Lilith and Lillia can only watch in awe of everything that is happening.
Abel took a deep breath and exhaled loudly. Now calm, Abel walked over to the girls to tell them their next course of action
Lilith tended Lillia's wounds while Abel laid a foundation for their next course of action. "I think we should set up camp here, Lilith; We recall our soldiers and start a pseudo base of operations. Little by little, we take on more land and keep moving the base until we take the entire country."
Lilith thought it over and decided that Abel was right. "We'll do that, but first, we must tend to the injured soldiers."
They built a base of operations as planned and healed the soldiers' wounds within three days.
The base was a collage of orange tents studded in gold and rubies that formed into the shape of the sun.
"Okay, Lilith, our intel suggests that the enemy will try to surround us from the north and south. We could send soldiers to ambush them, and then whichever side wins they push up to set up a death trap for oncoming enemies."

Lilith thought it over before deciding she didn't want to follow the plan due to the reliance on luck.
Lilith and Abel ended up arguing about what course of action they would take.
Some time passed and still, the two couldn't agree on how the army would be attacking; Tired of the exchange Abel got up and walked out of the base to clear his head.
Abel makes it about fifty feet from the tent before he catches a knife thrown at him. "It seems your senses are still as sharp as they used to be."
Abel turns around to see Mistress Amaya "What do you want Amaya?"
"I came to support Lilith in these trying times but if she has you by her side then her victory is guaranteed."
"Pretty bold of you to assume I'm going to fight the war by myself."
"Are you not?"
"I was told to assist her and keep her safe; not to solve the entire conflict for her."
"How would Alastor react if he heard you say that?"
"How would Lilith react if she found out you are torturing Alastor?"
"I don't expect her to understand; The crimes that man has committed are unforgivable. And if my memory serves me correct Alastor gave himself up."
"You're lucky he did." Abel turned away but Amaya grabbed his shoulder "Don't think you're in the clear just because you're helping Lilith."
"Really? What are you going to do about it then?" Abel reaches for the dagger on his thigh
Amaya reaches for her grimoire "Move any closer to that dagger and I'll freeze you solid"
Abel grabs the hilt of the dagger and unsheathes it
Amaya casts her spell and freezes Abel.
Amaya lets out a sigh while saying"I told you not to"

"What are you talking about?" Abel was standing behind Amaya unscathed
Amaya looks at Abel and then back to the shattered pieces of ice on the floor. "How did you"
Before Amaya could finish her sentence Abel landed a strike on Amaya's stomach causing her to land on her knees. With a solid strike to her face, Abel sent Amaya flying.
A magic circle appeared underneath Abel which summoned chains to restrain him but Abel was fast enough to dodge all the chains.
Amaya seeing Abel airborne causes her to summon a field of condensed gravity.
Abel falls to the floor with such force it breaks the ground underneath. Abel stands up with minimal effort and prepares to attack Amaya; before he could attack Amaya used an attack spell that shoots out countless blades made of pure magic.
In retaliation, Abel summons 'Ghost Scythe' (A scythe that is transparent and can alter its size) and slams it down at Amaya causing the blades and condensed gravity to dissipate due to her focusing her magic on a magic barrier.
"This has been fun Amaya but time to end this." Abel put more force into the scythe which caused it to break the barrier.
The scythe penetrated Amaya effortlessly.
Amaya screams in pain causing everyone to come running out
"What's wrong?" asked the worried Lilith.
Amaya looked down to see nothing had happened to her.
With a smirk, Abel said, "It'll be in your best interest to not try throwing me into a mental battle."
Abel leaped into the air away from the tent heading towards the enemy territory.
"Mistress Amaya, what was that about?" Lilith said while wrapping Amaya's arm around her to take her inside
"I was testing Abel to see if he was strong enough to be your protector."
Lilith brought Amaya inside their base of operations to let her rest while she figured out a plan.
After an hour of deliberation, Lillia and Lilith agreed on a plan that would ensure victory. An assassination.
Amaya put her two cents in. "This plan will work if everything goes to plan but for it to succeed we are going to need Gord, Benjamin, and Samael; Fortunately two of them are on their way and Benjamin is already here."
"Samael and Father are coming?"
"Well, we need soldiers for war don't we?"
With their plan being completed the war will hopefully come to a close.
As for Abel however, he found himself somewhere particular
"Hello Brother," Abel said the black dragon

March 16, 2021 - Hiatus note: I will come back to this story! I'm really struggling with it, though. It's been a number of years and I kind of forgot what the original outline was. I still remember the main path, but not any of the details, because I stupidly didn't write an outline. Progress is being made. I'd like a very decent sized buffer before I start posting again. Don't want to get hopes up only to immediately disappoint! ----- Amy Barnes, an aspiring chemical researcher, finds herself dying from cancer. One of her most desperate prayers is answered in a way that she'd never dreamed possible, and she finds herself living a new life as a dungeon. Warning: Violence, morbidity Cover: Taken from here, courtesy of www.pexels.com by photographer @tookapic. Author's Note: I've read some dungeon core stories on here, and they've tickled my fancy. I've thought up a whole story, start to finish, and thought it'd be a blast to put it into words. Other than the violent and morbid aspects, this story is suitable for children. Aside from the vocabulary, that is. I will avoid the temptation to have any cursing, sexuality, or gore. Excessive gore, I suppose - it is a dungeon story, after all. I’ll do a little research from time to time, but this story will not have a great deal of rigor. I’ve made Amy’s knowledge comparable to my own for that reason. There’s a few things she knows more about than I do, and a few things that she knows less about. Unlike me, she doesn’t have access to Google - it’s a non issue for her to be more knowledgeable than me, on occasion :P This story does not use the same magic system that I’ve used in either Sorcery in Boston or A Summoner’s Confession. This one is mostly intention based, and designed to be easier access for people who are more used to the idea of, “It’s magic, therefore it works” kind of thinking. Do note that Amy is, in most senses of the term, overpowered. This goes along with the usual dungeon core stories. She’s not more powerful than other dungeons per se, but she does have knowledge and intelligence that puts them to shame. I thought about doing this in a LitRPG style, but systems take balance, and I wanted this to be pure fun to write. This story was inspired from a few sources. Despite the title, it wasn’t really inspired by Of Mice and Men, though some of the themes match. Rather, I’ve taken inspiration from a few dungeon core novels on Royal Road Legends for the main idea. Many conventions of dungeon core stories have been perverted from the genre, however. I’ve taken my usual science-loving self to town to play around with the powers, and I can only hope you have half as much fun reading this as I have had writing it.

Those Zombies Again
One day Sam wakes up in a world full of zombies and tries to survive.PSFirst of all i would not recommend this novel if you haven't read like hundred of novels already. Its pretty weird and depressing novel. This story is told almost completely from MC point of view. Third person.MC is a pretty ugly random guy with different psychological problems. He is antisocial and limited person.Lore - Since MC is limited and barely interested in people or just surroundings, you will get pretty limited descriptions on stuff, it was meant to be like that.Characters - Obviously for the same reason, you will not see much characters, usually you wont get their description or even names.Fights - I personally hate those fights in novels which take like few chapters to describe some shitty encounters. For example MC is making his "move" and then you get half chapter of description of his thoughts and the ways his face is looking, and the way like his opponent surprised and the way crowd is reacting and so on. I really hate all that shit so fights in this novel will be described not that often, only if an equal or a new opponent, and only in a strict and straightforward way, no bullshit. Now this novel is not exactly fantasy, its more like grim realistic-fantasy.But i will have to explain what i mean. Lets take rape in most novels as an example. Usually MC will be justified to rape a girl one way or another. Common example is aphrodisiac. Or the girl were trying to kill him so he had to "punish" her. Or she just happened to jump on his thing and then after rape she become his girlfriend etc, Those are examples of "fan service" in novel. So MC would be justified and readers woun't feel too uncomfortable to read something like that.So there is no "fan service" in this novel, like at all. You will have to read some stuff that will make you feel uncomfortable and you woun't like it.Common sense also means that there is barely gonna be any "random" events which MC is gonna be part of. No treasures and superpowers he founds because he is "special". He will not meet antagonists on his way. This novels world will not spin around MC in any way. He will usually sit in his deep cave and no one around will give a damn about him or even know of his existence. So this novel is not for you to have fun and enjoy reading. Not to make you feel comfortable, satisfied or happy. Its probably the opposite. There are some standards which novel usually sticks to in order to become popular. Obviously i did not meet those standards at all.
