"Don't you look pretty"
(Lilith was wearing an oversized shirt with shorts, leggings, and boots)
"Well, we are going into town, so I thought I would wear something other than my school uniform."
"Then let's get going."
Alastor told Lilith about his conversation with Leon earlier that day on their way to town.
"So if Erin was supposed to resurrect and she didn't, what is her soul doing right now?"
"Her soul is most likely in limbo, and if not, then she did resurrect without letting you guys know."
"I doubt she wouldn't come back to us; I mean, after all, we are friends."
"True"
Five minutes after Lilith and Alastor finished their conversation about Erin, they made it to town.
"So what is it you wanted to look at, Alastor?"
Alastor walked to a stall and bought two parfaits, and handed one to Lilith before responding with, "I just wanted to go on a date with you."
Lilith blushes hard
Alastor sticks his hand out and says, "So, Lil do you want to make this a date?"
She grabs his hand and says, "Yes."
"Then let's get this date started."
Alastor took Lilith to a bunch of different food stalls. They also got each other a pair of clothes that coincidently matched. They even got to see a movie which they both enjoyed.
After the movie, the two indulged in some sweets and proceeded to walk around and enjoy each other's company. They were both at peace in that moment; nothing past, present, or future was going to take ruin that.
"You know Lil, there is nothing better than just enjoying the company of those you hold close."
"Yea, just being here with you at this moment was worth everything I've been through"
Alastor knew precisely what she meant by that. It made him feel happy and sad at the same time because, on the one hand, he made her happy, but on the other, she didn't have to suffer just to be happy.

"Yea being here with you had made all these years worth it because before this, I was alone."
"Don't you have a family?"
"No, they're all gone."
"Oh, I'm so sorry I didn't know."
"Don't worry about it because they deserved it after they all have been through."
The two kept their date going by playing games, from dagger throwing to catching the fish. Eventually, they finished everything the town had to offer and went to sit down on a bench.
"Oh man, that was fun," Alastor exclaimed
"Yea, it really was, but it kind of sucks that we are done looking through town."
"If you really want to keep this date going, we can go to the mountains."
"For real?"
"Yea, but first, I need to go to the bathroom."
Lilith waits on the bench, but she doesn't notice the woman approaching her.
"Who are you waiting for, Lilith?"
Lilith looks over to the person talking to her.
"Oh, it's you, Mistress Amaya!" Lilith said surprised
Mistress Amaya was a blonde-haired human and one of the commanding officers of the Angel Corps
"You don't have to yell my name."
"Sorry, What are you doing here?"
"I wanted to get away from the council; they are tiring."
"That does sound like you. How's my father?"
"He's doing good, and he's worried about you as he always is."
"So Lilith, what are you doing in town today?"
"I'm on a date with a boy."
"Have I met this boy?" she said with a sly grin
"No, he doesn't go to the Academy."
"I see; Are you waiting for him right now?"
"Yea, he went to the bathroom."
"So what's this boy's name?" she said, smiling
"His name is Alastor."
Her smile faded, but she hid it with a facade
"That's a nice name."
"Yea, it is."
Lilith looks over and sees Alastor coming back

"Look, there he is."
Mistress Amaya regained her composure when she realized it wasn't who she thought it was
"You ready to go, Lil?"
"Yea"
"Arent you forgetting to introduce me, Lilith?" said a saddened Mistress Amaya
"Oh, yea! Alastor, this is Mistress Amaya, the one that I told you about earlier."
"Oh, the one that fought off the great evil?"
Alastor was astonished when he heard the story, and now that he is meeting her, he becomes starstruck.
"That's me, and for the record, it wasn't just me. It was the combined effort of four people."
Alastor regains his composure and remembers he is still on a date with Lilith. "Well, it was nice meeting you, Mistress Amaya, but Lil and I are still on a date."
"Well, of course, I can't let your youth go to waste, have fun. And Lilith, next time you go back home, bring your charming boyfriend over there."
Lilith blushes. "I will"
"It was nice meeting you, Mistress Amaya." Alastor waved her goodbye
"Likewise, Alastor"
"She was nice."
Lilith, still blushing at the thought of Alastor being her boyfriend, replies with "Yea, she is"
"Let's make our way to the mountain."
The nearest mountain was thirty miles, but that was nothing for Alastor, who princess carried Lilith the entire way there.
The mountain itself had a beautiful view at the top, and below was a waterfall full of life. The mountain was also filled with the sound of life, and to top it all off, there was a large overhang.
The sun was starting to set when they arrived.
"T-this sunset is beautiful" Lilith was blushing hard because she was sitting on Alastors lap while he embraced her.
"Not as beautiful as you."
Her heart is racing fast, and she feels happy.
"Alastor"
"Yea?" He kisses her neck
"I love you!" She turns around and kisses him knocking him over
The night falls, and the stars dance, but they aren't the only things to be dancing that night
*The next day*
"Man, where is Lilith? She is never late to training."
"She's probably still exhausted from her date."
A shadow comes from above, and they all lookup
Alastor lands with Lilith in his arms
"Sorry, we didn't notice the sun was already in the sky!"
"IN THE SKY!" Lillia yelled, "It has been up for four hours."
Leon gave an insight into what he was thinking. "Wait, have you guys been out all night?"
Lilith blushes
Lillia calmed down and gave a smug response, "What were you two doing all night?"
"Having se-" Alastor was trying to give his response, but Lilith shut his mouth before he could complete it.
"We fell asleep at the mountain nearby."
"Fine, I'll let it slide this time," Lillia stated
Alastor looked at Leon and signaled him to talk in private. The others were trying to hear what they were talking about. Still, Alastor canceled out their conversation from other people's ears.
"Did you learn anything new about Erin?"
"Yes, while I was on my date, I went to the black market to learn about tracking effigies and how to fix them if damaged. I'm telling you this now, the process is going to take a long time."
"That's fine as long as we get Erin back."
The two return to see the other in the same position as when they left. Alastor rolled his eyes and said "I know you were trying to listen"
They all sighed and confessed that it was all Lillias fault
"Wait, what!" Lillia said with a shocked expression
The group went off to train, leaving Alastor by himself. Alastor went to the tree and started meditating.
Suddenly the world went black, and now he was surrounded by nothingness. Alastor opens his eyes and hears, "Hey Alastor, long time no see."

8 136The Paths of Magick
Credits: Story by Xcaliburnt. Cover Art by @Bervolart. Magick, the power to bend the laws of reality. All because of a mystical substance known as mana. Mages follow the Paths to achieve power, for there is no more addictive chase. Each Path winds and twists, forcing mages through the flames of adversity and challenge. Though the operative word is "path", the reality is far less straightforward. Instead of a road, Paths are like the branches of world trees, erupting into the heavens, intertwining, and ending in sharp snaps. Only the strongest reach the sky. There are several Paths, and many Ways to walk them—variations of the same Path, and like the stars, they are endless. Magick is the sacred flame that scours the fat, rendering the truest self. Superfluous flesh melting away to show the skeleton of one's being. A chance for ascension—apotheosis. Though not every mage works to godhood, if they survive long enough, It is inescapable. Witness the lives of those that tread the knife's edge of self-destruction. Each one intertwined in their search for answers, revenge, and, most of all: power. These individuals have all lost something precious—irreplaceable—and In search of filling the void left behind, they have taken up the mantle of a mage. Per aspera ad astra. Ad mortem vel divinitatis. (Through adversity to the stars. To death or divinity.) There is no consistent release schedule except my consistent inconsistency. Besides, there’s like a thousand pages worth of content, how can—you already read it? Goddamn. Oh, and there is a very long hiatus between volumes as I intend to edit and rewrite a lot. What to Expect: This story is progression fantasy, so expect a healthy dose of training. It's also heavy on slice of life, and it isn't entirely overarching-plot-driven. Expect characters to live their lives, and not always be on some quest to save the world. There's a lot of magic theory and discussion about it in the story. So, if you don't like impromptu lessons on sorcerous theory by traveling monster slayers, this might not be for you. But if you do like it, rejoice! For there is a lot of it. This is also heavy on prose, purple as a bruised eye. I use outdated, uneccesarily collegiate-level terms and play around with the writing style just for the heck of it. I find it fun to wax and wane poetic, and that might grate on you—I don’t plan to change this aspect of the Paths much if at all. Onto the viewer discretion is advised parts: This is grim-dark/ grim-heart. Take the tags seriously. There will be combat scenes that are brutal and horrifying. Fights to the death tend to be. This is a tale about medieval mercenaries (quite literal killers for hire), man-eating monsters, and eldritch gods beyond the material plane. Beside that, there will be traumatic events that are best left unread. I do not detail certain acts I find heinous enough, instead leaving some parts unwritten but still alludded to if not outright stated; there is simply no graphic narration thereof. This is not for the faint of heart.
8 282(Discontinued) Aevitas - Not an NPC [unfinished]
A discontinued story. I don't advise people to read this story, but it is the basis for my new one: Aevitas — I am not an NPC [R] New remodelled version may not yet be out, but if it isn't it should be 'soon'.
8 61Goddess' Landing
Once, a goddess descended from a star and gave birth to magic, but it sparked a long-lasting war between two fronts. Only a hundred years had passed since her disappearance, and a young smith holds the key to unlocking its cause.
