《Is this some kind of joke, God?》Change of Location | 7

Damn civilians, I could have obliterated this city well before offense! This Being, whoever he is, this "god"—no, that's not reasonable to call him that—is trying to deceive me. This damn world came first, and now this.
To ensure that I don't make the same errors again, I must evaluate the entire situation that comes next. In addition, I have to maintain emotional control. I can't afford to continue making irrational choices that won't be beneficial to me in the long or short term.
Agh, the situation has gotten problematic. I sighed and looked around to make sure no one was following us. There was undoubtedly nothing left of the city but ruins and debris, but we could still hear our artillery firing. The fact that I received EXP from all the kills there gave me a grin once more.
Besides that, contrary to my initial concerns, it appears that the loss of equipment will not result from the causalities of my men. These men eventually perish, taking their equipment with them.
Although how I called my nation, "The Empire" sounds cold, it is a fitting description of the nation where my soldiers were viewed as nothing more than a human resources. I didn't have an issue with it though, because it's simply the way that things are, and that's how the leaders always has treated the subjects of their authority.
Everything started to slow down at that precise moment, as though the car were being slowed from 100 to 0, and after a while, time came to a complete stop. Except for me, nothing moved. After some time, Erica and Maria began talking in a deep, masculine voice.
"I gave you another chance, but you haven't changed, and you're still showing disrespect to the name of God."
"Who are you?"
"I am what you consider to be a god. When you first entered this wonderful world, I gave you a warm welcome."
Wonderful? What is he talking about when all that is present is poverty and suffering and when everybody around me appears to deplore me? I took out my pistol, and pointed it at Maria and Erica. What will the being do now?
"So you did interfere, you cannot be god, god would never allow it, in that instant you must be-"
"Devil?"
"Perhaps, or something similar, "Lucifer". What do you want from me?"
"You might still recall your previous life's words. "I won't accept the existence of a god." "It is illogical." "Only the weak and those who are in dire straits put their faith in such fairy tales to aid their mental health." That's why I made the decision to transport you to a world created by the hand of god, so you could first hand see it, in the naive hope that you will rediscover your faith. Yet you've failed me."
"Ooo? I'm sorry but, I'm in such a position in which I need no faith and besides. I do not wish to genuinely think in any gods or other supernatural beings. You are unfortunate, I guess."
"So in order for you to regain your faith, I have to make your conditions deplorable and dire?"
"Wait, that's not what I meant!"
"Very well. Try to survive, there will be no second chances."
"Wait, just wait!"
All of a sudden, time began to move normally again. Erica and Maria were caught off guard to find me suddenly pointing a gun at them. What else is Lucifer going to come up with! Fuck, fuck! I couldn't help but smile.
"Haha, what a misunderstanding."
"Alpha-1A reporting completion of the "Lighting Strike" mission, standing on standby" is what I eventually hear. When we eventually made it to the base, Heintz welcomed us with obvious signs of worry.
"What happened? When I tried to order the artillery to stop, they replied that I lacked the necessary authority!"
"You can relax; I gave that order. The operation was a complete failure, with a 91% loss rate. I had to divert the enemy as a result."
"What precisely do you imply by failing? Every detail was prepared..."
"It was, but the enemy demonstrated to be significantly more powerful than we had initially expected. Have everyone prepared to evacuate; we're leaving this rump."
We cannot afford to remain in the same location because the enemy has probably long since determined our location by examining the artillery shell direction. Furthermore, I was concerned about Lucifer, self-proclaimed shit, we have to get out of here. The faster the better.
Considering a new location for a base I began to look at every location that just might work, and it eventually became clear that an island seemed to be the best location because it would fulfill both military and defensive requirements. It is the ideal location. This is the first step in my strategy for success, but I'm curious what the nearby guard will do given that the entire village has been devastated. Are they even going to notice? I hope that there will be peace for at least a week or two even Though I have no concept how quickly news travels in this world.
When everything was ready to be moved after about two hours, I summoned more soldiers and I summoned in more transport units for them. For the infantry, half-track and regular trucks are primarily used. To further secure our convoy, I made the decision to call in about 10 Panzer IV and 5 Panzer V Panther tanks.
"Convoy units, get ready in T-minus 5 minutes."
We finally departed. I was naturally in one of the tanks at the front of the convoy as usual. I was with Maria and Erica. Heintz was positioned roughly in the center of the convoy. Our convoy resembled one from Fury, but it was bigger and more mechanized. The beach is a good place to start and unquestionably preferable to the last one that we had before we will discover the island. This will allow me to summon the navy.
We were on our way to the "breeze" of the ocean as we drove along the road, knowing that it wasn't far away. I hoped we wouldn't run into anyone who might alert the local authorities to our presence. When one did appear, I even considered killing him; it was cold-blooded but necessary for survival. Now, I will stop at nothing to defeat Lucifer and prove to him that he is nothing.
At all costs, even if it means committing numerous violent crimes, I must survive. Everything else is irrelevant to me. It is strange how "War," or better yet, "Conflict," can transform a person. Now not even blinking an eye, I treat my people like raw materials to be used, whereas not so long ago the thought of a corpse almost made me throw up. Could Lucifer be influencing me in some way? Is this a glimpse of his upcoming game? No. Impossible. I must utilize rational thinking. I can stay alive that way.
Moreover, I still did not use the option to increase my rank.

"Rank up"
Congratulations Generalmajor! On your new rank! You have acquired new title!
My attire changed abruptly. It had changed to a green color with gold accents, and my pants are now gray with red accent. The bird on my breast, which may be a magpie or whatever, has turned golden. On the red background, the silver rank on my arms changed to interlaced gold. Silver turned into gold on the cap, as well. Undoubtedly terrible. I'm more distinctive than my soldiers, therefore I'll be faster and easier to locate and strike.

There are a fair amount more of them than I anticipated; the most recent one that immediately comes to mind is "Slime Slayer," which I recently had acquired. The text on the last title are mixed up in an odd text glitch, which is strange. Even the War Criminal title is helpful among the remaining ones. In addition, it appears that ability of my soldiers to damage and defend gets stronger with each rank.
Without counting my first rank, it appears that it goes up by 10% with each rank. Therefore, when I achieve the highest rank, it will be 100%. Unless there are unrevealed effects that I am not yet aware of. Additionally, judging from the colors, the titles appear as follows: Red, the highest level; Green, the potential for further development; And as for blue, I'm not sure.
I didn't realize there was a question mark next to my name until later. Will there ever be a time when I can alter my name? Or worse, Lucifer will change it for me to whatever he thinks would be more suitable than the current one. Problematic.
Anyhow, the chase for the beach went on. The sound of the ocean was already audible by the time I had dealt with the rank and check titles.
I grinned.
"Finally."
