Lola anxiously looked in the rough direction of the setting sun as her colourless null gem floated a few inches above her hands. Lola's attention was interrupted by the sound of a handstanding Sophia being toppling over by a tired Scarlett crashing into her.
"Is something bothering you, sweetie?" Akari asked. Lola looked over at Snow as her colourless null gem floated above her hands before looking at Akari.
"Papa's been gone for a while," Lola stated. Nola chuckled making the others look over at her while she was laying on the picnic blanket.
"Maybe he's waiting for the sun to go down so he doesn't have to keep his tails out, justifying it by saying he didn't see you completing your training before the sun went down." Nola joked. Lola frantically shook her head dismissively at Nola's remark.
"Papa would never do that! He probably just stumbled across an a-" Lola said but paused when she spotted Zalroth rapidly approaching while descending from the sky. Lola quickly got up and hurried over to Zalroth, as he landed on the ground.
"Behold, papa!" Lola exclaimed proudly while presenting her completely colourless, floating null gem.
"Way to go, fluffkins," Zalroth said as he ruffled Lola's hair. Lola's tails playfully swayed from side to side as Zalroth continued to ruffle her hair.
"So you're not going to hide your tails right?" Lola worryingly asked. Zalroth quickly glanced over at Snow, Scarlett and Sophia.
"Well, you all seem to have completed the training I gave you before the sunsetted, so I guess I'll keep my tails out.". Lola cheered before hopping onto Zalroth's tails and snuggling herself inside, with Kusana quickly floating over and diving into Zalroth's tails as well. Zalroth exhaustedly exhaled and, as he sat down, Nola lazily grabbed one of Zalroth's tails before covering her face with it.
"Mother of Scarlett and Snow, do you know when we're going to start travelling?" Kusana asked as she stuffed her hair into one of Zalroth's tails.
"Most likely tomorrow since the pattern we seem to be doing is camping for a day, then travelling for two to three days," Akari explained. Kusana nodded her head before she disappeared into the tail she was in. Sophia picked up an exhausted Scarlett and placed her on top of the tail Nola covered her face with. Sophia sat up making a few of her bones click and intentionally clicked her neck. Sophia got onto one knee and bowed to Akari.
"Akari-dono, would it be a problem if more people were to join us?" Sophia asked.
"Of course it's not, but we should still ask the chief first.". Sophia thanked her as she struggled to her feet.

Charlotte and Ruby were sitting next to each other by the campfire as Charlotte inspected her sword with Ruby and Star watching her. Charlotte let out an agitated groan as she swung her head back and fell backwards in her chair.
"This is such a pain, I can't sense anything; this is almost as infuriating as having monochromatic vision." Charlotte voiced while continuing to complain. Ruby rubbed her eyes and looked behind her when she heard Xero approaching. Charlotte looked up at Xero and let out a yawn before she slowly sat up.
"You got a new assignment from Lady Callie?" Ruby asked and Xero nodded his head. Star look disappointed at hearing Xero was leaving.
"Do you... really?" Star asked with a disappointed tone. Xero nodded his head before he jumped into the air and flew off. Star rested her head against Elizabeth's arm and meekly sighed. Elizabeth chuckled a little to herself and patted Star on the head. Charlotte rolled backwards before standing her chair up and sitting back down.
"Say, Ruby, where'd you find my sword anyway?" Charlotte inquired as she reached for a marshmallow on a stick.
"Huh? Oh yeah, Sophia said her sensei found it... oh right I ran into Sophia earlier when me and Star were returning a toy Xero found.". The other kunoichis, excluding Alex who was completely passed out with a large straw hat, with a pink strip, over her face, became surprised at the mention of Sophia's name, except Star who was just confused at everyone's surprise.
"Oh okay, that's cool." Charlotte calmly remarked before eating her marshmallow. Ruby made a huh noise as she looked at Charlotte with a perplexed expression.
"Look Ruby, I don't have the energy to be surprised anymore today.". Ruby scratched her twitching ear as she panned her eyes away from the group. Ruby abruptly stood up and raced off, making Charlotte sigh as she went to get another marshmallow. Ruby quickly raced back and whispered something to Charlotte that made her sigh.
"Fine..." Charlotte tiredly replied. Ruby giddily spun around and called someone over by waving her hand. The group wondered what Ruby was doing as she hurried back to where she ran off too and dragged an embarrassed Sophia out from the forest. Ruby managed to drag Sophia halfway between the forest and the group before Sophia was tackle-hugged by Luna. Luna wrapped her arms around Sophia as tightly as she could with her face pressed between Sophia's chest.
"Fifi!" A muffled Luna playfully shouted.
"Hey, Lu-" Sophia managed to say before she and Luna were accidentally tackled to the ground by Heather when she tried to hug Sophia. Elizabeth chuckled to herself as Heather frantically got up and apologised to the dazed Sophia and Luna.

"Who is she?" Star asked Elizabeth with a confused tone.
"Oh, she's Sophia; she's the girl Ruby's always mumbling about in her sleep," Elizabeth whispered into Star's ear.
"Oh, you mean the scary lady?". Elizabeth shook her head which confused Star again.
"Noo... that's someone else... I'm referring to the-" Elizabeth managed to say before a red mana tendril covered her mouth. Elizabeth menacingly giggled making the tendril rapidly retract back into the aura of a flustered Rudy.
"So, what did you want to tell us?" Charlotte asked as she created a ball of water and splashed Sophia in the face with it. Sophia sat up, with Luna sliding down Sophia's body until she had her face on Sophia's lap, and shook the water out of her hair.
"Right..." Sophia muttered as she rubbed her head.
"I have a proposition for you gals," Sophia stated.
Meanwhile, Providence marched throughout the throne room while he mumbled to himself. A pale white-skinned girl with sheep ears and tail in a light grey short dress trailed behind Providence. Providence came to an abrupt stop and the girl bumped into him. The girl looked up at providence with her flowing rainbow-coloured eyes and he looked down at her in turn.
"Is there something you need Destiny?" Providence asked as he placed his left hand on her snow white sheep wool-like hair with bright magic particles flowing out of it. He fluffed Destiny's hair as he readjusted her silver tiara with a rainbow-coloured gem embedded in it.
"Not really, father, I was just wondering why you're talking to yourself." Destiny cheekily remarked.
"Also why are you always wearing those black b-". Destiny's question was cut short by Providence firmly ruffling her hair. Destiny grabbed Providence's hand with her hands and tried to make him let go, but to no avail.
"Father, why do you always do this?" Destiny whined as she tried to escape Providence's relentless hair ruffling.
"Maybe if you stop asking me the same question I'll give you a different response," Providence replied as he let go of Destiny's head. Destiny rapidly rubbed her head with an agitated expression on her face.
"Meanie!" Destiny pouted before she started to storm off. Providence smirked as he started to walk back to the collection of thrones.
"Could you inform your mother that the other magistrates will be arriving quite early tomorrow, so she knows to take a break and visit the hot springs tonight?" Providence requested as he sat on his throne. Destiny's pouty face quickly shifted to a giddy excited face as her eyes lit up at hearing Providence's request.
"Okie-Dokie." Destiny stated. Providence watched as he saw Destiny seeming warped, with the space between her and the throne room entrance for an instant, from the middle of the throne room to the entrance and ran out. Providence rapidly blinked a few times and even rubbed his eyes.
"Maybe I'm the one who needs to take a break.". Providence mumbled as multiple royal guards escorted nobles into the throne room. Providence sighed and straightened out his posture.
Destiny stormed into a large and tall cluttered office with books piled unnaturally high. Destiny manoeuvred through the maze of piled books until she arrived at a clearing where a moderately tall woman sleeping with long hair had her head resting on a long desk. The woman had a striking resemblance to Destiny, including the pale white skin, snow white woolly hair, sheep ears and tail.
Destiny hurried over and shook the woman's shoulder causing her to abruptly sit up and snort. The woman cleared her throat and put on her black reading glasses.
"Sorry dear it would appear I dozed off for a sec, so what can I help you with?" the woman.
"Father said Mother should take a break in the hot springs in preparations for the other magi-men arrival tomorrow." Destiny explained. Destiny's mother pushed the ridge of her glasses and stood up while moving her chair back slightly with her foot.
"Is that so? It would be in poor taste to show myself to the magistrates in my current condition, now wouldn't it., hehe." The queen joked.
"Five." The queen said. A female royal kunoichi, wearing a ninja variant of the golden royal guard armour, suddenly appeared from a cyan cloud that flowed into their armour.
"What can I do for you, Lady Fate?" Five asked while bowing on one knee.
"Could you inform the people at the royal hot springs that Destiny and I will be visiting?" Fate requested. Five nodded her head.
"Understood and should I assume Emperor king Providence is joining you?".
"I did overhear father mentioning he was wondering if he might need a break," Destiny replied. Five nodded her head and said she'd ask him before she disappeared in a cloud of cyan clouds. Fate yawned as Destiny grabbed her hand and led her through the maze of books.

Flame Beneath The Snowfall
Alto is a world governed by Tones. Magic, as one might call it. Manifested through deep mental and physical conditioning, one can control the Tones in a way that is unique to them. The power to store items in gems, transfer life, affect a person's mind, and even the more primal abilities such as control of the elements. Those who have these supernatural abilities are called 'Vassals.' People that fully manifest their abilities are not as common as one might think, and not all Vassals acquire their ability through practice, given if conditions are met. In fact, those who had received much trauma manifest the Tones more frequently, albeit spontaneously. However, the rare kind of Vassals are those who manifest it from childhood. A gift, but not without its repercussions. Alto is stuck in a transitional era, where the line between modern and dated technology is blurred. One can travel to a city that has a tall skyline, bustling with people in sophisticated clothing, or a mere town governed by a lord, all the while riding on a powered vehicle. Cultures vary: Some turn to the more dated practices such as castes, others are more inclined to set equal footing on their people, led by nobility. Some are dedicated to become scholars, studying Alto's Tones, while others set foot on hunts, protecting lone towns from the creatures of some of the still-untamed lands. And the Vassals? Those willing are took under The Organization, an elusive group, its presence said to permeate all throughout Alto, taking care of Rogue Vassals that abuse their abilities and other businesses related to their side. But what is this story all about, you may ask? Well, set your sights on the upper portions of this huge landmass that is Alto. Yes, the 'whole' world is called Alto, but that is because the majority of the known people live on this large continent. Relieve yourself of the worrying tensions everywhere, and see the white snow. Trace the piercing mountaintops and focus your eyes between the valley. A town sits there. Mido. After realizing that the memories only left in his mind was the night of his town's imminent destruction in flames, a boy finds himself grasping for every fiber of his life as he lays down flat on the ground. Beneath him was soot mixed with the white snow. Fortunately, a group of investigators, who were supposed to answer their call for help, saved him from his sorry state. With a newfound second wind, but hampered by his loss of memory, he must solve his own case: Who had the audacity to set Mido, his town, aflame? Flame Beneath the Snowfall focuses on action, with a sense of adventure, but mostly the discovery of an outside world, and the protagonist's exposure to it. Add in a whisk of soft magical elements, and you get a story that I hope will be interesting to the readers. That is not to say that my work is without the sense of unnerving atmosphere, however. As a forewarning, there are elements of gore, horror, minor elements of mental trauma, etc. so it is not for all audiences. *The book is already completed. Although I have plans to continue the story (it would have to involve much larger scope in terms of world-building), I have yet to decide when to start the next entry.
