《Azure Chronicles》Chapter 24: Travel Break Part 4

A black mist formed in an empty and closed arcade, signified by the closed sign facing outside. The mist gathered together before it dispersed and Majin was now standing in the middle of the arcade. She held her breath for a few seconds and listened for anyone before letting out a relieved sigh.
"You know this place is only open at night, my lady, so there's no need to be paranoid." an old and deep masculine voice stated. Majin huffed before using some of her mana strings to straighten the crooked blinds. She strolled over to the ring-shaped bar located in the centre of the arcade and sat down on a stool. She slammed her head on the counter as a man in a black and dark red pirate-themed butler outfit approached her while he was cleaning multiple glasses with his six spider-like arms, two in the place where people normally have them and the other six protruding from the back of his shoulders.
"Give me the usual..." Majin murmured as she pulled her hood down with her mana strings, and pulled out her long crystally purple/magenta hair from her cloak.
"Which is?". The black-haired, which is made from the same material as his arms, asked as he straightened his black mask with a large glowing red V over the middle section of the mask.
"What's that suppose to mean?!" Majin shouted as she looked up with her ring eyes morphing into rapidly spinning infinity symbols. The man just stared at Majin with an unwavering stare.
"What do you think it means, my lady?". Majin rolled her eyes, as they reverted to their normal ring shape, and rested her head on her fist.
"Can I get the... Pinkie... Patootie, Kukamo." Majin requested while slightly blushing. Kukamo chuckled a little, which made Majin blush even harder and let out an annoyed hum. He placed all the clean glasses on the middle table inside the bar ring before grabbing a beer glass and a glass bottle filled with a pink liquid called Pink Luma Fruit Extract(0% dilution). He placed the beer cup in front of Majin and poured the pink Luma Fruit Extract into the glass until it was three-quarters full. He put the bottle back and then picked up ten small fire mana crystals and a wine bottle. He sprinkled the gems in and filled the rest of the beer glass with wine.
"So, how'd your little excursion go, if I might ask?" Kukamo asked as he put the wine bottle back on the overhead shelf and stacked the shot glasses. Majin let out a tired groan before slowly grabbing the Pinkie Patootie and taking a swig. Kukamo sombrely shook his head and mentally prepared himself.
"Aaahhh~," Majin said with a satisfied tone. Kukamo tilted his head in response to Majin's sudden change in demeanour.
"It was awesome, not only did I manage to illude that Xero robot guy but I even got to tussle with the empire's top dog~" Majin gleefully divulged. However, her excited demeanour slowly faded into a confused one as she quickly looked around.

"Where's Fei and Mei?" Majin asked before taking another swig of her drink.
"Due to someone's less than subpar planning skills, everyone's clothes were destroyed so they decide to go and buy some more." Majin awkwardly looked away while continuing to drink her drink.
"Thanks for that..." Majin frustratedly murmured. A realisation suddenly came to Kukamo that made him look directly at Majin, who was now sulking.
"Does that mean you were fighting a heavily armed and skill warrior... naked?" Kukamo asked with a perplexed and concerned tone. Majin tunred her head
"Yeah, what off it." Majin nonchalantly replied while drinking. Kukamo disappointedly shook his head and said it was nothing she'd be concerned with before he walked to the other side of the ring bar. Majin scratched her head and shrugged before continuing to drink her beverage.
Meanwhile, Kusana intently watched a group of kids lead Mikou to a tree with a football stuck in its branches. The kids tried to explain what happened but kept talking over each other to the point their voices became a collection of incomprehensible noises. By the time the kids had stopped talking over each other Mikou had already recovered the football. He dropped the football onto the ground and kicked the football away from the trees. The kids thanked him before they all rushed off back to their small makeshift football pitch.
"Mikou! Can you come over, I need your help with something." Rosa shouted from far away. Mikou let out a quick exhale before walking in the direction of Rosa. Kusana watched Mikou walk away before gazing over at the kids playing football.
"Do you want to join them?" Nola asked. Kusana turned around before descending to the ground and sat down on the picnic blanket, with her continuing to float.
"Nnnnn~ Kusana does not, Kusana would prefer to watch Candy Cats.". Snow's concentration was instantly interrupted at the mention of Candy Cats which caused her floating, slightly silver and green, Null Gem to drop into her palm.
"You watch... Candy Cats, too?" Snow quietly asked. Kusana looked in Snow's direction and slowly nodded.
"Kusana does, the orange one's Kusana's favourite.".
"Mine's Tuxedo Cat." Snow replied. Kusana floated over to Snow and the two started to whisper to each other about the show. Scarlett placed the tip of her Null Sword on the ground and wiped her forehead. Nola picked up a drumstick and went to take a bite.
"Say, uhm miss...". Nola noticed that Scarlett was trying to get her attention by waving her free hand in front of her.
"It's Nola," Nola said as she placed the drumstick she was holding on the plate of drumsticks.
"Miss Nola... how long do you think it will take for us to finish this training exercise?" Scarlett asked with a slightly tired expression. Nola placed a finger on her bottom lip and thought for a few seconds with her eyes closed.

"Well... after a multitude of very complicated calculations, I've concluded it will take...". Scarlett intently nodded her head in anticipation of Nola's answer.
"Six hours if you train non-stop...". Scarlett firmly nodded and turned to go back to training, making Nola frantically grab Scarlett's arm.
"Hey, I wasn't finished.". Scarlett apologized before sitting down and intently listening to Nola.
"Ok as I was saying, it will take you six hours if you train non-stop with ten-minute breaks every twenty minutes, that goes for all three of you." Nola smugly stated with a confident grin.
"Ohh, yeah that makes more sense, hehe?" Scarlett awkwardly remarked while rubbing the back of her head.
"Though I think it'd be better for you if you have a fifteen-minute break after every fifteen minutes of training," Nola explained while Scarlett was intently nodding. Nola said that was all she had to say before Scarlett thanked her and hurried to her feet. Scarlett gleefully skittered back to her training spot. Nola let out a relieved sigh and flopped onto her back.
"Urrg, so hungry," Nola complained before grabbing a drumstick and putting it in her mouth like a lollipop. Nola, while having her eyes closed and managing to make her slightly shiny silver Null Gem float, wrapped a tail around a drumstick. Lola lifted the drumstick towards her mouth and greedily took a bite out of it.
Meanwhile, Star let out a yawn and slowly opened her eyes. She quickly sat up from Elizabeth's lap and accidentally headbutted Elizabeth in the chin. Star painfully rubbed her forehead while an unfazed Elizabeth clicked her neck as she asked Star if she was ok.
"Y-yeah..." Star embarrassingly replied. Star noticed Xero off in the distance looking at Snow's Tuxedo Cat plushie while scanning it. Elizabeth noticed Star was staring at the plushie in Xero's hand. Elizabeth chuckled to herself making Star look up at her.
"Are you interested in the toy Mr Xero has, perhaps?" Elizabeth asked. Star tried to deny it by shaking her head, but the amused giggling from Elizabeth made her slowly stop shaking her head.
"Maybe..." Star murmured. Elizabeth patted Star on the head before she picked her up and placed her on the ground.
"Would you like me to walk with you, little one?" Elizabeth asked while locking her fingers together.
"Thants ness... that's not necessary," Star replied before trying to walk over to Xero and almost falling over a few times, with Elizabeth watching her with an unnerving grin. As Star fumbled her way over to Xero she tripped over but was caught by Xero with the hand he was holding the cat plushie in, causing it to squeak. Xero pushes Star to her feet, while he unintentionally lets go of the cat plushie. Star quickly caught the cat plushie in her arms before it could fall too far. Xero turned and looked down at Star while she was looking at the cat plushie.
"Mr Xero, why do you have a Tuxedo Cat plushie?". Star looked at Xero's face for a few seconds before suddenly being spooked by seemingly nothing.
"O-oh, So you found it at a destroyed village and were wondering how you were going to find its owner?" Star sheepishly asked with a slightly jittery tone. Xero nodded his head.
"I'm sure big sis Ruby-". Almost like she had teleportation magic, Ruby suddenly appeared from the sky and landed next to Star.
"You called?" Ruby said while giving Star a big grin.
"Can you help me and Mr Xero find the owner?" Star requested while presenting the Tuxedo Cat plushie to Ruby. Ruby crouched down and inspected the plushie with a goofily serious expression. Ruby placed her hand on the plushie and closed her eyes. For a brief moment, Ruby was covered by a veil of red mana before it quickly disappeared.
"Woah, they're really close," Ruby said as she opened her eyes and stood back up.
"R-really?" Star asked. Ruby confidently nodded her head.
"Of course, I may not be very good at distinguishing multiple bundled mana very well but the distance is no issue," Ruby commented.
"If that's the case can we go... now?" Star pleaded.
"I dunno it's probably a bad idea for you to leave the campsite in your current condition..." Ruby mumbled the last of her words as looked down at Star, as she was giving Ruby puppy dog eyes. Ruby both mentally and physically struggled to try and say no, even banging the sides of her head with her wrists.
"I don't see the problem if you carry her there, sister Ruby," Elizabeth said as she approached the group. Ruby lowered her arms and asked if that was a good idea.
"Luna mentioned that Star would be back to a fully stable condition by tomorrow, so I'm sure it'll be fine.". Ruby seemed conflicted but when she looked into Star's puppy dog eyes again she reluctantly sighed.
"Fine, since Eliza said it's alright," Ruby said. Star quietly, but happily, thanked the two before climbing up Ruby's back.
"However, I suggest you change into some casual clothes first," Elizabeth remarked. The two of them looked confusedly at Elizabeth before at their clothes and realising they were still wearing their pyjamas, which were both bear onesies; Ruby in a red one and Star in a pink one. Ruby awkwardly chuckled before she slowly made her way to their tent.

Braza the Architect - Magical Crafter, Builder, and Adventurer!
This is the story of an older man who lived a hard but full life, being reincarnated into a fantasy world as a human-lizard hybrid. The new world is violent, magic is real, a game-like development system crushes physics and natural law under its ambivalent thumb, and myth and legend don't just meet, they chase you down to eat you.Follow Braza as he tries to make a very different life for himself in a familiar but ultimately alien world. In this story the protaginist will not just be a muscle bound monster. He is not a proper hero, willing to sacrifice himself for the good of a stranger, but neither is he a maniacal villain. He is trying to survive, and he is trying to give himself and those he deems himself responsible for a seat at the table of the"goodly", the "civilized" races. He is trying to create a secure home for his people, to arrange beneficial trade agreements, explore ancient ruins, decipher ancient runes, push the boundaries of magic to create a better life for everyone around him, to learn about the history of the world and the multiverse, and ultimately attempt to become powerful enough to take on a being that even the gods themselves fear. This is my first story and it blends many different elements and styles. It's a bit darker than most of what I have read on Royal Road, but even with that, I hope you give it a try, and I hope you like it!

A D&D Gamer in Garweeze Wurld
He doesn't know how he got here, and while the trappings are familiar, he doesn't actually know where he is, either. From the perspective of those around him, Duromar is a half-ogre barbarian, an uncivilized brute by any standard you care to use. But from his perspective, he's a character created in a gaming system. From either one, he must live within the rules of that system. This is the story of a gamer who ends up in a game that's just a bit off from what he knows. ---- I wanted to write something a little bit old-school. Most of the LitRPG I've found seems to be based on computer RPG styled stories. Progression through levels is fast, and depending on the game, skills and even attributes can be trained with or without class levels. This wasn't true with the older pen and paper games, and that's the style of leveling I wanted to write.
