As Evo and I planned out and constructed the layout for the new base, we got into some small problems. Like not having any materials to use for our base or that it takes a long time to mine out a mountain on my own. Solved those problems as I kept mining, like for the materials just used my editing powers, technically a gadget, to just change what material and design I wanted the walls and floors to look like. As for the mining part, Evo helped out as he just detached from my suit and made a small body for himself and started mining away, a bit faster than I can do. Took a few hours of non stop mining and designing, but we finally finished it.

“‘Phew that was a lot of work that I have done in a little while,” as I sit on the floor

“Sure did sir, I even needed to make my small physical body that I made to be more built and efficient for mining,” as Evo walks up to me.

“Well, we got the walls, ceiling, and the floor finished. Now I just have to fill the rooms up with furniture, which we don’t even have to begin with.” as I lay down for the first time in a long time.

‘Forgot how laying down feels like, even without a pillow or a bed this is still relaxing,’ as I think to myself for a few minutes before Evo speaks up.

“Sir, I have the information to make the furniture and items, and at the same time you have the ability to edit the item or structure you look at.”

“What's that supposed to mean?” as I get up

“What I meant sir is that, I could build the look of a furniture and item, and you just need to edit what kind of material it needs to work. An example would be a chair, I would construct a chair structure and you edit to what material you want it to be, like wood or leather.” as Evo gives a small demonstration.

“Oh I get what you mean. That’s a pretty good idea, but I am kind of bored and would prefer to explore right now,” as I lie back down.

“Well sir, I could just build the stuff while you are away, you don’t necessarily need to keep watch of me, plus you can use the suits ability on your own without me, I only upgrade it or make it more easier and efficient for you to use, and plus you can adapt to any environment,” as Evo points out.

“I didn’t think of that, plus I get to use my own knowledge to use the suit on my own and at the same time explore!” as I get up excitedly.”But won’t it be hard for you, you know, building them with that small body?” as I point out

“You forgot that I can evolve and upgrade myself right? I can utilize the minerals and resources that I mine from the mountain to upgrade myself and use it to build them,” as Evo starts drilling into a wall that I just fixed.

"Goodluck then, I’ll be heading to that universe that I saved, I think it will be interesting,” as I search for it.

“Alright… I think this is it,” as I bring up the description of the universe.

“Huh, this is not what I expected to see, and this is making me abit worried. There must be something more hidden about this story than I currently don’t know, and I am about to ruin it, or maybe fix it? But right now it says here the main character is near me, so I should probably go invisible and try to locate him before he does,” as I locate the function to make myself go invisible.

“Alright now that I am invisible let's go find him or her,” as I fiddle with my suit to make myself fly.

“Now, where is that main character,” as I scan the area with some of the instruments that can locate humans and , hopefully, other creatures near me.

“Hmm now that I think about it, having a futuristic look and having a mask that looks like a universe or space and at the same time wearing a suit might look very suspicious and out of place to my current place. Although I don’t know what the clothing style would look like in this time and type of this universe, I think just having a white and blue shirt with a tie, and maybe with black pants with running shoes is probably fine, maybe having a hat and a fake backpack would be good enough,” as I change, remove, and hide all the features related to my suit and mask looking completely like a normal human would like.

“Now that’s out of the way, time to continue searching for the main character,” as I get a notice of a human-shaped figure, with a few other humanoid creatures right next to him traveling on creatures.

“That’s probably him or her, as I remember correctly main characters will always be in some kind of weird conflict all the time and I am the main conflict that he or she will experience, and also that it’s the only group showing up in my map in a 10-25 km radius. Now to make them not be scared or be ready to defend themselves I should probably be kind of easily seen. Probably that bunch of packed bushes and trees that are near their path a couple of hundred meters away,” as I quickly and quietly go down to the ground and go visible and be hidden in the bushes.

“Now Sally, be friendly and cheerful to the people that we are about to meet ok?” as I pat her and she smiles and nods.

“Huh, that's the first time she does that, that’s nice. Right now I need to time myself coming out of these bushes,” as I spy on them slowly coming towards my location.

“So, what’s the estimated time until we reach the kingdom that could help with stabilizing the portal gateway to my world again?” as I try to understand magic even more.

“Like I said again Devan, it will be another couple of hours before we reach there,” as Kessia says in a frustrated tone.

“Wish could at least ask Linnetia to help, giving some tips for improving myself on magic,” as Devan tries to make a more complicated and powerful cast, just as Fianna slaps him on the back of his back.

“Ow! You didn’t need to do that, you know Fianna,” as I turned around to confront her.

“You wouldn’t stop to cast that spell if you I were to nudge or speak up to you, you get really concentrated on it while doing one,” as she makes a thump when sitting down.” As for Linnetia, let her rest. She was awake all night trying to do some research on you, and your kind.” as she lays back on a wall with her legs crossed.

“Expected of her to do that, I’ll practice more again later when she wakes up,” as I got up and went to Kessia.

“Seen anything strange lately, while we travel?” as I sit right next to her.

“Only a few harmless animals nearby that I have heard and seen, but real danger? Currently none,” as she feeds the Volbon

As they travel quietly for a bit more, Kessia get’s alarmed and calls out to them.

“Hey! I think I see someone near the bushes, near the forest,” as she points out in front.

As I get my binoculars out, ”Where?”

“Leftside, over of those clumped bushes with 4 trees near them,” as she becomes more cautious.

“Huh, I think I see a hat poking out, and I think a backpack?” as I watch it move revealing itself.

“Wait, he wears the clothing that my people wear in my world!” as I get shocked

“How is that even possible? I thought you said you were the only one that was sent out from your world?” as Fianna walks towards us and looks at it.

“I don’t even know, but we should at least be cautious and be prepared to fight,” as Kessie and Fianna nod, and get their weapons ready near them just in case.

“Huh, looks like I see 1 clearly human, and 2 that seem to be from a fantasy game or story. Looking like one is an animal-human hybrid wearing some medieval looking armor, maybe a werewolf, and a person that seems to be fused with plants, maybe a druid. But overall I should probably address myself, but how am I gonna do that? It usually takes a few minutes of me listening to them talking to decipher and understand. Eh hope for the best, might as well approach them slowly, lets go Sally and meet these groups.” as I casually leave and slowly walk towards them.

As they get closer I start to hear their conversation, sounding a bit paranoid and cautious, clearly prepared and ready to counterattack when I make any hostile movement. As we were about a few meters away they stopped and the human walked up to me, assuming to be the main character, and tried to talk to me. Of course I couldn’t understand what they were saying, but I did know that they tried to introduce themselves. After a few seconds of attempted communication, the person looked at one of his companions, or friends, and seemed to be giving an idea to solve this problem, judging by the fact from their reaction and hand signals they are expressing. After another few seconds of waiting, another humanoid creature walks in slowly wearing a green robe with a hat on top, seemingly hiding the features of what they look like. As they talked, and seemed to see what they missed and what’s happening, I started to understand their language, well only the guy’s language I could understand quickly.

“Wow they sure love to talk a lot, but it’s helpful for me as it just makes it go faster for me to understand the language. I think I should remind them I am still here,” as I speak up

“Um, hey I am still here you know?” as the guy turns around quickly in confusion and shock to look at me.

“What the! I thought you couldn’t understand us, and how can you speak English?” as the guy steps back.

“Oh I can only understand you, for now, I just need to adjust my version of English towards yours. As for your other companions, still trying to figure it out,” as I point towards the 3 of them.

“What do you mean by your version of English?” as the guy asks it in confusion.

“Don’t worry about it, anyway, could you translate what they are saying towards me? We haven’t done any introductions yet, I'll start off first as I am the one who technically approached you guys,” as I cleared my throat.

“Oh I can do that for you, and we will also introduce ourselves,” as he turns around and tells them what I said.

“Anyway’s I am Jed, and this is Sally my cute pet companion,” as Sally re-camouflages back to her original color to be seen easier.

“Oh wow, I didn’t even notice your pet, and nice to meet you Jed. Name is Devan, I am of course a human if you couldn't tell, the one that is covered in plants and looks like she is about to turn into a tree is Kessia, she’s like a druid in those fantasy mythological creatures.” as he points towards her.” The one that is very tall, wearing armor, carrying a double edge war ax and a shield and looks like a wolf, is Fianna” as he points towards her.” Lastly, the one covering her body with a robe and wearing a stereotypical witch hat is Linnetia, she’s a bit sleep deprived as she hasn't slept for a while.” as he points towards the last person.

“Nice to meet you Devan and the rest of your team. Is it ok if I come along with you guys, we can talk to each other and know more for ourselves, plus I am just exploring around, not knowing where I am going,” as I try to sound persuasive and friendly.

As Devan thinks and turns around to talk towards them for a couple of seconds before answering my question.

“Yes you can join us but you are gonna need help out along with our journey,” as he gives a gesture to come up.

“That’s fine with me,” as I follow behind

As I got up, I realized how elevated they were while traveling around.

“Ya, had the same reaction when getting up on this thing for my first time as well,” as Devan sits down.

“So, where are you guys going?” as we start moving.

“We are going to the Tridentum Kingdom, as we need their support to help make a stabilizer to well stabilize the portal I went into, as we only have 2 weeks left until it reopens again. Don’t want to wait another month to reopen again,” as he relaxes.” Oh ya, could you tell more about yourself Jed and maybe your pet?” as Devan sits right back up.

“Well I am an explorer, I explore all kinds of places and biomes all over the worlds. Don’t really carry a map as that isn’t a real adventure or exploration, I also try to meet new creatures and people whenever I can as I don't frequently encounter them. As for Sally, she is like a hybrid of an axolotl and a snake.” as I take her off my neck and hand over to Devan .

“Woah she looks so cool, never seen an axolotl in person, especially a hybrid of two animals” as Devan holds her up.

“Yup pretty cool.” as I relax on the floor. “How about you, care to explain yourself a bit more?”

“Well as you know I am a scout or well technically a messenger, as I negotiate with the people in this world to have a stable path to my world, so the higher ups in my world can trade with them and help out, and yes I am a soldier, but more fit and trained for surviving on my own in the wild rather than what normal soldiers would do,” as he proudly says it.

“So how about the other 3?” as I point towards the three.

“Well, I think it’s better if I let them explain it for themselves,” as he sighs and calls them out.

“Well, I still can’t understand them, you know? Well I can kind of can, but will take a few more minutes”

“Oh ya that is true. Hey Linnetia! Cast something that translates your guy's language to Jed, just like what you did when we first met!” as he calls her out and seems to respond back.

“She said ok, give it a few seconds for it to work, and don’t worry it’s painful, it just feels weird,” as Devan gives a thumbs up.

“Alright then,” as I wait for a couple of seconds before being able to start understanding what they are saying

“Oh nice, I can understand them now. Sure love magic and there physics breaking logic,”

“Can you understand us now? If so hello there Jed, and if not don’t respond,” as Linnetia speaks up.

“Yes it worked, I can understand you now,” as I reply back.

“That’s wonderful! Now this will only last for a couple of hours, so you gotta get a translation before it wears off,” as Linnetia warms me.

“Don’t worry I'll figure it out, since I am one”

“Hope so, but anyways I heard you are introducing yourself and telling more about yourself, and wanted Devan to describe us?” as she rephrased what I said to what I told to Devan.

“You are correct on that”

“Then I will introduce myself properly,” as she sits down right next to me

“My name is Linnetia Rondralë I am a mana researcher, I study the history, make, and form of mana of every kind. Also includes me studying different spells, summoning circles, spell books and the fundamental structure of the world.” as she lists things out.

“Wait, fundamental structure of the world? Does she mean atoms and elements? If so I am guessing that they are combining magic and science together, but judging by how she described it the civilization just only started to do it. Wait, that also means you can use science to your advantage for casting spells, if I were to guess…I’ll ask her” as I raise my hand.

“Question, could you briefly explain how mana and magic work?” as I act confused.

“I thought you already knew this, since you are part of this world right? Unless you are like Devan here that got here by a portal from his world, judging by the fact that you are wearing clothing that isn’t seen in our world or kingdom” as she also becomes skeptical of me.

“Oh ya, forgot that I only told Devan this since you couldn’t understand me, but yes I ain’t from this world, if you judge from how I look,” as I already reveal one of my secrets.

“That makes sense, anyways mana is basically one of the energy sources of all living and nonliving things in our world. We can still survive without a single drop in our body, but we would be weak and frail, and even paralyzed in a rare scenario. As for how we can use mana to make spells to use for attacking, supporting or in any everyday life, you have to think what kind of type of magic you want to use. An example like water magic, just imagine the water droplets and moisture around in the air and start to slowly picture it forming into one big drop,” as she demonstrates, “This is a small water ball as I wasn’t very specific and or casting a big spell. To have a more powerful spell, you have to be more specific and complicated to your image in your head, like the structure of water or how it moves. Of course it’s not just that, that makes your spell more powerful. Experience, knowledge/information, and quantity/quality of mana that also helps it.” as she takes a break after she finishes talking.

“So, are there also tiers or like skill barriers of what type of magic we can’t use? Like someone can’t use fire magic since they are focused on water magic?” as I become more interested in this.

“Oh can I answer this question Linnetia?” as Devan excitedly says it.

“Oh sure go ahead,” as she relaxes

“There isn’t actually a limit or barrier on what type of magic you can’t learn, isn’t that awesome!” as he stands up and celebrates, “Sorry,” as he sits back down and calms down, ”Anyways the only limit that prevents you is, what body structure or species you are, as Linnetia says that the bigger you are, the more you can hold magic in. The knowledge and information gap you have, basically if you know basic science you are going to be powerful.” as he goes back relaxing.

“Wait, what about something like quantity or quality of mana, like what Linnetia said when explaining to me what the basics of magic are?” as I come up with the amount of things I could do with mana.

“Oh ya that, currently I think the common man like breathing open air is only 25% pure mana, as it’s mixed with other gasses and energy. Don’t really know much about it, so I'll let Linnetia explain it,” as he points to her.

“What? Can’t even rest, you are a horrible person Devan,” as she is mad at Devan.

“Sorry,”

“Anyway, to get better quality mana, you gotta either make it your own, find plants and objects that can enhance the making of mana, or go deeper into the ground, as the top researchers in the whole empire, located that there is more higher quality mana underground than on top. Of course they also noticed that on higher elevations, like mountains, there is also an increase of higher quality mana, from 60-80%,” as she takes another break.

“So, are there like support magic, like healing?” as I realize how dumb of a question I asked for.

“There are, but if you want to learn more about them, ask Fianna,” as she points towards the direction where she was seated.” Wait, I swore she was just there a couple of minutes ago,”

“Hey, heard someone say my name,” she appears behind us.

“Ahh!, you gotta stop doing that Fianna, it still scares me how you can’t make any sound even with you wearing metal armor,” as Linnetia panics and takes fast breaths.

“Hahaha, still funny doing that to you as you are the only one that gives a good reaction,” as she sits down right next to us.” So, why did you call me?”

“Oh, I was just telling Jed that he should ask you about support magic and the branch of it, as you are an expert on it,”

“Sure I can do that, don’t really have anything to do so might as well tell you about it,” as she then looks at me.

“Alright so, support magic, there are different types, buffs, debuffs, blessings, and curses. Buffs can be different forms, either by using a buff using your own magic or from someone, group buffs, equipment buffs, they come from of course enchanted equipment from someone experienced in enchanting or artifacts. Buffs can either enhance your body or mana from a short period of time, or if it’s an equipment then it's permanent. Same thing for debuffs but makes you weaker. Then there are blessings, they are basically an advanced version of buffs but can only be obtained either when you were born, from a high classed priest, or given to you by gods. For curses, they can be given by a spell, a cursed artifact, from a monster, or from gods that acknowledge your horrible crimes or rules you have broken.” as she lays down on the floor.

“Huh, that's neat and useful, and what do you mean by artifacts and gods?” as I write them down secretly in my suit.

“Artifacts are basically naturally generated enhanced armor in dungeons and creatures, or from an advanced enchanter that went all out on. Of course there are different types, there are egos and bounded artifacts. Ego’s are basically top tier artifacts that have gained sentience and can either want to help the user who equipped them or not. Bounded artifacts act like a blessing and a curse, as once you equip it or use it, it will be stuck to you forever until you die or broken. Of course it also means no one can steal it as it’s part of you now.” as she goes back to laying down before remembering something, “Oh ya, there is a special type of bounded artifact. It’s called soul bounded artifact,”

“What’s special about normal bounded artifacts?”

“Well normal bounded artifacts can be taken off, only if that part of the body is either cut off or has been destroyed. Soul bounded artifacts, make it so when you wear it, it acts like a bounded artifact but when it breaks your soul gets destroyed,” as she became serious when saying that.

“Alright then, I'll try to avoid them. How about gods?”

“Well there are different gods, species type, world type, and universal type. Species type gods, as the name suggests, is specific on one particular species and nothing else. An example being the elf gods and goddesses, they will only protect and help out elves or any branches and hybrids of elves. World-type gods can help out all species in the world, and sometimes influence other things, like battles, luck, non-sapient creatures, and objects. Then there are universal types, they can do what species and world types have, but can control a large or even main part of life and world, like the elemental champion, he can control and balance what magic is being casted. According to the worshippers, he hasn’t stopped or bothered stopping anyone using any type of magic, unless another god asks them to do something, which most of the time he ignores.” as she goes back to lying down.

“Hmm, question for all of you. What jobs or classes do you guys have?” as I remembered that fantasy stories usually have classes.

“Well for me, I am a mix of a ranger and a magician, as I usually use a ranged weapon mixed with magic, and a bit of close combat,” as Devan speaks up first.

“For me, I am classified to most people as a researcher, but I am also a bloodwitched magician,” as Linnetia proudly says.

“What does that mean?” as I have never heard of that combination before

“Well… I am able to see people’s blood with my eyes, making it possible for me to not only do research on biological material and creatures, but also be able to control and divert blood away or into someone’s body, making people think I am also a witch. That’s why I call myself the bloodwitched magician.”

“Wait, people can just make up their own class? Since I have never heard of that class” as I realize how many classes there are going to be.

“You are correct on that, although everyone can learn every type of magic and technique, people usually just focus on between 1-3 magic type as it’s much easier to remember and focus on training and upgrading,” as Linnetia explains it.

“Alright then,”

“My turn now,” as Fianna gets everyone’s attention and gets up ”I am a Life Berserker, I can buff to a very short range, so I usually only buff myself. Anything I hurt and kill I get a small piece of their buffs they have and heal my wounds and injuries I have to myself, and if I am not injured, I regain a bit of mana instead.” as she proudly says it.

“Wow, you sound very powerful and considering how built you are for being a berserker, I say it fits ya,” as I compliment her

“Thank you for the compliment” as she lays back down

"You are welcome, why did I do that," as I clear my mind off

“What about Kessia? She has been focused and silent the entire time while we talked?” as I look at her for a quick second, still focused on the path.

“Well she has to be focused since she is the driver, but I can tell you about her,” as Linnetia volunteered to explain to Kessia.

“I’ll allow you to do it Linnetia, I'll properly introduce myself once I see a good spot to stop upon,” as she speaks up.

“Alright then, Kessia is a druid, well her species is a druid, but her class title is also a druid. What’s unique about her compared to other druids of her own species is that she has the Nature’s curse.” as she gets sad abit but slowly goes back to being positive mood.

“Wait, Nature's curse? How did she even get that curse if she is part of nature?” as I get more confused.

As Linnetia was about to explain, the ride stops, Kessia announces that we will be camping one last night, as she estimates it will be 3-4 hours before we reach the kingdom. Everyone gets up and starts to unpack and start making a campfire, while Kessia walks towards me.

“Hey, the name is Kessia Phylene, and like what Linnetia said, my species and class is the same, and before I tell you more about myself and the curse, that was a bit rude of saying that we are part of nature, although you are correct not all of us are part of nature,” as Kessia get a bit offended before calming down.

“Sorry, sorry,” as I apologize profusely

“It’s fine, I'll let it slide for now. Now about the curse, the curse makes it so your body will slowly turn your whole body into a plant, making you unable to move and act like a plant when you fully turn into one. Now, how I got the curse is by an artifact, and it’s a cursed bound type which is one of the worst things any creature would want to avoid. But since it’s an artifact, I’d also get some benefits, like being more friendly towards any passive plants and creatures, and enhancing my magic abilities. The curse on the other hand, states that I would only live for 1 year before fully turning into a plant, but since I am a druid I am mostly immune to the curse and instead taking advantage of it and using my plant half as armor, energy source, and a weapon. So technically it's a blessing.” as Kessia shows her control over the curse.

“Oh wow, so what do you specialize in other types of magic?” as I get more intrigued.

“Well, summoning and taming magic of course, also known as animal magic, since creatures are more calm towards me, I decided to take advantage of it and focused more on this type and not just Nature related magic. Also specialize in light, and earth magic to help with my plant body, while still progressing with water and wind magic, I could learn more, but I could get overwelmed” as she makes the curse go back to its normal form.

“Now that is cool and smart, now I think we should go help the others with the camp,” as I walk towards the campfire that Devan made, and notice that Kessia is not following. “You coming?”

“No, I am staying with the Volbon, as if I even go near the fire, there is a high chance I would go into spontaneous combustion, since you know plants are kind of weak to fire,” as she points to her plant side.

“You have a fair point,” as I go towards the campfire and sit down near it, while Kessia goes to the animal and starts patting it.

“Here have some meat,” as Fianna offers me one.

“Sure, thank you,” as I took the meat off of Fianna’s hand and started to eat it.

“Wait, I just realized, this is my first time eating in the last few days or even weeks! Wow, thank gosh for my suit and my body adapting or I would have already been in pain and weak, probably dead!”

As everyone sits around the camp, talking to each other more and me telling about my companion Sally and also a little bit about myself.
