LBF Chapter 30 The Butwa Siblings
The man who had spoken was slender and handsome. He looked like he was someone in his twenties and had a very sharp gaze. Nino and the others didn't want to stare into his eyes for too long as he was too intimidating. His long purple hair fell down onto his shoulders, forming a contrast with the white suit he was wearing.
Apart from the clan leader who was a god, this man was the only person on their entire clan who garnered respect even in the other nearby domains. The reason was that he was very strong! He was in the list of the top five powerful demigods in Pantheon city. He had even managed to earn himself the privilege of having a carving on that street containing the legendary figures. His name was Fumu Butwa.
"Big brother, you want to go out and fight? Will that be appropriate?" The youngest among them, Elisa asked. She was pouting. If Fumu mobilised, she felt that she might miss out on the chance to fight.
"All of us in the top ten have gotten very string, but we want to advance even further. Our clan must get the fruit. I am pretty sure the others as powerful as me will be there. Elisa my dear, are you confident in handling all of them?" Fumu asked with a grin on his lips.
"..." Elisa couldn't come up with a retort so she stayed quiet.
'...the fruit is going to ultimately end up with him. I thought he was going to give up, but it seems I was too naive!' Nino became gloomy. 'Though it will be good if the clan manages to gain another god.' Since he had given up, his face once again lit up with a smile.
"So, who's going?" Another person asked. Nino could see that all had given up the moment their eldest brother had chosen to go. Their minute chances of getting the fruit for themselves had sunk down to zero.
"I will go. Elisa, are you going?" Nino asked.
"Since big brother is going, then...I will go. Big brother, could you at least not act beforehand?" Elisa asked with hopeful eyes.
"Everyone already knows how he looks like, there is no way he wouldn't start a commotion the moment he appears. Even if he goes with a disguise, it will be pointless." Another of the people at the table said. She was a tall woman dressed in a punk like style, casually lounging in the chair as if it was a sofa.
"Elisa, there will be a next time. I know you wanted to at least test your mettle against the other scions, but this auction is just too important. We don't even know when another batch of fruits will manage to appear in the future." Fumu said.
"Nino, you will be in charge of the bidding. All of you have to provide the funds needed. Elemental crystals are worthless, so, it will rare treasures that will probably be used." Fumu turned to Nino.
"Now, all of you, it will be better that you start sending over the treasures you have managed to find." Nino said. A wide grin was plastered on his face. If he won the bid and there was a surplus, there was no way he was going to return it. The others saw his grin and shuddered upon thinking if what was to come.

A long time had passed since he last had a moment of peace and relaxation to himself. But ever since he had made his way into Pantheon, those moments had become frequent.
Damien traversed a path in between two well trimmed bushes. They had purple leaves and flowers which were glistening in the sun. Even without sensing anything, his instincts were warning of a faint danger from the plants. Upon thinking of the Butwa clan's specialisation, he concluded that the plants were probably poisonous. But it didn't stop at just these plants, every plant life form growing within this estate was poisonous! The Butwa clan was truly terrifying! Every breath that he was taking in caused many toxins to make their way into his body, and all, without exception had the capability to affect demigods!
Damien had been shocked upon first noticing that fact but for some reason after checking himself, he found that the poison didn't affect him at all. It was as if it was in an inert state.
After ascertaining that fact, he had proceeded to stroll around, taking in the beauty of the estate. Outside this dimension, out there in the galaxy, such occasions were he wasn't occupied had been rare. Years were spent tracking down the people he had wanted to kill and after every mission, he immediately took on another one. The time to rest hadn't existed.
'Now, I am even enjoying looking at plants? How life changes!' He shook his head while chuckling. He had thought that the moment he made it into Pantheon city he would be fighting some more, but he was starting to find that it had been wishful thinking on his part.
'Though, if I hadn't coincidentally bumped into Nino and Nina, I would have chosen my old profession of hinting down criminals. There were millions of demigods in Pantheon city, making it hard to believe that some wouldn't resort to unsavory measures to increase their strength. Though, so far he hadn't found out any information about an organisation punishing such people. He simply hadn't had the time. Nino had promised to give him an AI chip in a few days, and he was still waiting for it.
They were apparently expensive, requiring the user to be rich enough to afford it, and most in that category were demigods. It was also dangerous as someone below that level couldn't merge with it. Only someone with a nascent divinity was capable of handling it. It was so handy that, it could even assist in battles if it gathered enough information.
'I wonder what their meeting is about!' Damien looked sideways to the purple mansion in curiosity. It was small, far smaller than he had anticipated, but apparently the inside had been spatially expanded.
-----
"We need treasures comparable to nascent divinities. Anything less, and we won't be able to bid." Fumu said. They were still in the meeting room. The light from the sky fell into the room at an angle, mixing with the purple glow from the wood of the table, making for a mesmerising sight.
"Nascent divinity level treasures...all these years I have only managed to collect four which aren't useful to me." Someone among the purple haired people around the table said.

"I have seven." Fumu directly said causing gasps to echoed out in the room.
Elemental synthesis was the ability to make elemental particles which could only exist in a string like form to behave as atoms. Elemental synthesis wasn't the only way through which to create new matter, new elemental atomic matter was also created by the land at which Pantheon city itself sat. An elemental particle, let's say a flame particle with a fire nucleus and fire particles orbiting it the way electrons orbited their nucleus in a normal atom, was a just a one elemental particle no matter how many rings of flame particles orbited the nucleus. If another elemental particle, let's say, earth, replaced one of the flame particles in orbit or the nucleus itself, then it became a two elemental particle.
A demigod's nascent divinity was made up of six elemental strings while a six elemental particle was made up of six different particles in the formation of a normal atom. For some reason, only Pantheon, apart from elemental synthesizers could naturally give birth to elemental atoms. It was one of the reasons why demigods were produced at such a fast rate. Matter composed of six elemental atoms was called nascent matter or nascent divinity matter.
"I also have four, one of them is usable by everyone, a nascent armor." Nino took this time to speak out.
"An armor? Don't you need it for yourself?" They were all taken aback and one took the turn to ask. A nascent treasure compatible with every type of nascent divinity was rare. It was shocking that Nino was willing to trade out such a rare gem instead of hiding it away and using it himself. You had to know that 99.9% of all nascent treasures birthed from nascent matter were only suitable for a specific class nascent divinity!
"Forget the armour. Its not important. What's important is that we should find something which is highly appealing to those synthesizer people." Someone else spoke. It was a woman clad in a purple dress which was emphasizing her plentiful bosom. She had a mature look to her which gave off big sister vibes.
"What do you mean?" Nino asked what all the others were thinking.
"Synthesizers love unsculpted nascent materials fresh from the resource sites. We should target that angle." The woman suggested.
"Good point. But we will also add in the finished products, just in case. Even us, the rulers of the domain have very little amounts of nascent material on hand." Ligo said.
"..." The woman didn't add anything else.
"Nino, it looks like you will have to take the trip to a certain resource site. A few hundreds of years have passed, so I am sure that the yellow grass has matured." Fumu turned to Nino.
"What about you big brother? What will you be doing?" Nino asked. He didn't want to be doing all the work while the older brother reaped all the rewards.
"I will be scouting for information. I want to know whether the other Pantheon ten will be there." Fumu said.
"...reasonable. Now, can we conclude this meeting? I have a few busy projects on hand." Another man spoke. He had the same purple hair as the others, but it was dishevelled and glasses were covering his eyes. He had eyebags as if it had been ages since he last got some sleep.
"Oh, I always forget that you are here with us. Dido, did you finally break through and become a six elemental synthesizer?" Elisa asked with glowing eyes.
"Nah! It is very had to synthesize something at the nascent level from scratch. But I am going to keep trying. Breakthroughs always come from experimentation." The man adjusted his glasses and answered her seriously.
"Its about time we end the meeting...Nino, you brought someone new at this place, are you going to introduce us?" The mature woman asked. Her eyes were glinting with an unknown light.
"Not today, maybe another time." Nino turned her down without any hesitation.
-----
"Nino, this mansion of your is interesting. Poison is basically everywhere." Damien said as he stood upon a bridge where the water was pure white. It was so white that he even suspected that when night came, it would be glowing. Nino was at his side, having arrived a few minutes ago. The two had been silent before Damien's words.
"This is the legacy of the Butwa clan. Arranging everything within this estate was very very difficult." Nino's face took on an ugly expression as if he had remembered something unpleasant.
"Though, what puzzles me is why the poison appears to enter an inert state the moment it makes it into my body."
"That was because you were invited in. This entire estate is...how do I put it...spiritual. If someone is brought in by a clan member, the poison won't affect them, but try to break in...hehehehehe...let's just say you won't be able to survive." Nino warned.
"So, now that the meeting is over, what's the next step?" Damien asked. They were in the inner region of the domain, the centre of Pantheon city, where the elemental particles were supposed to be denser, though it seemed like they had been locked out from entering this place as Damien could only feel poison particles in the surroundings.
"There is a certain resource that has reached maturity. We have been too lazy to harvest it, but now that the auction is important, we need to first pick it up." Nino said while turning away from the bridge. Damien followed behind him as they made their way out of the gardens.

8 184The Order
The Order takes place within the Human-led Empire, within Glory City. In this Empire in which Magic is policed and its use is regulated, Mages are required to have a licence in order to practice Magic. The Magically inclined, Non-Human Races that have lived under Human rule lived a markedly different life to Humans, which had led to a somewhat contentious relationship. A law enforcement agency known as The Order is responsible for maintaining Magical order, and is also responsible for doling out justice to those who break the law. Consisting of the Magic using Mages, and the more technologically inclined Knights, these Agents are regarded as protectors by some, but as oppressors by many. The tale follows the exploits of Izano Zuko, a mysterious man, covered from head to toe in burn scars and wrapped in bandages. He arrives in Glory City with the backing of the City Lord, unknown abilities and secret intentions. Trouble starts up almost as soon as he arrives, and Zuko is thrown into a conflict between the Order and an unknown enemy. This is a complete book, and I plan to upload a chapter every week or so.
