Sonata soon arrived at her hometown of Palamino Creek only for all of the main entrances and exits to be blocked off by the FIrst, Second, Third, and Fourth Rangers Battalions with the Fifth Ranger Battalion as a rearguard. Sonata knew it would be a one-way fight.

Sonata told herself in her head that her mother got them into this trouble. Still, she'll try to have a peaceful resolution where she knew that the elite army rangers in their steel ranger armor with Cold War-era weapons against rebels with American Civil War to World War Two era weapons.

Sonata then talked to Lieutenant-Colonel Midnight Sparkle Waterson a twenty-three Second Korean War veteran who wanted to know why Sonata is there only for Sonata to tell her that she was there to end the conflict peacefully not to start a third world war.

Lt-Col Midnight allowed it due to she never made peace with her mother who was a stuck up witch and they never buried the hatchet because she and Midnight's father were on the way to her volleyball game only for the breaks not to work and a 1960's tractor-trailer hit their car and her father told a cop before dying was to tell Midnight that he always loved her.

Lt-Col Midnight gave Sonata five minutes to peacefully end the resolution or brute force it to an end.

Sonata replied "That for an attractive woman she's hardly any love but mostly anger."

Lt-Col Midnight replied, "Well when you had a mother who expected you to get straight A's in school and would dislike it if you got an A- you kinda build up that anger. But that's Waterson's specialty. Also you're on the clock,"

Sonata then went inside the town with only a piece of garrote wire due to if she brought her weapons then it would've kicked it off right away.

In town hall.

Sonata's mother was sitting in a leather rolling chair looking out of the three vertical picture windows over the town. But the solid oak double doors opened.

"Sonata," said Nicole Jackson, "I'd been wondering when you would've showed up. Came later than I imagined. But I highly doubt you came to give up and apologize,"

Sonata replied, "Mom. I'm here as a daughter not as the enemy and I'm here to try to peacefully end this without it ending in bloodshed. Well, this dumb religion always confesses not to start wars or be in fights but I wonder what they would say hearing about the group here taking over a town and going to start a war."

Nicole didn't want it to end peacefully saying she didn't work her way up by sleeping with the mayor even though she lied through her teeth. She didn't care that her forces of religious fanatics are outnumbered and outgunned.

Nicole didn't care to take into consideration that the rangers have support from the Marines and Airforce with the Marines providing twelve P-115 Gunships armed with a 20mm three-barrel Gatling cannon, sixteen freefire rockets, four Air to Air missiles, and 19 unguided rockets. And the airforce is ready to provide air support ranging from Napalm strikes, Tank buster rounds (a jet with a 30mm rotary cannon), laser-guided bombs, and cluster munitions as well.

But if need be the Airforce and provide a squadron of C-15J long-range subsonic jet-powered strategic bombers for a carpet bombing run but the War Dept doesn't want to waste sixty high explosive bombs.

Sonata tried her best to reason with her mother and saying that if the Army rangers captured her then she would either be placed in federal prison for treason and starting a rebellion and will gladly hurt others or placed in a prison and face death row which could be the electric chair, hanging, or a firing squad.

Sonata then left when she couldn't get it through her mother's head that the War Dept didn't send any green draftees to fight but battle harden and veteran rangers who "eat nails and spit napalm" will fight.

Back at the town's southern entrance.

"I'd don't think it went well," said Lt-Col Midnight

Sonata replied, "Honestly I don't care anymore. If you have to raise the town down with repeated Napalm strikes. If you have to use chemicals on them to drive them out."

Lt-Col Midnight replied, "Chemical warfare been banned three times. Once in 1923, again in the late 1970s, and again in 1993. But I'd guess we're doing this then."

The battle did begin and as Sonata told her mother that it was a one-way battle as it was due to the rebels more or less were using relics of the past not adding they had hardly any combat training or tactics compared to the Army Rangers who have more experienced officers and decide right on the fly.

About thirty of the cult members decided to flee from the fight only to run right into an ambush from the Fourth Ranger Battalion on the town's left side if facing south. Not adding the Army Rangers from the Fourth Battalion also hid in the foliage.

Sonata was actually surprised that they have weapons she had never seen before but the weapons the Army Rangers have are prototype Laser Rifles and Rapid Laser Rapid Capacitor Weapon even though the latter looks like a futuristic Tommy gun.

The battle was long but also quick where it only lasted for only half an hour and the damage was kept to a minimum even though the tanks and IFVs didn't participate due to it would've been overkill due to a 90mm, and a 105mm tank cannon and 25mm autocannon or a 75mm cannon from the IFV's would've been overkill.

They captured Nicole alive not adding a riot gun with a rocksalt round did it for her knocking her out and she with a few others was taken into military custody.

Sonata then decided to return to Camp Thunder. But she never thought about what happened to her mother or what will happen to her in the long run but she hopes she gets placed in the electric chair without the wet sponge.

The townfolks went back to work and continued life as normal even though the damage from the battle was paid for by the War Department and military engineers fixed anything that was broken or destroyed during the fight. But nobody minded and didn't care and we're glad everything now went back to normal but they ran the rest of the "Almighty Believer" out of town and the rest of the country of Little Bird with heavy prosecution with rebelling and causing to start a global takeover and prosecute the non-members in their cult.

Sonata is happy that they're gone and she wouldn't know what to think if they took over the world. Not adding they would've had to deal with the Warsaw Pact, NATO, SEATO, Inter-American Treaty of Reciprocal Assistance, ANZUS, Mutual Defense Treaty (both US and Philippines and US and Republic of Korea and the US), and other military alliances across the globe.

But what Sonata doesn't know that their military scientists are reverse-engineering alien technology so they can make laser weapons and advanced medicines.
