《Worldview》Chapter 15, War of the Kings I

[The incarnation ‘Mia Becker’ has acquired a hero attribute.]
[The incarnation ‘Mia Becker’ has become 'Combat Physician'.]
I watched as white blinding aura covered Mia Becker. The gangster stumbled away shocked, processing in his mind what had happened. Another one of my companions attribute evolved? Really? I was amazed on how fast my companions growth were. It wouldn't be a stretch to say I was the cause of all this. A slight smirk appeared onto my face. Mia rose and stepped in front of me.
"If you want Aksel, you'll have to go through me." She shifted her right foot back slightly, as if to conclude that the choice she made was final and she wasn't playing about.
[The Incarnation 'Mia Becker' has used the stigma 'Stringed Healing Lv. 2'.]
A thin green string stemmed from Mia's waist and attached itself to me. At once I could feel my vitality and strength coming back to me instantly, it slowly seeped her magic power.
"Stay here Aksel. I'll fend them off for you. Just recover and have my back when you're done."
Mia Becker looked back at me then smiled. I could tell that she changed. It was a smile that showed that she had fully adapted to this new world. A smile that was almost unfamiliar to me aswell. She really had changed.
Mia flew forward with the string still attached to her waist and gave a vertical slice down a gangsters arm. He screamed out in pain and Mia Becker finished the job by stabbing his other arm. The rest of the followers ran and hid behind Atticus. Atticus watched in awe and stumbled greatly into trying to walk back.
"No! I told you to kill her!! What are you doing?!"
Mia Becker diverted her attention towards Atticus and rushed forward.
"Stop!!"
[The Incarnation 'Atticus Aran' has used Voice Manipulation Lv. 4!]
Mia stood for a moment as if she was phased. If he knew anything about her, he wouldn't have used his skill. Too bad his voice fell on deaf ears. Mia Becker looked up at him again and closed the distance between them at once, she had the knife at his throat and Atticus winced as the knife barely scraped his throat.
Poof!
Giryu? No. It was a different dokkaebi this time, I recalled the messages of the different channels when we arrived at Ujiron. Could this be the representative for this scenario?
[Greetings to you all. Some new faces and an interesting scenario happening right now.]
Everyone looked up at the dokkaebi.
[Unfortunately, the countdown is over and we'll be starting the next scenario. Get ready.]
The dokkaebi vanished again and a new window appeared.
[Main Scenario #3 – Green Zone (Day 3)]

Category: Main
Difficulty: C
Clear Conditions: Occupy the 'green zone' in the station and survive the monsters that emerge every night at midnight. This scenario will last 5 days.
Duration: 8 hours.
Compensation: 1,000 coins
Failure: ―
Phew. I was lucky we were already half way through the scenario. I figured this type of thing would appear, that's why this plan was crucial. Due to all the commotion happening upstairs, the majority of green zones that were occupied right were now 0. In addition, I also took out a major problem in the scenario. Atticus' reputation now fell significantly and his hold on the station had demolished in a matter of minutes.
[The Constellation 'Military Sage' admires your strategy.]
[You have been sponsored 200 coins.]
[The Constellation 'Victorious Lion Heart' is displeased by your cowardice.]
Damn you, constellation. In a way, this was cowardice. But I'm not stupid. If I had not done anything then I would've surely died in this scenario. It was finally time to address the situation and I stood up.
"Good job, Mia." I had a devilish grin on my face. We had finally conquered Atticus. I could see the rage on his face.
"We'll need to find a green zone for us quickly."
At the sound of my words, everyone scattered immediately. Mia grabbed Atticus and chucked him forward. Luckily, Leo had already woken up at this time and was ready for action. We fled downstairs and discovered a green zone that could contain 5 people. At this moment, we could see the monsters spawning in and leaping onto the station rapidly. I watched as many people were savagely ripped to shreds by the monsters. There was no way I could save them all. About 60 people would die today.
I pushed this thought deep inside my subconsciousness, this was the only way I and the people I cared about survived. We entered the green zone.
[Green Zone 0/5 > Green Zone 5/5]
I patted the little boys head and covered his eyes. The impact of my decision showed greatly. Now, it'd be the waiting game. We had to endure this for 2 more days.
During the two days, we all took turns watching out for anyone who tried to take our green zone. Mia was in charge of keeping Atticus in check as she could easily nullify his voice manipulation technique. I was surprised to find that some people were holding their own without a green zone in the station. They were fighting against the monsters who came every midnight and sometimes stood victorious. But an overwhelming majority of them were cut down by the monsters, this event showed me how powerful this station was. I closed my eyes.
...
"Aksel..."
"Aksel."
"Aksel!"

I suddenly jolted upright and woke up to Mia Becker calling me. I saw the gory remains of last nights scenario. I felt something tugging on my thigh and when I looked down, I saw the little boy I picked up three days ago using my thigh as a pillow. In fear of him waking up, I didn't move much but watched as a system message popped onto my screen.
[Main Scenario #3 – Emergency Defense has ended.]
[You have obtained 1,000 coins as compensation.]
[The fourth main scenario will begin in 10 minutes!]
10 minutes..? What were we, robots? The scenario had just ended. We'll have to get ready for the next scenario, I didn't know what it would be so we had to be ready and alert. I shook Leo who was sleeping like a baby. The best manpower you could find is dire in these scenarios.
There was an electric current in the air and the dokkaebi appeared. Everyone sighed, wherever a dokkaebi was, there was always destruction and calamity.
[Greetings to all! I hope you enjoyed the scenario, it was one of my favourites so far. But of course I came because of the announcement for the fourth scenario.]
A low murmur could be heard.
[The fourth main scenario has to do with the other stations. A fairly exciting story is waiting for you. I'm sure you will be satisfied!]
[By the way, in order to proceed with this scenario, you have to perform another task first. Won't it be a mess if the number of people increases? Therefore, you need a presence to lead you. In other words, there must be a station representative!]
Station representative..? What good would that do with a number of people? Unless...
[From now on, we will play a 'skirmish'. It could be called a warm-up game. The rules of the game… well, you will see!]
The dokkaebi smiled and disappeared, while a message window popped up in front of everyone.
[The sub scenario has arrived!]
[Sub Scenario – Elect a Representative]
Category: Sub
Difficulty: C
Clear Conditions: Take the 'white flag' installed in the center of the platform.
Time Limit: 30 minutes
Compensation: 1,000 coins, Ujiron's representative.
Failure: ―
* The representative of the station can exercise strong control over the members.
As soon as the message popped up, I saw Atticus speed over like light. He quickly made his way to the white flag and snatched it up. I was surprised how quick he slipped from our grasp but I also moved quickly. I had to get that flag.
['Atticus Aran' has occupied the white flag.]
[If the white flag doesn't change owners in the next five minutes, Ujiron will be under his control.]
[If the flag is snatched in the next five minutes, the timer will reset.]
Atticus' former goons went and surrounded him, I can't believe such people were really that loyal to him. Was it just voice manipulation? Atticus then pointed to me, laughing hysterically.
"You see this Aksel?! Do you really think you can best me!? I played you, I played you right until-"
Atticus suddenly stopped speaking and he slowly stared down to his chest. It wasn't there before, but blood suddenly starting expanding and staining his shirt. He turned around...
"You-... How dare you..."
Atticus suddenly collapsed on the ground and someone else picked up the flag.
['Sawyer Irvin' has occupied the white flag.]
Sawyer? I gazed in shock at the scene. Now that I remember it, it was Sawyer who whispered into Atticus' ear, but why did he betray him?
[The Constellation 'Ides of March' is giggling.]
Dammit, so that was his sponsor?
"I played you until the end, Atticus!"
Atticus, with his pale face, slowly gazed around at his former goons.
"W-what are you doing! Help me! Kill him!"
It seems Atticus was too tired and depleted of his magic power, because none of them listened to him. What a plot twist this was.
"Defend me! Quickly!"
Sawyer moved back and the goons stepped forward with metal pipes and knives. People gathered together and came charging together but couldn't break the shield that formed.
The timer kept ticking.
[2:30]
It was time to make a move. Shortly after, a loud buzzing sound was heard and making its way inside the station. The horde of bees swarmed the station and consumed the goons.
"What the hell is this?!"
The goons flailed the arms about and ultimately dropped to the ground because of the bee stingers. Sawyer also fell to the ground as well unconscious. I used this moment and jumped on top of the pile of goons and grabbed the white flag.
[You have pulled the white flag from the flagpole.]
[You have become the 'representative' of Ujiron.]
[You are qualified to walk the 'King's Road'.]
I watched as Leo ran over with the little boy on his back. He looked over to me and spoke,
"I hoped that helped, Aksel."
Helped? What does he-. Oh, I understood. This little boy controlled the bees and paved a path for me. I chuckled to myself and patted his head.
"You did great kid, get some rest."
For the first time, he smiled at me and then fainted. Well then, should we get to business? I unsheathed my knife and pointed at remaining people who wanted to take the white flag.
"Come at me if you dare."

Child of Dusk
Life can be cruel, especially to those who don't fit in. But what would you do if you were given a second chance? Tim was a nobody during his time on Earth. As a penniless orphan with no friends to speak of, life was tough for him in his little Arizona town in the '90s. He'd utterly lost hope for the future until one day, he was reincarnated as Alvanue, beloved daughter and heir to the Starlit Throne of Silthonduen. Now, Alvanue has everything a princess could ever want: a loving family, loyal comrades and an entire kingdom at her finger tips. But what good is a kingdom when there's a whole world of magic and mystery out there to explore? *** Ok! Disclaimer time. I do edit my own work and I do not have a beta reader, so please feel free to point out any errors or plot holes (politely, of course). Each chapter will be around 4,000 to 6,000 words long and while I was posting every day at the beginning, I think I'll cut that down to once a week for now, excluding bonus chapters! I really don't want to get burned out. I started writing this because I love world building, so this is gonna be heavy on lore. If you're not into that, there's still a ton of character progression and action to look forward to! It's going to be slow at the beginning, but I promise it will pick up eventually. Thanks for checking my story out, I appreciate it a lot!

The Fall
Perhaps the most well known of all devils, demons, or fallen angels is the one known as Lucifer, Satan, the Father of Lies. The cultural influence of this figure throughout history is by no means small. Despite that, it wasn’t until the time of Milton’s classic – Paradise Lost – that we saw an attempt to portray a dramatized version of the events leading to this figure’s fall from grace and power. And while this is the case, Paradise Lost is not about Lucifer – though it goes into great detail about his potential musings. No, Paradise Lost was, and still is, about the fall of mankind. So, in light of this, and the feeling that the classical story deserved another telling, I present to you all The Fall – a story focused particularly on Lucifer’s fall from grace and his musings both before and after.

To Blunt The Sharpest Claw
The Velvet Paw of Asquith Novels are a series of New Fable genre novels that involve cats and dogs and high adventure and romance and espionage and food-fights and hotels and explosions and car chases. With large casts, exotic locations and an absurdity only possible in the absence of human characters, the Velvet Paw of Asquith Novels blend Wind in the Willows with James Bond, though with more cafes and fewer badgers. This submission is the third title in its Morigan Trilogy, beginning two-thirds of the way through the series' longest adventure yet. Here's a quick recount of what's happened so far: When Oscar Teabag-Dooven, a Velvet Paw of Asquith, is ordered to investigate how a mysterious poet, the Ar'dath-Irr, is able to travel instantaneously around the world, two very bad things happen. Firstly, he meets Lydia, an insane librarian who punches everyone in the face, and secondly, the Ar'dath-Irr reveals he is intent on taking over the world. Although this second thing might be considered worse than the first, Oscar feels differently following Lydia’s destruction of a cafe, a library and his face in one afternoon. In comparison, thwarting world domination just seems easier. Along with Binklemitre, a fellow Velvet Paw of Asquith, and Lydia, Oscar infiltrates the Ar’dath-Irr’s realm of dark poetry to discover the dog not only intends wrenching the world apart but has no intention of cleaning up afterwards. As a result, Oscar decides it’s all too hard and goes home to have a bath. After lots of arguing and the sort of food fight that posh restaurants were invented for, Lydia and Binklemitre convince him that they must stop the Ar’dath-Irr for several reasons, one of them quite serious. A vibrant cast of characters collide as Oscar, Lydia and Binklemitre battle the Ar’dath-Irr and his disciples in an adventure involving exploding cafés and appalling hotels, car chases and inadvertent surgery, dreadful poetry, lots of arguments and at least one temper-tantrum, all of which draw the three into dark and convoluted corners of a world they weren’t aware existed. Moreover, any chance of sitting down and discussing things over some buns disappears when Lydia punches the Ar’dath-Irr in the face. This results in her having a psychotic episode and Oscar getting run over by an ambulance. Although Binklemitre suffers neither, he witnesses both, which is almost as dreadful, though not nearly so messy. An enormous battle ensues, followed by a dinner party and then everything explodes.
