“Sneak out” he said Why did I listen to him? He was already there, kissing some other girl, the way he had kissed me earlier. Why did I think I was so special? And now I’ve got to walk home, I can’t call my mom at this hour, she thinks I’m asleep in bed. I wish I had brought an umbrella, my feet are soaked, my shoes are ruined and a car just drove past and splashed me.
Every time I hear a creak, I think a tree is getting ready to fall on me, it’d be my luck. My dress is so soaked, I don’t have to worry about the wind blowing my skirt up, there’s no one out at this hour to see anyway. What was I thinking sneaking out? I’m not that kind of girl. If I hadn’t been so stupid, I would under the covers counting the seconds between the flashes of light and the rumble of the sky. I wouldn’t be out here thinking every strike is aimed at me or the tree closest to me.
A car pulls up beside me, I can barely make it out but it looks familiar. A window rolls down, my mom is here. “Come on, Suzie, let’s go home.”
The drive home she asks “Was he worth the trouble you’ve gotten yourself into?”
I hate that she was right about him from the beginning, she told me three weeks ago he was just a player and not to trust him. My silent tears are all the answer she needs.
I get cleaned up and dry. Mom comes into my room, hot tea and toast to help settle me before I sleep.
It’s the middle of the night, “How did you know I had gone?” I ask her as she hands me the warm cup.

“Just call it mother’s intuition, I knew something was off tonight.”
I hug her tight, bury my face in her breasts and sob, “I’m so sorry, I never should have left.”
I feel her embrace, her warmth through my robe. “It’s okay darling, I bet you’re never gonna try sneaking out again after this, are you?”
“No, mom.”
She lets me hold onto her a few minutes more before pulling away.
“Drink your tea, have your toast, then get some sleep. The sun will be shining in the morning.” She said as she stands up to leave my room.
The sun is already starting to shine, I think to myself.

The Infinite Labyrinth
(Story complete - Book 1 "Shanghaied", 2 "Shortcuts", 3 "Secrets" and 4 "Sanctions") It is the 19th century, and war smoulders between England and France. Any hope for a quick end to Napoleon's rampage across Europe ended when the Great Gates opened in 1800. For a fortunate few, the strange world of the Infinite Labyrinth offers opportunities, strange descriptors popping in their minds, informing them of growth, and status beyond that of a mere mortal. The materials and power crystal they bring back foster a new age, both military and civilian. Aether-powered Skyships prowl the skies, as all the great nations blessed by the Gates try to turn the blessings of the Labyrinth into immediate advantages. But for Jonas, an apprentice leatherworker, his friend Ira, and so many Londoners, the fabled ones that walk the Labyrinth are distant heroes, seen from afar. They fell short when their Potential was measured, and they fill their mundane lives with distant dreams. One man wants to break the stalemate. The Tyrant of the Dominion of France, Napoleon Bonaparte, has a plan. Eighteen years after the world changed, he will force it to change again. And when civilians are caught in the fallout, the unthinkable happens. Six people, unqualified, forbidden to ever enter the Labyrinth, find themselves stranded in a distant zone, forcefully turned into Professionals. They know little of what that means, but they have to figure out the rules that are now their lot, for they have little hope to escape their predicament otherwise. They need to understand what the descriptors in their minds mean, what each of the strange piece of gear waiting in treasure chests behind terrible guardians can bring them. They have to become Professionals on their own and rejoin the Empire. They will figure out their new lives one way or another. But will there be an Empire waiting for them when the Gates re-open? Caught in a clash of empires and high tiers, they will do what little they can. They will step up and do their best. One way or another. The Infinite Labyrinth is a slice-of-life litRPG adventure set in a real historical setting. It's a hard, crunchy litrpg. Expect blue boxes everywhere, and the system itself is very mathy. It started life as a serial. I prepared some proper worldbuilding, with enough details and background for lots of different potential story arcs, but as I wrote, I realized the main story needs to have a definitive end. So, there are four books in total, for a bit under 1500 pages, plus additional side stories, and even maybe a sequel one day. The Gore tag was added as a precaution because there are a few scenes with some light gore.
8 179The Lies They Told Me: Short stories from my life
Like many of my peers, I've discovered that life is not quite what I expected it to be. As I age, I've begun to find that many of the sayings and truths that my parents, authority figures, and friends have passed on to me were outright lies. Every person I know has been subject to the same interactions, which got me thinking, why not write a compilation of stores about my life experiences to date. I hope that this book will help all of us come to terms with the realities that we face today or deal with some of our deepest feelings about the past. Maybe these people lied to us and maybe they honestly believed the myriad of things they told us, but either way I think we can have a good laugh looking back and remembering the first times that we realized these things weren't true. I also hope that you can look back at the lies, or life lessons, that you've learned and can be inspried to own your stories and share them with others in a genuine way. Wiithout further ado, I hope that you enjoy the many short stories of my life that made me who I am today. These stories range from funny to down right surrel, so good luck on your journey!

8 85Grand Defender
New chapter every two days or so A story of bite-sized chapters that follows the life of a Defender, a soul summoned to defend the ancient lands. Our protagonist faces harsh challenges as they get summoned to an unpopulated land with nothing to their name, not even their own name, as it was stolen by the System, and fight against the never-ending problems that surrounds them, such as climate, monsters, and loneliness! This is my first, ever, story. Any criticism will be delightfully accepted. Also, the main protagonist will be given neither gender nor appearance. You can Imagine them as you prefer.
