The duo had been walking for several hours before the sky got dark the wolf woman that Luke had been following till now called for rest on the side of the dirt road they had been following.

"Thank God i thought we're gonna have to walk longer"

said Luke to nobody in particular as he sits on a rock in front of the small bonfire. The wolf lady who is currently pulling out pieces of dried meat just looked at him confused

As if this man couldn't be any weirder he started speaking languange that she never heard of as he sat down Although she was pleasantly surprised the man finnaly talked he hadn't Made any noise other than grunts until now.

'ok not mute just unneccesarily silent' sure she can't understand him even if he spoke but still.

Both of Them shared pieces of dried meat and berries Vina took another look at the man currently sitting in front of her to try and identify his species, she yet again embraced how strange he is he looked like every species ever except there is enough difference that Made him completely different from every single species almost like a blank canvas she thought Make him shorter and give him a beard and you got a dwarf,give him fur and a tail and you got beastmen she was thinking of this when the man Made that clicking noise with his fingers again to get her attention he pointed to himself and said "Luke" she immediately got the gist and pointed to herself

'vina' he repeated in his mind, beautiful name he thought althought he did mistake her saying vines at first. The wolf lady had rolled down a bed while he was contemplating she looked up at him looking concerned as she realized there is only one bedroll 'guess i'll be sleeping the ground then' he started to remember some survival tips he had seen on a tv show and started collecting long sticks and a bunch of leaves the woman just stared at him in confusion.

Luke constructed a simple "bed" on the ground as he heard an 'oh' behind him he ignored it and went to sleep, Vina doing the same thing albeit with a couple of guilty looks at his direction.

They both woke up at dawn at the sound of bushes rustling and branch snapping Vina jumped up and unsheated her dagger, Luke got up too and took a sizeable rock and a Sharp looking stick and they looked at the direction of the sound.

out of the shadow a spider the size of a big dog jumped out, Luke arachnophobia or perhaps instinct kicked in and threw the rock at the spider it hit the spider and left a wound leaking purple blood, This in turn pisses the spider off and it jumped towards him he was about to run screaming when the spider took something to it's side and dropped dead, he turned to look at his furred savior with her bow in hand, he was about to say thanks when suddenly hissing sounds can be heard around Them.

Vina gave her dagger to Luke and they leaned to each others back looking for another one to jump out, Luke looked like he's going to crap himself which is understandable, no one wants to fight a pack of Hunter spider in relative darkness.

Another one jumped out of a tree and she dispatched it quickly with her bow while Luke killed one with apparent disgust and an audible Scream behind her the hissing sound that is ever present slowly subsided as they kill Them one by one after about what feels like eternity the pack of spider retreated and Vina looked around at the mess, Purple blood everywhere with spider bits here and there and a frightened Luke hugging a dagger in the middle of it all she approached him and tried to console him, the poor man jumped a good meter upwards when he felt her touch, He gave her the dagger back after a few minutes of staring into the distance

"Giant fucking spiders! I don't wanna be here anymore..."

Although Vina can't understand him she knew fear when she sees or in this case heard one, she gestured for him to keep walking which he happily obliged judging from his quick steps

They walked the entire day with breaks here and there to eat lunch and rest it was about to be dark again when they spotted the gate to the town.

Luke who looked tired suddenly got energy again and looked happy then quickly changed to worry he looked at her and started hand signing a house and shrugged his shoulders 'oh yeah right he doesn't have a place to stay and he can't understand anyone' she gestured him to be with her for now he just nodded.

They just crossed the gate when Vina heard a call directed at Them from behind her, she looked back to see a cat beastmen guard approach Them

"Ehm state your identity,species and what you want to do in the town and for how long please"

she can tell the guard has done this multiple Times today which is just hinting at how many refugees came to this town

"Vina,beastmen, i'm here as a refugee from the eastern village uhh.. this one is Luke i don't know his species and he doesn't understand common i just find him on the road confused" she lied a bit there

"Mm i see.. well are you atleast accompanying him?"

"Yes he doesn't have a place to stay so i'm with him for now"

"Excellent thank you citizen and keep an eye on your companion"

Luke is just standing there confused as the guard and Vina conversed about something, he caught a look directed at him 'probably talking about me haven't exactly seen any human so far the guard probably don't know what i am' Vina tugged his arm and gestured to keep walking, the streets of this town is bustling with activity he can see multiple species mostly beastmen but he saw others as well. lizard people which he wasn't sure count as beastmen, orcs and even some dwarfs.

Overall pretty standard he thought that is until he saw what looked like dragon people not lizard but honest to God dragon with wings and rock hard looking scales towering above the crowd except this Time they are sapient and wear clothes buying items like the rest he was pretty sure one of Them burped fire while conversing with a salesmen

After a couple minutes of searching and asking people we finally arrives at an inn that is relatively cheap, the building is basically a wooden shack with a second floor, how the hell does does it hold up having a second floor while entirely Made of Wood he doesn't know, all he is thinking about right now is rest, they got in and Vina talked with the owner and gave the bird headed beastmen 5 coins Made of copper, the beastmen just pointed to the stairs leading to second floor, they got up the noisy stairway and settled on the room.

he had expected her to order two rooms but apparently they're sleeping together tonight, which is something he feared because knowing himself he really likes to move on his sleep 'what if i moved and accidentaly grab her or something? It's bad enough not being communicate, being accused a pervert without the ability to talk back is worse' he elected to sleep on a wooden chair across the bed, Vina gestured him to go to bed but he declined and she just gave him a quizzical look, they both soon fell asleep

If there is one thing that Luke expect when he wakes up it was not the sight of Vina curled up in bed, not your human style but the kind of style you'll find on a dog looking like a ball of fur on the bed 'so she had her own sleeping habits too, thank God i slept on the chair' although he had to admit she looked cute on that position, he tried to woke her up to ask her where he can maybe find a toilet which proofed to be a challenge she was on a comfy position and is hardly moving an inch on every poke he gave up and goes out on his own.

Downstairs he found the bird man sleeping on his chair on the counter with a mug covering his beak, he woke him up and the guy looked like he woke up from a nightmare stumbling out of his chair, once he calmed down the bird guy looked at him in confusion (the mug is still on his beak by the way) Luke hand signed or at least try to hand sign a bathroom or an out house, the man to his surprise just gestured to a door behind him, Luke nodded his thanks and went for it.

he came out to the sight of Vina just seating on one of the waiting chairs outside and she had that impatient look on her, she noticed him and waved him to follow and he obliged, walking outside they kept on walking for a while passing random store and houses, they stopped a couple of Times asking people and finally arrived at a store with a sign containing a carved image of a bottle on it.

Vina woke up from her sleep to a chair with a notable lack of Luke on it which is less than ideal as she had a plan on how to talk with him, she went downstairs and asked the owner where he went and for some reason he had a mug stuck to his face he just informed her he went to the toilet, normally this is not an issue, the issue is that he went in 10 minutes ago.

20 minutes went by and just when she considered breaking down the door and just drag him when the man walked out looking casual as if he didn't just spent 30 minutes doing God knows what in a toilet, with a sigh she gestured him to follow which leads where they are now inside a potion shop, she talked with the shopkeeper asking for a transla-potion

"that would be 1 silver these potions are getting rarer around here"

she internally cringed, she only had 10 silver and a couple dozen copper, after a bit of debate and a bite threat they settled on a price of 75 copper 'this better be worth it' as she eyed Luke who is currently marveling at the collection of potions before him, she dragged him out into alleyway and handed him the off white potion, he looked confused for a second before understanding and downed the entire bottle, he gagged after doing it. she did heard that this potion tasted like dirt so she can understand

"ah God what the hell was that? are you trying to poison me?"

"No idiot that was a translation potion"

He stopped his coughing and stared at her seemingly realizing he can understand her now

"Wait i can understand you now"

she just facepawed "well yes don't you hear what i said? Don't answer that. now would you tell me what are you? And where you come from?"

"Oh oh yeah uhh what i am is easy enough back home we're called human"

"Never heard that before are you sure?"

"Of course i am! As for where i was from... Well that would be tricky"

"What is so tricky about telling me where you live?"

"Okay it's gonna sound hard to believe but just listen and i'm let you know everything i said is true ok?"

She just nodded

By the gods what has possesed this man first he rambled about not coming from this world and then he started rambling about a light of God or something granting his wish to travel worlds

"so let's just say i believe your story..." She was cut off

"it's not a story it's true i don't know how to explain it properly i... Why are you looking at me like i'm a madman?"

"BECAUSE YOUR STORY SOUNDS LIKE A RAMBLING OF A MADMAN! AND YOU HAVE NO PROOF FOR IT!"

"......."

"and i just spend 75 copper on you and that's all i hear? we never see your species around here and the guards are breathing up my back for bringing an unknown man of an unknown species and allegation to the city!"

She paused to take a breath, her long rant had the man quiet with a bewildered look on his face, she just stared at him and turned around after a moment

"huh you know what? Maybe it isn't worth it to.." she was cut off yet again by a a hand dragging her this time

Luke was stunned by the wall of a rant just thrown his way, he thought for awhile guessed she is right, even people back on earth would've thought he was high on drugs or something, so he being the simple man he was switched from audio to visual in proving his point he pulled her from behind to show her his phone l, she protested but stopped the moment she Saw the light of the phone on her face

"Wait isn't this.."

"Yes and inside it contain the proof you need here let me just access the gallery and show you"

More curious than mad she leaned in to see what he is doing a moment later he shoved the glowing slab to he face, there she Saw something incredible a picture with the highest quality she has ever seen of the man standing in front of Giant buildings that clawed at the sky and what looked like metal carriages, then the man tapped the picture and it moved.
