《Lost In the Void. (Monster Evolution LitRpg)》Chapter 1. Lost In Darkness

There was nothing, nothing at all. Where Am I.
I have no idea how long I have been here, but it feels like I have existed here for a very long time. I grow weaker and weaker as the time continues. All I feel is like I am floating in the sea with something pulling down towards the depths. I don't know how long my soul will last in this place, I don't remember who or what I was. It hurts, something feels like it's missing.

“Here it is”??? The Being of pure light said, as it looked at a blackened crystal ball. Looking into the crystallized seal of darkness. “I warned you that the war would never end. You were such an idiot, thinking that you would save everyone. It brings me great pleasure to finally get rid of you.” Light said. The being of light held up a small fragment of light. “When you were alive, we took a piece of your soul. Even our lord said to keep you from gaining power once again, to destroy this part of you so that you may never rise.” Light said. Holding the fragment between the fingers of light, it raised it over a small creature of pure darkness that was locked inside a box covered in seals. “I truly did warn you. My love, but never would you listen to reason, even when our lord told you to stop this foolish path of yours. So this is my final goodbye to you. What is left you with be thrown into the void for the abominations to eat.” Light said.
The sliver of soul fell to into the maw of the small. And a tear in reality opened as the crystal ball of darkness was thrown into the tear.

Pain struck me as I floated there in the darkness. A hole appeared in my light. The dim light of what was left of me had dimmed even more as a pitch black hole was left in the center of the weakened dim light.
Darkness keeps seeping into the hole, eating away at what little light remains.

Tendrils of magic stretched out and caught the small ball of crystalline darkness as it entered into her domain. “Why are you here, little one made of light but broken. I always wanted a child of light, though it is a shame that your soul has been fractured. Because of that, you will die soon.” Mother said. The ball shattered by the pure power that radiated off of her just by her mere presence.
“I may be able to save you, but you will suffer for a very long time because no creature of light has ever lived in the Void without dying. Any monster born here will hunt you and chase after you, trying to snuff out the light that is left within you. So I'll ask you little one, do you wish to live with the chance that someday you will be strong enough to live without fear. Or would you want me to send for the reaper to come and collect that which is already on death's door.” Mother said. She looked down on my broken soul with her warm, compassion filled eyes. Waiting for me to answer her.
I tried to speak or say anything at all, but no words came out. I didn't want to die I want to live, I want to survive. Seeing something within my soul, the beautiful women in front of me seemed to understand what I wanted to say to her.

“I see little light. So you wish to live. I shall give you a small piece of myself to heal the damaged part of your soul. With this you will be changed.” Mother said. She cut a bit of her hair and started to fix what was done to me and sealed it with a drop of her blood which was a deep midnight blue with purple streaks through it. “With this I have made you one of my children, bound by blood but not birth. You will meet many of my children here in the void, you will have to kill or be killed. I love all of my children, but if one dies, it just means that they weren't strong enough to survive. I hope you live long enough to meet me again. Not only that, but I will give you a name when you are a tier 4. Rest now because I will be seeding you to a safe place where you can evolve into a new from which with help you. Goodbye my son and always know that I am always watching.” Mother said. Giving me a kiss, she let me fall from her hand.
As I fell, everything slowly faded away as a deep sleep took me in its embrace.

Choose your race.
1- Fallen light wisp. A fallen wisp that was once one with the Light. Magic and speed is the strength of this race. Run and fire magic at foes from a great distance away to stay safe. INT and AGI get bonuses when leveling up.
2-Fractured Light Newborn. A soul saved by the Mother but forever changed by the damage done to his soul. Not accepting the power of the Mother, but still living with her grace. You use magic and your presence to ease those around you or destroy anything that that may try to harm you. INT and CHS get bonuses from leveling.
3- Newborn Void Light. Giving new life from the Mother when she saved the soul of a once powerful organism of Light. You have accepted the bond Mother gave you through her blood and became one of her children. Use physical and magical prowess to hunt and gain power through the death of your enemies. STR and INT get bonuses from leveling.
Choosing one of these will forever lose the chance to evolve into one of the other choices on this list. So pick wisely, for your actions hove consequences on how the rest of your new life plays out. And know that Mother will always love you.

Leftover Apocalypse
[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] This is a story about the newly-adult Calliope Smith having a terrible day that ends in her getting mysteriously teleported from Phoenix, Arizona to a fantasy world where her life is in constant danger. She considers this an upgrade. Someone evil is looking for her, and she doesn't know why. Someone who seems to know a lot about her has promised they'll help her, but she doesn't know who they are. All that matters to Callie is that magic is real and one way or another she's going to learn it. The end of the world is coming up, sure, but Callie won't need to worry about that. In fact, by the time she even finds out about it one of the doomsday devices will already be destroyed, and the authorities will be well on the way to dealing with the other one. It's fine. Everything will be smooth sailing. Almost certainly. Probably. Chapters are usually about 2500-3500 words, and the goal is to post 2-3 per week but I sometimes get busy or have some writers block. It's your standard portal fantasy / Isekai premise, but unlike some the main character's time on Earth and how she got pulled into another world will (eventually) be explored. Some slight GameLit-feeling stuff later, no menus or level-ups but there's something suspiciously like a skill tree when the magic system gets going. No number crunching, and while the main character will get to do some silly stuff she won't be a god like in some fics (and will in fact spend a lot of time being badly outclassed by her enemies). Some reader interaction, ranging from adding to the worldbuilding to occasionally making big important decisions about skill progression. Please note that the main character is flawed and impulsive, and will make some stupid decisions. That's part of the story, but I get that it's not for everyone. Trigger Warnings: Foster care system references, crappy parenting. Some mental health adjacent stuff, specifically the main character has some issues where she experiences varying levels of empathy and emotional vulnerability depending on the day (it's complicated and not meant to portray any real-world conditions). Occasional violence including mention of death and grievous bodily harm, but no detailed descriptions of gore.

The Storytellers
Myra Kahani lives in a world of gods and prayers. People around her constantly reach out to the gods for advice and suggestions at critical times in their life. But Myra has a problem. No matter what she does, she can't talk to the gods. When Myra meets Roam, an old, enigmatic Storyteller, she finally gets some answers. She learns of the origins of the Universe, the divide between mankind and their deities, and the important role that Storytellers play in her world. But the truth for Myra is just the beginning of her story. The Storytellers is a story that I began to develop from a series of shorter stories that I wrote for a mythology and folklore class. As such, they have a strong basis in the myths and folklore of various cultures and religions. Join me as I try my best to integrate these stories into my own and develop the world of the Storytellers and Myra herself. This is my first attempt at any sort of longer-form fiction so helpful advice is greatly appreciated!
