Anna screamed, “Justin!” as she and Vincent watch the Mantaraia and Leomightas go up in a ball of flame. Vincent was shocked by Justin’s action, “That guy. He sacrificed himself just to destroy that frame. He actually sacrificed himself just to take down his opponent! Do I have that kind of conviction?” The Sky Raider and Nike exit the colony just in time to see the explosion. Yolanda was shocked, “They got Mark?!” Bart shook his head, “I don’t think so. But, I’ve had enough of these guys. As long as we destroy them and win this match, we’ll have a clear path to state and nationals.” The Sky Raider fired its cannons and missiles.

The alert signal woke Vincent up from his shock and stupor and turned in the direction of the incoming attack. He braced himself for the impact. He only suffered minor damage after blocking the shots from the beam cannons with his shield but the sheer amount of missiles flying in his direction left him flabbergasted, “How am I supposed to guard against so many of them?”

Rosenkavalier suddenly appeared between the Jakqoo V and the missiles and blocks the attack with its detached shield. Seeing the explosion, Yolanda cheered, “Yes, we did it.” But her expression stiffened. When the smoke cleared, she could see that the Rosenkavalier was only slightly damaged and had an unfamiliar crossbow aimed at her frame. Using the cover from the smoke caused by the explosion, Anna placed her new large shield on her sword rifle and part of the shield opened up and turned it into a crossbow. “Thank you, Mister Myers. If it weren’t for you, I never would have met him and got this awesome shield.”

Anna aimed the crossbow at Yolanda’s Nike and pulled the trigger, “Eat this!” Energy gathered at the sharp tip of the crossbow and a green beam was shot out. The surprised Yolanda was unable to dodge the attack in time and was hit. However, she had reacted fast enough. Only the lower half of her frame was destroyed in the attack.

Seeing how Anna counterattacked against Yolanda, Vincent decided that it was high time he fought back against Bart and went on the offensive. Vincent tossed his launcher aside and flew towards the Sky Raider with his two beam axes. He raised them high and intended to bring them down on the frame, but the Sky Raider easily caught the Jakqoo’s arms. Bart angrily stared at the frame it was holding back, “I told you. That’s not going to work, no matter how many times you try it.” When the Sky Raider grabbed the Jakqoo ‘s arms, Vincent sneered, “I know. But now, you’re wide open!” The Gatling gun aimed at the Sky Raider and unleashed a hail of bullets, while the missile pods attached to the legs fired. The Sky Raider took the full brunt of the attack.

Seeing how he fell for Vincent’s trap, Bart could not help but let out a smile, “You’re learning. I can’t believe I let you bait me into that. But, I’m still not out yet.” Bart then called out to Yolanda, whose screens showed that it was in the red, “Yolanda, can you still fight?” Yolanda ignored the caution signs and inspected her frame, “I’m not giving up yet. My upper body can still move.”

Bart also had his frame’s upper torso damaged after the confrontation with Vincent. He inputted the command and transformed it back into its bird mode and detached the damaged upper body. “That’s what I wanted to hear. I’m so glad I added this function just before today’s matches.” The lower body of the Sky Raider was still active and flew towards the Nike and combined with it, making the Nike the upper half of the body and the Sky Raider the lower half. Seeing this scene, everyone in the audience could not help but say, “They Combined!?” and the audience gasped and cheered.

The Nike drew out its two large swords, ready for another round with the Jakqoo V and Rosenkavalier as the lower half of the Sky Raider, carried it with its powerful thrusters. Yolanda screamed, “We’re the ones who’re going to state.” Bart added, “Yeah, we’re far from rolling over. We can still fight!” the counterattack by the duo caught Anna by surprise and Nike’s swords cleaved the Rosenkavalier’s body in two before the frame exploded in brilliant flames. Vincent shouted, “Anna!”

After destroying the Rosenkavalier, Yolanda and Bart targeted the nearby Jakqoo V, “You’re next!” said the pair. When the Nike slashed at the Jakqoo with its two beam swords, Vincent clashed with the weapons with his two beam axes. He was able to block the attack just before he was literally sucker punched by the Sky Raider’s talon hands. The sneak attack sent him back away quite a distance.

“At this rate, I’m not going to last much longer.” As Vincent regained his balance, he was alerted to the incoming barrage of missiles from the two combined frames. “It’s over! Now, you’re finished!” declared Bart as the missiles approached, Vincent received a call from both Anna and Justin, but both of them were covered with static, so he was not able to make out what they were trying to say. “Vin…cent!” “V…cent!” Just when Vincent was ready for his impending destruction, when a fast-moving object flew in his direction from behind and he was suddenly pulled out of the way of the attack by a flying object. Vincent checked on his rearview camera and saw that the manta ray had flown him out of the path of the missiles to safety.

“WHAT!” Bart and Yolanda both exclaimed. After being pulled by the manta ray to safety, Vincent swung the Jakqoo and it was now riding atop the Mantaraia’s manta ray. “Thanks, Justin. You saved my butt back there.” Inside his cockpit, which was flashing red, Justin looked at the screen, “GO, Vincent!” Anna then contacted Vincent after communications had cleared up a bit, “Vincent, use my shield. It still has some juice left.” Vincent controlled the manta ray and flew towards the Rosenkavalier’s photon shield and placed it on the Jakqoo’s back. Upon retrieving the shield, Vincent commanded the manta ray to fly towards the Sky Raider and Nike. Seeing this scene, Bart glared, “Why won’t you just give up?” and unleashed another barrage of missiles. Vincent panted, as he flew for another confrontation with the pair, “Because we can still go on. Because we can still fight!”

The spike and shield from the shoulders detached and attached to the Jakqoo’s hands like gloves. “Let’s go, Jakqoo V! Justin, Anna, Frank, and I. We’re all going to win this together!” Seeing the Jakqoo coming at them, Bart could not help but comment, “Is he going for a kamikaze attack!?" The photon shield glowed a shade of green and the Jakqoo began punching out as the two frames flew closer to each other when the mechanical voice spoke “Critical Assault: Gatling Barrage!”

Witnessing the green glow, Maya could not help but say, “They look like tiny meteors.” The Jakqoo V unleashed a barrage of green fist-sized spheres at the Nike and Sky Raider combination. The attack destroyed all the missiles that flew towards the Jakqoo. When they got close enough, the two frames were unable to retaliate as they were bombarded by the fist-sized meteors. It did not take long for the two combined frames to sustain enough damage before they exploded. Yolanda could not help but say, “We were so close.” Just before the combined frames exploded in a beautiful ball of flames.
