《W.A.R.F.R.A.M.E.》Chapter Thirty Four: Team Training Part 2

After splitting up, Anna and Justin went down the path on the right. They trudged through several feet of snow before encountering resistance. Several enemy units appeared in blue lights and began firing upon them. Rosenkavalier and Mantaraia took cover behind some rock and returned fire. Taking cover behind the rocks, Justin told Anna, “I’m going to fly up and take them from above. While they’re distracted, you take them down.”
Before Anna could argue about the plan, Justin had already flown into the air. “Justin, wait…” Anna mumbled before reluctantly going along with the plan. “You can’t fly in this weather.” The Mantaraia flew on its manta ray and fired torpedoes, beam cannons, and beam machinegun. He was able to easily dispatch several of the enemy units that were blocking their way before the wind picked up speed and the blizzard intensified. The snowstorm caused Justin to lose balance and altitude making him crash into a pile of snow.
When he fell, he crashed into the enemy-occupied area, causing him to be surrounded. He was shot a few times from their beams and received significant damage. Just as they were about to finish him off, the enemy units came under attack. Four blades flew across the air and danced around them. The four blades made short work of the seven enemy units. Just when Justin was about to ask what happened Rosenkavalier appeared. The four blades returned to the Rosenkavalier and reattached to the large shield on its shoulder.
Anna held her hand out, “You okay?” she asked. Justin took her hand and Anna pulled him up. “I’ve experienced worst”, he said. The two of them continued down the path and Justin asks, “So, why did I crash earlier? This blizzard shouldn’t have bothered me, but after I was up there for a while, and the storm suddenly picked up.” Anna asks, “You’ve never played on this battlefield have you?” Justin was not too embarrassed to admit it and shook his head. Anna goes on to explain, “On this battlefield, you can’t fly. The moment you do, the storm intensifies and causes you to crash. That’s how this battlefield was designed. You don’t have a choice other than taking the ground approach. This also happens to be one of Frank’s favorite battlefields.”

As the duo continued to hover and dash down the path, they come upon a ridge. The snowstorm intensified as the winds blew even harder. Looking at the ridge, Anna gave Justin some tips, “Okay, here is where things get a little challenging. We are going to face quite a bit of resistance but nothing we can’t handle. The real problem lies elsewhere.” Justin asks, “What do you mean?” Anna answers him, “The moment we step foot on that ridge, we’ll be bombarded by enemy attacks and this violent storm. If you stay near the edge, you’ll be whisked away by the storm along with the enemy units. Once you’re out in the open, there’s no coming back here. It’ll be over for you and I’ll have to continue on, alone. Do you understand what I’m saying?” Justin nods, “Yup, stay away from the edge.” Anna then goes on to say, “And don’t get dragged or be baited to the edge. It feels like I’m forgetting something though.” Anna tries to recall, and Justin interrupts her train of thought, “What are you forgetting?” Anna racks her brain, “I’m not sure, but it feels important. Whatever it is, I’ll remember it eventually.” Anna brushes the matter off as she and Justin walk onto the ridge.
The moment they stepped foot onto the ridge, several enemy units appeared and started firing on them. With no place to take cover, the two of them moved around to avoid enemy fire while counterattacking with their own beam rifles and beam machineguns. “This is getting annoying”, said Anna, and the large shield on her right shoulder detached and flew in front of her. It protected her from the incoming enemy fire, “Justin get behind me, then launch your friend into the enemy lines.” The large shield absorbed all the beams that were fired upon it and Justin launched his manta ray. It fired its two beam cannons and torpedoes and took out the units that were blocking Justin and Anna’s way forward.

After mowing down the enemy units, the manta ray returned to the frame. They were able to push forward until the halfway point when they heard the roaring of thrusters. That was when they saw it. A large Warframe. It had a large build with four large arms on its torso and a dragon head over its shoulders. Instead of legs, it had a very long and stalky tail. The dragon roared when it saw Justin and Anna's frames. After seeing the large frame, Anna contacted Justin, “Justin, I just remembered what I forgot earlier.” Justin commented, “A dragon. That’s what you forgot.” Anna added, “Yeah, that. And the fact that the boss for this stage is our dragon friend here. He harasses any player that climbs up the mountain.”
The dragon had a rifle in each of the two lower arms and fired beams from them. Anna blocks the attack with her shield, but the attack was so intense that both Rosenkavalier and Mantaraia who was behind her were pushed against the wall of the mountain. The dragon roared and fire the missiles on its back high above Anna and Justin's frames and hit the top of the snow-capped mountain. More enemy units showed up and bombarded the two pilots with attacks until they heard a loud rumbling. Justin looked upwards and saw something that terrified him. Vast amounts of snow was sliding down the top of the mountain headed their way. Justin yelled out, “AVALANCHE!”
Seeing this scene, the large dragon frame flew up towards the top of the mountain. As the snow continued to rush down, Anna gave Justin an order, “Follow my lead.” Anna led Justin to a nearby crevice and pushed him inside. Before he was pushed inside, Justin had the manta ray detach itself from the Mantaraia's back and used it as a shield, following Anna’s lead. They both got into the crevice and positioned the shield and manta ray to protect them from the snow.
Inside the cave, Frank, and Vincent came upon a vast cavern that awaited them. After traveling deeper into the cavern, several blue lights appeared all around them followed by the arrival of enemy units. The enemy frames fired on them upon arrival. Vincent flew into the air and fired the rockets from his mega launcher at a nearby cluster of enemy units. The resulting explosion separated them before he dispatched them with the beam shooter on his mega launcher.
One of the enemy units leaped into the air with a sword in hand. Vincent scoffs and fired his Gatling gun at the unsuspecting frame. It blew up after falling onto the icy cavern floor. Frank, on the other hand, leaped into the air and did a backflip to dodge the enemy attacks, before launching his two bits. The two bits flew around the area and fired missiles and beams, making quick work of the enemy units.
Just after they defeated the last of the enemy units, Vincent and Frank felt the ground beneath them shake. The stalactites that hung above them on the ceiling of the cavern, fell one by one. Frank and Vincent darted around the cavern to avoid the falling spikes as well as several large pieces of ice that came crashing down upon them.

However, my muscles went numb under the warmth of his hands. I couldn't move.I layed there him stroking my hair in shock for what in my head felt like forever. Eventually, he leaned down and spoke into my ear making my whole body shiver."My dear, I have waited for this moment for years," his voice was beautiful, strong and warm. Like the wind on a summer day. He had humor in his eyes and I found it extremely unsettling. There was something off about his tone. Almost like I was dreaming, but I knew it wasn't one. Something powerful and dangerous was in his voice... Ohhh no! This wasn't some random mortal standing over me.
