《W.A.R.F.R.A.M.E.》Chapter eight: Arachne

Danny fired his rifle and shoulder-mounted cannons but it mostly missed. Anna was able to use her terrain to her advantage. But just as she thought she was in the clear, she took damage. She had been hit almost everywhere. “A scattered shot. Where did that come from?” Part of the three screens turned red.
Anna zoomed in to see Justin with his bazooka and it was aimed at her. Anna was about to panic as she was caught between Danny and Justin. “Now Justin, let’s finish her off,” Danny said excitedly. But just as Justin was about to fire off another shot, he moved. He had been alerted by the system of impending danger when part of his screen kept flashing red and alarms went off.
Vincent dashed across the battlefield, staying out of sight for a sneak attack. He moved unimpeded and made his way to Justin’s location. Once he was finally in range, Vincent revealed himself and fired the Depth Launcher “Gotcha!” However, Justin was able to avoid the attack. The manta ray on Mantaraia’s back was raised and the mounted cannons fired. Justin easily avoids the attack. Vincent smiles with glee, “Ready for round 2?”
Vincent puts the Depth Launcher away and pulls out the spear. He dashes toward Justin and thrust out the spear. Justin blocks the attack with his right hand and got in close to deliver a punch directly on Mantaraia’s face. Vincent stumbled a bit before regaining his footing. He noticed something different about the punch. Vincent then zoomed in on the Cestus’s right hand. “No wonder the punch felt different. He changed the equipment on the hand.” Instead of holding the stirrup knuckle on Cestus’s hand, it had a sort of large semi-circle hammer on the knuckle with a piece of metal jutting out of the back of the knuckle.
Anna changed her weapon slot and activated her sub-weapons. The indicator moved to the slot labelled ‘Rose Bit’. The blue roses on her shoulders detached and flew. They began firing beams on Danny’s frame. Danny was having a hard time fending off attacks that were coming from three directions. “Justin, I need some support over here.” Justin aimed his bazooka at Anna, but before he got a chance to pull the trigger, Vincent charges in with his spear. Justin had no choice but to halt his attack in order to avoid the spear. Vincent raises his spear, “Where are you looking at? I’m your opponent. And I’m going to dish out some payback.”

The manta ray raised and fired the torpedoes on its fins. Justin backed away from Vincent and used one of the weapons on his backpack. The barrels of the minigun started to rotate at high speed. Bullets came flying out of the minigun at high speeds with great intensity. The miniguns were able to destroy most of the torpedoes. But one of them made it through and connected. The left shoulder was hit.
Sparks wriggled around the damaged shoulder. After suffering damage to the shoulder, Justin checked on the condition of the arm but found it harder to move the left arm. Justin contacts Vincent. “You got me pretty good, newb. But it’s far from enough to take me down. Oh and, give me back my FRAME!” Justin shouted the last part in order to remind Vincent to return Mantaraia back to its owner.
Anna and Danny both fired on each other with neither of them giving the other room to breathe. Anna mutters to herself, “Everything’s going according to plan so far. I’ll take care of Danny while Vincent holds off Justin.” Danny sneers, “Just give up Anna. It’s just a matter of time before you lose this battle. Your friend over there is no different. I’m confident that Justin will make short work of him once he gets serious.”
Anna argued, “The outcome is yet to be decided, Danny. We still have a chance to make it through this. Besides, I trust Vincent. I know he won’t let me down.” Anna smiled when looked at Vincent through the screen. Seeing this scene, Danny fumed with rage. He puts his rifle away and drew a beam sword. Witnessing this, the rapier in Rosenkavalier’s hand began turning pink as beam energy flowed through the thin blade. Sparks flew as the two swords clashed.
Justin flew backwards to increase the distance between him and Vincent. But his efforts proved pointless as Vincent stayed on him like a rash that you can’t get rid of. Vincent grins, “You can’t fire your bazooka because I’m too close. You’d just get caught in the blast.” Justin turned around and continued to fly backwards, the miniguns began spinning and they fired a hail of bullets on the Mantaraia.
Seeing the incoming attack, Vincent had no choice but to stop the chase and avoid the attack. As he was dodging, Vincent unknowingly changed the slot for his weapons. When he pulled the trigger, the manta ray on his back detached and flew off. Not soon afterwards, the manta ray came back and it aimed its cannons at Justin’s Cestus.

Justin was able to block the beams from the manta ray but the flying backpack ran into him and sent him crashing into a wall. The manta ray then dislodged itself from the wall and reattached itself back onto Mantaraia’s back. Justin pulled Cestus out from the cestus shaped imprint on the wall. He had suffered quite a bit of damage from the sudden sneak attack. He contacted Vincent, “How did you know the manta ray was a detachable weapon?”
Vincent answered Justin with a question of his own, “That thing was detachable?” Justin facepalms his face against his hand, “You’ve had my Mantaraia for three days now, and you still haven’t figured out all of its abilities? You really are a newb. It’s wasted in your hands.” Vincent felt insulted, “Just because you made this thing and you’re a better pilot doesn’t give you the right to be mean about it. Now, why don’t I show you what this newb can really do!”
As Vincent and Justin were about to go for another round, they felt the ground beneath their feet tremble. Vincent struggled to keep his frame standing, “Whoa, whoa, whoa, what the heck is with this rumbling?” Justin looked into the distance and his camera zoomed in. He saw something approaching the battlefield from the horizon.
A shadow slowly moved to the battlefield. As Justin got a closer look, his eyes opened wide, “That’s!” a large body had arrived over the skies of the battlefield. Danny’s frame flew up and attached itself to the top of the large body. Once he did so, six spider legs descended and revealed themselves from the large body. Two thin pincer arms extended from the large body. Mister Myers who was watching the battle exclaimed his surprise, “The spider ride armour, Arachne!”
Sweat dripped down Anna’s cheek as she saw the large spider that had attached itself to Danny’s frame. “Adding a heavy ride armour to the battle as an attachment? That’s against championship regulations!” Danny sneers, “Well, this isn’t a championship match now, is it? It’s a test for your club. So I say, anything goes.”
The two pincers started firing off beams aimed at Anna’s Rosenkavalier. Anna dodges the attack without much difficulty, but while she was doing so, Danny moved the Arachne until it was right above her. The six spider legs had surrounded the Rosenkavalier and electric currents flowed between them and electrocuted any frame that was unlucky enough to be caught in its grasp.
When Vincent saw how Danny attached his frame to the big spider he could not help but say, “Wow, he really is a bug.” Vincent wanted to help Anna, but just as he was about to rush to the rescue, Justin stood in his way, with his bazooka aimed at Vincent. Anna’s screens had turned yellow, alerting her that she was suffering from severe damage and that unless she was able to break free, her frame would be destroyed.
Danny was grinning evilly as he continued to wreck Rosenkavalier under the electric current, “Well, Anna. How do you like it? The power of the Arachne. Now the WARFRAME Battle Club will be dissolved and absorbed into the TTCCC. Anna, starting tomorrow, I’ll personally show you my technique for deck building and card assembly. In our one on one session, I’ll thoroughly and painstakingly, teach you everything I know.” The fingers on Danny’s frame wiggled in excitement.
Watching the entire scene, Mister Myers commented, “Ughh, this guy is super creepy. I’m starting to feel sorry and worried for Anna." He then turned to the student body president, "I think you guys should keep him under careful observation.” The student body president nodded, “I concur. I will remind the committee to keep Danny on a tight leash.” Mister Myers thought inside his head, "If the leash is being held by a pretty girl, I’m worried he might enjoy it a little too much."

Summary Alexander Weiss, an intelligent and slightly unusual man, always dreamt of becoming a mage. Sadly, reality is harsh and even his best efforts never allowed him to achieve his goal during his lifetime... or did they? One has to be careful what they wish for, lest they might live to see it fulfilled. Description Follow Alex, a man whose pursuit of magic could not even be stopped by his non-magical reality, going as far as to create it himself, only to encounter an unsurmountable obstacle shortly before achieving his lifes goal, denying him all access to these powers. His journey will take him through a miraculous world, full of wonders, magic and manic beasts trying to devour him! He will learn much about this world during his adventures, exploring individual aspects of the System and the various monsters that came from it... or did they? Strong points What you'll get from this novel is the following (read with overly enthusiastic salesman-voice) : • An ending! I'll complete it, no matter what. Well, not "no matter what", but as long as I don't unexpectedly end, this novel won't either! • Good grammar! Might not be perfect, but it's definitely good enough to not detract from the story in the slightest. I'll also fix any reported mistakes as soon as possible, be they grammatical, syntactical or just inconsistencies. • No plot-armor! Or plot-weapons! Or plot-... potions? And no plot-holes! If you see some, it's most likely information that is being witheld for future revelations! But in the (hopefully) very unlikely case of such a vile beast being encountered, please inform me immediately and I'll see to slaying it without grace! (Translation: If you see plot-holes, tell me and I'll fix them) • Logic! [Hidden : Spoilers][Hidden : More Spoilers] [Moved to Chapter [Hidden Spoiler]'s Author's Note] Marvelous, I know! • Blue Boxes! And maybe something more! • Sensible retroactive edits! Not to be confused with radioactive edits! You'll not have to re-read previous chapters, even if they get some major edits. If they were to receive new information, I'll add that very information to the newly released chapters too, in a reasonable way. • Realism! Shocking, I know! Especially considering the tag related to that and the point about "Logic!". This also means that the story will be... well, realistically depicting a pretty messed up world. Don't expect bunnies... at least not cute ones. • Relatively faster paced! No long and boring descriptions of irrelevant stuff. There will be some longer descriptions about important things, but that's gonna be necessary world- and/or character-building! • Short action! Might not be a plus for some, but you won't have to look at a whole (or, god forbit, multiple) chapter describing a fight against the same enemy... • Strategy and hard progression! It's a dog-eat-dog world! No grinding/power-creep! If you're up against three enemies of your level at once, you've already lost! • Understanding! It will be mostly about discovering the wonders of this new world and how it became like that, all while trying to survive. So there will be enough action nonetheless! • Humor! Sometimes dark, sometimes light, always at the worst moment! • Constructive critics, welcome! Destructive critics, nope... I can handle criticism though, so don't go easy on me! Just make sure it's really a mistake when complaining about something. • Will add more in the future! If I can think of more stuff...

THIRTEEN (Evie's Perspective)
This is the 2003 movie, Thirteen, told from the perspective of Evie Zamora. We got Tracy's point of view, but what about Evie? Why did she do the things she did?I've seen a few different interpretations of Evie's perspective and I decided to give it a go. This is how I think Evie thought and the reasons behind why she did the things she did. This is NOT canon, just a fanfiction, and I am not affiliated with Thirteen or Catherine Hardwick in any way.
