《W.A.R.F.R.A.M.E.》Chapter Seven: WARFRAME Club VS. TTCCC

The very next day, the three members representing the TTCCC and the two members representing the WARFRAME club all stood beside their cockpit pods as they faced each other. Dark clouds hang over the school as the pitter-patter of raindrops hitting against the roof and windows made Anna’s situation a bit more depressing. She had hoped to get a strong pilot like Justin as her teammate but Danny got to him first. Danny was grinning as he undermined Anna, “It looks like you weren’t able to get more members.” Anna growled, “Were you the one behind that?” Danny deflects, “How can you say something like that? It’s not very nice. Now, do I look like someone who would use such underhanded tactics?” Anna commented, “Absolutely”.
Danny fake gasped, “That’s a low blow, Anna. How could you say such a thing? I’m hurt.” Veronica then interrupted their bantering, “How could you say such an irresponsible thing to the president? People may say that you’re sweet and all that but I know that you’re just a horrible person and that this whole thing is just a façade you use to attract guys.” Veronica’s statement left Anna slack-jawed. Vincent wanted to argue but he knew better. His sister’s words rang inside his head as he watched Veronica and Anna argue. Maya had said, “Vincent, if you see two girls arguing, it’s better not to get involved. Otherwise, you’ll be the target of their rage and resentment.”
Vincent thought about his next words carefully as he observed the argument between Anna and Veronica. He also observed how Justin was silent the entire time and the guy simply sighs in depression. “Alright, enough with the chit-chat. Let’s stop fighting with our mouths and start fighting with our frames. It’s about time we get things started. So, let’s do it, WARFRAME Battle!” Despite the foul weather outside, the depressing mood did not affect Vincent in the slightest. In fact, he was excited. He would be fighting his first actual team battle. Just like when he played all his online FPS games, he was pumped.

Each of the pilots got into their respective pods and sat in their cockpits. The pods closed and the inside of the cockpit was covered in blue light. The cockpits hummed and the main screen for the room turned on. A mechanical voice sounded, “WARFRAME Battle, combat mode, startup. Please set your base reader!” Each of the pilots complied and placed their respective base readers on the console. The information of their frames appeared on their respective base readers and a holographic image of their respective Warframes appeared above the console. Mister Myers and the student body president watched the screen as it started displaying a picture of canyons, and rivers under a dark cloudy sky. The mechanical voice sounded once again, “Beginning display. Field 9, Highlands.”
A blue light passed by each frame and the frame’s surroundings changed to a single room with a long tunnel. The eyes of each of the frame glowed. Rosenkavalier and Mantaraia’s knees bent and buckled. The blue light that lit the room turned red and sparks flew as the platform that appeared before their feet catapulted them to the light at the end of the tunnel. All while Anna said, “Anna Fischer, Rosenkavalier, here I go.” On the other hand, Vincent said, “Vincent Porter, Mantaraia, launch!”
An exit port appeared over the battlefield and Mantaraia exited the port. Inside the cockpit, a screen showing a live feed of Anna appeared beside Vincent and she gave him orders, “Vincent, Follow me.” Vincent nodded and Mantaraia followed behind Rosenkavalier as they moved behind a large rock formation.
Behind the rock formation, Anna told Vincent her plan, “Okay, we’ve got to play it smart here, since we’re outnumbered. I’ll try and get Danny and Veronica’s attention. While I do that, I’m going to need you to take out Justin. If we can somehow remove him from the board, then our chances of winning greatly increase.” Vincent nodded.

On the other side of the battlefield, Danny’s group had taken the high ground. They observed the location where Anna and Vincent supposedly were. Danny watched over the entire battlefield, “It looks like they’re not coming out. I guess we’ll just have to smoke them out.” Veronica then contacted Danny, “Danny, I’ll do it. I’ll force them out from their hole. I’m going to give that snake a piece of my mind.” Veronica’s frame lifted off the ground and flew in the direction of Anna and Vincent. “What, wait, V?” Danny was unable to stop Veronica from taking action. He tried to chase after her
Veronica’s frame flew across the air, “Come out, come out, wherever you are, you sneaky snake.” Anna hid behind the large rock while Vincent had already moved away. Her radar had picked up Veronica approaching and displayed the enemy for her. Anna was in bewilderment as she watched Veronica, “What is wrong with that Collector Hygarr?" Just as Anna was about to shoot down Veronica when Veronica acted.
Her single-eyed frame with a dome-shaped head opened all of its missile pods that were present almost all over its body. The turquoise-colored frame fired every single missile in its arsenal. Anna panicked a bit, “Is this girl serious?” Rosenkavalier dashed across the battlefield passing by each of the canyons to avoid the incoming attack. It took quite a bit of effort for Anna to avoid the barrage of missiles that targeted her.
Inside the cockpit, Veronica breathed heavily and relished in the destruction she had caused. “That should’ve been enough to take you out, you harlot.” Destruction and smoke covered the battlefield. Veronica waited for the smoke to clear to locate the wreckage of Rosenkavalier. Just as the smoke was clearing, the right arm of her Hygarr exploded just as it was shot.
The sudden destruction of the arm caused Veronica to be stunned. Just then, a long cable passed through the smoke and wrapped itself around Veronica’s Hygarr. A current of electricity passed through the cable and shocked her frame leaving it stunned. The Hygarr was then pulled through the smoke as the cable retracted. Veronica passed through the smoke only to have her frame be stabbed in the chest with a rapier.
After dodging the missiles, Anna moved her frame to a location where she could catch glimpses of the Hygarr through the smoke. Her idea worked and she was able to quickly dispatch the vice president of the TTCCC. Just as she was about to celebrate a small victory “Alright, that’s one down. The odds are now…” Before she could finish, shots were fired.
The smoke cleared and revealed Danny in a new frame. It was a Warrior type ash-colored frame. It held a rifle in its right hand and a shotgun on its left with two beam cannons mounted on its shoulders. As he attacked the Rosenkavalier, Danny contacted Veronica, “That was very careless of you Veronica.” Veronica apologized to Danny but she did not seem sorry at all. She pretended to have a depressed tone, “I’m sorry Danny. My bad.” Mister Myers sat on the couch with the student body president and watched as the battle progressed. He had a somewhat worried expression. “So that’s one for the WARFRAME Club. Now, they just need to take out the other two and we’ll be in the clear.”
