《Dungeon World》Chapter 13: Evolution Revolution

Okay so first things first I need to put up a sign, I don’t want to hurt anyone but I won’t protect idiots either, let Darwinism take its course, survival of the fittest and all that.
‘Understood’ a sign popped up near the road heading toward the town. ‘Be nice or get hurt. Also known as, survival of the fittest. -Darwin’
Uh did you just name me Darwin?
‘It fits’ well I can’t argue too much with the guy that’s helping me. I look around trying to find more to do.
“Master?” A voice asked. I’d have jumped if I had a real body, who was that?
Looking around I didn’t see anyone except, oh wait, is that you Panzer? I see what looks like a humanoid rat with makeshift armor and a large hammer kneeling on my porch looking toward my core.
“Master, what should I do to help ready our home for the coming holy war?” He asked solemnly.
Holy war? I doubt it’s going to be that bad.
“You are our god, and we will be fighting the followers of another god, it sounds like one to me.” He said gruffly
Well if you put it that way… looking closer at him I see options to ‘strengthen’ so I do that until I can’t anymore.
“Thank you master, but I still need guidance.”
Gather our rats and uh train them? Teach them to fight in teams and to work together with the others here.
“Your will is my command master.” He stood up and jogged toward the nearest cluster of rats.
That’s going to take some getting used to. Since he’s evolved I suppose it’s widow’s turn. Fining her with Luna I hit the evolve button, with a sudden flash of light she was no longer a spider, but a spider woman? The bottom half looked just like before, only bigger and her upper half was that of a naked woman. Long black hair, red eyes, and fangs, skin also tad white as her silk.

Oh god Widow! Put some clothes on! There’s kids around!
Even as I was saying it she was weaving what looked to be a jacket for herself. “So much for stealth” she said.
Oh no worries Widow, even at that size I’m sure you can be stealthy, and for your white jacket, we can dye it black with some charcoal and water.
“I’d like that, but our yard is open, how will I sneak out here?” She asks me
Well if she could turn invisible, invisible. That’s it! I need her to have light magic. I try to manipulate my own mana and ebb it into her with the light mana being the focus. It was hard. Very hard. I had to use all of my will power to separate all the types of mana from each other and only imbue her with light mana, and then I had to weave it into her being. It’s something I’ve never done before and hope I won’t have to do again any time soon.
‘Light mana obtained, Widow is now able to control light, she can bent it to make anything invisible for as long as she can concentrate on it.’ Cool so now I have a zealous Paladin and an invisible spider girl. Now let’s see what Luna can do, upgrade.
No flash of light for her, just the lump on her back turned into a second tail. Her mana and mana control has increased, she’s able to use two magics simultaneously now and her eyes shine with an intelligence that wasn’t there before.
“Master” a voice seemingly coming from nowhere said, it sounded feminine, refined, almost elegant.
Luna? Is that you?
Luna nodded slightly at the question. “I cannot speak with my mouth, but with some simple manipulation of sound mana I can emulate speech fairly well.”

Smart cookie, well I’ll trust you to teach the other foxes here magic and creating a few specialized groups for defense, healing, and attack of various flavors. Just give me a shout if you need anything
“Consider it done master,”
Also no need to call me master, thanks to my menu i have a new name, you can call me Darwin.
“As you wish master Darwin.”
Close enough
Luna trotted off to start teaching the others magic, or at least I hope that’s what she’s doing. Now last but not least, Bruce. I smash that evolve button, now what’s going to happen?
It was as if all the light around Bruce got sucked away as he emerged from shadows that shouldn’t be there. He stood four feet tall, slightly hunched back but vaguely humanoid. It almost looked like some sort of man- no, no way an evolution would actually be effected by their name. Standing straight up Bruce looked right at my shapeless form, a form nobody else seems to be able to see and addresses me.
“My master, what shall your knight do for you?”
Oh no, he’s a knight too? He’s the dark knight man bat, Bruce. Okay well, do your best to keep the bats doing what they need to for now, if someone causes trouble in the dungeon handle it if another avatar doesn’t do it first. You’ll keep watch over everything for me and help where necessary understood?
“I will protect this dungeon” he said solemnly and perched on the roof like some sort of gargoyle.
Well with all the new changes and everything that is to come, I doubt I’ll have any shortage of entertainment.

Sexy Sect Babes
“One in a billion.” Jack kept repeating the mantra in his head. “One in a billion.” That was the number the Omni-Corps liked to cite whenever someone stepped onto one trans-mat pad and then simply… never stepped off the other. “Safer than a car,” he repeated as he slogged through the snow, his mining overalls doing at least a passable job of keeping out the cold as he brushed aside a tree branch. “Safer than a plane. Or a starship. Safest form of transport in the Star League.” He slammed his fist into a nearby tree, exo-empowered strength shattering it into little more than scattered bark and kindling. “Yeah, well I never heard of a car ride stranding some prick in another dimension!” He roared, his voice echoing through the seemingly endless forest around him. Then he kept marching. He’d seen the fire off in the distance. And given all the snow around, he sincerely doubted it was natural. Which left the unnatural. Which meant people. He hoped. Because even if the trans-mat had screwed up, he doubted it had dumped him too far off the central finite curve. The fact that the air was breathable and that he could recognize the trees around him as oak told him that much. And if the dimension he was in had trees native to Earth, chances are it would have animals too. Of which humans would hopefully be no exception. “Because I’ll be damned if I spend the rest of my days talking to goddamn squirrels.” No, if there were humans on this mudball, he was going to find them. One way or another.

The Dungeon Calls for a Sage
Archimedes was the ego behind one of the most powerful dungeons ever created. He grew and developed his halls, filling them with powerful monsters and beasts, over the course of thousands of years. He was a grand structure of ten thousand floors which even heroes had failed to defeat. However, an Evil God had come from another world, calling himself the Demon King, and a party of heroes were sent to do battle with it. Through their victory, they obtained enough strength to breeze through Archimedes' dungeon like it was nothing. Forseeing the end of his life, and realizing how pointless his pursuit of power had been, Archimedes destroyed himself, taking the heroes down with him. Still, Archimedes felt despair that he had lived a worthless life as something as pitiful and futile as a dungeon. Sensing his regret and potential, the voice of the world presented Archimedes with the chance to start anew and live a more meaningful life. Thrilled and hopeful for the first time in eons, Archimedes accepted the offer, only to be reborn again as a dungeon core with not a single room or monster to his name. Just what was the meaning of this?! Archimedes couldn't figure out what the voice of the world was thinking. Somehow, he would have to draw a sage into his dungeon to figure it out for him. _______________________ DCS is now a member of the WriTEr's Pledge, which means I have sworn to see it through to a satisfying end.

( the idea is that this story will be told from the perspectives of the bad guys. Their motives ,objectives, rise to power, struggles and what they want to achieve. But yes they are the ‘bad guys’ of the story it’s also probably important to note that for the time being it’s going to be written on my phone then edit later when I have the time and feel like it but you should probably think of whats here as a draft until further notice. )
