[Infernopedia]

[Teleportation] - no locations available

[Souls] - 4 affinity-demonic (unspent 4) 94 affinity-none (unspent 79)(borrowed 20)

Frei stared at his balance with wide eyes. He had apparently robbed the people of most of the souls that they had been provided with and added their own four demonic souls as a bonus. He liked to have so many souls, but who was going to pay the debt of eighty souls? Would hell send that nasty people that knock on your door trying to confiscate everything, even things that you do not even own yourself?

Still, their debt did not show at the end of the line, the same number of twenty souls still standing strong there.

"It appears that they will have to pay the debt at the end of the mission, but . ." It was a tricky situation, he should experiment with injecting the four souls into something or someone, getting rid of the horrendous debt just in case there were some trouble later. Before he could formulate a solid plan, another change happened right in front of his eyes.

[Infernopedia]

[Teleportation] - no locations available

[Souls] - 54 affinity-none (unspent 39)(borrowed 20)

The next moment, he found an explanation for the sudden change in [Infernopedia].

[Killing Friendlies] - You are really something to kill four of our own after not even an hour of your first mission have passed. You should know that the authority of hell allows it to forcefully pull back any souls of the lesser denizens of hell along with half of their souls as long as they are in our universe. Do not kill too many, if you endanger the mission objective by killing ours and someone higher up notices, you will wish you have gone straight to hell instead.

Frei gulped.

"Se-self defense, it was self defense naturally." He did not know if the one who had written the explanation could hear him, there was no further explanation.

"Ugh, I will better make sure that the mission succeeds, or I am dead meat. Worse than dead meat probably." Frei walked out of the bus swiftly, his motivation renewed. He jogged along the street and would soon run out of breath, unless he used his additional souls, so he bought another three abilities, [Supernatural Physique], [Stealth] and [Soul Sight].

[Souls] - 54 affinity-none (unspent 4)(borrowed 20)

"Fine, this should provide me with some edge compared to others." All three abilities provided him with great utility. [Supernatural Physique] made him as fit as the greatest athlete in the world, something he could use considering his poor endurance. [Stealth] was always useful, the best defense always was not to become a target. He had yet to test the effect of the last one. When he switched it on, he could see balls of light inside of the houses he passed, but only if he got very close. There were mainly three colors, black, white and grey.

"Do not tell me . .!" If the colors really meant what he thought, it would be a huge scoop.

No, he was fat enough already, his first priority was the mission now, he could satisfy his greed later. He had a feeling he heard a sigh and opened his trusted [Infernopedia] right away.

[Chill Our Little Peep] - Wanton killing of unrelated people is not the best idea. If you do to many of them, angels may sniff around later.

"So you can hear me right?!" A wide smile appeared on Frei's face.

[Of Course Idiot] - but this function is not supposed to be used in this way at all. You can thank my good mood that I am giving you advice little peep. Try to snipe off some weaker intruders, you will pass with flying colors that way. You can take out some of the civils too, but no more than a few, some collateral is usually ok.

[And Do Not Get Used] - to this, I am here just for laughs The ordinary lower rank operators will not risk breaking any rules just to help you.

"And why you do?" Frei was hoping to have a conversation with a big-shot in a way he would never have expected.

[I Do Not Give A Shit] - about these minor rules. Go back to work, you will not laze around on my watch.

Frei almost burst out with laughter telling the operator that he was probably the last one to reprimand him, but he was wary of his rank. What he was doing did look like abnormal use of {Infernopedia].

Frei continued running in the direction of the screams he had heard before. He was startled that the population looked like ordinary humans, hell, he could not get in his head that even he looked that way. The surroundings slowly turned into a less rural area, Frei saw something akin to a bakery, but he was not sure what they made there. Even the houses started to look more permanent. It was actually quite disappointing how close the edge of the town reminded him of ordinary human inhabitation on Earth.

He read the signpost and nearly fainted.

He could read it!

This was Earth!

How high the probability was that he would get a mission on Earth? It had to be intentional. Were they afraid that he would have shit his pants if they had thrown him somewhere totally alien right off the bat?

"Wait, why have I never noticed anything before?" It was puzzling to see something of this kind here, mass media would surely notice a commotion like this, right?

[Heaven And Hell Governs The] - circulation of souls. Do you really think it is difficult to sell this kind of minor incidents as a disaster, robbery or something else? Most of the summoning rituals are actually successful, resulting in this.

His temporary unexpected companion answered using [Infernopedia].

"Why is it allowed to happen in the first place, if hell is oh so powerful?" Frei asked the obvious.

[Why Would We] - stop extra souls from entering our universe? Some of these activities are even encouraged. But do not think it is easy to trick them, the outsiders have not survived by being stupid.

[Before You Start With] - fantastic ideas, increasing the number of souls in our universe is just one factor, you should leave strategy for boys in big pants, Like me.

Huh, was he a general of a galaxy or something? Conceited creature.

Frei scanned another house with [Soul Sight], detecting all the souls inside and his eyebrows shot up. He saw two white dots, two black and four grey that alone was not something to be surprised about, but there were four dots of mild, green color attached to some of them. The feeling they gave off was just wrong, like they did not belong.

"Bingo!" He walked closer to the house and saw that there was an opened window on the first floor. It was not a difficult climb, not presenting a challenge with his newfound abilities. He pulled himself up in seconds and jumped into a room, apparently a kitchen, that was next to where all the people sat in a circle.

He noticed that there was something odd with the two people that were possessed by the green dots, the grey dots accompanying the green ones seemed to be bigger and with a tinge of black in them.

"Now? Seriously?" He felt an itch and glanced at his interface.

[Plantfuckers, They Should Be] - still quite weak, certainly below twenty, more like ten. Shoot the two fast and you should be alright.

Frei did not think much and decided to do what his big brother archdemon recommended, he should know better than him. He aimed at the closed door at the position of the first green target and a black ray of light shot out of his hand. He did not wait for the result and kept shooting, entering the room through the shattered door only after all the targets were either dead or fled.

When he entered the room, he saw five bodies lying dead on the ground, three of them were his targets. All the blood was still making him uncomfortable, but the taste of souls improved it a lot. Besides, he now knew for a fact that the white ones went to heaven and the grey ones would probably follow his footsteps. The black souls were the only ones he should pity.

It was strange that the one remaining fled instead of fighting back. Was he that intimidating?

[Souls] - 3 affinity-plant (unspent 3) 62 affinity-none (unspent 12)(borrowed 20)

He glanced at his souls and smiled, but when he wanted to share his success with his trusted comrade, his smile froze on his lips.

[Instead Of Silly Poses Of] - victory, you should catch the remaining one quickly. He will be desperate, trying to absorb as many souls as he can. He should know it is useless, but they always do that out of desperation.

"Damn, you should have said it sooner!" Frei could already hear screams from the outside. If he left the plant-life intruder alone for too long, it might become too dangerous to kill.

He jumped out of the window and ran after the fleeing intruder. Frei was slightly faster than him, thanks to his investments and could soon see him shattering a window of a flat that was situated in a more densely populated area.

Wait, should he even hurry that much? Was is not in his best interest to let the intruder fatten himself a bit, before he harvested him?

He thought about it for a second, but considering it was his first mission, he should not be too greedy. Following his target, Frei jumped through the shattered window, scared some old lady, nearly stepped on her dog and ran out of the flat through its front door. The intruder left the building and the chase returned to the streets.

Well, the town was bigger than he thought, but he was still catching up. The desperate intruder caught some girl by her neck and began to choke her. Frei just shook his head, the creature was really desperate. He readied himself to shoot, but something unexpected happened at that moment.

"Leave her alone pervert." A muscular passerby shouted and hit the intruder with his fist, sending him to the ground, where he remained sprawled flat on the stone pavement.

"Serves him right." Said someone else and Frei just walked to the creature slowly with a sad smile on his face.

"God, I hope none of my missions will end up in such a pathetic way," He pitied the alien plant-life for a second and then ran him through with a bullet, ignoring the commotion that his action caused like a true tough guy from some movie.

"You can pick me up, the mission is over, right?" He said and opened [Infernopedia] to read the answer. Well, his gains from the last target might have been better.

[Souls] - 4 affinity-plant (unspent 4) 63 affinity-none (unspent 13)(borrowed 20)

[Aren't You forgetting Something Little Peep?]

There was a tense moment of silence, why was he so theatrical? He had located a disturbance, solved it and should go home with at least several commendations for exemplary work! Or was there something else in the mission objective? He searched in the [Infernopedia] until he found the original post and read it slowly.

[Mission objective] - Investigate a minor spatial breach at Galinem-hV6, identify its cause or secure extensive intel on the event. Transportation secured. By the way, the tongues were the best, the lunches are getting better lately. GL HF new meat.

"Fuck, but the name is wrong, this is no Galinem-hV6!" He knew that the damned operator was laughing his ass off right this moment, he knew it!

"Hey! Does the one in his big pants know what is going on?" Frei expected to be enlightened by the experienced demon.

[You Are Too Much!! I Have Not ]- so much fun in ages. Do you understand what the words transportation secured mean? The bus stopped at the place to where a lesser demon have probably already arrived tasked with the mission to teleport all the newbies from this planet to Galinem-hV6, but before he could even teleport you, you have managed to lose half of the crew and involved yourselves in something totally unrelated. Just wait where you are, he should arrive shortly.

And indeed, in several minutes Frei could see a fuming tall male with hair bound into a red, wildly swinging ponytail nearing his location. He arrived with quick steps and pointed his finger aggressively at Frei.

"Stay put!" He uttered, looking at him like he wanted to chain him in place with his gaze.

"Do you understand?" He asked like he was training a dog.

"Yes, sir!" Frei answered in a small voice.

Well, Frei doubted there would be any commendations for this and their mentor here probably still did not know that half of the team was already dead even before the mission had properly began.
