《New World - New Beginning》Chapter 5: I just want a normal knife, please!

As I walk out of the guild, I start to check my map; first, let's see where I am and where I should go.
When I open it, it shows my current location. To the West are the agricultural area and the forest, to the East, there is a mountainous area that once you cross that area, you get to another town, to the North and South are roads to other towns, the map does not tell me the name of the cities, maybe it is updated when it reaches new areas, it is just like in video games where the map shows where you have passed and where not, well, at least it shows the roads that can take.
After this, we go to the next thing, which is to buy a weapon. I have no idea about what weapon to choose to protect myself.
A ranged weapon like a bow or pistol would be ideal. Still, I have no experience with them, and not counting the ammunition, swords are a good option too, but require some materials to keep them in optimal conditions; the same happens with the spears; I think I'd better use a knife or dagger as it is easy to manipulate, does not occupy almost any space and its maintenance is not difficult.
Now that I decided, I proceed to open the "αβΩ SYSTEM" according to Eos; this system not only regulates the objects created by humans, it also allows the purchase-sale of these while you are out of combat, let's try it:
"αβΩ SYSTEM"
[SEARCH]
[WEAPONS]
[EQUIPMENT]
[SPECIALS]
[CONSUMABLES]
[MATERIALS]
It doesn't seem too hard to use; let's see if I can use it by voice command.
Look for melee knives.
It takes a few seconds for the "αβΩ SYSTEM" to show all the available knives, jeez, there are too many, and they are expensive; how can a knife cost 100 gold??

Show me the prices from lowest to highest.
The "αβΩ SYSTEM" restarts and shows me the lowest priced knives first, that's better, the lowest priced one costs 15 bronze, it's affordable, maybe later I can buy myself a notebook and make a list, but first, I can buy myself a notebook, let's look at this knife.
... .what the hell
[Normal Knife]
[Price: 15 Copper]
[An essential knife for cutting vegetables, fruits, meat, and fish. Remember: 🎵 Stick the knife in, guts come out🎵]
[Butcher's Knife]
[Price: 16 Copper]
[A knife that was found in a place full of blood... I DON'T GO THROUGH THERE!]
[Brayan's Knife]
[Price: 16 Copper]
[A knife that was confiscated from a gang member, sometimes you feel the need to wear an upside-down cap].
Ok, ok ok, ok, ok ok, ok, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, I need a few seconds to figure this out, *sniff* ... *uff* ready... WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THESE DESCRIPTIONS!!!!
What kind of descriptions are these! Is the "αβΩ SYSTEM" fucking with me, or is it that it takes the liberty to put whatever comes out of its head? I feel like what's that "🎵Stick the knife in; guts come out🎵". I've heard it somewhere else, although, in a way, it's funny; you don't usually see this kind of stuff in video games where they usually put the typical "It feels cold to the touch for some reason".
I might as well enjoy it; it doesn't hurt anyone.
After letting that pass, I choose the standard knife since it fulfils the functions I have in mind; after selecting it and buying it, it appears directly in my inventory; once I take it out, I see that it's about 12 centimetres long, and it's comfortable.
I already have a weapon, mmm, let's see if I can buy a notebook and pencil.

Look for lower-priced notebooks.
The "αβΩ SYSTEM" proceeds to search and shows me the notebooks.
[Cheap Notebook]
[Price: 2 Copper]
[A cheap and straightforward notebook, perfect for poor people like you, plus it gives you a pencil].
.... what a son of a bitch!
I buy it without looking at the other notebooks; who knows what crappy descriptions it will give me.
I'd better get on with the mission, so I head west to the agricultural area and the forest to get the silora grass and help the farmer with the wheat, let's go!

Crimson Gloom
Crimson Gloom. The time when the moon turns crimson, illuminating the landscape with its crimson glow. The time when the ‘doors’ to the Crimson Abyss open. One shall gaze into the abyss and gain its secrets and powers. Concurrently, the abyss also gazes into oneself, gaining one’s sanity and humanity. Dimensional rifts appeared spontaneously on Earth, bringing otherworldly demons along with the Crimson Gloom. Bloody battles were fought, noble sacrifices were made. Humans eventually sealed the rifts and successfully defended their homeworld. Alas, the seals were not perfect. The Crimson Abyss continued to exist, slowly influencing Earth and its inhabitants. Half a century of relatively uneventful years passed… humanity slowly descended into corruption, and the majority of them knew nothing of the effects of the Crimson Abyss. Is there only the dreadful gloom left to the world? Can one find brightness in the increasingly gloomy world? The youth who had gazed into the Crimson Abyss had no answer, nor did he care. He only wanted the Crimson Gloom to end, to forever seal the Crimson Abyss. A mistake and a twist of fate led the youth into a seemingly totally different direction. Will he forget his lifelong goal? Will he instead step back onto his initial path that he fervently pursued? Disclaimer: I do not own the image on the cover. Image edited on canva.com. This piece of work, after all, is only a first draft and by no means an end product by an amateur (beginner) writer. Mistakes are bound to happen. With that said, I will strive to improve as I write. Feel free to point out errors and inconsistencies as you read. I thank you for your time. Finally, I pledge to not rewrite this novel until the first draft is completed.
