《Warped World: The Nether Dungeon》Chapter 9 What Rage Has Wrought

Core Pov
Attention Raged Fueled Supremacy is no longer in effect; the core may once more interact with and change the floor and creatures found on them.
“That was horrible Umbra. I don’t look forward to the next time it happens. Please tell me that we at least got something useful from this.” I whined like a child.
“Easy, easy Alaric it gets easier from here. Now take a second or two to relax and we can start going over the reward the dungeon got from it.” Umbra said, trying her best to calm me down.
I know Umbra means well, it's just that Raged Fueled Supremacy caught me way off guard when it started even with the heads up. I know it said I wouldn’t be able to interact with the dungeon for the duration. I didn’t know it would literally cut my senses off the entire time, that was not fair or fun to experience. One second I can see everything on the first floor, next it’s all just gone, replaced by darkness. Kinda like being asleep but aware that you aren’t. Simply put, not a very pleasant experience.
“Alright Umbra, I'm ready tell me what to do.”
“Okay first off don’t use (Inspect) just yet. What you want to do is select Rage Fueled Supremacy and think review outcomes. BEFORE you do, I want you to know it will be a decently large sum of information hitting you all at once so be ready.”
Okay I’m ready, let's do this.
Rage Fueled Supremacy Outcome
Shamanism Granted By Outside Source
(High Goblin Unlocks) Warrior, Hunter, Rogue, Shaman
Rogue- (Basic Class) Single Target Damage, Close Range. Comes Equipped With Simple Leather Armor, Lower Face Mask, 2 Daggers, and 1 Poison Vial.
Warrior- (Basic Class) Simple Combatant Okay Damage, Close Range, Comes Equipped With Simple Leather Armor, Sword, Shield, Mace, or Morningstar
Hunter-(Basic Class) Simple Combatant Okay Damage, Mid to Long Range, Comes Equipped With Simple Leather Armor, Starter Bow, Quiver, and 20 Arrows.
Shaman-(Advanced Class) Decent Damage/Support, Close to Long Range, Comes Equipped With Ceremonial Headdress, Light Leather Armor, Casting Focus, and Mace
I don’t really understand anything I’m seeing but Umbra was smiling hard when she spoke “Okay that's a lot better than I actually expected to see. Oh right, you don’t fully understand. Do you Alaric?” I gave the mental notion of shaking my head no, then she continued.
“What it means is that when you get the summon a High Goblins from now on you get to choose if they start off with no weapons and in loincloths or give them a class that comes fully equipped and ready to fight. To be completely blunt you really lucked out with Rage Fueled Supremacy hitting when it did otherwise, we may have only had the very basic of monsters to defend with.”
Okay when put that way yes, I lucked out. Still, it feels like we're forgetting something. “Umbra wait, the message said that another party granted me Shamanism, that is pretty neat, but it means someone is messing with me. Any ideas?”
“Two of the Nether Gods come to mind when thinking about Shamans and since I’m pretty sure one of them won’t directly get involved with you until you start dedicating floors to them it leaves the other, that being Chaos Tyrant of Spells. It should be fine I don’t see Havoc letting anyone alter a floor dedicated to her so she must have gotten permission. So, it's fine, hopefully!”
“That doesn't seem too bad, I mean it helps us in the long run. Magic is always good to have right.”
“Yes and no Alaric. Since Havoc is at her core a combat Goddess it should be okay, just expect restrictions on how many you can put on any given floor.”
Of course, I can’t cheese this and fill out my High Goblins numbers with a bunch of Shamans. Though when I think about it, they are supports that would mean their ability to deal damage is probably lower than other goblins. Which means they probably need other goblins to be effective. At least I have one magical monster I can use on the first floor now. Alright time to finish this up, system what you got for me next.
(Savage Goblin Unlocks) Scrapper, Scout,
Scrapper- (Basic Class) Poor Damage, Group Tactics Recommended, Guerrilla Experts, Comes Equipped With Cloth Pants, and a Spiked Club.
Scout- (Basic Class) Poor Damage, Group Tactics Recommended, Guerrilla Experts, Comes Equipped With Cloth Pants, and Slings.
Wow just wow I don’t know why I even got my hopes up. Sure, technically they got stronger, but I assumed that they would be worth a damn afterwards. Alright note to self-there is no way the Savage Goblins will ever amount to anything. If they somehow do, I swear I will never complain about them again. In fact, I will make sure to do everything in my power to help them get stronger. It's not like it’s gonna happen, it’s good to have insane ideas sometimes. Let’s continue next should be the animals I released into the floor.
Giant Spiders- (Combat Threshold Reached) 10% Size Increase Across The Board For All Spider Species In Dungeon.
Dire Wolves- (Combat Threshold Reached) Alpha Dog Dominate, smaller pack size but increased effectiveness in fights. 10% Chance to spawn a Barghest due to presence of Goblins on floor.
Wild Hogs, Squirrels, Rabbits, Hawks, Crows, Vultures- (Combat Threshold Not Reached) No Advancements At This Time.
“Well, that is to be expected and kinda a surprise as well. The Spider and Dire Wolves proved themselves during Rage Fueled Supremacy; the others mostly got their asses handed to them on a silver platter. The Upgrade for the Spiders and Dire Wolves is sure to come in handy Alaric.”
“I was just about to ask you why so many of them didn’t get anything Umbra, so thanks for the insight. I still want to know just what they did to hit their combat threshold though.”
“Oh right, sorry. I forgot you said that you were basically cut off from your senses during it. To summarize, those three High Goblin girls kinda tamed or trained some of the spiders and helped them push the hogs out of the swamp. The Dire Wolves on the other hand tore through the forest and almost destroyed everything in their path until that first High Goblin you made started hunting them down. The fights in the forest culminated with a 1v1 against a Dire Wolf Alpha, the goblin won but was injured.”
“WHAT THE FUCK, I MISSED TOO MUCH! ALL THAT SOUNDED AWESOME! *humph* Wait you said the girls helped and possibly trained the spiders, so why didn’t I get a Spider Rider or Beastmaster class to use?”
“Remember how the class unlocks says that you have some Basic Classes. Well, you need a Basic Class to unlock an Advanced Class. Shamans don't count here because they were granted to you. The normal way to unlock them would require the Initiate Basic Class first. That's the same reason you didn’t get Spider Riders or Beastmasters, you need the Basic Class for them first. You will probably get them next time since you did unlock Hunters.” Umbra said while doing a spiral in midair. I think she was trying to distract me when she explained it.

“Okay I get it just one last thing Umbra.”
“What's that boss?”
“How do I check to see if I have a boss monster now. You said earlier that floors dedicated to Havoc can’t make them on their own. So, since Rage Fueled Supremacy is over that means I should have a Boss Monster now, right? Also why do you keep switching up what you call me?”
“You should only have to think, Boss Status to check if you have any Bosses or Mini-Boss monsters, and the reason I keep switching up what I call you is to keep our relationship fresh.”
“Well okay then, and thanks for keeping it fresh Umbra.”
She beamed a bright full face smile at me and said “No problem any time.” Now then Boss Status.
Boss Status: 1 out of 1 Boss Monsters Ready. 5 out of 6 Mini Boss Monsters Ready
Boss Monster Unnamed High Goblin Male (Firstborn)
Mini Boss Monster Unnamed High Goblin Female (Brainy)
Mini Boss Monster Unnamed High Goblin Female (Daggers)
Mini Boss Monster Unnamed High Goblin Female (Bow)
Mini Boss Monster Unnamed Savage Goblin Male (Shriveled)
Mini Boss Monster Unnamed Dire Wolf Alpha
Well would you look at that another pleasant surprise. I knew the High Goblins would put in work out there, but I had originally believed that they would make up all of my first floor Boss monsters, can’t believe a Savage Goblin made it let alone somehow acquired Blood Magic. Then there's that Dire Wolf it can’t be the same one my goblin fought Umbra said he killed it. Looks like I have to keep my word on the Savage Goblins and try to help them, who knows maybe they can be as useful as this one someday.
“Well, I checked, here see for yourself. Also, can you tell me what the names at least I think they are names in the parenthesis mean?” As I said my piece Umbra’s eyes glazed over which let me know she was currently looking at the Boss Status.
“Alright, Alaric this is really good, and the name in parenthesis is simply what the other monsters on the floor call them. It’s not the same as a name given by you, so when you name them, it will change.”
“Good to know now to give them names. Also, when I do this, it will have an effect on them right?”
“Only that you will be able to see their full status as bosses with Inspect as well as anything else that comes along with essentially being promoted.”
“What do you mean other things that will happen?”
“No spoilers, I want you to see for yourself Alaric.” She said with a playful smile on her face.
Alright no more distractions let’s start with my actual Floor Boss. First let’s call him back to the fort for this. I spread my will across the first floor to where he lay recovering from the fight Umbra said he was in. I looked at him and told him to come to the fort as soon as possible. The second I told him he jumped up and started running back.
A few minutes later he arrived before my core inside the fort's back room. He kneeled before me and said “My Lord Core, I have heard your words and arrived as soon as I could. Please forgive me if I was not fast enough.” I expressed gratitude for his speed and quickly explained that he would be the first to receive a name. I think I may have broken him as he fell to the floor again.
“My Lord Core, I am not worthy of such a privilege as to be bestowed a name by your supreme grace.” He spoke fast as he pressed himself further into the ground in front of me. It took another couple of minutes before he got control of himself and stood up again. I didn’t wait for him to try and express how unworthy he was again. I gave him the first name to pop into my mind.
“Enough you have performed well in my name. You were injured in my name, yet you wear your scars with pride. You are your past injuries but that doesn't mean they will slow you down. From now on you will be known as Cicatrix Firstborn!
As it is said let it be known, the name Cicatrix Firstborn has been bestowed upon the unnamed High Goblin.
As soon as I finished my sentence the newly named High Goblin before me collapsed to the ground and shook violently for a few seconds. As quickly as it started it stopped and he stood up again. It was clear what had changed with him. The wounds that had marred his body had healed and become raised scars across him. His eyes shone with a new power and then a flash of light engulfed him. When it faded Cicatrix stood, only now he had armor. A leather and chainmail vest that exposed his chest and the scars that ran across it a black wolf skin hung around his waist where a tattered loincloth had been, and leather leg guards and boots covered his legs and feet. Even his axe had gotten an upgrade, what once had been a rusty chunk of sharpened metal attached to a handle now was a wolf's head engraved into the head of a shiny red silver axe with intricate carvings of goblins along a handle that looked to be made of bone.
The changes didn’t confine themselves to my newly named boss either. The fort that surrounded us changed too. The stone became scratched and chipped in places and images of High Goblins appeared on the undamaged surfaces. Yet the strangest and the most noteworthy change were the dozen High Goblins that spawned in the fort and on the walls. I used (Inspect) on one to check them out. I was not disappointed.
Boss Area Spawned Monsters
Race: High Goblin
Class: Champion
Sex: Male/ Females
Abilities: Lunge, Stand Firm, Challenge, Lord’s Defender
Lunge: charge forward and stab or bash your foe.
Stand Firm: by force of will defy your opponents and hold your ground.
Challenge: call out a foe to fight you 1 on 1.
Lord’s Defender: gain bonus attack and defense when fighting in service of a Goblin Lord.
Holy shit this is amazing. If I’m figuring this out right, then the adds for the first boss fight are kinda overpowered and I love it. Now let's see just how bad ass Cicatrix is. (Inspect)
Cicatrix Firstborn
Sex: Male
Race: High Goblin
Class: Goblin Lord
Abilities: Rally, Crushing Blow, Scar, Brutalize, Challenger’s Bane
Rally: shout to the heavens and inspire your subordinates to come together and fight harder. (Buff)
Crushing Blow: Slam Challenger’s Bane into your opponent and crush their bones.
Scar: embrace your name sake as the healed scar and grow in strength. For every wound you receive you gain attack power.
Brutalize: break, rend, tear, destroy, make your enemy regret the day they dared to confront you in your home.
Challenger’s Bane: an axe of great power granted to Cicatrix Firstborn as a reward for overcoming a personal quest given to him by Havoc Matron of Devastation. This axe is alive to a degree and will grow in power as Cicatrix does.
Okay I thought that the Champions were ridiculously overpowered, but Cicatrix that's just not fair. He has an ability that powers him up as he’s injured and apparently that axe of his was a quest reward that I have no idea when he finished. I feel sort of bad for the first challengers to my dungeon. With Cicatrix ready to go and 5 more Mini-Bosses to name and unleash this is going to get good. For me at least.

Delve
Summary – Level 1: Delve is an isekai litrpg that follows an average guy who just happened to wake up in a forest one day. He wasn’t summoned to defeat the demon lord or to save the world or anything like that, at least as far as he can tell. The only creature there to greet him was a regular old squirrel. Soon enough, he meets other people, only to discover that he can’t speak the language, and that not everybody immediately trusts random pajama-wearing strangers they met in the middle of the wilderness. Things generally go downhill from there, at least until the blue boxes start appearing. Delve is a story about finding your way in a new, strange, and dangerous world. It’s about avoiding death, figuring out what the heck is going on, and trying to make some friends along the way. It’s not about getting home, so much as finding a new one. Did I mention that there will be math? Summary – Level 2: Okay, but what are you in for, really? Well, this story is supposed to be realistic, or at least, as realistic as a fantasy litrpg can be. The main character doesn’t instantly become an all-powerful god and murder-hobo his way across the universe. Delve is, at its heart, a progression fantasy, but that progression is meant to feel earned. The numbers in this story actually mean something. Everything is calculated, and if you find a rounding error, I expect you to tell me about it. That said, if math isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty more that the story has to offer. Characters are meant to feel real, and progression isn’t only about personal power; it’s also about allies, connections, and above all, knowledge. Figuring out how the system works is a significant theme. ... What, you want more details? Okay, fine, but this is going to get a bit spoiler-y. Are you sure? Yes! Really sure? I mean, this summary is practically half as long as the first chap– Now! Okay, okay! The main character becomes a magic user, but he takes a route that is not very popular in adventurer culture, namely that of a support. There is a full magic system with various spells, skills, and abilities, but our MC decides that aura magic is the way to go, and that the only stat worth investing in is mana regeneration. Most people at the Adventurer’s Guild think that this makes him a bit of a dumbass, but he’s playing the long game. We’ll see how that works out for him, won’t we? Because of his build, the MC levels up fast, at least compared to normal people. There are no cheats, though, and he is limited in other ways. There are some clear and pretty obvious downsides to his build. That’s what makes it fun, no? Morals? Our MC has them. Again, we’ll see how that works out for him. Realism, remember? Would you be okay with killing someone and looting their body? I sure hope not. POV? The focus is on the main character, but there will be occasional varying perspectives from people around him, or involved in the events related to the main plot. It isn’t going to jump all over the place. Tech is standard medieval stasis. No smartphones, but the MC does have a technical background. Computers and their programming might be involved. There might even be a bit of uplifting down the road, who knows? Anyway, it isn’t the focus. He isn’t going to invent the gun in chapter 1 and change the face of warfare. Romance is not a major focus. Friendships are more the name of the game, though there will be some characters in romantic relationships. There is exploration, though not as much of the geographical nature as you might expect. It is more about exploration of the system and the culture. The pace is slow and detailed, sometimes verging on slice-of-life. The action is meant to be realistic and grounded in the numbers, and it is intended to have meaning beyond simply punching things until they stop moving. The general tone of the story is grey, and some parts can get quite dark. People die. Sometimes, people with names, but not anywhere near GoT level. There is plenty of light, too, though, to balance the darkness. The world is dangerous, but overcoming that danger is why we’re all here, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’ve made it this far through the summary, you clearly like words. I hope you enjoy the story! Cover by Miha Brumec Summary Updated: 2020-06-14

The Wild Touch
The world of Delmathar has many conflicts and plots that span over the whole world and even into the war torn oceans. That’s not even taking into account that the world is a candidate in the Realm wars… but that’s a story for another day. Instead we will follow the story of how a goddess’s botched attempt of using a weak earth soul to make powerful Grafter for her mother, ends up empowering an unsuspecting little boy. The boy who is called Nosal Brownwhisker, who happens to be a peaceful little buttonless-shirt loving little Capyban. And as the Brownwhisker family tries to juggle their everyday lives on their monster ranch and hiding little Nosal’s secret, more and more developments keep popping up in the village of Pancreedy that makes life more.. interesting. Author’s notes:This is my first fiction and I understand it will suck. Hopefully you will find it to be enjoyable enough to hang around. There’s not going to be any epic world-ending fights or any stuff like that, just some shenanigans generally with the story progressing very slowly as it changes from many viewpoints. The world of Delmathar may seem funky for now so I will promise a glossary every 15 chapters. The wild touch will be updated at least twice a week, with me having no backlog of chapters. So if I get mobbed at work or get sick I will let you know in my notes on a short chapter. I hope you enjoy, and thank you for the people who support me, give me encouragement and pointers.
