God of light(Sealed)

I really just raised 7 levels from the combat we have had so far. How long has it been since we first enter this dungeon… 25-28 hours maybe a bit long, well no matter how long it has been that is some insane time per level. If I’m able to keep up that pace, I will be able to reach level 100 in 16 days or so. I will be able to return to the church faster than anticipated and tell that old pope how easy it was.

While I was giggling to myself, I and the rest of my temporary party made our way to an intersection. We had just finished a major battle against High Kobolds and a Drakekin. This Drakekin surprised us majorly, and we almost lost Ziorie our Tank when it sneak attacked her. Fath was not able to detect the Drakekin’s mind, thanks to her focusing on keeping up an illusion. The illusion's purpose was to distract the High kobolds from focus firing the Ziorie with magic and such. What is surprising to us is that most kobolds don’t shy away from showing the magic they learned to other kobolds. Jerry mentioned how distasteful it was just to waste such a prophet so easily, while Fath on the other hand keeps praising them for so easily spreading knowledge without some members hoarding it all in their ranks.

While I was reminiscing on our previous battle. Fath was hesitating to choose a path. I and the other begin to see the hesitation. “What's bothering you so much, Fath,” Jerry says while patting Fath’s shoulders.

“I thought I told you to stop calling me Fath,” Fath responds, looking slightly irritated at Jerry.

“I just shortened it, like come on, Fathtanath is too long,” Jerry says, looking directly into Fath's eyes.

Fath just lets out an exhausted sigh, not willing to get into another debate about how complicated Fath’s name is and how basic Jerry's name is. Fath argues that her name is cultural, Jerry says he was named by his dad. His dad is a human and his mother is an elf, don’t know how they got together but from what I can tell his mother dumped his dad.

I was interrupted in my musing about their previous debates and brought back to the conversation when Fath started to expand on why she has not chosen a path.

“ - that is why I don’t know which path to go down.” Fath says. Me missing the major portion of the reasoning.

“So just like the past intersection, you can’t sense a single mind to the right,” Jerry says, getting serious. He then turns his eye to Tavarious and asks, “So Tavarious do you sense any danger from the right path like you did for the previous one.”

“No, unlike the previous one, I don’t sense any danger coming from the right path,” Tavarious says short and concisely, trying to get the words out of his mouth as fast as possible.

“All right I guess it's up for a vote, who wants to go to the right raise your hand,” Jerry says, his hand already in the air.

I think for a bit about whether or not we should go, and I come to the conclusion that we should because we have been breezing through the mine so far. Tavarious also raises his hand after a look of discomfort crawls its way onto his face. Ziorie raises her hand almost at the same time as Tavarious because in her own words ‘why not.’ So at this point, the only person not raising their hand is Fath.

“Alright, I guess it's time for a side quest,” Jerry says happily. I give Jerry a confused look, not understanding what a side quest is.

I look around to see if the others understand what he is saying, but everyone except Fath also has a confused look, while Fath is facepalming with a surprising amount of force.

Jerry then looks around at our confused faces, then gives us a sheepish grin, and continues, “Let’s just go and investigate.”

I stare at him in disbelief, does he think that those few words will get him out of some questioning on what the hell he is talking about. But to my utter shock, the rest of the party just groans in annoyance and follows him down the right tunnel. Have they questioned him on this before, or what? I ask myself, as I begin to follow with them.

Not long in our track down the right tunnel, we come across a sign with some foreign scrip off-center scribbled over it. I faintly notice that Jerry is staring at it intensely, then he gives himself a slight shake of his head while also whispering something to himself, and continues down the tunnel, not giving the sign another look. I look towards the rest of the party to see if they have caught any of his actions, but the only one that would have caught anything is Ziorie, and she seems content not to say anything. Because of how Ziorie handled the action, I also handle it the same way, not wanting to leave a bad impression on anyone. No matter how much I want to ask.

Soon enough, we make our way to the opening of a cavern unlike what we have seen before. I turn to the rest of our party to see if they also are surprised by the sight, only to find out that they are all staring impassively at the open area.

“There is definitely a boss waiting in there for us,” Jerry says in a matter-of-fact tone.

“I also must agree. You don’t really see open space in confine tunnels that don’t hold a powerful beast.” Fath says in a skeptical tone.

“What do you think we are going to have to fight… A golem?” Tavarious interjects onto the two musings, with slight worry tinging his voice.

“Oh, oh, I hope it's an earth elemental!” Ziorie says in a cheerful voice.

All of us except Ziorie let out a collective groan at the idea of fighting an earth elemental. I could not even imagine fighting an elemental, let alone one buried in their element. I even shiver at the idea, an elemental, even an inferior or petty variant is still almost impossible to defeat, and if you allow them to be in an area where they can absorb their affinities to their heart’s content… I pause at the idea, because the only word that came to my mind at the mere idea of that is calamitous.

“So who's going to test the water and dive straight into the deep zone?” Jerry says calmly, as if the idea of an elemental was just a myth.

We all stay silent for what seemed like hours, but were probably just a couple of minutes. Then Ziorie abruptly speaks up, “I’ll go.” Even though she tries to come off as brave, we can all find the squeakiness coming off her voice.

Before Ziorie is able to take her first step I call out, “Don’t go just yet,” Ziorie pauses with what seems like relief, before giving me a look of confusion with the rest of the party. “Don’t forget I have [Mana Vision]”

“So, are you going to use it?” Jerry says, rebuking me for not mentioning this earlier.

With thoughts of harsh words to come, I scrabble to activate [Mana Vision]. But when I activate it, I only see Darkness, No, it is deeper than darkness, it is as if Darkness had darkness and the cycle repeated itself for eternity. I felt so insignificant to the might, but that's not what got me, No, it was because of how welcoming the energy is, How inviting it is. It was the terror that came from the unknown future, while also being the very same future. It was all but nothing, a contradiction of contradictions while also being a contradiction.

I was abruptly cut out of my visions far too soon, I could not even recognize the beauty to its full potential. When I heard a scream from Fath. I was about to rebuke her for cutting me out of my revelry, but I then see Ziorie, a hole through her armor being torn slightly wider as she was being lifted by some unknown and unseen force. Her body, unmoving but alive, a silent scream radiating off her soul, then it all disappeared. Without rhyme or reason, it all just vanished, No not all of it disappear there was still the lifeless blood dripping off the unseen force. But soon all of that was cut off by a system notification,
