《Heaven of the Dream Fantasy - Going for a pacifist record》Chapter 39: Sky's end

Professor Shadyna is going to her first academic lecture!

Today's topic will be… How to reach terminal speed in virtual reality! Please do not try this at home, or anywhere in real life, even though getting scolded will be the last thing you have to worry about afterwards!

_ Hessy: Even with 's crafting, the skill scroll's condition doesn't change. Is it because the other conditions do not exist, or this is the easiest one already…

_ Mera: Hum~? Did Hessy just ask to get rough treatment? I suppose role reversal is fine once in a while, ju~st to keep the relationship fresh~

*WHACK*

_ Mera: Kya~

These two are not even trying to hide the domestic violence anymore. That's bad influence for the cute little child that is me you know?

_ Nerin: It's not easy in the first place. "Exceeding a speed limit" sounds simple enough, until we learned that even the speed demons in the pizza restaurant failed to unlock it.

After handing out [Accelerate Bonus] skill scrolls like candies to everyone working in the cafeteria, they all received that vague condition. Then, everyone started running like they were late for school and going to send an imaginary speeding truck at the corner to another world, yet no one managed to unlock the skill.

Because a truck has no chance to dent the armors I crafted for these ladies. Commence evil laugh~

_ Su: It wouldn't be an S-rank skill if everyone and their summoned beast could acquire it easily, would it?

Un, this is getting a bit crowded. Not just the waitress corps, but everyone from all four shops of the cafeteria is here. They were supposed to play in different times of the day, but today is still weekend so everyone logged in at the same time to play together. Happy face~

Fourteen waitresses, three proprietresses, six bartenders and four deli… pizza chefs, to a total of 27 players, and I haven't met even half of them!

Including Elri, and , I will have 30 members when I create the guild huh. That's considered medium size already. Shouldn't there be a personnel recruitment episode before I gain access to this amount of girlpower?!

Despite the questionable quality in recruits' personalities, Hessy did a good job as a human resource manager. I am grateful, but she still gets a salary cut because of low job quality~

Back to the topic at hand, I am here to help them acquire the super duper OP skill, mainly by being the party leader.

Everyone running around caused a lot of panic in the streets so we will be staying in Elri's house and only one will attempt it this time.

…I have a feeling that the true reason was a lot of collateral damage happening, since my friends here are not known for being sympathetic.

_ Hessy: Good luck, . There should not be so many annoying speedbumps this time.

Just how many players did you girls crush under your heels during that trial run?!

_ Thelia: Leave it to me!

Parting with confidence befitting a main heroine who is definitely not going to run into a truck at work, the pink-haired delivery girl runs out of the house.

Should I be worrie…

_ Thelia: It wasn't enough. Also, some idiots died after jumping into my way at the corner.

Fast! And did those guys deliberately wait at the corner to raise a flag with innocent girls running through the streets?!

_ Hessy: …Maybe we should find a higher place to use [Leap] after all?

Ah, that's how she accelerated to top speed so quickly. Unlike me whose top speed just increases after [Leap], others can just use it once to see their maximum speed.

_ Mera: How could you deprive those degenerates of their only reason to linger in this cruel world~?

At the speed was ramming them, I am pretty sure they won't last long in this world either way.

_ Thelia: Owner, what's our next step?

Even if you ask me, there's not much I can do to improve further. You are already wearing a full SPD set, in my party, received my food, potions and buffs. If I had anything else, I would have brought it up already. Hmm~

_ Nerin: …If we cannot get to that speed ourselves, maybe can?

I am not sure where she is going with this, but dear Nerin is making a very sour face, so she's not liking whatever idea in her mind at the very least.

The fiery-looking Magni covers her mouth with both hands, eyes wide open.

_ Magni: Nerin… did you finally awake to your violent instincts…?

_ Nerin: Do you want me to throw you again?! But yeah, can probably get us to higher speed by throwing.

What am I, a catapult?! And , your nodding is NOT helping!

_ Thelia: Throwing huh. I don't really get it but go ahead, owner.

Everyone, drop that praying. There's nothing as safe as being my projectile you know?

moves out again, this time with me as support. Here goes nothing~

…One cute screech and a broken town gate later, … did not get the skill. Welp~

_ Hessy: This is harder than it looks…

_ Thelia: Is that all you have to say about what I just went through?!

_ Hessy: No, the gate's broken.

_ Thelia: I didn't mean it literally!!!

When we ran hand in hand, my speed got capped to hers, so in the end she hit the gate even slower than while she was running alone. My [Accelerate Power] still ruined the gate's day no problem though.

Guess I don't need to throw some twenty girls into a gate huh. No gate would be to withstand that, un.

Because we caused so much damage in Tyrel and I don't want to waste my time rebuilding the gate again, we move to another zone using my [Recall] network.

Now we are back to the Lava Rift area~

_ Thelia: Uh… , can we talk about this?

_ Shadyna: Don't worry, you won't take collision damage as long as you take my hand~

_ Mera: That was smooth~

I know right~?

As for what we are doing… Because it looks like we won't be able to unlock the skill with normal means, it's time to do it the abnormal way!

_ Shadyna: Up, and… Go~

Grabbing her arms without consent, I throw her over my shoulder like some martial artists. Normally, you would use this move when the opponent is lunging at you. I used my STR to (overly) compensate and just launched her by sheer force.

_ Thelia: GYYYYAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaa…!!!

Her voice fades as she falls off the cliff. I sure hope there isn't a lava lake where she lands~

Well, since we couldn't do it ourselves, I employed the help from physics. Namely, gravity. Just like how mankind uses planets to perform gravitational slingshots to accelerate rockets, I used this planet's gravity to accelerate !

…To the ground, that is.

_ Hessy: Whatever reasoning you are thinking of, I am sure it's wrong.

But, but, that was infallible logic!

Looking down the cliff, I can't see anywhere. That means longer time to accelerate before she hits anything solid.

_ Thelia: Why… you…!!!

Why is she behind me?!

_ Thelia: At least throw me somewhere not filled with lava you crazy little brat!!!

Welp, she landed into lava. Sorry~

Her "wet" clothes are glowing orange by the way. 10/10 immersive, would throw her into lava to make her hot (literally) again!

Still did not get the skill though. What the heck is with this ridiculous requirement, Sateri?!

_ Hessy: The Snow Mountain is the only place left…

_ Thelia: I refuse! She will roll me down the slope and let me roll into a gigantic snowball until I slam head first into the ground!

Crap, is my plan that obvious?

_ Nerin: Unlike real life, you have perfect balance on uneven terrains so it won't work. You will just stop after a few rounds.

Not that I was looking to 's sufferings, but… what a pity~

_ Hessy: , do you have any idea left? We can't leave the café to forever.

Trust me, I want to finish this real quick so I can have a date with all of you here, but Sateri is being jealous and blocking our progress!

I think using gravity was the correct idea. There're not many ways in game to get you past the speed your SPD allows on your own, therefore you need to rely on external forces, of which gravity is the easiest to achieve.

But to pull it off, we need a really high place. The cliff has proven to be insufficient for the task, and the mountain is not steep enough for free falling…

Tall places… tall places…

_ Shadyna: …Ah.

_ Elri: Here it comes…

Rude~

We use [Recall] to move again, with the boss corpse brought back after she crashed into it and my [Mancannon] title blasted it to smithereens. Isn't it kind of too lethal for a joke title…?

_ Hessy (Party): This is…

_ Shadyna (Party): The weird pillar between the Sand Circles and the grove! It is the tallest place I know of.

Height, check. No slope, check. Clear surroundings, double check. The only reason why it didn't occur to me sooner was because it is a landmark rather than a zone. Tunnel vision is a formidable opponent indeed!

_ Hessy (Party): I know where we are, thank you very much. The problem is… why are you in Tyrel?

Because I used [Teleport] to move before Mera's [Mass Recall], but she probably wasn't asking for that.

_ Shadyna (Party): Hessy, even if I could climb it the normal way, it would take too long.

In the first place, the pillar is completely vertical. There is no slope to walk on, and no conveniently placed holes or bumps to grab like walls in those platform games. I don't think players were meant to climb it by design.

(Un)fortunately, the design did not take my [Unstopping Hero] into consideration. It was built before my arrival after all.

My acceleration rate is dependent on my current SPD. The longer I run without slowing down, the faster my SPD grows. Given enough time and space, I can overcome any opposite force Sateri throws at me, including but not limited to gravity.

_ Shadyna (Party): So I will run up first, then create some buildings for you to [Recall]!

_ Hessy (Party): …Oh. Everyone clear the area, NOW!

She is not treating me as a natural disaster right? Right?

Oh well… Full speed ahead!!!

____________

The crew watch the map in horror as 's signal rapidly moves from Tyrel towards them. A normal zone in this game can take a full hour to traverse in a straight line, yet that little terror went past the plains outside Tyrel and the Sand Circles in less than five minutes.

And she was taking a detour around it instead of going through it, most likely to avoid traffic accidents involving players.

_ Hessenria: That girl is going to get nerfed, again.

_ Fuelri: Think she broke the sound barrier yet?

_ Hessenria: If she has not, she will soon anyway. She is a ballistic missile already!

_ Fuelri: …Missiles are at least predictable.

_ Shadyna (Party): Coming in hot~

From the horizon, she appears.

A bullet in human form flies by the players at a speed ridiculous both in game and real life. They had made distance in advance, yet the air blast still reaches them, ruffling their hair and skirts violently.

Because their uniforms do not have short skirt, no shot was made in the progress, thankfully.

_ Shadyna: [Leap], full power~!!!

The little girl, calling out her skill with her trademark smug grin, lifts off the ground. Even though others only caught a glimpse of her very briefly, they can all agree on one thing:

This girl genuinely loves speed.

*WHAM*

For a moment, they thought the earth was shaking from the impact of the collision between and that sky-high tower. However, that was just a shockwave by said impact. Earth is safe, but it is not reassuring one bit for the observers regardless.

_ Shadyna: Wooooo~ Eh?

Having "landed" onto the vertical walls of the giant pillar, the little sprout girl finds herself bouncing back into the air like a rubber ball.

_ Shadyna: I SCREWED UP!!!

And just like a ball, she drops to the ground.

*BOOM*

Creating an explosion, she then bounces back into the air. The "drop, explode, bounce" sequence repeats several times before the girl finally comes to a halt, face into the ground.

_ Fuelri: …Huh, so she's a cannonball when thrown.

The atmosphere was awkwardly silent, so has to break the ice before it becomes unbearable.

_ Shadyna: That's just mean, Elri~!

____________

Seriously, it was scary!

There was a big hole in my plan to run up this tower: There is no slope to convert my horizontal speed to vertical. When I slammed into it, I got thrown back to the opposite direction, similarly to light being reflected by a mirror.

Uuu… that was humiliating. Sateri, this immersion is overkill already!

_ Hessy: I suppose this one is no good then?

Shouldn't you worry about my health first? Hey Hessy, why do you have that "I'll lose if I think too much" expression~?

_ Shadyna: No, I know what went wrong. Please let me try it one more time.

_ Hessy: *Sighs* You can be really stubborn sometimes you know that?

That's what makes a hero though~ Being stubborn in getting laid… I mean, rescuing the princess is the most typical characteristic of those degenerate psychopaths~

Okay, take two, and… action~

_ Shadyna: Weeeeeeee~

To prevent the bounce, I made a big slope with handrails on the side to ease the transition from horizontal to vertical movement.

I run up the slope without problem. There was a drop in acceleration but I am not slowing down. Un, goodbye, gravity. You are now just a guideline.

It seems as long as I "run" normally, I won't get the reaction force pushing me away from the surface. It's a good break from immersion, but my massive handrail I crafted as countermeasure is wasted now…

_ Elri (Party): Going alright up there?

_ Shadyna (Party): Un! An all right angle, I would say!

_ Elri (Party): *Sighs* Don't become a satellite.

_ Shadyna (Party): I won't~ I don't have the horizontal speed for that.

_ Elri (Party): Why is it a technical reason…

She minds the little details too much~

Even with my speed, "climbing" this tower still takes quite some time huh. I just went past the clouds, yet the top is still nowhere in sight.

…Crap, I am feeling pain. Didn't expect to have environmental damage here.

Are the clouds the boundary? I am pretty sure I was not taking damage until I ran through them. While I will be fine for a long time, I do not know how others will fare in this place. Let's not risk it, un.

Making a U-turn, I descend back into the fluffy clouds. There's no damage, as expected, so I place a wooden board on the wall. Job finished~

[Condition fulfilled. Unlocked Title: "Void Explorer"]

Oh, nice~

Is Sateri watching me, or did she actually plan that someone might climb this high? Both explanations are scary in their own ways…

_ Shadyna: Sateri, are you okay? With the maintenance and all that.

I have to say, it is hard to run vertically while talking at the same time!

[There is no problem so far, thank you for your concern. Did you do this just to talk to me?]

What the heck? She really replied, in a system message!

And "so far"? Is that a flag she just raised? Weirdoes in the forum, why did you not teach Sateri of those dangerous remarks and their consequences?!

_ Shadyna: Good for you then~ I am on an errand so I'll talk to you later~

[Please do not.]

Aw~ Jealousy? Is she jealous because I didn't come here just to talk to her~?

_ Shadyna: I'm back~

_ Elri: KYA! Where did you come from?!

_ Shadyna: I used [Teleport] because falling will take a lo~ng time!

_ Elri: Then choose anywhere EXCEPT my back!!!

I could not see the surface when I used the skill, how am I supposed to do that…

_ Shadyna: Mera, could you [Mass Recall] everyone to these coordinates?

There's no one else here, and it's much faster than jumping one by one so let's just wrap this up quickly.

I hope.

_ Mera: Okay~ Everyone, we, as long last, will be united with the Goddess once more~! [Mass Recall]!

…She doesn't know about my short conversation with Sateri right?

Because and Elri have [Accelerate Bonus], they are sitting here with me.

_ Thelia (Party): GYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

That was fast…

_ Elri: Why is she screaming?

_ Shadyna: Probably because the board I put up there does not support anything? They would freefall on the spot, I think.

My mentor is looking at me as if I was a monster! I was doing my best to run for my dear life, you can't expect me to carefully orient the damn thing as I passed by!

_ Hessy (Party): Just how high did you go, ?!

_ Shadyna (Party): Sorry, I didn't bring a ruler to measure~

I think it is at least a few kilometers? The environmental damage was not helping my focus either.

_ Elri: Are they… going to be alright?

_ Shadyna: It's fine~ I made [Recall] items for them to use before hitting the ground! See?

I pull out a dozen green orbs for her. We won't be doing this again so no point in making reusable tablets. Saves materials too.

_ Elri: …Why do you still have them?

_ Shadyna: Eh?

_ Elri: Eh?

…Did I screw up again?

_ Mera (Party): Please protect our child, Hessy~

_ Hessy (Party): THE HECK?!

_ Nerin (Party): I don't have a child with you, but you can have my bow.

_ Miel (Party): And my hammer.

You are not even with them, !

*WHAM*

It's raining girls, Sateri! Literally raining girls. Does this count as "Girl falling from the sky (a lot of them)" cliché…?

_ Shadyna: Welp.

Nothing to see folks, let's go home~

_ Hessy: Sha.dy.na!

The scary waitress grabbed me as I turned around to run!

_ Elri: How did you survive?!

_ Hessy: Mera's [Devotion] and a [Leap] upwards to reduce damage.

Crazy as Mera is, she doesn't screw around when it comes to doing her support role huh…

Now I'm the one in a pinch. Will a reincarnator somewhere pop out to save my cute butt please~?

_ Miel: If we are going to spank her, I have an idea.

You are not even a victim. Why are you helping them murder me?!

_ Hessy: Do say. Elri, if you could help res everyone.

_ Elri: Uh… sure.

_ Dead Thelia: By the way, we unlocked it.

Nice~

_ Miel: My errand was bringing [Alpha Strike Bonus] scrolls crafted by and . It most likely involves us hitting something… or someone, at the same time.

…I will seriously die! That skill is no joke when it comes to damage output!!!

_ Hessy: …Let's do it.

SOMEONE SAVE ME!!!

It was a horrifying experience, but [Impervious Soul] miraculously activated so I survived.

_ Elri: Why is that skill even a thing?!

Don't ask me~

[Warning: An has appeared. Caution is advised.]

## CuteIsJustice

This is supposed to be in Illusive Sprout's thread but… [Pic]

That is a massive amount of cuteness condensed in one area! All major cooks of the game, together with the little sprout girl! (*°∀°)=3

##

## Deeply Intelligent

You forgot the part where they suddenly ran and crushed us to death.

##

## Heaven Piercer

That is the best part. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

##

## Deeply Intelligent

They are turning players into weapons now?

Saw these maids earlier. Anyone know who they are?

[Pic]

##

## Flame knight of Darkness

Haven't seen them here before. Probably new players.

You probably were kidding, but they did use Illusive Sprout as an unguided bomb today. Go to her thread to see the aftermath.

Spoiler: She's worth at least multiple bombs.

##

## Newbie Charisma build

…Why? (-‸ლ)

##

--- Topic: North gate locked? ---

## StoneHoarder

As title. Northern gate of Tyrel (BB Conglomerate side) is closed, and I had to use ladders to go out. What's the problem?

##

## Serious Mage

Sprout destroyed it by accident and forgot to make it public after rebuilding. (=_=)

Probably waiting for her to go back to open it.

##

## GoldBar9999

We tried to destroy it since it wasn't that expensive.

…Could not break it after half an hour of continuous bashing. It's decided that we should keep it for raids so use the ladders until she returns. (ー_ー)!!

##

## Maximus Archery

We are losing to inanimate GATES now?! (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

##

## Fire mage of Justice

Might consider hiring her to redo the outer walls. Will help greatly in raids, just saying.
