We drive by the cemetery filled with growls of the undead. Just over the gate a little bit, I stop the car and give a gaze to Emily who was still baffled by the looks and aesthetics of the car.
“Emily…There is something I wish for you and me to do…” I say and take her hand, guiding her to the gate of the cemetery.
I then reach down my pockets to take out the 4 crest I gathered earlier this morning and give it to Emily.
“W…Where did you…”A shock expression suddenly appears on her face.
“The men who sacrificed themselves for you, although they did with without wanting anything in return…However, I wish for you to pay some respect to them, so please…”
After talking to her, I let Emily mourn for a while. The
“Nicholas, Arthur, Quental and Hans, I thank you for your services and sacrifices. With your crests, I’ll honour you, my brothers, and my knights.” She gives out a heartfelt speech.
I walk to the flower pot that I had left earlier this morning and salute the fallen knights. Despite not being able to give them a proper burial, I would still wish them to ascend to heaven for their deeds and hopefully the “old man” treats them well.
We then continue our journey, despite saying that the car is able to transport us pretty fast, it still takes a long time to reach the first village.
“Emily-tan, you can spread the bed rolls out and lay in the back. It’s going to take time before we reach the first village.” I tell her.
“Don’t you need me for anything else?”
“It’s alright, I can remember the map and the landmarks there I’ll be fine. If anything does happen I’ll call for you.” I reassure her and send her to the back of the car.
I continue to drive the car on the open road. The road is bumpy, however, Humvees are made for these types of terrain so it’s not really a problem. However, the lack of houses and landmarks worry as though I thought I was lost at some point on the road.
Not long after we started driving, I see some smoke signalling from afar. Assuming that something was important, I then drive the car in that direction.
“EMILY-TAN! Wake up!” I shouted.
“Huh?!”
“There are smokes ahead, those people might be in trouble! We’ll need to help them!” I speak up, raising my voice to show the urgency of the situation to Emily.
With haste, Emily dons her breastplate and gauntlets, putting metal covers for her boots and straps on her steel knee pads and elbow pads.

I step on the gas, accelerating through the bushes and tree branches and finally reach a convoy under siege by bandits, loud screams of a young girl can be heard as well as sounds of sword clashings can be heard, echoing through the trees.
Upon arriving at the scene, I grab a bayoneted AK, chamber my m1911, sheath my combat knife and grab the hand axe that was strapped onto the wall. The sound of the V8 engine filled the air, grasping their attention from the chariots and their execution of the guards. With the focusing skill and vast eyesight, I quickly identify the 15 man bandit party. The guards, as well as the bandits, stop fighting for a second to inspect the strange creature in front of them. The remaining guards retreat to the carriage, creating a barrier protecting the passengers inside.
Opening the car door, I walk out with Emily. With the sight pointed right at the bandits, I threaten them.
“Please, drop your weapons and surrender. We don’t want to kill you but we would if pushed to that point”
A ghastly silence then filled the air, the guards drop their weapons unhesitantly, and creating clang sounds as the metallic swords hit the gravel road. However, the bandits don’t really find my threats convincing, their hysterical laughs break out instantly after the guards drop their weapons.
“Are you serious? Hahaha!...”One of the bandits says to me.
“Listen here boy, you’re the one that should surrender, we overpower you by thirteen men. Just drop your belongings and maybe we’ll let you live.” Not taking my threats seriously, one of the bandits sarcastically give me a half-ass offer.
Sensing that the situation might escalate, I whisper to Emily, asking her to ready her sword and try to take them down non-lethally.
I close the car door, tighten up the bayonet and unbuckle the lock for my knife and axe.
We slowly and carefully set our sights to follow the bandits surrounding us. To prevent sneak attacks by the enemies, we push our backs to each other, covering an entire 360 angle.
“GET THEM!” One of the bandits yells rushes at us while his friends follow him.
Four-five of them run at us while others put up sentry positions, preparing their strikes as soon as their comrade finish their attacks.
Due to my heightened focus, I would be able to dispatch them easily. After extending the stock and turning on the auto, I then use the AK like a spear, more specifically a short naginata.
I once took Kenjutsu when I was a kid, maybe some of the knowledge of swordsmanship might be intensified in the upgrade that God gave me like the marksman skills I’m possessing now.

Focus on one of the guys in front, I then use the butt of the rifle, and hit him right in the forehead, and daze him for a moment which made enough time for me to take him down, knocking him unconscious and subdue him.
“EMI! YOU BASTARD! Guys, he killed Emi.”
Three of them rush at me. With their knives and swords draw, they come at me from three sides.
Dodging their attacks, I move away from the three attackers, the gun is drawn. I then lay three shots to the front attacker’s leg, making him fall down in agony.
This is kinda fun and mortifying at the same time. It feels somewhat relieving after taking down these armatures. I’m not sadistic enough to kill them, but making them squirm after getting shot is somewhat fun.
Despite the other two managed to dodge my shots, they don’t look like they’re still violent enough to rush at me once more.
“Listen! I apologize for shooting you. Just push pressure on the wounds and you’ll be fine.” I address them in a friendly manner.
“You bastard! Have you got no honour? You fight magic against us, we are merely human, and we can’t fight against such power.” They complain, drawing their weapons and trembling in fear.
“Emily! Fall back!” I called Emily back to me.
“I don’t mind being called a coward, and more so if it’s coming from a lowlife bandit. You use your numbers against us. Sure if I were you, I would do the same, sure I’ll send my number to you since your weakness is low on numbers, but this is how combat works. Weakness means death and judging from all of your reactions, I’ll just hypothesize that you are planning to have one of your friends using some sort of stealth skills to try and kill me while I’m talking…”
Turning around and using the butt of my gun, I knock out one of the idiots who tried to back stab me. As the assassin falls down, I catch him by the shoulder and get him into a choke hold, while slowly moving backwards.
“Listen, It’s somewhat rude to interrupt someone while they’re talking you know?” I kindly say to my attacker at a choke point.
“Let…argh… let me go! Brother, help me!”
Pulling out my m1911, I point at the temple of the guy. The man is quite young, seems to be in his teens and seems to not have been a bandit that long. His smell doesn’t give me a gagging reflex like the others.
“Bastard! LET MY BROTHER GO!” One of the bandits runs at me with his shield raised and the edge of his sword pointed at me.
Quickly slinging up my gun, I lay two shots through the shield and stop him at his path. The two bullets punching through his shoulder made the yells of agony rise up once more.
“Brother!” The guy yells out at the injured bandit but is then interrupted by me pushing the hot metal barrel at his neck and so the scoundrel let out a screeching squeal.
“Last chance idiots, unless you want to be like your friends. DROP YOUR FUCKING WEAPONS!”
Cussing is not really how I like to communicate to others, but hopefully, they might recognize my superiority and surrender.
However, my expectation got dropped short since the ones that are left still haven’t dropped their weapons.
“Eh? Still not intimidated?”
At this point, the fun somewhat became pretty annoying and made me show a little bit of my sadistic side to these assholes.
“Emily.”
“What is It Mitsuha?” She replies.
“Don’t judge me for what I’m about to do yeah?”
“What do you mean?” She asks.
I push the assassin down to his knees and aim my AK at his arm. Squeezing the trigger, the guns discharge three shots right through the thick muscle of the assassin, making the sound of agony rise up once more.
“Had enough? fufu~”I taunt the bleeding assailant.
“please... Ack… Please help me…”The boy says.
“This sight might be a good indication of WHAT I CAN DO, to each and every one of you if you don’t lower your weapons right about now. So please, lay your weapons down and maybe I’ll not do a surgical operation on your catorid veins or your biceps and triceps.” With a sadistic face of a madman, pairing with a devilish smile like Richthofen from Cod, I threaten them.
Oh that feels good~
That did the trick to relieve my tension. I then grin like a Chesire cat, satisfied by the actions
In the end, I didn't have to waste much of the ammo and did intimidate them enough for them to give in and surrender. With all the hostility dies down, I look forward to treating them for their wounds.
Suddenly, a loud bang erupted and my body somewhat feels heavy. I drop down knee first, then my head.
Blood?...
Then everything turns black, as i see a pool of blood drawing out of my body.

World: The framework of reality. The rules which govern interaction. The dimensions within which existence takes place. Soul: Mind. The source of thought, of consciousness. The means by which reality is observed. Body: Form. The means by which one interacts with the World. The substance from which reality is formed. Spirit: Life. The connection between Soul and Body. The anchor to the World. What happens when these foundational forces are given human form? When they're confronted with the truths of human nature, of human frailty? When the evils of reality are thrown in their face and the question is asked: What are you going to do about it? Why did anyone ever think they'd need horses? I upload ~30k word chunks at the beginning of every month, rotating through each character in order. I have at least four extra chunks on my Patreon. I suggest setting your reading preferences to indent and 30 pt paragraph spacing for the best reading experience.
