《My power is actually really OP you know》16. The president

"Hello everyone, Angelica here. I just want to tell you all that I love you!"
My sister was amazing. Just in a moment, she managed to capture the imagination of everyone in the room.
Literally. Everyone has a different image of a perfect star in their eyes. It seems she really rubs off me. Her ability seems just like a watered down version of mine that can be used normally at any time. How envious.
Wait, this is not the time to be envious of my own sister.
I need to enjoy this performance. I feel that she really didn't need to have done that though, her singing is fine the way it is.
...though it does explain why Nessie is suddenly a big star though. Early in the day I did some investigation.
"Angelica sold her first platinum after debut."
"The first live stage with half a million people."
"The biggest rising star of this century."
He he... She over did it.
Sooner or later someone is going to target her, I just know it. Should I contact my agent again?
Thinking about it, I decide not to. For the purpose of not being found out, I have decided to only use that contact every two months. And not during the time there was some scandal or war either.
Though it is not like there are any need to worry about scandal and war.
It seems my agent on the side of government is perfect. There was never any complaint about him. It is going to be the best run yet for this country.
As expected of my power. It created someone who is perfect for his role. I don't need to worry about anything since my agent has already done it all.
At that moment, inside a secure underground building. The president was contacting a group.
The group consisted of ability holders.
This was the secret the president of the country ha been building. This president has been good, that was what the ability holders in the employed of the government think.

He treats everyone equally and employed all of them for jobs that are suitable for their abilities. He was not foolish as to discriminate them...
...Though at first, their instincts were to run when the guy just confronted them like that though.
However, at first, only patriots were contacted. They were given a purpose to believe in. They believed that their countries won't abandon them no matter how they turn out.
It is one of the better kept secret. And today, a secret group was summoned.
The president walks into the room, surrounded by body guards. He was a normal human, the only thing he has going for him are his intelligence and charisma. It is not like they can't kill him in a moment if they go rogue, however it is just proof that he trusted them.
The president was not that old, he was in his 40s. He did not show his age yet unlike the other previous tenant under this sort of pressure. He dealt with pressure better than anyone else.
Suddenly, there was a big smile on his face.
"How is everyone doing today?"
Everyone was taken back at first. It is not a power but sheer force of personality.
There was a discarded theory a while back. The great man theory. It is said that people like pop star, leaders, stars have a kind of gravity pull to them. It is something only they have, which can easily pull everyone else into their orbit. The ability holders don't actually believe in that, but here they are.
It is like they are facing the avatar of the nation.
"We are fine, mister President!" The youngest of the group, Jessie shouted and ran over before being stopped by the bodyguards. She pouted, but took her place.
Honestly, that girl is too overly attached sometime. It couldn't be helped. The other person is that great of a guy, offering to take them in when no one else would, when they were lonely and afraid.

And here he built a force.
"Jessie, we are here for work today."
The leading ability holder reminds her.
Slowly, all of them sit down to hear what the commander in chief has to say.
Slowly, he took out a picture.
"Ah! That!"
Jessie says.
Another person took a look at that and gritted his teeth. It was an image familiar with the ability holders in the room. The source of their nightmare.
General Hallas.
"That man-"
The president cuts them off.
"Today, general Hallas has gone rogue. He was going to proceed with a plan that if succeed, will drive a wedge in between ability holders and normal human forever as well as blowing the masquerade wide open."
The ability holders in the room gritted their teeth, it was that guy, that guy that made their life a living hell.
He was rooting out ability holders from the force and executing them.
It was thanked to the president that the current batch was rescued and hidden. However, even the president cannot order that man to be punished right then and there. Not when the matter of ability holders are still being hidden. So they have to bare with it.
Slowly, all of them take a collective breath.
"So where do we come in?"
"You don't need to."
The president takes out another folder.
"Early this day, we have apprehended the drugged ability holder that general Hallas was going to use as a scapegoat for a public terrorism act. With his testimony, we were able to bring that man to justice."
"He-"
"That man is dead."
There was a brief moment of clarity in the eyes of the ability holders in the room.
Justice.
Justice has come.
"What's next?"
The ability holder leader asks
"However, before his dying breath, general Hallas was able to send his message to a group of men loyal to him. At this moment, all of them have gone rogue."
"I understand. With our abilities, we will bring them to daylight."
Without another words, with boosted morale due to a hated person being killed, the group move out leaving the president in the room.
Of course the terrorism bit was bullshit. General Hallas was a patriot, and he also hated ability holders too much to make use of ability holders.
However, the drugged ability holder was real, if the matter with general Hallas went wrong, he would be blamed for terrorism charge sooner or later.
The animosity between general Hallas and this group too was expected. General Hallas didn't even know about ability holders before before the matter was brought to his notice by the president. How could his policies not been known by the person directly higher on the command chain.
The group of ability holders believe that general Hallas was the devil. General Hallas too, believes that ability holders were potential enemies of the state.
It is good to split the government power into smaller pieces for control.
In case of anyone being a liability, the other pieces could be used against them.
The only unexpected development from all of this was the group "Paradise Lost" developed by general Hallas in secret. Though half of the members are already known, and with the group of ability holders with tracking ability on their tail, the other half won't last long.
Slowly, he presses a button that sends the image of the group of ability holders to a normal intelligence agency. After this matter is taken care of, they are next.
Today, the president lost a lot of pieces, however...
He turns on the TV and a concert was on. By luck or by crook, the camera was on a certain person in the crowd.
"For you."
The man smiles.
The camera was on a dirty hobo
