《My power is actually really OP you know》5. The Elder thing stories

Ah shit ah shit ah shit.
I finally get away from that crazy woman. Even if I could deal with her, I really don't want to.
Lilith is gross, and is too depressing for me. If I really have to stay near her, I may become depressed again.
Just being near her is already a crime against me. I sure hope someone deal with her. Sure, Lilith is one of the few people who I can move against, but it is like burning your house down because of a cockroach and Lilith is the cockroach in this case. It is beyond the pale for me that is all. I really, really hope that someone could do something about that. Not me, because my hand is tied though.
After that, I sneak out of the hospital. The government would have surely covered my track already.
That is just how OP my power is. Just by being passive, the government is on my side in most scenario. In fact, I'm sure my hospital fee has already been paid. So saying, I left for the street. When I walk by I saw the wonder four walking and laughing on a group outside. Well, at least they are happy. Nobody even spares a glance for the hobo
It is a really sunny day out, it was a good day for me to take a walk after my ribs have healed.
"Honey, I would like to see the rainbow."
In the park, there was a couple being lovey dovey next to me. I ignore them because it's public space, they can do whatever the fuck they want.
However-
"Sure honey."
The boyfriend says after hearing what his girlfriend has said. He points a finger to the sky. I was standing out in the open under the sun so I didn't feel the need to get to a shelter. However, in the next moment, suddenly without notice, it starts raining.

Then, the boy points his finger down, it starts to rain even harder.
After that, he raises his finger.
Just like how it appeared, the rain disappeared like it has never happened.
One of the few other people in the park could only say
"Huh? Some strange weather we are having lately." They just shake their head and go on with their way.
I look down at my damp clothes. I look back at the couple. They were looking at a 'natural' rainbow in the sky.
Ah, damn you. If I could use my power right now, you would have suffered, got it? It is because you are too beneath me that I could not use my power, got it? Y-you aren't even a micro bacteria let alone a bug in the eyes of my power, got it?
I-it is awfully cold though.
At mid day, I fall asleep.
I wake up at mid-night. It seems someone picked me up and took me to a nearby care center. How kind of them, that is what I expected out of the heroic youth of today. Even if they have to keep a secret, surely their heroic nature remains the same.
However I find that my current bed is as comfortable as the high-tech bed from before the collapse. Curious, I look down and find that it is made from a strange organic materials. Something this world's current civilization could not reach yet, surely. My bed is yellow with a few black dot. It is like a large block of jelly.
I get down from the bed and look around.
Have those fellows reset the timeline again? It seems society has reached the sophistication of the previous timeline where every men get what they need and the people who could provide (ability holders) do everything in their power to sustain society.

It is a shame that society could only last 30 years before the reset button was pressed and everyone have to cross over to a new world.
Though if I had used my power then, perhaps things would have changed. But nah, it is not enough.
As long as society continues, it is proof that my power is not needed.
Just like with all the people Lilith has killed, she puts them all back, so why should I care?
What if a universe is destroyed again and again and again, why would I care if everything is fine in the end? Yeah there may have been a few changes here and there, but overall, the world continues.
If I use my ability, it wouldn't. No matter how many people try to resist, it really wouldn't mean a thing.
However, currently, it seems society has changed again into something of my liking. An advanced society where the only thing I have to worry about is my power.
I was about to greet the people of the new futuristic world when the door to the room opens and someone walks in.
A mess of slime and bone rolls into room.
It is not even human!

The Outer Sphere
Garth Daniels is down on his luck, running from his life in a quiet little town in the middle of America when our universe is co-opted into a war between an unstoppable race of reality-hopping monsters that feeds on the flesh of living creatures, and a conglomeration of thousands of realities, nested inside each other like a matroska doll. We're the new layer. These monsters, the Kipling, can only be defeated in a reality with very specific physics, otherwise they are unstoppable, and so Earth's universe has been assimilated to give us a fighting chance. Garth must set aside everything that he knows, and think fast to adapt to the new laws of nature if he wants to survive. Cover by Asera, a cool, helpful dude, who doesn't get enough props. Go check him out!
8 142Apollyon's Curse
Within the pages of folklore and fantasy, tales of people who chase after the dream of eternity, of living forever, rarely find a happy ending. They are either struck by the grim truth of reality, give up, and return to mortality or face a ghastly realization of their wishes. The latter often the worse fate, as they come to realize, only far too late, that what they sacrificed was worth far more than the time they gained. Ultimately, the common thread in these stories is that “immortality is as much a curse as it is a blessing”. People either realize it early and give up or are doomed to inevitably face its consequences. In the world Enrich lives in, that saying does hold merit. Every pathway towards eternal life has shackles of its own. They bring those high above down to the ground, evening the playing field. It is thanks to these fundamental laws that ambitious mortals are able to defy the heavens and achieve immortality themselves. The variety of methods result in each of these bindings varying in intensity and degree of freedom. Enrich’s path doesn't break this trend. Though, after what he did to himself, most wouldn’t even consider him a living thing anymore. On the day of his ascension, a world’s worth of souls were melted and recast. On that day, the human’s path had reached its conclusion, recast into Apollyon. An artifact, a weapon, is eternal, after all. As for the curse? The payment will be made, as it must. So why not offload the curse to someone else? Mortals throw their lives away for all manner of petty reasons, noble or otherwise, especially in desperation. Eventually, someone will be willing to foot the bill. Most will if given the chance. The bait is far too tempting, after all. Power, status, knowledge. All at their fingertips. If only they say “yes”. And Apollyon is very willing to help any lost souls. If they give up everything in return, of course.

8 122The Sagas of Mortaholme
There is only one god and his name is Elduin, Dwarves are stories, magic isn’t real and the northern kingdoms are made up of raiders and the unfaithful. For two thousand years this has been the truth for the people of Alturine, the holy southern empire. For two thousand years, tradition has been leeched away to form a vicious cycle where the rich stay rich and the poor beget more poverty. Only now, when the southern realms of men are at their lowest does darkness leak back to stake its claim. Marius was raised in the northernmost reaches of Alturine under the trees of the Black Forest where remnants of the old kingdoms still linger. He never believed the stories of short mountain men, nor the old fables about mages and dragons. Yet the darkness cares little for belief and faith. He watched as wargs tore his mother and sister asunder, as the undead carried his father into their ranks and as his town was put to the torch and drowned in blood. Rage fuelled and vengeful Marius struck out against the architect of his misery only to be outmatched and left for dead.
