《The Archdevil's Descent》Chapter 5.

Demiurge watched in interest as the building collapsed and humans ran in every direction, trying to get away from the place. Soon he could see a dark decaying wing rising from the back of the same boy who had accepted his proposal. Interest gleamed in his crystalline eyes as he observed the once frail boy accomplishing feats that should be impossible for him. Demiurge knew his eyes weren't deceiving him, he felt that the boy wasn't entirely human, and now his assumption proved to be correct.
Although the body staggered it was obvious that the boy's power level had risen, and not only by little from the looks of it. Demiurge watched as the boy pointed his sword to the sky, and then let his hand fall. A shadow of darkness shot out in a straight dense line devouring everything in its wake.
Demiurge's eyes gleamed in anticipation. He couldn't help himself. He flew down and decided to test the limits of the boy's power. From the looks of it the boy had jumped from around level 10 to 40. It was an unforeseen outcome. Demiurge would analyze, understand, and see if he could replicate the phenomenon, — it would be a great addition to the underground tomb of Nazarick.
The boy seemed to react on instinct as he turned towards him. Demiurge noted that one of the boy's eyes was obscured by darkness while the other was wholly red and blood trickled down his face. The boy's wing was dripping a dark corroding liquid, — when it touched the ground it melted away.
Interesting, — he thought. The man would be the most peculiar test subject, but he knew too little. About the boy's strange ability and about the world. He would test the boy's power briefly and return later to collect this lab rat. Now then, how should he probe at the boy's limits? He wouldn't risk facing the boy himself because he didn't have confirmation that the boy couldn't just power up once more. After a moment's consideration he had decided, he called out. "Come forth, evil lord of wrath!"

Shinoa felt like she was hit in the head. It was throbbing intensely when she regained consciousness, she felt something, or rather someone pulling on her leg, trying to drag away her body. What was going on? — she thought and opened her eyes to get a read on the situation.
All around her there was destruction, collapsed buildings, unmoving bodies, rivers of blood. As her hearing returned, she could hear distant outcries for mercy followed by the crunching sound of bones breaking, shattering under impossible pressure.
Her eyes widened when she laid eyes on a familiar figure. On the bottom of a 25ft diameter crater she saw a bloodied boy, his demon army uniform ripped to shreds, deep wounds etched across his body, he laid there — motionless.
"Yu!" She cried out, hoping for a reaction, yet none came.
She staggered to her feet and saw that a hand was indeed clutching her ankle, but the one to whom the arm belonged to was nowhere to be found. It was only a hand… separated from a body.
She leapt back, kicking off the dead meat from her legs, as she hastily crawled away. In her hurry she fell and rolled down into the huge crater, her line of vision continued to spin until she came to halt, crashing into a body, — Yu's body. She shrieked in terror, as she finally understood the weight of the situation, while she frantically shook Yu's body, desperately hoping that he would wake. She needed him. She might put up a brave front, but the truth of the matter was — she was afraid, terrified beyond measure.
"Yu! W- wake up! Please you have to wake up! Y- You can't leave me!" There was no reaction.
She began frantically scanning for others, but the crater was deep, and she could not see over its edge.

She managed to calm down a little after confirming that Yu was still breathing. Thank the heavens. She gazed at the broken body of the poor boy… "Oh Yu, I hope everyone is alright." She said before exhaustion took over, and she drifted off to sleep, unaware of the shadow stalking her.
At a distant rooftop.
"Unbelievable. Amazing! To think that the boy could hold up so well against the lord of wrath. Simply incredible! I can't wait to see what else this boy is hiding." The archdevil mused as he looked over at wrath's battered form. Even though he could only summon a weaker version of his lords of sin, he hadn't expected this. There were several deep cuts, and dents on his body, each oozing a disturbing, repulsive dark liquid which kept eating away at his body.
The archdevil let his grin stretch from ear to ear as he turned around, his audience visibly shrank under the cruel visage which promised nothing but torment. Poor children were unfortunate enough to run right into his grasp while they were escaping from the destruction the earlier battle had wrought.
"Now then, I believe it is time to take our leave." The frightened children couldn't even nod under the pressure the fiend was emanating, but it was plain to see even for them that the cruel demon reveled in their suffering.
"What are you waiting for?" He asked, and the children gulped audibly.
"Move, I won't ask you again." Several pair of eyes dilated, as they found that they lost all control over their bodies, — they moved to align with the devil's will. To satisfy its cruel design.
The archdevil grabbed an unconscious girl, and a boy dressed in the demon army's uniform before turning around and making a welcoming gesture, the children could only shudder as a black swirling mass of energy came into existence.
"Move through the Gate." The fiend instructed before stepping through the portal, the children following not far behind.

The Calculator - Supervillainess Time Loop
What makes a terrifying villain? Is it ruthlessness? Is it how powerful they are and how many buildings they can down in one blow? Is it how hard they are to kill, contain, or get rid of in any manner? Is it their knowledge of a hero’s true identity in a world where secrets must be kept? Or is it perhaps how they seem to be perfect in all their actions, defeating the hero at every step of the way throughout to the last one, only to humiliate them one last time before declaring themselves the winner in the grand scheme of things? Isabella Blair is perfect. She knows all your moves before you even make them. All your ambushes are faced with traps and she dodges all your blows like it’s child’s play. Catching her is impossible because she’s always ten steps ahead of you. She says she calculated everything, but she messes up in every fight. She loses far more than she wins, sometimes a hundred times for just one small victory. Yet, she is perfect. How is that possible, you may ask. That’s because she has the uncanny ability to return to the past whenever she makes a mistake. All that’s left in the end can only be what’s perfect if all the realities in which you’ve lost are gone, after all. And that makes for one hell of a terrifying profile. Crossposting on ScribbleHub, SpaceBattles, and Wattpad. Don't mind the "Pre-Rewrite" Volume. It is there for reference until the story catches up to the chapter count via the Rewrite (and to justify the current reviews as there would be no context to them otherwise). If you are a first-time reader, feel free to start from the other Volume.

NEVER SPLIT THE PARTY: The Adventures of The Creeping Bam (BOOK ONE: The Job)
TAO is a broken world held together with nothing but magic and the will of the gods who protect it and its people. Then thousand years ago THE SUNDERING struck and Tao was almost torn apart by a terrible magical cataclysm which resulted in the planet almost being halted in its journey through the cosmos. It took all the power the gods of Tao could muster to restore its orbit and set it turning again, but in their efforts it was forever changed – its axis was drastically altered, and it now spins in such a way that one face of the world is forever turned from the sun it orbits, leaving half the planet in perpetual darkness. The various humanoid races that survived and now thrive within the habitable parts of THE DAY LANDS have come to live in perpetual fear of what lives beyond THE BORDERLANDS that separate them from whatever dwells within THE NIGHT LANDS, but for ten millennia it has kept its secrets. The land of RUNDAO languishes under the rule of their warlike Northern neighbours, the TEKTEHRAN EMPIRE, while a small, ragtag band of motley adventurers ply their mercenary trade fighting monsters and protecting the common man from the various dangers that haunt the night and prowl the hinterlands on the edges of civilization. THE CREEPING BAM have amassed a modest reputation in their years together, but they’re still just a small-time party of sellswords, thieves, outcasts and mages. They’re also exactly the kind of underdogs the people of Tao doesn’t yet realise are needed to save the world from the encroaching darkness they doesn’t even know is coming … This is a love letter and homage to the high-fantasy worlds of the tabletop RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder and Warhammer and the sword & sorcery cinema and literature I fell in love with as a kid growing up in the 80s, from Robert E. Howard’s Conan the Barbarian (and the awesome Schwarzenegger movie, STILL my favourite fantasy film EVER), The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit and Ron Howard and George Lucas’ Willow, to the more grown-up and edgy worlds of grimdark masters George RR Martin and (my all-time favourite) Joe Abercrombie, as well as a BIG DOLLOP of Terry Pratchett’s immortal Discworld series. IMPORTANT: This story contains material which some readers may consider to be mature, such as battle violence, some strong language and occasional mild sexual scenes. If this is not your kind of thing, this story is not for you. I am also serializing this story on Tumblr, Wattpad, Quotev and Sweek.
