30 days had passed since Chansu entered the Hall Of The Ancient Elders. When he finally came out, his power had grown significantly. He had reached the pinnacle of the 5th Luhan Layer. He walked to his family's house. Raiki was waiting for him. "How do you feel?" "Like a new person. I'v'e reached the Pinnacle of the 5th Luhan Layer, I can feel power coursing through my veins." "That's good. Your teacher left the day you entered the Hall of the Elders. He said he'll be waiting in Shimoda. That's where the Head school of the Shark Arts is." "I see. Makes sense for it to be in a beach town. Well then." He took off the patriarch ring. "What are you doing?" "While I have proven worthy of being the next patriarch i am still very young and inexperienced and lack the necessary wisdom. And I cant be the patriarch in my absence, The patriarch must protect and lead the village and handle political affairs. I cant do any of that as I'll be training and cultivating at my school. Therefore I'm giving the position back to the rightful Owner until the time that Iv'e grown enough to hold this position." Chansu bowed. "My son, you are already plenty wise in your own ways." Raiki thought to himself as the accepted the ring back. Chansu began to pack his things. He had discovered in the Hall of the Ancient Elders various books on cultivation apparently written by Past Patriarchs that broke through the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Zhang Realms. As well as techniques of various spirit animals. He wouldn't be able to use them, so he figured he'd give them out to his fellow clan members. The power of the clan should layered members greatly increase, and at least push a few people to the 5th Luhan Layer, and the already high even higher. Raiki was already a 10th Luhan Layer, and the Grand elder was at pinnacle the 3rd Zhang Realm soon to breakthrough to the 4th Zhang Realm. The upcoming war was to be a fierce one, and all of japan would be involved this time. Later that night after Chansu was finished packing the clan gathered to see him off, and wish him best of luck. The grand elder spoke to him. "Chansu The day has finally come for you to set off, just as each of us before you have. But this time you are different than all of us. You have a purpose, a Goal, A reason to go out and get stronger, beyond the use of regular competition. You will be a hero and make us all proud as you lead us to battle and to victory." Raiki Spoke next. "My son, you leave here today not as a boy anymore, but as a man. If you are ever in need of help, don't hesitate to send for help. We will be there. Stay humble, wise, know humility and persevere." "I will father." Chansu bowed turned around and walked on, as he waved back to everyone. He was accompanied by the Clan's Jade Goshawk. A 3rd Zhang Realm bird Demon Spirit Beast as green as Jade that has lived on and reincarnated within the clan since it's creation serving as the right hand of the clan Patriarch. Chansu took out a map of japan that Azusa drew for him. Without even reaching the school his was to begin. From Tokyo he had to pass through "Zaishi's ravine". An area filled with bandits and thieves just waiting to attack travelers. From there he must go through the fields of Izai. filled with Demon Spirit Beasts easily 6th Luhan Layer and a few 7th Layers. He must collect two 6th Luhan Layer Demon Beasts Cores and one 7th Luhan Layer Demon Beast Core. Then he's to rest in Kanagawa, where he'll meet a 10th Luhan Layer Shark arts master who'll test him. Only after passing that test will he be allowed to continue to the school, boarding the train in Kanagawa for the remainder of he trip. "Well, Patriarch bird I have my work cut out for me. Better get to that." He walked on.

Embrace the Blade
Born crippled, it was no surprise when James Ransom died young, but he was offered an opportunity - a mission: to go to a new world and become strong enough to kill the hidden boss behind the final boss. Now in a new world he must research and study the system to take advantage of it, find his strengths; form alliances and find party members to become strong enough to face the end. This story does use Multiple perspectives and tells stories that add to the MC's. I've been given this feedback enough that I feel the need to mention that growth (levels, skills, classes, etc.) is slow, intentionally so, but constant. Credit for the cover goes to a commission for KemptBones from DeviantArt for the cover. This book is a rewrite of the original Embrace the Blade. The timeline for this one is completely separate and you do not need to read the original to understand what is going on. If you want to check out the original you can find it here (just a warning that they are NOT good): ETB Drafts 1&2 If you came here from the original EtB, WELCOME!!

Silver Fox and the Western Hero
Author's Note. This is book 7! Please feel free to hop on and enjoy! If you find you like my writing style, I hope you'll check out the first 6 books, all available to read on Kindle Unlimited, link below!) Alex was dying, and all the millions his father had left him meant nothing. The life he had been so eager to embrace, to do the memory of his father proud, would soon come to an end. Cancer. That ugly, terrible word. He had tried to be strong for his mother, even when the treatments left him violently ill, his body wracked with pain, his friends and even his girlfriend leaving him almost as fast as his once impressive physique wasted to nothing under the ravages of his illness. And just when he thought all hope was dead, a couple discrete referals placed by high-powered friends of his family got him an exclusive spot at the most sophisticated cryonic facility in the world. He didn't know if there was such a thing as an afterlife, but part of the package included uploading a copy of his cortex into a digital universe filled countless worlds to explore, where he could embrace whatever class or profession he could dream of. All of which sounded hell of a lot better than the miserable death waiting for him in the real world. In the end, he signed the paperwork, putting his pathetic flickering life in the hands of potential quacks and charlatans. After all, with death just days away, what did he have to lose? Even if he could never be successfully revived, he could at least adventure his heart out. (Authors Note: Books 1-6 are now live on Amazon and here is a link if you wanted to check it out! And I will continue to post chapters to Book 6 here first, until that tale is told! I hope you enjoy! And if you wanted to help support my work by checking out book 1 on Amazon, I would be extremely grateful!)

Luck And Chronomancy
Time Magic is the best magic as everyone knows, although there are lots of unique Talents in the world. Most people only remember Haste because it is hard to get to higher Phases of Chronomancy. That is still enough to make the Talent iconic. A lucky enough Aleatory Talent can position you for greatness or leave you languishing in obscurity. The only true equality in the world is when that glowing message pops up at 8 years old. Even if it doesn't activate until you are an adult at 16 you still know. Sure you can find a new dungeon spawn and get another chance at a rare Talent, even this one, but you have to already be ready to delve into the *Far Wilds*, which is far easier with wealth or family power. This is the story of where my good fortune took me and the difference it made, even among a party of 7 others including an Arcanist. It is a journey of magic and monsters but also math, which some think is actually worse. Luckily I was born with Intelligence and Focus as my personal traits, and my parents were scholars. Of course Chronomancy can also be a frontline combat talent. Versitility well beyond other Elder Talents like Gravity, Abstraction, or Arcana. Might could have worked for me, too. I also met a runaway princess. All the best adventures have a princess. She hated being a noble and we didn't get married but it still counts. Besides she really filled out our front line. All that Leadership training came in handy. I still don't know where she's from. Who cares? How well Haste goes with giant hammers is what's important. I never learned much about anyone in the party, except the one I grew up with. I'm not a people person. I just wanted to optimize dungeon clearing time. *******Story Details******* No romance, politics, or traumatizing content, slice of life, or even dialogue. 1st person narration, like a guide/adventure log. 2000-7000 words a day, maybe 40-60% rpgish combat log with some reasoning on combat decisions, with the rest character Talent discussion and progression stuff. 8 person party with a decent variety in roles. Party members usually have 2 primary functions. Told from the support/control Chronomancer's perspective. Each party member will have 6 Basic/Background Traits, then 3 actual Talents with abilities. Capstone from their Educational Institution, Arbritrary as a gift from the temples, and Aleatory which is decided at birth, revealed at 8, and activated after adulthood at 16. Aleatory Traits ignore requirements and are random why is why they are so important. They'll gain new Talents from finding Dungeons to consume in the *Wilds*. Mature dungeons in cities can provide *Challenges* to raise the Phase of a Talent, up to 3 times from 1 to 4. Each character will get to roughly 8 non-Trait Talents. Attributes come exclusive from Talents, are required by Talents, and provide various effects as well. I designed about 220 Talents with abilities, 4 in each of 4 phases. "Traits" are just Attribute stuff. I'm not sure how many will be detailed in the story, more than 100 for sure. I used Talents because I want to be free of the legacy of tabletop. Half those rules are just because of the limitations inherent in a pre-computer ttrpg. This story mostly uses combat Talents, although like 1/3 of the 220 are for crafting and other society and economy stuff. If you really wanted to be a Thief you might take Intuition, Awarness, and Might for Basic Traits and Deftness, Manipulation, and Trickery for Family/Education. Then you'd pick Acrobatics, and Climbing for Educational Capstone and Arbitrary traits. You Aleatory Trait might be Shadow(Light/Dark) Magic, Umbramancy. A Bard might swap Dexterity for Charisma, Music for Acrobatics, and have gotten Illusion(Shadow/Sound(Air/Force)) for their Aleatory Trait.
