《Monarch of Alchemy》5. Alchemy of Heavan's Path

The way out of the Heavenly Garden was so easy, he just had to imagine it and he was straight out of it.
In the Heavenly Garden, one can go anywhere with the mind, monitor any place from anywhere, move any object, or telepathy with anyone in it. He could also do it all from the outside as long as he held the Heavenly Garden Ring.
All of this is done purely through the mind, without using its own spiritual power.
An ignorant person would find nothing even if they used a divine gaze, it would only appear like an ordinary ring.
According to Xia Xinghe, the current area of the Heavenly Garden from west to east is about 1000 kilometers, but that is only because the Heavenly Garden is in its weakest state.
In order to increase its strength, it was enough to fill it with Spiritual Plants and Beasts, the more it was, the more spacious the Heavenly Garden would become. The extent of its extent was unknown even to her.
After exiting, he entered the cultivation room.
There were strange lines on the walls of the room, and there was also something like a cup connected to those lines.
On it, written, (insert Spiritual Stone here.)
These so-called Spiritual Stones were the most common currency, they possessed energy that could be a source of energy for Formations and Artifacts or Weapons, and even replenish the body's energy.
Yi Yun had ten Low Grade Spiritual Stones, he took out one, it looked like a pearl with a faint radiance.
He put it in the cup.
*Buzz*
The stone suddenly melted, the lines on the wall then flashed and a stream of mist appeared out of nowhere.
"This should be a formation right? Is it safe to cultivate here?" Yi Yun asked.
The stream of mist was clearly spiritual energy that was concentrated in a large amount because Yi Yun felt an extremely comfortable sensation the moment it touched his body.
“This is an Independent Formation, so no one controls it, no one will know what you are doing here,” Xia Xinghe replied.
"Good..."
There was a pillow there, apparently used for sitting. Yi Yun sat on the pillow before starting to open the book. He also took out the Merit Law from the sect in order to see the difference.
There is no chapter list, the first page directly describes cultivation methods.
Yi Yun read slowly, the words were simple, but so profound that he had to be careful to understand them.
Cultivation starts from the Houtian realm which is divided into nine stages, Xiantian three stages, Core Formation three stages, then Nascent Soul, Spiritual Transformation, Sage, Sovereign, and Saint, which was very profound before Monarch through the Heaven's Path and Saint Immortal after going through the Four Stages of the Saint Path.
In Houtian First Stage, condensing one spiritual essence. Can be up to 3 spiritual essences but requires better resources and Merit Law.
More was naturally better, and that was true for Alchemists too because it wasn't just about having more energy, it was also about increasing potency.
Alchemy of Heaven's Path is a Merit Law that can condense up to 3 transparent spiritual essences in the First Stage of the Houtian Realm.
Matters regarding Alchemy such as how to refine pills, from regulating the temperature of the fire, concocting ingredients, or cultivating plants, healing wounds, this Merit Law had a very profound way compared to the sect's Merit Law.

However, they weren't the only ones it had, there were two things the sect's Merit Law lacked.
The first is a way to control Spiritual Plants.
Using the word Spiritual, Spiritual Plants naturally had power, they were just like cultivators who absorbed spiritual energy to increase their level. Their only drawbacks were that they didn't have the human intelligence that the Plant Demons had and they also didn't have the fighting instincts that the Spiritual Beasts had.
Because of those two things, even though they had strength, they couldn't do anything about it so they were no different from ordinary plants.
But with the Alchemy of Heaven's Path, he was able to control them.
Although their strength might not be comparable to those of cultivators who were indeed trained to fight, if he could control several of them, fighting a single enemy wouldn't be too difficult.
“This is a very rare method, and of course, the other methods won't be as good as the Alchemy of Heavan's Path method,” Xia Xinghe explained.
As for the second.
(The cauldron is my heart, my heart created the cauldron for me.)
(Something created from the heart is the strongest thing, it cannot be destroyed as long as the heart is still there.)
Those were its opening words.
After he read the contents, Xia Xinghe said, "Every cauldron is made of extremely strong materials. In theory, cauldrons can still be used for combat, such as to withstand enemy attacks. However, with the strength of the Alchemists being weak, they will run out of energy very quickly if they try to control their cauldrons in such a manner.
"The cauldron from the heart is different, it was created from you which means a part of yourself, controlling it is as easy as controlling your own mind. You can use it to fight, and in refining pills, from the side of the cauldron, you will reach perfection? It's even better than an Innate Weapon/Artifact because the latter is just a heavenly gift while the former is your own Dao."
"But how does the heart create the cauldron?" Yi Yun was a bit confused even though there was an explanation of how to do it. The problem was too complex, it couldn't be understood with just words.
"Don't use the logic of your world in the Dao. This is a world where anything is possible, everything comes from nothing, with the deepest method, creating something from nothing is possible."
"Then besides the cauldron, is there anything else the heart can create?"
"Yeah, with different methods and means, you can create things like swords, spears and such. They're very powerful and scary. But I don't have a method to create them, I don't even know if there is a method to create them at an early stage like this cauldron. Normally, it's only done by peak experts. However, instead of pursuing something that is uncertain, wouldn't it be better to use this Alchemy of Heavan's Path. With this, you can continue to refine great pills that can help you break through and even improve your talent. In other words, this path will allow you to move forward even with a very poor starting talent."
Yi Yun nodded.
This was indeed what suits him best.
"But, it should still be possible to take a few different paths, right?"
"Through cultivating a Celestial Body or Celestial Soul as the previous man said is an easier way than cultivating the two paths in Energy Cultivation. Even if you can do it, you need more effort to maximize its full potential."

"I see."
Apart from those two things, there were still a few other things that were different with the sect's Merit Law. However, they could only be studied in higher realms.
Celestial Body and Celestial Soul could only be cultivated when he was in the Core Formation realm for the former and Nascent Soul for the latter.
The reason for that was because the energy of the Transparent Spiritual Essence was extremely weak, unless they were with a special body, they could only start cultivating the Celestial Body when they were in the Core Formation Realm. And not all Celestial Body Cultivation Techniques were compatible with Transparent Spiritual Essence, only certain techniques were specially developed.
Because his body was an ordinary body, so the Alchemy of Heavan's Path wrote he could only start cultivating the Celestial Body when he reached the Core Formation Realm.
Cultivating a Celestial Soul was even more difficult, it was the same for all humans no matter what type of Spiritual Essence they were except for those with special souls, but it was something that was extremely rare among humans.
“Then is there a difference in strength between Energy Cultivation, Celestial Body Cultivation, and Celestial Soul Cultivation?”
"Energy Cultivation is the most commonly used, but each has its own advantages and disadvantages. I have prepared an extremely powerful Celestial Body and Celestial Soul Cultivation Technique for you, wait until you can cultivate them, I will tell you.”
"Mm…” Yi Yun nodded.
"Anyway, I'm going to cultivate now," he said.
He then took out the pill the sect gave him.
It was shaped like a bird's egg and emitted a sweet fragrance like wine.
The Awakening Pill was needed before one could cultivate because ordinary humans had a hard time integrating with spiritual energy and needed the help of pills as a first step.
Of course, it is only for ordinary Merit Law, Alchemy of Heaven's Path is different.
Yi Yun did not directly use the pill, he first self-taught cultivation following the instructions written by Alchemy of Heaven's Path.
At this moment, the mist in the room began to move towards him, it entered his body, making him feel a chilling sensation all over his body.
'So this is what cultivation feels like,' he said to himself.
Even though he was unable to peer into his body, he could feel the energy flowing into his heart, to be more precise into the space hidden within the heart, that was called the Heart Space. And that is the first condition that a human being can be said to have the potential to become a cultivator.
Even though it was present from birth, it usually only opened when a human was 16 years old, therefore, the majority of humans could only cultivate at the age of 16.
When he began to absorb spiritual energy, the existence of that space was very clear within his body, he felt as if he could see what was within that space.
Within there, energy is processed to create spiritual essence.
However, at the same time, he quickly realized what ordinary talent was. The energies he absorbed into his Heart Space mostly failed to process and they scattered outwards before disappearing.
"Ohhh, what a pity," Xia Xinghe said.
“I don't feel bad,” Yi Yun replied casually.
He looked at the pill again.
After taking a deep breath, he put it in his mouth.
The taste turned out to be quite comfortable, so he easily swallowed it.
But it didn't reach his stomach, it stopped at his chest.
Even though it was quite strange, he didn't feel any discomfort even though his presence was very clearly felt in his chest.
Now all he needed to do was absorb the energy contained within. It's easier because the energy is so much and subtle.
Over time and little by little the purified energy began to fill his Heart Space. It felt comfortable enough that he began to enjoy cultivating it, causing him to be oblivious with the passage of time.
After he wasn't sure how many hours had passed, a sudden feeling of hunger rose in his stomach leaving him with no other choice but to open his eyes.
"How long?" He said with a little surprise.
The mist in the room had dissipated and the air was a little chilly.
"You've cultivated for 12 hours," Xia Xinghe replied, making him even more shocked.
He looked at his own body. Right now, he felt even stronger than before.
The pill in his chest was clearly shrinking, but it was far from being used up.
"Looks like I've absorbed 7 percent of the pill's energy."
“If you use this sect's Merit Law, you will probably only be able to absorb 2 or 3 percent in these 12 hours.”
"Yeah, but I'm feeling really hungry right now, doesn't cultivation solve this problem?"
“You haven't even become a cultivator, and even if you did become one, you would still starve until you reach the Core Formation Realm.”
"Oh, I see!"
Yi Yun then stood up. His body was sweating, he saw a lot of dirt coming out of his skin.
He came out of the room and wondered if the sect had sent food to his residence. Through several gaps in the wall, he saw that the sky was now dark and so full of stars that it looked like there was a galaxy above.
'Maybe it's outside,' he thought. He opened the door and immediately found a large enough food storage in front of his door, it was just placed there. It has writing on it, (put this back here after you finish eating.)
He picked it up and immediately opened it, his eyes shining brightly when he saw what was inside the food storage.
A large bowl of rice, a roast beef leg, a fried duck, a large bowl of soup, a bottle of wine, and two bottles of water.
"They give so much food, is this what life is like in the sect?" he said.
He thought to himself, 'and they even gave wine to a 16 year old.' Yi Yun didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
"Your food consumption will definitely increase, people who want to look civilized usually prefer to consume a Food Pill," Xia Xinghe replied. "Come on, come in here."
"Why?" Yi Yun was a little confused.
"Don't you want to share with me?"

The Bronze Players of Recreation
The world of Creation has seen a recent explosion of what can only be called an adventurer’s culture over the past few decades. People who were once looked at as nothing more than lower class mercenaries rose to the ranks of heroes and legends as adventuring became recognized as an idealized lifestyle of overcoming hardship and finding triumph. With the establishment of a guild-based government system on the continent of Terramania, adventurers were soon legitimized and adventuring became a phenomenon universally accepted around the world. Redlette had retreated from this world to live on Earth for the remainder of her years, having been born and outcast by the gods of Creation. However, upon meeting a friend that she treasured dearly, she found herself longing for a return to her world—she wanted to experience it properly and go on adventures with someone whom she holds dear. Putting a plan into action, she meets with her friend, an awkward, nerdy boy by the username of Herring who she’d only known through years of playing online games with him, and invites him to go on this fantastic adventure with her. An adventure in another world had always been an impossible dream for Herring, but when he suddenly found himself with the opportunity to embark on one, he knew it wouldn’t be as simple as books and shows made it out to be. Redlette was notorious for rushing into things without thinking them through, and he was flighty and weak. In the games they played together, they rarely grasped victory. They were losers through and through, both in hobby and life. Despite this, though, he takes the leap and sets off with Redlette into the world of Creation. Together they only had one goal: to have fun and go on the adventure of their lives. This time, they’d establish a guild of their own and be free to take on whatever exploits their hearts desired. This is the story of the founding of their guild. Author’s Notes: -My writing style is largely based off of the absurd amount of light novels I’ve read and anime I’ve watched, so it may come off as cartoonish or exaggerative at times. If that isn’t your thing, I’d steer clear of this story.-Not an MMO story.-No numerical stats.-Relatively slow pacing.-Posts are between 2000-5000 words weekly after Chapter 1.
