《Master of All Trades》Breakfast Part 2
Advertisement
Once breakfast was over the children would help out with the cleaning of the meal they had just eaten. The older ones would first help the younger ones out of their seats to then clean their faces or any mess they made. They would then organize the plates in piles that were stacked high, to only be carried in their small arms to the washroom. There they would also help with the cleaning of said plates and once finished had to start their morning lessons.
In the church of Inmari, their teachings would be taught in the morning as a sign of respect to the god that blesses the early stages of life. The children learn the meaning behind a passage in the book of the church and are required to memorize the teachings that they learn. Even the youngest among them could remember a dozen passages with ease. Some would repeat the words of their god with pride while others with simple indignation.
Raphael was one of the few that felt completely neutral to the aspect of a god. He gave no meaning or thought to the words he memorized and would only mindlessly spit them back out when it was requested. To him, the idea of a god was no longer an idea that hung on faith but was something that could be proven with the world he inhabited. He wanted to first understand why he was reincarnated, and why only a few memories of his past self had survived the journey to this new world.
It was the most prominent question that clung to the sides of his head day in and night out. After the morning lessons would be free time, where he could spend most of his time with leisure, but he would rather practice the little he knew. He found it more productive to be outside in a secluded area to practice the magic he knew instead of being stuck in the stiffness of his room that he shared with the rest.

With deep breaths, Raphael sat near a small pond, inhaling the chilly air. The sound of the surrounding wildlife was more soothing than annoying to the young boy as he felt it helped in understanding the power he is trying to master. As far as he knew there were several different types of magic in this world. From the limited books that were related to the church, only the most basic of magic books were available.
From them, Rapheal concluded that there were a total of six 'elements' that could be manipulated by the will of the user. The first four are fire, water, earth, and wind, which have simple meanings that can be found in the world around. However, there were the light and dark elements that were shrouded in mystery and a nature that attracted the two.
"Water bullet." So Raphael continued on with his practice, with the element he felt the easiest to manipulate thus far. He had read that adding names to spells would make it easier to focus on specific details that would bring about the proper result. As of now, every four out of ten water bullets would come out successful. He did not try anything new because he desired to master at least one spell to prove his worth, even though it was only to himself.
"Come on!" His frustration grew as with each passing spell his accuracy would deviate further from the intended target. With heavy pants, he sat down with sweat dripping from his forehead, so in order to calm himself, he sat cross-legged and began to take in deep breaths once more. Without his knowledge of what he was doing, Raphael entered a meditative state where his emotions that restricted him became nothing less than a memory. His frustration began to lose its meaning while his affinity with water grew.

The beads of water began to move from his head and began to follow the path that swirled around his head. It formed a small river that fed into itself but compared to before, Raphael would soon realize his mistake.
Owoooooooo! The howling of an animal echoed through the small forest. "Agghh." Shortly after screams of people followed the ear screeching howl. Raphael was thrown out of his mediation and soon worry grew on his face, but for some unknown reason, his feet began to move towards the terrifying sounds that would have sent any child running. But, Raphael wasn't a child, he did not know what he was but he felt that a piece of the puzzle was clicking into place.

Serenity of the Crow
Fena can’t die. To most, this might be considered a blessing. To others, a curse. Fena doesn’t really care what other people call it: for her, it’s reality. She’s content to keep her head down while working for the Mercenary Guild, but a new contract arrives that threatens to drag her back to a past she wants nothing to do with. Haunted by her own thoughts and a crow that never seems to shut up, Fena is caught between confronting her past and preventing it from ever happening again. Indigo is alone. Her adopted mother is gone, and the witch that never gets her pronouns right is currently the most popular researcher at the Royal Academy. Worse still, she suddenly finds herself with shoes to fill that are so enormous they’re more like a swimming pool, while that same witch flaunts a research project that could get them all killed. With the expectations of her entire sect weighing on her like a lead weight, will Indigo sink or swim? Can she stop the White Witch’s project before it’s too late? Or will the twisted politics of the Royal Academy prove too much? This is my first published story, so hopefully it goes well! I welcome constructive criticism, and I'd love to hear your thoughts and theories about where the story is headed! WARNINGS:This story contains references to depression, anxiety, panic attacks, self-harm, sexual abuse and manipulation. I WILL mark trigger warnings on the chapters that contain such content, but read at your own risk. Additionally there will be plenty of violence and gore but I promise to put it to good use. Souls of Savagery
Souls of Savagery is a series of short stories intended to function much like a comic book series. However, to experience the complete story in a logical order you should read the volumes in numerical order, starting of course, with Volume 1: A Bloodbath by Any Other Name. Each volume is told from a single point of view and that will change from volume to volume. Though, the narrative will require later volumes to return to characters that have been featured previously. I hope you enjoy.
