Chapter 7- Bob The God
Hello, it's me Ray. I am currently gathering all of my discoveries into a record book made out of, you guessed it, wood. Technology in the West it seems is behind a lot of other nations, according to Ted at least. If you're wondering who Ted is, he's the 'Dark Avenger', after the commotion yesterday with him I decided to give him an easier name. Not without multiple complaints mind you, easily solved with Maya's influence though.
...
"You will be called Ted and you will like it!"
"Please, No, NOOOOOO!"
...
I actually felt sorry for him a little, but for now the village and Ted are under my thumb, which brings me to my more immediate worries... I still can't get home...
Ray sighed and leaned back on the chair covering his eyes with the back of his hand. "The logout button doesn't work, i tried reporting a bug but it did absolutely nothing....what if I can't get back..."
...
Getting up from his table, Ray decided to go outside to get some fresh air. "Mmmm, it'll be fine. I shouldn't over think it and just enjoy the game." As he exited the house, he noticed Maya and Ted standing outside, a blank look on their faces.
"Hey, you two. What's up?" Ray smiled cheerfully as he walked up to the two, but only received the same blank look and their silence. In fact, there was silence everywhere. The hell?
The world, it seemed, had stopped moving. The goblins were locked in their working poses and even the environment around had stopped moving. "Not even the leaves are moving..is this some sort of magic?"
"At least you have some brains, just need to fix that attitude and you might be tolerable." a voice that Ray hadn't heard in a long, long time resonated throughout the village and with a bright flash of light, a familiar old man dressed in white floated downwards from the treetops.

"...You.."
"The name's Bob, it's not that difficult you know."
"Why should I remember the name of the one who got me in this mess!"
Ray could only glare at the cocky old man whilst the old man merely ignored him. "That is a thing of the past, much as I hate you, I have made a grave mistake and I am here to apologize."
Ray, with cocked eyebrows, could only fold his arms and stare at this old man. "...I'm listening."
Bob gave a shy smile and bowed to Ray. "You have my thanks. You know, not many people get to have a god apologize and bow to them, consider yourself lucky."
"Yeah, yeah. Get on with it, we both know you didn't come for small talk."
"Well, I'm not sure if you knew but I am known in this world as Bob the god. I rule over all forms of life and recently I made a deal with your world to send heroes to this world."
"...Excuse me?"
Bob with a sigh and a whirl of his cane looked at Ray. "My world is...difficult to take care of. Despite the relative peace that you may have noticed in the west. It is not the same everywhere."
"Wait, wait. Hold on, I have so many questions. This is going way too fast."
"..Perhaps, we should get your questions over with first. I'll explain what I require you to do next after."
"Ok, so first off. This world is real!?"
"Yes, it's very real. This is a real world in an alternate plane from yours. By getting your side to make a 'game' we used it as a conduit to bring people like you over. It was not easy mind you, whenever one of you comes over, you are leaving your body behind to live inside one of this world's creation."

"Ok...that is a lot to take in.."
"Yes well, I wouldn't expect much of a human to understand such matters."
"Ok, fine. So according to what you said, Maya and the goblins are real life people living in this world. But that means those people I killed..."
"Yes...they were real."
The heavy weight of guilt came over Ray, this wasn't a simple game anymore, it was real. "So, if this is a real world and the players have real bodies. What happens if they die."
"Nothing to worry about. The bodies are simply gone and we get the person to create a new one, effectively resetting his progress. But in that lies our problem with you..."
"...From what I gather, I didn't actually create a body and I'm using my original one..."
"...Yes, I apologize with all my heart. But if you die, you're dead..."
Damn..that hit hard..
...
"So I'm basically bleeped is that it."
"In a sense yes, there is a way out though."
"What way!? Tell me!"
"Well, you become a god."
"...Excuse me?"
"Gods are immortal and can freely traverse between realms, lots of good stuff with the position too. The path to become on though is as difficult as you can imagine."
"...Hit me with your best shot."
"Well, you see. I used to be a human in this world, but through acts of extreme valor I was able to ascend and become a god. The requirements of becoming a god is to do great feats never done before or surpassing that of old gods. "
"..."
"However, it's not like you need to do it yourself. You can seek help from others and perform a feat worthy of becoming a god. As to what is considered great, it must be something all four continents acknowledge as a great feat."
"...So old man, what did you do."
"Well, you know the cultists of the north? They are actually the last survivors of a civilization I destroyed. They were dabbling with things the gods deemed unholy, raising the dead, summoning demons and even creating false god-beings. So, I sorta killed them and became a god!"
Ray coughed and slammed his fist on the table. What kind of half-assed setting is that!!!
"Yes, so that's what happened, so if you want to return to your world. That is the only way I know of."
"...I understand, sort of. Now can I ask something of you Bob? Can you at least remove this curse you've placed on me?"
"Oh, uh...so you see. There comes another problem..I can't..because I still sort of uh...hate you..."
"Are you kidding me!?!?! So the only reason this curse is here is because you still hate me!?!"
"Uh, um, oh look at the time. A god has to work you know! See ya!"
In another blinding flash of light, Bob disappeared from Ray and time began to move normally. Ray could only stand there, blankly staring into the sky with his two companions staring at him.
"Um, Ray is there something wrong?"
"DAAAAAAMN YOU BOBBBBBBBB!!!"

8 155Ravyn's Nights - Book 3
Claire's life led her to love. Love led her to death. Death began her eternal struggle to retain both her love and her humanity through 5 centuries of endless nights. Book 3 covers the 19th century. "Ravyn's Nights" is a six book series, with each book covering a different century. Book 6 was actually started first, and it takes place in the near future, bringing the story to a final conclusion. I then started writing the rest of the series when I decided that I wanted to share the details of the life that made her into who she is in Book 6. At the time of posting the first chapter of the series, books 1-2-3 are completed and books four, five and six are in various states of completion. There is currently a novella following a side character that does include a few crossover chapters featuring the main character. The novella will be included in the completed versions of books 4 and 5.

8 118Rage: Crisis / Consequence / ???
Its been ten years since Seth was given his powers, ten years since his town was driven mad by that very same power, and ten years since its source was shunted into his head. A species of energy beings, a people filled with regret for what their entrance onto this world caused. Regret for the deaths that town perpetuated, the devastation they brought, the blow they served to the once proud heroes of this world. Heroes Seth now hopes to join, hopes to heal and atone to for what transpired. But their wounds run deep, their ire sharp, and their acceptance thin. And to top it all off... Seth's power is run far deeper than he knows, and sees his world in a light all its own. This series is my first foray into authoring, with two parts out of at best four if the readership stands. But part three will still book end nicely otherwise. And I'm not stopping till then. It is action heavy with varied and ramping up fight scenes through out. (Book 1 is heavy / Book 2 a little lighter) It is bloody in places, mildly gory in others, and heavily gory in simulated places. Nothing truly horrifying, I think, but be warned. It has trauma. PTSD is a major part of the story, but I will never trust that I got it completely right, so your mileage may vary on how believable or impactful it is. Lastly it has language. Swearing ebbs and flows as the story progresses and attitudes harden or soften. Sometimes bleeding through into the narration... somehow.
