《Holders》014: Incandescence

Intensity continues to press on as time progresses. Both stood still without moving atleast a finger--- just staring into each other, waiting for an initiation. The quiet crossroad became the witness into their battle, and soon as the last breath whistles, Kazuto engaged the first strike.
Dashing in a full speed, he was vaguely visible the moment he got near.
"Pyro Vestige: Overload."
Followed it by a horizontal sway leveled from the chin, the tip of his blade emanated a glow which proceed drawing a fire blast which resembles the way he carves it into the atmosphere. Howbeit, the first offensive didn't reach even a strand of his hair as he had already foreseen the execution, thus tilted his body to the left side smoothly beforehand.
"What."
Still going into the offensive, a fast switch of a heel kick, associated with a reverse roundhouse is assumed to hit him out of balance and kick him unconscious. Rine then reflexively leaped above his leg, avoiding the attack. Also dealing with the follow-up, he intentionally dropped his body to be crouched after the previous strike, thus able to retaliate by pulling an uppercut kick that made struck solid into his chin.
Knocking him away with his own steps out of balance, Kazuto's lip squirted a small splat of blood. Thought it may have Interrupted further assaults, the single strike still cuts payback given on Rine's current shape.
Despite it, Never in the slightest he showed the pain, but muttered to himself. "I shouldn't have done that."
Blood continues to leak into Kazuto's lip each second. He wasn't expecting that Rine could pull such strike while trapped in the rear. Not to mention his reflexes which is unbelievably faster than he thought.
"Say. You're also a born fighter, don't you?" Kazuto called.
"Fighter... Heh. Pointless query." he stoically smirked. "I am not one of your kind which devoted themselves just to seek an overwhelming power. I am more superior then you are, because we're cut in a different cloth."
Expressed a mocked grin after wiping off the bleeding, Kazuto replied. "Such bravado, but this'll be your endpoint."
He pointed his sword leveled into his head as he carries it with both arms while lowering his waist, forming a stance. It is associated by a sudden rush that aims to charge in heavy force towards his opponent's direction.
Standing still, Rine murmured...
"My turn."
At a spur of moment before the tip reaches his polo, time went slower into Rine's vision. This opportunity became a stepping stone for a retaliation as he rotates his body to the right. Kazuto soon noticed what's to come after his charge missed that accords to his plan to surprise attack by releasing the blade from his left arm and follow him by his right hand holding the weapon attempting cut his head off through a spin. He is just in time to execute in that method, but somehow, this nimbleness of Rine prevented his reaction to proceed.
"Ah--"
Soon he realized his footing collapsed from a kick just behind his knee, but at the right time managed to regain it back by piercing the ground with his blade, and stopped crashing into it.
"What just happened?" he mumbled to himself. "The time's just fine for me to take him for a surprise assault, but this man just halted my movements."
Rine turned his gaze onto his baffled state. "You are probably confused on certain things, but let me clear this out... "
He then pointed directly into his eyes while those golden eyes emits an immense glow. "You are far weaker than my being."

Kazuto's head slowly lowered. "Weak, you say..." then a hysterical chuckle bursted out of his mouth. "Gahahahahaha!"
"A lone Holder like you, badmouths a Herald!? That's fucking hilarious!" Kazuto's laughter intensified to the point that he held his belly.
"You know nothing about us! Nor you could par with mine!"
His left hand balled. "As of now, I haven't showed you my utmost power yet, so consider the previous act as your headstart all you want!" then a huge amount of mana amassed into his palm. "Because I'll be all out now!"
Embers originated into his exposed palm as it accumulates a totally searing energy from the atmosphere. The heat from world basked into the sun, embers scattered around a wide range vicinity, and even a portion of body heat compressed into his grasp, until an conflagrating flame formed between his fingers.
Then shouted the words as he pinches it out into ashes. "Infinite Holocaust!"
The moment it burst out of his hand was blinding in both of their views. That sudden beam of Illumination covered almost entirely his body and half of the area as if an eruption is about to blast beneath their feet. Soon as the light fades, he was tainted by his own fire. The mana surging behind his guise is burning that even his sleeves and Robe turn into ashes.
Ground started to crack bit by bit as followed with the sudden rise of temperature of the wind which source is Kazuto himself. His presence makes the temperatures high enough to slowly boil anyone's lungs that every breath Rine inhales feels like scorching hot, and which harshly took a toll into his condition.
"Puny Holder, rejoice as you will have the privilege to be tormented by my embers!"
Though Rine refused to show his emotions and sauntered instead.
"Tormented. Do you really think this lousy area control could take me down?" he replied.
Kazuto's smile became wider and more twisted as he gets mocked and mocked by his words. "Yes, Yes! Mock me all you want!"
The longing for an opponent that could be his equal revolved into his minds for year of passing. Countless battles occured with him present that resulted into a guaranteed victory due to his unrivaled power amongst his peers. Though time flies and his bloodlust turned upside down, and so drove him into this state as a true rival showed amidst his search. However, he completely missed something that is obvious.
Unsheating his blade which is now with an added supplement of the Vestige, Kazuto's grip delivered it forward once again.
"No man had me down. And so is you!" and so his onslaught has begun.
A swift spur dashed amidst the scorching winds as he wield his blade singlehandedly. Temperature dramatically increased around Rine's vicinity, which made it more harder to breathe for him, yet emotionlessly carried on without even a slightest hint of suffering.
"Pyro Vestige: Embers of Wither!" His blade suddenly glows up into a rod hot surface and so rises its heat threefold from the normal. Those showed signs of embers popping out of the air and creates a path of flames from where it originates. It is more like the previous Vestige he unchained, but is upgraded due to the area conditions.
His arm frenzied as he swipe and swing his sword trailed with ignited embers into aiming for plentiful strikes to grind Rine down. Though, nothing changed; still eluded the series of attacks chasing him upfront.
Still pushing it forward, Kazuto's assault continued to press on. "I'm not done yet!"

Withdrawing his blade by shifting its tip against the ground, another offensive move Raines down into Rine's path. "Fox Fires!"
Two Elemental Foxes of a small size formed above the ground, pouncing and clawing back and forth. Their whole body is composed of Molten pebbles covered by a raging flame shaped as an animal, that could burn one's leg to the bone.
"Come on! Retaliate!" Kazuto felt he is in the upper hand which is factual given by Rine's state. Seconds progressed by his attacks, one of his summons gashed Rine's left waist, that immediately inflicted a crawling burn that resulted into a portion of his flesh cooked.
"..." He fell silent while hitting the floor, yet his expression appears like he felt nothing at all.
"How does it feel to be burned? Painful, Is it? " his face stretched for a chuckle.
"..." Rine didn't respond, but stood up.
Somehow, him hanging with no response felt aggravating. "Hey, Answer me."
But he's still failed from convincing for a reply as he slowly tapped out the dust sticking to his cloths like nothing happened, despite those grievous injuries.
One of the foxes climbs upon his shoulder when he followed it by a face full of disappointment.
"Why don't answer me? Or are you already gone mad because you've already realized your defeat?"
"I already gave my response. " Rine shouted back.
"---You did? You said nothing!"
He then nod his head. "Exactly it is."
A small pause passed. Kazuto's right hand could be seen balled deriding beside his leg.
"You... You and your Provocation somehow infuriates me."
"That's no Provocation. I stated the truth you wish to hear." replied Rine as he shrugs off which greatly increased Kazuto's stress.
"Now you've done it!" He strongly gave pressure to his balled hands. Followed by a rain of falling embers, Kazuto's vexation heatens up the stage.
"I can't take this mockery anymore..." hence his sword face forward once again, but now fueled with his Fury. "Prepare your passing at once!"
The tip faced forward, his guise blinked just between Rine's eyes at a speed tripled from the previous. A centimeter from his forehead to hole up his head, Rine still got the chance to speak out.
His lips moved. "What an open book." thus his presence vanished at a spur before the weapon touches his skin.
"Wha---" Kazuto's eyes widened from the unexpected move. His eyes couldn't react with his elusive capabilites, and is about to withdraw his blade halfway. Yet from his right, he have seen a glimpse of a person in a stance of unsheathing a formless blade. The time he shifted his gaze, it is already gone, hence soon he noticed the air hitting his chest, and so he felt it bleeding the moment he touched.
His thoughts baffled as he looked behind him, only to see Rine, drawing back a nonexistent katana back while his other hand forms a ring as its Imaginary vessel. Soon both of his hand made contact as if he wields a weapon at the beginning.
"Your Pride has completely blocked your vision." Rine whispered looking directly at his front.
"What just happened? I failed to sense that coming." Kazuto whispered to himself. Though, it inflicted a deep wound, he was able to disregard it and carry on.
Completely seeing the full view behind him, Kazuto's mouth uttered a sort of spell. "Devil's Boots!"
By that, Flames Scattered succumbing his lower half--- from the toes to his knees. Every step he slams into the ground causes an unexplainable trails of crawling fires onto the ground. However, it is more than that.
Scrubbing his left leg from the surface as it forms a crescent kindle mark, Kazuto suddenly sprung off away from his spot with increasing speed. In the direction which Rine stood steady, he swayed the steel blade to create an Arc shaped of Projectile first to hit the enemy before him, but still, it is no good to cut even a single strand of his white hair.
"Tsk." Biting his lip, yet still went forward, he used his right leg, now augmented with a spell to cast him like a spinning wheel to crash onward. By the power of the swing, it rises up his flight speed, and assumed if it goes for a perfect hit, Rine would undergo critical.
"Burn away with the rest!" Kazuto shouted Strongly against himself as he gets closer and closer while spinning through mid air.
Heed the call, Rine replied. "Not a chance." hence tumbles away from the hit point.
Now crashing himself into the ground, Kazuto halted the spin by putting his hand as the clutch while landing on it, with his legs bent over. Despite the his vision running wild due to the fast Rotation, he could still pin Rine's location clearly, so he swang his weapon forward for the follow up.
"I'm not finished yet!"
Using his augmented legs associated by his hand moving his blade, Every part of his body tries to reach even the surface of Rine's skin. Not able to stab him by the blade, he elevated his legs to throw three roundhouse kicks in a sequence.
His Movements continued forward while Rine remained Defensive in the process. Meanwhile, his arms are still bound from his injuries which he kept dodging sidewards clean as he avoids isolation into the rear once again.
"Do you really think you are an adversary of a Herald? You're still have far ways to go!" his Movements started accelerating over time. In an alternating strikes by his blade thrusting against his chest as it follows by a flaring kick after its withdrawal, Kazuto frenzied as he tries to dominate him in the battlefield. Rine couldn't take a hint of an opening due to the same reason, and so steadied evading his forward assault.
"I cannot see a single skill you are capable of, not even I know your identity. You have a great amount of Mana, yet it's thinner than mine. You cannot even perform a sequence of balanced fighting, just keeps dodging like a coward!" Kazuto continued speaking up while in the midst of his charge. The Fox Fire above his shoulder pounced, hence showed his claws off to Gash conflagration into his skin. Together with one on the ground, its target is his shin to collapse Rine's equilibrium.
However, even at this speed, Kazuto is not able to hit a single strike, nor his summons which is greatly agile for a fact.
Even so he continued to take him into a pinch through everything he has got, until it prepares the stage for a final blow.
Throwing his only weapon straightly towards Rine's right eyeball. Its entirety ablazes quickly in seconds, aims to struck him deeply and burn his whole body from the inside. Rine immediately swayed leftward, but soon realized it is a feint all along.
Kazuto crouched down, grabbing Rine by the waist. In the process, his right knee which consumed by the flames arisen to blast Rine's abdomen in contact.
"This is your end."
His knee went to met the surface as it bursted down a thick line of Sheer mana passing through him. With that, the battlefield once again engulfed by obscurity while the two steadied into the center; both not moving.
"Huff..." Kazuto could feels himself a little encumbered after that restless attack. His fingers grew numb since fifths of his mana was spent overall in that single blow. Huffing, but remained calm, Kazuto rested for a moment, inside the smoky condition surrounding him while remained slowly putting his elevated knee down. But soon he moves, somehow a force won't let him do so. Somehow, a thing is grappled into his kneecap, and so he realized it wasn't an abdomen he shot through.
"Impossible..." Kazuto suddenly gulped down after seeing a hand pushing against his knee cap.
Rine's arms recovered a tiny bit of strength while he prevents being beaten to stall time, healing. On the other hand, Kazuto whose both physical and magical condition detoriates draws an utterly shocked expression seen into his enlarged eyes frozen.
"Rants... I should be the one saying that by now." He forcefully tossed his knee, slamming into the grounds as he crash with it and releasing his grip from Rine's waist. For a short moment of astonishment kept him immobile, until so he realized the events, and so with his legs still dipped into the flames, he reversely bent himself by spinning his lower half while his head remained into the ground as the equilibrium. His left leg solidly hit Rine as he vaults down, tumbling towards his direction which induced a strong force and made him flung, but feet keeps intact as it crashes into the ground.
"Unbelievable... Totally Unbelievable!" Kazuto loudly exclaimed.
On his front, five meters away while struck unharmed from the recent blow, Rine bent his fingers each hand. "It seems you have missed a thing."
It is still not in good shape, but recovered its strength for a while back there. Rine continued warming it up as he saunters out of the mist. Despite its current look, deep inside he is confident that it's strength is enough for him to use.
"This cannot be... None of my records could withstand even a single one of my heavy blows!" Kazuto to look so stressed as drawn from his face. "Why are you still alive!"
From his palm, Rine shifted his gaze ahead, bound to be emotionless and answered. "Why, you say?" then suddenly, himself lifted his arm that sparks a clear glow of light. That light shone upon everything, and so illuminated the darkness which covers the entirety of his being.
His aura is transparent, but brightly bloomed behind his guise. It danced by his White hair that flaunters amongst everything. Glowing eyes tainted by Gold peers beneath his bangs as he continues: "I am the Lost Effigy, Rine Ishida." hence once again, a formbless blade was craved beyond the ethers.
Kazuto spaced out after hearing out everything. "Lost Effigy... No, you must be fooling me. "
It took long to recall such a name. He have met a lot of his fellow holders, mostly his killing objectives before, but it seems far relevant from any of them, not until that memory came up into his mind.
"You cannot be him! You two aren't even similar at any way!" Kazuto shouted to him, seems a portion of negativity has been showing up into his sour expression.
Rine continued to saunter. "If that is what you believe, so be it."
"But, may I ask..."
Pellucid shivs strides to the atmosphere, flinging in the enemy's directions as he slowly walks. All of it halted the moment it reach the nearest section of Kazuto's eyeball, as Rine followed. "Did he once showed someone his true power?" thus the moment Kazuto's blinks, Rine appeared facing him with a stoic stare.
"Wha--" Kazuto immediately reacted shockingly with his feet suddenly stepped away. Even looking directly into Rine's eyes is somehow difficult for him to do so.
"Such, Evil vibe... Just what are you?"
Rine grew near as he walks closer to him. "What are you expecting to see? A softhearted youth, yearning for love and peace?" one of his brows arose.
"This is a battlefield. This place dwells between life and death." and his apathetic eyes gleams as he gets near.
Kazuto soon snapped off his discomposure "Tch!"
By that same moment, he arose from the ground in a blink as he assaults Rine once more with his blade thrusted against his chest. The casted Area control still goes on and so ignite it wholefully, about to burst out whenever it meets the surface.
"Die!" he loudly exclaimed.
Rine, which stands on his way opened unfolded his fingers from the right hand. A fluctuating surge of energy fills up the whole arm as it deflects the blade with the back of his hand. Together with the immediate distinguishing of flames coating the steel, Kazuto is lucky enough to retain his grip from the weapon and so withdrawn fastly enough inside the sheath beforehand. Inside that pause, he was able to conjure a blasting whip into the other hand the same moment he swung the arm forward. Continuous snaps and sparks occured as it move through the embers of the winds given by the conditions. Every flicks acted as a bridge, thus lead to an endless, shrinking Spiral of Fire.
On the other hand, Rine took a deep breath inside the inevitable Spiral. Stretching his left arm up to the air, he chanted these words into the atmosphere:
"Abyssal Flicker."
The snaps which comes from the flame whip--- It's foundation suddenly collapses into their sparks as it accompanied by another variation of light eating its trails. Soon after consuming everything, Kazuto's Control followed its fall, and so freed of Rine's Difficulty in Respiration.
Kazuto's teeth heard gritting from his mouth as he hurls a flare by his palms. "Kindlespheres!"
Throwing the object after another became an endless quiver of flames that intends to track down his enemy's mana to infect its component until it burns the body. Though it may be a powerful technique, it somehow took a great toll on its Holder every use, and so Kazuto's encumber obviously shown into his sweating forehead.
The spheres scattered on every direction, attempting to seal Rine's escape routes to succession. Amidst, Rine saw him through despite his poor vision and muttered. "How foolish. You are losing massive amount of your own just for nothing but defeat!"
"Silence!" Kazuto riposted. "I'm still good to go!" then swiftly altered the contents of his hands with his blade.
Porting away the collision of the spheres beforehand, Rine escaped its chase, hence gathered all of them into one place by a trail he left and let it blast onto each other. Expecting things to happen on the other hand, Kazuto tightened his grip as if he advances a swing from the weapon. However, things didn't go smoothly, as Rine's abilities are far unique, and so as sharp as his predictions.
Anticipated his appearance from two o'clock, Kazuto engaged a single blade spin assumingly leveled into Rine's throat. Rine had saw it coming, yet never thought to dodge, instead received it openly bare handed, and so assured sealing it away from Kazuto's possession.
Rine kept his hand locked into the tip of his blade as the other guy pulls it away.
"Kk! I can't take it away!" thus no other choice, he gave up and released it.
Rine nonchalantly carried the blade by its tip. Aware enough that its the tip, he still holds it firmly by the grace of his Procure shielding his skin from being cut. He then threw it up into the air, spinning from its fall, hence caught it by the Grip.
Rine examined the blade; front and back. "Nothing special about, but this blade's light, Best for swift strikes and surprise retaliations. If you're just talented enough to do that. "
Kazuto's breathing became ragged than before. His stamina starts going down reaching the peak, but still has the strength to talk back.
"Shut up!" He riposted.
Rine shrugged stoically. "And what? What if I do not stop? You couldn't even land a single strike after the last time I let you."
"Shut up!" Kazuto retorted once again.
"Then make me. It's easy for you to do that, don't you think? " Rine taunted him while he points the sword against its owner.
Kazuto never left a reply, but his body rushed forward as two flaming spheres on his left, and a dense amount of kindleknives from his right hand formed to take the offense once again.
"Grrrrr!" a growl buzzes out of his mouth while he moves forward. He has already lost cool long enough that he came to the point to recklessly attack Rine without any plans. Such a great advantage for him.
"Reckless, but too slow." Rine pointed the sword forward once again as if he achieves the stance of fencing in spite of the characteristic of the weapon.
Kazuto is somehow intruiged, but he didn't show even the slightest hint of it on his expression. The Spheres remained in his hands for a while until he hits four meters away, and so hurled it at once.
"Kindlesphere: Prometheus!"
Both of the spheres were separated from its origin the moment he threw it straightly. It moves far slower for a missile at the first glance, but soon as it propels each second, it bursts in more speed to the point that it is undetectable by the naked eye. Amidst of the acceleration, both intertwines into another object in a Form of another sphere, but carries particles of which is capable of melting even a lone structure on its own.
"I will take you to hell in an instant!"
The knives on his other hand stayed in there for a while until the moment it's distance closes up on Rine. On the right moment, he slung it from his fingertips to pop it off and scatter the remaining particles into the air, causing a chemical reaction as soon it gets contact with the Oxygen.
"Die!"
The kindleknives flung with double the speed of the sphere. It passes through the layers of the atmosphere until it reached the core of the sphere and blasted out all the remaining particles surroundings.
"So, was this the extent of your 'great' power?" Rine murmured, but is enough to reach Kazuto.
He waited for seconds, but remained unanswered as Kazuto decided to give him a cold shoulder.
"Hah... You're hopeless." Rine sighed deeply from being ignored as he stands still, aware of the trouble trapping him inside. Each second passing could be the detonation of everything that surrounds his being, but he chose to stand steady until the moment of truth comes.
And so he whispers to himself. "I guess I should take my turn..."
From fencing, into an utterly different stance, Rine's knees bent as he draws back the sword into his waist, forming a stance of a Japanese swordsman.
He closes his eyes as Mana brews up into the entirety of its blade from his hand until it consumes it whole. It charges up thoroughly into the weapon, and at its release, as if the atmosphere has been perfectly cut like a mere glass.
Hence, his emotionless voice casted the spell. "Lightsplitter."
None of his hands ever move, but a flurry of swings pulverized everything around him. Nothing was left behind floating through--- Almost nothing escapes his field of vision.
"L-Light?" A jaw breaking moment struck Kazuto solid. He could hardly utter the words he is supposed to, and his eyes stayed en widened for a long pause. Somehow, another memory unfolds inside his thoughts which enshrouded him for a long time, and so this truth recalled it back.
"He wasn't lying... That Spell spoke the truth." Kazuto mumbled to himself.
Rine which remained standing while Carries the blade lying into his waist drew it out once more. "So you've finally realized your defeat. Thought you'll play blind before I end this."
"Mock me all you want, but this will be the last time you'll trick me, Effigy." Kazuto retorted back.
Suddenly, determination courses into his nerves. A berserk smile carves between his face for another time with his flames swarming into his right fist. The fruit of Kazuto's hardships for the past year will be challenged once again by the first person to give him the first taste of failure.
"I won't make the same mistake again." Kazuto brushed the ground with his Blazing legs sprinting towards his direction. On his left hand, he drew out the whip once again as it connects the dot which extended its length as if It will wraps Rine at the same time.
Suddenly, Rine vanished before his eyes when the whip soon contracts at the middle. Kazuto reeled it back to his stead associated by his right legs scrubbed the floor upward, flinging ignited knives behind created from his ankles also covered by the augment.
Rine, which appears porting to the rear clipped each blades between his fingers and watched it withers as he threw the steel blade directly into Kazuto's head. Though, it wasn't just a normal darting, but it's speed cannot be taken by a glimpse, thus he barely able to tilt his head from the back, opening a small graze bleeding madly on his cheek while the sword struck the ground beside him.
"Wha---" Soon he looks back, Rine's already gone by. He relocated somewhere near, but he couldn't see, nor feel an ounce of his overflowing mana. However the moment he tilts his head back ahead, a knee kick impaled his belly, tearing his shirt apart from the solid impact.
Kazuto suddenly coughs out blood and somehow lost balance on his legs. "Urk!"
The pace keeps up, yet Rine continued to attack. From the stomach, he inserted a slight backward move as he unfolds his knee into the entire leg extending, hence bashed Kazuto's chin upward. He lowered his leg right after but it wasn't finished yet, and so he conjures strength into his fist, performing a single hand push against his chest which tossed his body by a strong force.
He crashed into the ground, but wasn't powerless to clutch himself by putting his arms and legs ablaze then anchors both against the pressure. crouching as he recuperates his balance, he took the sword and casts the whip once again thus charged with utmost speed as he swerve the thing ahead while he casts the words. "Infinite Holocaust!"
He leaped into the air and spins the whip, creating a Fire Vortex compressing Rine inside. Kazuto charged his blade with a dense amount meanwhile the Elemental Foxes arose amidst the embers. Both of their claws ready to gash through him and the Sword's power unleashed a great Arc of Flames, hence drove Rine into an utter pinch. All of it comes altogether, yet he was still wearing that monotic look.
"Is this everything all you got?" From the air, he caught both of the foxes at once, hence it withered by the touch. The spiral Ceased from compression as it extinguish into ash together with the Arc of Flame coming in front of him. For somewhat reason, every spell given was annulled the moment Rine blinked his eye.
"None of that hit?" Kazuto's voice arisen due to the sequence of events. "What is happening?"
From the inside, which broken lines that composed the Spiral turned into complete ashe, Rine began stepping forward gazing at him.
"How disappointing. A year elapsed, but this small progression is the only thing you achieved." Rine sighed in dismay.
"Kk!" At a spur of moment, Kazuto swung the sword aimlessly while his right fist lights up ablaze. At a certain point of time he reached a meter away, he threw the sword midair where he mustered a portion of his mana onto it as he threw an instantaneous jab aiming to his face.
"Sluggish." Rine stood firm, only to move his head aside into the target.
The trajectory of the blade plumetted down pointing into the ground. Kazuto then somersaults back as he catch the sword by flipping himself into the air, kicking the blade backwards switching its course towards Rine. However, the victor had already stepped his foot into the finish line.
"Give up." Rine shattered the sword by his own formless weapon. At a spur of moment, it was cut in smithereens as if a thousand slashes penetrated into blade, hence only the grip remained intact.
Rine swung his elemental blade upward as he unsheathes it back the way like a swordsman.
"Not yet!" Kazuto struggled to maintain his footing with his visible exhaustion takes effects. His flames residing into his presence gradually fades as he trembles into his own downfall. Choked by his own mouth, Kazuto slammed down; powerless.
His now impotent fists came back to normal as he balled his fist down whole hitting it onto the ground. "D-Damn..."
Rine sauntered into his vulnerable body as if all his limbs has never experienced pain. Full of bruises, a ripped uniform, a bleeding lip, every factors doesn't look like it affects his movements, but only those pair of golden eyes stayed divine.
He stood near into Kazuto's body. "Your will must be burning in passion, yet it doesn't give enough illumination into your environment."
"Stop with the poetry, just deal the final blow." Kazuto replied while his face grovel into the ground.
"Kill me."
Rine bluntly declined as he gazes into the sky. "I... Have never dirtied my hands before, nor I am willing to."
"---Huh!? What are implying?"
Rine remained looking above and said. "You do not deserve death. Not now." then he grinned. "And besides...I've already sensed it."
Kazuto questioned. "The what??"
Suddenly, the surface shakes violently surrounding them and the fog disperses quickly as it should. From far away, a vague sign of a massive crowd marches into their direction every second. Every step were in unison as they get closer into them, even so Rine remained standing by Kazuto, watching their arrival.
"Looks like the whole battalionis here."
Consists of twenty five members of the Crimson marching forward, a full army of Robed humans goes into the scene. Amongst the twenty five people, another person leads their way.
While the robe covers the half of her face, a lone girl commands into the battlefront. Her right arm conjured a twisting hurricane, and then threw the first initiation in a form of a swirling lance.
Vaguely visible, yet enough to be detected by their common sense, the winds enrages whenever it passes through the layers of the ethers as if its able to cut through anything in its path. Even so Rine stood steady, letting it strike him once. Though, he knew it won't hit him even the least.
"I guess it's your time to shine."
A hand from behind stopped the lance by his palms as followed by an appearance of another man, concealing himself with a black hooded jacket. The winds have calmed down by his touch and returned into the flow, thus swayed his left arm, drawing the winds leftward, moving by his will.
"Am I too late, Master?"

But this peace is ruined when Lyle's father tells of a mysterious group hell-bent on causing war between the human and demon continents. Later, when his father involves him and his sister in an incident resulting in Iris being put in mortal danger, Lyle makes a decision which could very well cost him not his life... but instead his soul. His status, his loved ones, his dignity as a human being... All these may soon be lost. His life isn't his own. Not anymore. He can only brace himself for the things to come and hope he makes it out with his sanity intact. ******************* EDIT- Author Note: Another thing, the cover photo is not mine. Obviously. It's just a picture I found one day at DeviantArt and thought that the two shown in the picture looked like how I imagined Lyle and another character to be. Simply put, it was convenient in various way and I also loved the art. From my understanding is is from a collaboration between artists Chocobikies and Pinlin. Here is a link to where I found the original http://pinlin.deviantart.com/art/Linked-456655669

Twisted Skies
After his master's death, Thurain leaves his rural home behind and travels to Heliana, the cramped city founded on the scientific progress of cultivation. Under a fake name, he aims to enter the Elemental Path Sect, the place of his master's death, to find both his killers, and closure. However, surrounded by the strange and horrible wonders of Heliana and its mixture of heroes and villains, his master's death is not the only murder he may have to solve. --- First attempt at a xianxia novel from me. To shake things up from the usual formula, the setting is more steam-punk than you might expect, and there are elements of murder mystery mixed in with the standard formula (though I'm not entirely sure yet how far to go with it.) I wrote this a while ago for NaNoWriMo, only posting it now for various reasons. Enjoy. Also, cover is highly temporary. I'll probably replace it with something nicer eventually.

On Astral Tides: From Humble Freelancer To Astral Emperor
What would you do if one day you were told you were one of the chosen who would have to battle to save the world? Akio was an average guy, having moved to the big city from his humble town in the mountains. Sure, his IT freelancing job wasn't making him big money, and he wasn't exactly a hit with the ladies, but life wasn't all that bad... until one day a mysterious angel-like being visited him to tell him the Earth was in danger. Many would be chosen to fight this fate, but would any succeed? Of course, if one could have the usual cheat skills everything would work out, wouldn't it? So why was his skill like a garbage pay-to-win mobile game? Akio would have to not only hone his skills and build his Astral Empire, but he would need to raise money, secure land and become a player on Earth too! Facing this challenging task alone would surely be impossible, so Akio needs to make strong and beautiful allies to take on all those who would oppose him. Who would that be, you ask? The old myths of Earth are returning, alien invaders are waiting outside on the Astral Tides, Cultivators are looking for their next faces to slap, Demons are whispering poison into the ears of anyone who would listen, and whoever was trying to save Earth by granting various people powers were making some really awful choices... Join Akio as he starts at the bottom of the ladder, clawing his way to the top and discovering one can change their destiny, so long as they work hard (and have a boat-load of money!). [Note this story is Harem, and since many don't like that, be warned! It's more Sevens than Isekai Smartphone though. There will be some R-15/18 scenes for the Harem (though I have toned down the one posted here from the original drafts more to the R15 side.] The story is pretty much evenly split between progression fantasy and real-world character building and events, hopefully blending together to make a compelling narrative about how someone could change themselves and the people around them for the better if given the chance by some miraculous intervention, while also hopefully saving the world (and maybe other worlds too.] Update schedule revised: Minimum 3/week - Tues/Wed/Thurs but will aim to hit 5/week where possible If you have any questions re: future plot turns/types of things that might happen and want to know so you know whether you'd find it worth your time reading, feel free to drop me a PM and I'll let you know. No story is for everyone, so no worries!

The Puppy Project
"Give me my puppy!" I demanded, my eyes ablazed with fiery anger."Correction, it's not your puppy. It's our puppy," He smiled, but it was anything but sweet nor happy."You know what? Damn you! You're nothing but a cold, emotionless, and heartless bad boy!" I sneered, glaring at him fiercely. He chuckled at my words, taking a step closer to me. He slammed his hand unto the wall, trapping me, before leaning in close. "You got that right sweetheart but I think you got one thing wrong." He said, his eyes piercing straight into mine."And what is that?" I managed to asked, my throat seeming to get drier the more he looked at me."I'm neither one of those when I'm with you," and with those words, slammed his lips into mine.#1 in Strong-Female Character - 1/29/21#1 in Sarcasm - 2/4/21#2 in BadBoy - 2/13/21#3 in Teen Fiction - 2/13/21#1 in Mysterious - 3/4/21Copyrighted 2017.
