《Two dead men for a bloody coin》Chapter 11: "True" form.

POV: Milder.
"Come on, you can't stay here!" I was helping the villagers evacuate from the chaos between Kykvandi and the demon, which was looking bad for him. He couldn't overpower or parry the greataxe swinging at him. Kykvandi was at such a big disadvantage. The demon was a lot stronger than him, either he got help or he would die. "Help him!" Suddenly, he was knocked by the demon into a stone wall. We tried to get there, but a little girl ran over to where Kykvandi was lying. I couldn't hear what she said because the demon was stomping over there.
A woman ran in front of him. "Please don't hurt her! She's just a child." He pushed her away and grabbed the little girl. "WANT ME TO EAT YOU! THEN LEAVE!" At this opportunity Saethwyr and Varr readied their weapons, Djarfr lunged at the demon. She couldn't chop it cleanly off, but he couldn't use it either.
"Good job, Kykvandi!"
He screamt in pain and clenched on his arm. "I SWEAR I WILL KILL YOU!" Then Saethwyr shot a bolt into the demon's left hand which he was holding his axe with and Varr loosed an arrow into the back of his knee.
The demon turned to us and slowly walked over. "This fight is between him and me. Don't interrupt it." He then clenched his teeth, and suddenly his arm fixed itself. He grabbed the axe in both hands and walked over to where Kykvandi was lying. He started burning and stood up. "NOW WE'RE GETTING SOMEWHERE!" Suddenly there was an earpiercing roar from Kykvandi. He was transforming. The fires all converged onto a black mark on his chest and disappeared, then he grew, his skin stretched and teared and his eyes started to lose the streak of light in them. When he was fully transformed, his skin and muscles were torn and his eyes were pitch black, no blue sky in them, and the black mark was spread like veins on his heart which was visible along with his bones.
The being let out another roar and lunged at the demon who was smaller than it, and flailed its arms without leaving an opening. "THIS IS GETTING INTERESTING!" Suddenly his greataxe was pulled out of his hands and Kykvandi just threw it away and knocked the demon away. I ran and helped people get to safety. "Everyone, get back!" I then ran back to watch the chaos unfold. Kykvandi now had an advantage against the lumbering warrior.
They clashed together, the demon grappled and struck at various parts of its body trying to cripple it to no avail as it kept regenerating. They blocked and dealt a flurry of blows around the town, the demon constantly moving back to get room from its attacks.

The demon found his axe and swung at Kykvandi only for it to break in half and out of the demon's grasp, but Myko quickly grabbed it and slowly held the great axe in his hands. It then swung the axe vertically, cutting off his arm and threw the axe away again. The beast leaned back and kicked the man down to beat him to a bloody pulp. When Kykvandi had shredded the demon to almost nothing, it took the heart that was still beating and began to eat it ravenously.
Seicig turned to me. "Please let me help him, his mind barrier is down, I can reach him!" I held her hand harder than I should have. "NO! What if he hurts you again!?" It just sat there, unmoving. The beast turned to us and flashed a bloody snarl full of serrated teeth and stood up. I let go of seicig and she calmly walked over to it. It just snarled and swung his fist at her but stopped right before hitting her. She put her hand on it's cheek and it reeled back and howled in pain. then it was wrapped up in a plume of smoke and left a charred and unconscious Kykvandi. He was missing a majority of his body.
POV: Kykvandi and Reivi
Even though I was trapped in my own mind, I could still see what "I" was doing, Destroying the demon without giving any openings, more because of the mindlessness of my demon form. He was expertly blocking with his hands despite the action breaking them.
-He's not mindless, he is as intellectually skilled as you, he just hasn't learnt anything except fighting.-
Why is he eating the demon's heart?
-Demons feed on hearts to make them stronger, and demon hearts are much better.-
I have some questions.
-Ask away.-
If he is controlling us, what use do you have?
-I am the personification of your wrath, or I thought I was.-
Then, what are you now?
-I don't know.-
I need go get control back
Suddenly, I saw Her through the demon's eyes and I could feel the hunger it was feeling, yet she was walking over to me. I felt my arm preparing to swing at her, wrath welled up in me and I felt the chains breaking. My arm had stopped before reaching Her. She touched me. it felt cold. IT HURT! I felt weak. I...
POV: Varr.
After we got that freak into a bed to sleep after fucking up a demon, I went to get some clothes for him because Seicig told me to. The market was filled to food stalls, weapons and random shit BUT NO CLOTHES. I walked over to a weapon stall. "Hey, know where there are any fireproof clothes?" The owner nodded and pulled out an old canvas tunic that looked like leftovers of a moth orgy. "It's dipped and dryed various times in borax, making it very fire resistant and the fur on the back is from a hyrr wolf. 80 coins."

Fucking extortion.
I paid up grudgingly and walked over to another stall that was selling arrows. "Got any large arrows? I use a bow that need them." The owner put various types of arrows, all one meter long on the table. "This one has an armor piercing tip, this one is serrated, this one is a swallowtail and this one is crescent." I shook my head at the idiot seller.
don't they have normal large arrows?
"I just need normal one meter arrows. Nothin' else." The owner then lowered his head and brought me a large quiver of the arrows I ordered. "20 pieces" I paid him and walked back to the weapon stall. "Do you have anything that covers the head but isn't a helmet?" He showed me a metal mouth mask with large fangs and red skin. Too dramatic. I walked back to the inn, now that it was time to babysit that fucking demon, but first for something else.
POV: Djarfr
Milder ordered me to help any people who were hurt from the previous clash along with volunteers. Although there wasn't a lot of damage done by Kykvandi and the demon, there was an enormous hole in the mayor's place caused by the demon burning a hole through it. I helped carry wood and I helped with repair plans. "How many logs do you need approximately?"
"For the buildings, about 20 trees." Although that was a lot to carry, but I did volunteer . The mayor then gave me a hatchet. "We could use the greataxe to chop down trees. It could help us a lot." The mayor nodded and seeing as no one wanted to help me I found a table and two chairs. "Anyone that beats me in arm wrestling will get the greataxe!" A lot of overconfident men tried to beat me, only to lose the match and their pride. Seeing as no one was as strong as me, I had to do it by myself. The axe was heavy alright, but not too heavy for me, so I started to chop.
Whilst I was cutting trees, I saw a small tree on a rock in a river. So pretty, it almost resembled a woman, but it was too small so I left it. I had to chop a tree, leave the axe and drag the tree back to the town center, return, rinse and repeat. When I was done I saw a shadow in the woods. I slowly moved up to them and covered their eyes with my hands. "Let me guess, Djarfr?" I took my hands off his face and he turned around to hug me. We kissed and lied down on the grass. "How are you, babe?" Varr always liked to call me sweet names.
"I'm helping the town rebuild. And you?"
"I had to buy some clothes for Kykvandi. You should see them." Varr then showed me some old clothes, a tunic with black fur and some black trousers.
"Why not buy him some normal clothes?"
"Seicig wanted fire resistant clothes to avoid any fire accidents that might leave him without clothes."
"Don't you think it needs some armor plating to it? Just saying."
"What are you suggesting, sweet?"
"Maybe there is a blacksmith in this town so we could get some wolfram greaves and vambraces."
"What the hell is wolfram?" While Varr wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed, he was still charming.
"Tungsten. It's an iron variation that has a really high melting point, but it's expensive."
"How about fire infused metals?"
"That's the same thing, silly." I jokingly punched his arm.
"So we should get some wolfram shin and arm covers?"
"Okay." We got up and Varr gallantly offered to carry the axe back for me, but he wasn't that strong, so I helped him carry it back.
Maybe Kykvandi could use this.
POV: Saethwyr
Breathe... Relax... Pull the trigger!
I was shooting prey for animals and hide to sell to get back some money, but I had to use a normal crossbow and bolts to not get my holy crossbow damaged or misused on small non demonic beings. All I seemed to get were rabbits and foxes, I need to try hunting something else. I creeped through the shadows and while I was observing the landscape I saw an animal that had antlers like branches, moss growing on it's back and hooves like small stones. It was beautiful, but such thing was below me. I put a crossbow bolt in the arbalest and lined up the shot, but before I could pull the trigger, it looked at me with eyes that had more sentience than common men.
It lied down and started to sleep, but I was left stunned at it's majesty. I slowly walked up to it and it just layed there, sleeping. When it was at my feet, I slowly crouched to touch it's fur although it was more like moss, and it was smooth. I was feeling sleepy after all the chaos earlier so I lied down next to the elk. It started to creep its vines towards me.
NO!
I jumped away. The elk stood up, and was stomping its hooves. NO. I will not join you.
Join me. Follow your destiny.
Leave me alone.
The animal walked away.

I Have Even Read the Rulebook!
As all stories begin, Prof died. Yes, truck-kun had something to do with that, but also a bird, a cat and some rebar. When he was presented with with the opportunity in the Afterlife Administration Bureau to be transmigrated into a game-like fantasy world, he did something, no one ever did: he read the Rulebook. Follow Prof on his road to be rich without working, touring a whole new world without a care and witness his realisation, that despite having read the Rulebook the folks living with the System for untold millennia know more about the rules. Important notes: 1, I'm not a native speaker, so be prepared for occassional typos, iffy grammar and maybe awkward sentences. The spell check was running, when I wrote the chapters, but it works in strange ways... If you point out mistakes, I will try to correct them 2, Scheduling will be two chapters a week, posted Saturdays before noon (CET). Depending on how much new chapters I can write consistently there will be probably more but as long as I have leftover chapters, the two per week will be posted no matter what. Chapters will be around 1500-2500 words as MS Word counts it. 3, I did not and will not post this novel on another site, if you find it somewhere else, please inform me 4, The Main Character's progression is slow, there will be no Levels, Skills, Abilities, Feats, Perks and Cheat Powers raining down on him 5, I've put Comedy as a genre because of my writing style not because the novel is a comedy per se. On the other hand, Traumatising Content is there because there is a lot of speciesism - those Elves are not nice people. 6, I put a lot of pop-cultural references into the chapters, try to find them! Enjoy!
